I showed her inspiration photos and she exceeded my expectations each time! Karina styled my hair for my engagement and wedding day; she was wonderful in providing recommendations for my hair extensions and took the time to make my hair voluminous and timeless for my ‘Hollywood Waves’ look. Kathy also completed makeup for my bridal party and they were in love with their looks! I would give these ladies a 15/10 rating!!! I hired Hairspray & Highlight for my wedding day and also bridal portraits and am so happy with the way my hair and makeup turned out. I can be extremely picky in the hair/makeup department and I knew early in the wedding planner process that this particular vendor was going to be my most important one lol. Suzette did an awesome job at fixing the things I wanted to change after my trial, and my hair and makeup turned out pretty much exactly how I wanted it to… which is no easy task for me! I cannot recommend Suzette enough! She is incredibly reliable, professional, and brings a calming presence to what can be a hectic day. I knew I was in great hands the moment she arrived, fully prepared, and ready to deliver magic.
She did my makeup for my wedding weekend in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and flawlessly executed four totally different looks for my events — each one unique, glam, and exactly what I envisioned. From soft and romantic to full glam, she nailed every single style with ease.
Her calm, kind energy made the entire experience so enjoyable while I got ready — I truly felt like I could relax and just soak it all in. It’s no surprise that she also works with Miss USA contestants — her skill level is on another level.
My only complaint is that she’s not based closer to me in Florida! If you’re lucky enough to book her, you’re in the best hands. She made me feel confident, radiant, and so incredibly special.

Can’t recommend this company enough!! As someone with dark features I have struggled in the past with other makeup artists. Suzette is INCREDIBLE. I have never felt so beautiful in my life! I had an absolutely amazing experience with Karina and Kathy! We did a wedding day trial before my engagement pictures, and I’m SO glad we did. It gave me the chance to figure out exactly what I liked and didn’t like before the big day. When the wedding came around, I gave them some feedback, and they absolutely killed it! My hair and makeup were flawless, and I got so many compliments throughout the day. We also jumped in the pool before everyone left and my makeup was still perfect when we got out! The absolute best makeup artist and glam team! Suzette’s talent is unmatched. The thing I love most about her is that she’s always learning new techniques to improve her skill. Britany was hired to do makeup for my cousin's wedding. She was AMAZING. She kept a list of all the products she used, so if we loved something, we knew what to shop for! She was so professional, but she kept us all laughing and kept the jitters at bay. Her makeup skills are immaculate!!! She knew exactly how to hide imperfections and how to accent the best parts of our faces. I would hire her again over and over.

There's a Reason this MUA has 5 Stars
So I have never had makeup professionally done before, but I knew I wanted to be worry-free on wedding day.
I had a couple hiccups - but it was mostly on my end, being inexperienced. If like me, you don't know how it works either - ask questions. The owner, Suzette is in high demand and busy, but she was patient, kind and made sure I understood everything. Also make sure you read the contract on a computer. Don't just send things over on your phone - you'll miss important details.
Okay the fun stuff: I had a makeup trial with another vendor first, and wasn't wow'd. Then I decided to look for the highest rated MUA team I could find, and Hairspray and Highlight did not disappoint.
This team LISTENS to what you're looking for, and works so hard to create the look you have in mind. They WILL give you honest feedback if they think your hair cannot fit a certain style for example, and work to help you find something else you love. My hair doesn't naturally curl, and I was told some extensions could achieve the look I was hoping for.
Hairspray & Highlight does glam, movie-star worthy, air-brushed makeup to last all day, that still feels light and can tone down for a more natural ethereal look too - I'm actually surprised they're here local to Houston, and not on call in Hollywood instead. I had a team of 3 artists for Hair and Makeup. We had myself + 4 Bridesmaids, + 2 Moms + 2 Grandmas. Everyone was THRILLED.
We all looked beautiful, felt confident, and the makeup lasted all day. My grandmother said she didn't know she could still feel so pretty at 85.
Couple things to note: If you look at their IG, save the photos and show them when booking. Ask who created the looks you like. H&H is not just one MUA ... its a team of artists. So if you're hoping for someone specific... you have to request and book that person by name.
There are charges for specific artist requests, and for a trip fee if it's a long distance, but I found everything to be very fair compared to the other vendors I priced. I even found them to be lower priced than the MUA I tried first and did not choose.
Even if you think you can do your own hair & makeup. Please trust me that your wedding day is a blur - it's so busy, and it's the last thing you want to worry about ... or have making you late to your own ceremony. It is WORTH every penny.

I found Suzette a week before my wedding. My wedding was 4/6 and she asked if she could call me immediately since it was coming up so quickly. I was scared to book without a trial since I was not a fan of my first trial (different company) but i had to go for it!
I was BLOWN AWAY by her work. My bridesmaids and i absolutely loved everything she did.
Now if only i could get my make up professionally done everyday…. 😂

The Best Makeup Artist In Houston
I highly recommend Hairspray and Highlight.
Suzette’s work speaks for itself and she is truly gifted when it comes to hair and makeup. Booking my appointment was quick and easy. During my appointment she was attentive to my needs and helped me decide what kind of look I wanted. Throughout the entire process she made me feel like a princess. She absolutely pampered me and I cannot wait to see her again! She was efficient with time, but did not rush. After finishing my hair and makeup she took the time to take some beautiful photos of my makeup and hair and even sent them directly to me. I walked out of her salon feeling like a completely new women! Suzette showed me new techniques I have never seen before. Book with her I promise you won’t regret it! She is by far the best makeup artist in the city of Houston.

Beyond amazing!
I’m from Michigan and I had my hair and makeup done with Karina and Suzette while I was in Huston Texas for a wedding. My hair and makeup held up all night and I got so many compliments but most importantly my fiancé LOVED their work. A few weeks later I reached out to Karina to do my wedding hair (I had already booked my makeup artist from Michigan) and she did not disappoint! I am so grateful to have met these two by chance and to have had Karina do my hair for my wedding as they are both extremely talented!!

2020 bride
With my wedding being in 2020 and having to reschedule due to COVID. These ladies have been a Godsend through the entire process. Not only did they bend over backwards to accommodate my new date, they were so helpful and understanding the entire time. My wedding was so perfect and my photographers and videographers couldn’t stop complimenting their amazing work and how well it was done. Ladies... all you take with you is your photos. Invest, invest, invest in your hair and makeup and your bridal parties. I can’t say this enough.

10/10 The Very Best
We used this company for my best friends wedding in February. Not only did they show up on time, they even got there early before everyone else. All 11 girls were able to get their hair and make up done in a timely fashion, and the quality was flawless. They are incredibly professional and efficient in every way. My daughters sweet 15
They’re amazing at what they do. Hair and makeup was just perfect for all the girls in my family. It was more then 10 of us total and they did a great time finishing on time. I would highly recommend them and definitely hire them for my next event.

They are the best team ever! They are so nice and welcoming. I have always felt somewhat awkward when getting hair and make up done for events but they sure make you feel comfortable when you are in their chair! They were an absolutely AMAZING team! I was married on March 16, 2019 and I had a large group of girls who were all doing both hair and makeup and they were extremely efficient and quick while still making all 9 of us look stunning! They are very sweet and very easy to get in touch with. I would recommend them again and again to anyone in need of a hair and makeup team!

Great hair and make up team
Suzette and Karina did hair and make up for our bridal party, and it turned out amazing! Bridesmaids hair and make up lasted the entire evening, and my airbrushed make up looked gorgeous even with me bawling my eyes out. If you are thinking about using them DO IT. The price is worth their knowledge and skill!
We went with a rather natural look, but the way the make up was done was absolutely gorgeous! Both my mother and my husbands mother look incredible (being in their 60's and 50's!). All our bridesmaids make up looked stunning. Unfortunately I do not have any photos of my bridesmaids hair from the back, but each had their own uniqueness while staying similar enough to look uniform.

Both of these ladies are awesome. After having my makeup artist cancel on me a couple of months prior to the wedding, I was able to book them last minute! They are both super sweet and did a fantastic job on all of us. I will definitely recommend them to everyone and use them again in the future.

Suzette and Karina are both absolutely wonderful ladies who will make you look beyond stunning for your special day! I opted to do a trial a few months before my wedding, which helped them know what kind of hair/face they were working with and helped me feel more comfortable about how everything would look together. On the wedding day, they did hair and makeup for me as well as my five bridesmaids - their time management was exceptional and they had everyone done within just a few hours. They're both very professional and very good at knowing what will look/work best. They're also very flexible, as I had to cancel the trial last minute, but had no problems rescheduling. If you want an awesome duo for any photo shoot or for your wedding day, Suzette and Karina are it!
