Working with Heidi was amazing! My husband and I did both our engagement shoot and wedding (June 2017) with her and could not be any happier with the experience and the photos. Heidi made the sessions comfortable and laid back, we were able to be ourselves in front of her and the camera, which I believe helped our pictures to look so natural.

Heidi helped our wedding go off without any complications or delays and helped us to stay on the busy time table. She was also able to provide us with a number of ideas on where to do our first look near our venue. The setting was perfect.

Heidi is professional, responsive, and goes above and beyond for her clients. We received all of our finished photos approximately two and a half weeks after our wedding. I was so impressed, I have friends who waited months for their photos.

My husband and I could not stress enough how in love we are with Heidi and her work! I wouldn't choose anyone else to capture the important memories in our life, infact we are using her for our newborn session next April!

Heidi Gumula and her second shooter were amazing from start to finish. Heidi has great communication skills and reached out to me often to find out if there was anything I needed or to get updates on the schedule as it was constantly changing. We loved getting to know her with our engagement session and felt really comfortable. She made us feel like we were doing a great job being photographed (even though we both know we aren't very photogenic). The day of the wedding she was extremely flexible and allowed us to start taking pictures at two different locations with the guys and girls getting ready. Unfortunately we had a rainy day for our wedding, but you can barely tell by looking at the pictures. Heidi was super creative and found us a great spot to still enjoy our venue and take pictures outside despite the drizzle. She was also great after the ceremony and zipped us down the road in her car to capture a double rainbow when the rain stopped for a few minutes. We cannot stop looking at all of the pictures and cannot say enough great things about Heidi and her work. We would recommend her to anyone and everyone.

Gamula Photography captured our wedding in such magical shots. Heidi turned the rustic venue (a hunting and fishing club) in to something spectacular! Besides marrying the love of my life, the next best wedding-related decision was hiring Gumula Photography for all our wedding festivities: rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, and reception! Heidi and her team are incredibly talented photographers, easy to work with, a calming presence, professional, and able to get all your dream shots! Seriously affordable, an absolute dream of a wedding photographer, I would seriously scoop her up if she's available for your wedding. I cannot stop looking at my wedding photos, I love them so much! This is a long overdue review of photographer Heidi Gumula. (gumulaphotography.com) My delay is due to not finding adequate words to describe how talented and wonderful she is.
The photos that Heidi took of my daughter’s wedding day were perfection. Heidi is a consummate professional with a very sweet temperament and an incredible eye for photography. The pictures she took were exquisite. They completely captured the romance and happiness of the day. We have a lively family, and there was a lot going on the entire day. Heidi captured it all!
We have big families and we wanted family photos with every last person in the pictures. Heidi was not only able to accommodate us, but she made it fun for everyone and took fabulous pictures. She worked very hard all day to make sure our photos were outstanding, and she was kind and sweet to everyone. She traveled quite a long way for the wedding too.
Heidi is easygoing and she managed to get the most beautiful pictures ever, even though we had a rainy wedding day. I was completely thrilled at how perfect the pictures were. In fact during my first review of the wedding pictures, they were so gorgeous I had trouble seeing them I was crying so hard. Heidi is incredibly talented. It is simply impossible to find a better wedding photographer.

Heidi was amazing to work with, we cannot say enough great things about her and her photography! She took the time to meet with us before our wedding to get to know us and what our expectations were. Our guests complimented how professional she was. Heidi and her assistant, Kiera, got all of the pictures we wanted, all the while barely noticing they were there. She genuinely cared about capturing everything we wanted. Our wedding album is beautiful and great quality. We highly recommended her!

Heidi in one word – amazing! I found her online while trying to find more pictures of the venue we were going to be getting married at and her photography blew me away. I was instantly taken by it and she had photographed many other beachy/nautical weddings like ours was going to be (including a couple weddings at our venue, Shining Tides). I had one phone conversation with her and then booked her within 30 mins of getting off the phone. I didn’t speak to any other photographers – I didn’t feel the need to because her photography style and her friendly personality was exactly what we were looking for in a photographer (after all, you are spending the entire day with this person on your wedding day so you have to like the person!). Being photographed can be so awkward (and not something I typically enjoy), but she made my now husband and I feel so comfortable. Heidi was super responsive during the entire planning process, and was proactive in setting up a meeting a few weeks before the wedding in order to go over final details. She was an absolute pleasure to work with, and I wouldn’t hesitate to hire her again if I ever need a photographer.

I cannot say enough about Heidi and how amazing she was at our wedding! We used Heidi to take some Christmas photos for us in 2013 and when Trevor proposed in 2014 I knew we needed Heidi!! She was literally the 1st person to know we were engaged :) Throughout the day she was always there snapping pics but never intruding, she was super flexible when we were running late, she was great with the horribly hectic wedding party/family photos, she took me and Trevor off for some photos right when the sun was setting and made it a point to get the perfect shots. We've only had 1 sneak peek but I know the pictures are going to be fabulous!!! I would highly recommend Heidi for any event...we are so glad we choose her and are looking forward to seeing all the amazing shots she took! She helped make our day perfect. Thanks Heidi!!! xoxox

Booking Gumula Photography for our wedding was easily one of the best decisions that we made for our wedding. We had an amazing day, and Heidi Gumula captured it perfectly. Working with Heidi was easy and fun. She gave us great direction throughout the process (engagement photos, wedding day and with the album afterwards) but was also super open to our suggestions. Our wedding party and wedding guests are still talking about how much they loved working with Heidi and how great our photos are almost a year after our wedding. Your wedding is one of the most important and beautiful days of your lives, and your photographs are going to be the longest lasting memento of that day. Heidi Gumula is a fantastic photographer! It was an absolute pleasure to have her be a part of my daughter's special day! WOW! I can't possibly say enough wonderful things about Heidi's photography. Having seen her work from my brother and sister's weddings over the past few years, I immediately knew who to call when I got engaged. Despite trusting that I was in good hands, I couldn't have imagined how well Heidi and Audrey would translate our wedding day onto film! The pictures were truly breathtaking! They took what can often be an awkward process of getting your photo taken and made it a fun, memorable experience, reminding us every step of the way to stop and enjoy the moment together. Heidi was unobtrusive, sneaking in to get the best shots when you weren't looking without disturbing a second of the day. She has a true creative vision and her photography style tells a beautiful story. Everyone who saw our wedding photos complimented on how amazing they came out and how different they were from the normal formal wedding shots you see. Heidi isn't just a great photographer - she's an artist. She even got the most AMAZING sunset pictures from our wedding night - something we hoped for but didn't think would be realistic in the chaos of the day. I cannot recommend her highly enough to any bride and groom. If you want someone who will truly capture the emotion of the day versus just an image, give Heidi a call.

Heidi is hands down one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! After seeing the work she did for a friend's wedding, we were confident that she'd also do a great job on ours. However, our expectations were well exceeded! She was not only so sweet throughout the entire process but she was quick to respond, reminded us of important decisions, and really went the extra mile to make sure our day would be photographed in the perfect way. Since we were having a destination wedding, she even went ahead and did some recon for us, on the best places to take photos in Newport. Heidi was super flexible to work with but most importantly her photographs were simply amazing! We received our photos back so quickly and each one was better than the next. She captured the day flawlessly and her attention to detail and creativity truly shines in her work. We could not be happier with Heidi’s services and hope to one day get to use her again. Thank you Heidi for capturing our day perfectly; we can't wait to look at these photos for years to come!

The photographer was always been at the top of my list of “wedding priorities” and when I began planning a wedding I looked high and low for someone who’s style fit the vision for my wedding. My cousin got married a few years before me and used Heidi Gumula Photography and was extremely satisfied by her work. Now, after my wedding I can see why. Heidi and her assistant were beyond AMAZING. They were professional and discrete to the point where you did not even notice them until you were the one being photographed, they were energetic, happy and fun to be around. Heidi pays attention to the smallest details that even you might not think of. I remember thinking on the plane for my honeymoon I never took a picture of my engagement or wedding ring. But apparently when I gave it to my sister to hold for the ceremony Heidi took it and got a picture of it with my dress! She captured special moments of me with my flower girls and mother and I never even saw the camera. Being in medical school I was likely one of the most unorganized brides and I was definitely hard to get ahold of but Heidi was patient and sweet during the whole process. She is so easy going and it is impossible not to love her. Almost immediately after the wedding I receive my teaser, then soon after she posted a bunch of pictures on her blog and in just over two weeks I received all of my pictures, this you know is important since I have been dreaming of wedding pictures since I was a little girl. I loved everything about Heidi and her work and I would recommend her with the upmost certainty you will love her and your pictures.

Oh p.s. did I mention I changed my wedding date less than 6 months before? And she said it was fine she was free that day too no change in price or problems!

Heidi was beyond great working with us for our wedding day and engagement photos. She was so kind and well organized that she put us at ease over many of the details of the day. She also made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, even though neither of us considered ourselves very photogenic! Our photos are amazing - I can't stop looking at them - and they will be treasured memories for us and our family in the years to come. Heidi was amazing to work with! Because we had planned a weekend wedding, we asked her to photograph the events for the whole weekend, and she happily obliged. Heidi was the perfect choice for our wedding day! Not only was she super polite and extremely helpful, but she also is incredibly talented! Gumula Photography was the first and only photographer we interviewed for our wedding. Once we met with Heidi we knew she would be an amazing addition to our special day. It was one of the BEST investments we made for our wedding. Remember- pictures last forever! Heidi and her staff are extremely professional and have such a creative eye when it comes to taking pictures. They listen to specific requests and make everyone feel completely comfortable behind the camera. Heidi is so talented behind the camera and behind the scenes. She photographed our engagement session, my bridal shower, our wedding and even custom designed our Save-the-Dates and Thank You notes.

Heidi was truly a joy to work with. She took the time to find out exactly what we were looking for in a photographer and what we hoped to get out of our photos. She was available throughout our entire engagement to answer questions and always did so in a timely manner. Most impressive was her sincere reaction to our wedding, and to us as a couple: we could tell that she genuinely enjoyed working with us and was excited to shoot our wedding. On the actual day, she was easy-going but efficient, making the best use of the time we had hired her for. Our guests have marveled over our photos, saying they look like they came from a high-fashion magazine!

Heidi took absolutely stunning photos of our wedding day. I had been initially uncertain about having a wedding photographer because I was worried the pictures would look formulaic, but Heidi's pictures were total Art and captured the spirit of our wedding perfectly! Words cannot describe how AMAZING Heidi and her second shooter Keira were. After only chatting with Heidi on the phone, I knew she would be the best photographer for our wedding. After describing all the little details of our wedding, I was confident in Heidi that she knew exactly what to do!! She is on pinterest which is great because she could see exact photos that I wanted, and she made sure to make them happen!! She knew how to take the perfect pictures without being "in the way" at all! The preview photos that Heidi sent us were more than I could have ever dreamed of! She knew exactly how to capture the most memorable moments, she was the perfect photographer for us! I highly recommend that everyone in the Rhode Island area uses Gumula Photography to feel like their wedding is straight out of a magazine!

Heidi was everything I could have imagined and more! The quality of her photographs were absolutely beautiful. I do not consider myself a very photogenic person, but somehow Heidi made me look beautiful. She also did an amazing job adding an artistic view to our photos, whether it was the positions she placed us in during photos or the effects she added afterwards. I could not have asked for a better photographer, and would HIGHLY recommend her. After being married for a month, I am still looking at all the photos everyday and could not be happier!

When my fiancé (now husband) and I were planning our wedding one critical decision in the process was choosing the right photographer. We are a non-traditional couple looking for an artist to capture our day in a whimsical way. We were given a few recommendations from friends but around that same time that we were researching photographers my sister had just gotten married and when she sent me the link to her photo gallery I was in awe. I loved the photographer’s style: the varying color effects, the angles, the details, the creativity, etc. She captured the moments of that day beautifully. My sister told me that Heidi was great to work with. That’s when I knew I had to have her, and to my good fortune she was available for our date.

Heidi was a pure pleasure to work with. My fiancé and I had a vision for our vintage-themed wedding and Heidi was enthusiastic about our ideas. She travelled to the area where we were having our reception before our wedding day to find the best photo opportunities. That was an extra perk that we were not expecting and put our minds at greater ease so there was less time to waste on the day-of searching for places to go. With all the things that a bride worries or panics about, photography wasn’t one of them. Heidi and her assistant Kiera were very friendly and professional. For certain moments Heidi was great about guiding us and instructing us what to do, keeping our poses very natural and not forced. At other times she and Kiera became almost invisible stealing the moments that we would later cherish. At the end of the night I was confident that we were going to be able to relive this day with beautiful photos.

To my surprise Heidi already had a few photos ready to view the day following our wedding and I was blown away. The pictures were stunning. Who knew we could photograph that well? Our photos are all magazine-worthy! One of my absolute favorites made it on Loveolio’s homepage (Love Olio is a gallery of the most creative wedding photographers in the world)! I was craving more… and more came a week later. I could not have been more pleased with the quality of Heidi’s pictures. And less than 3 weeks from the wedding the entire photo gallery was available. I cannot stop looking through the photos. They are absolutely beautiful. Heidi did not skip a beat. She truly is an artist and a master or her profession.

Our experience with Gumula Photography was spectacular. Heidi devoted the time to getting all the traditional shots but also used a keen eye to create some unique images that we will truly cherish for years to come. From start to finish we never doubted our decision to put our day in her hands. All our guests were extremely impressed by her cool and charming demeanor. I have encountered photographers at weddings that are task masters, order people around and make them feel uncomfortable to "capture" their ideal shot. Gumula Photography captured every moment we wanted and plenty we didn't think of without ever adding any stress to an already hectic day. In fact, having Heidi in charge seemed to have a calming effect. Great experience and highly recommended.

Heidi was completely amazing! She did a fabulous job the day of, and we absolutely adore our photos. Heidi was wonderful to work with. She is incredibly professional and immediately responds to all emails and phone calls (I was an overly organized bride!). My husband really wanted someone who was not pushy but also knew how to get the best photos-- Heidi was exactly that and more! I highly recommend her to all brides.

Heidi was amazing. She listened to everything we said and made great suggestions. She came out and did a dry run of where we wanted to do pictures and of the church etc.
She was very prompt in returning phone calls and emails.
Value of cost: extremely happy!!!!
She was very laid back and you didn't even know she was there. She blended in and got so many amazing shots.
I really can't think of anything that she could have done better.

Immediately upon meeting Heidi we knew she was the perfect choice to photograph our wedding. I had been so impressed by her portfolio, and our wedding pictures are every bit of the same caliber, with a wonderful range of portrait, candid, and artistic shots. She was unobtrusive during the ceremony and reception, but perfectly directive for our first look and family portraits. She did a wonderful job with a usually very unphotogenic group!

She's highly professional: I appreciated her quick responses to emails and questions, her willingness to meet with us a week prior to the wedding at our venue to plan how the day would go, and how quickly she delivered the photo CD to us after the wedding. But more importantly, she's such a wonderful person -- it was like having another friend at the wedding, she seemed so genuinely happy for us and delighted to be part of our event.

We are so happy with the pictures Heidi took of our wedding. The variety is great, from formal to candids, from black and white to color to artsy. She took so many good ones, it's going to take us some time to go through them all and figure out which of the many we love are going to get framed or put into photo books. She was very available leading up to the wedding, and had some really fun and funky ideas. I would recommend her highly to anyone looking for a professional, friendly, fun wedding photographer.

Heidi Gumula Photography gave me excellent services. The outcome was amazing. The texture, color and emotions were captured so perfectly. There many styles you can choose from in addition, there are special effects you can add on to the pictures. The photographers are very professional and gave very useful advices to those like me, camera shy people.
