Exceptional dj service!!

I would use this DJ over and over. Very accommodating to any last minute changes and wonderful to work with! What an amazing night with everything I wanted!

2020 wedding

Covid make the final stages of planning very stressful, but Letitia was great. She was supportive and understanding as things kept changing- even through the night of the wedding. She made planning very easy and was so great during the processes. I would highly recommend them!!!

If you want your DJ to bring all your guests to the dancing floor, this is a great choice. You NEVER EVER become disappointed. It was my wedding last Saturday, and we gave them a sort of our favorite songs, but I realized not many people are on the dancing floor after half an hour. I said: PLZ forget all our songs and play something that everyone leaves their chair. AND THIS WAS THE END OF A FUN, DANCing NIGHT. I will choose this company again and again

The Great Music Company was PERFECT for our wedding ceremony and reception at Mirbeau Inn & Spa. The space is slightly unique, but having played there before, our two DJs knew exactly how to set up. Jennifer & Letitia were great MCs and kept the night flowing. Our music was spot on throughout the reception. We picked a lot of the music ourselves, but everyone was dancing throughout the night. They picked great music for the cocktail hour and dinner hour as well!

Letitia was always incredibly responsive to my emails and also on top of reminding of things I needed to get done - which was very helpful in the last month of wedding planning!

Letitia and John Carucci with the Great Music Company were outstanding to work with for my wedding at the Sherwood Inn this past October! The music they selected was a great variety of songs, and the timeline that they put together for my wedding reception was perfect! They helped make my reception such a great time! I highly recommend the Great Music Company to any couple that's looking for outstanding entertainment for their wedding!

My original dj cancelled THE DAY BEFORE my wedding. I called this company to find an emergency replacement dj and spoke to Latitia very upset about the situation. She had my fiance and I come in an hour later to set everything up for the next night. The price was great and they offered eveything we could have asked for. The djs were not only professional but fun and very responsive to every aspect. They went above and beyond to help save my wedding! I will be making sure anyone who asks for a DJ company, with the best music and DJs to hire The Great Music company. Hands down the best company ever! The owners deserve to be commended!

The Great Music Company was a phenomenal DJ for my wedding. Letitia met with me in person and even drove to meet me half way since I live about 45 minutes away. They helped me pick all the music for the special dances and events at the wedding and were extremely helpful! Their online music selection library made it so easy to pick all the songs I wanted played at my wedding. They kept us on schedule for everything at the wedding and made everything go so smoothly. We had lots of compliments on the music and everyone had a fantastic time! Thanks again so much for everything!!

Letitia was great to work with throughout the planning process - even giving me extra time on the online planner when I had some last minute requests! The reception guide that we were provided with a general order and suggested songs was a great start to helping us design our ceremony and reception, and they were also very flexible with accommodating any other song requests we had! The DJ team that we had on our wedding day was fantastic - he kept the party moving and honored all of our requests, while ensure that EVERYONE from older relatives to younger friends had a great time on the dance floor! They also did a fantastic job with up lighting to add to the ambiance.

Leticia and James did a FANTASTIC job at our wedding reception! After meeting with Leticia for the first time, we knew we made the right decision. We had some unusual requests and she came through on each and everyone of them. The music was great, everyone was dancing all night long! Thank you to both of you for making our reception a beautiful, unforgettable and fun one!

We give the Great Music Company two thumbs up. They did an awesome job, they were the ones that kept us on schedule. We were very unorganized with our music and made last minute decisions and the DJ was fine with it he made a note of it and moved on. Everyone at the wedding danced the entire time and that ment a lot to us.
We had some very hard to pronounce last names and they double checked with us on the pronunciation and nailed everyone! We couldn’t have been more pleased.

Bob & Letitia have been family friends for years so it was a no-brainer to ask them to be our DJs for the wedding. Everyone had a wonderful time at our reception, the music was great and that got all our requests in. Professional, helpful and easy to work with. Matt and John were fantastic! They did an excellent reading the crowd and kept them on their feet dancing thru the entire reception.

Letitia with the Great Music Conpany was so professional and knowledgable from the very beginning planning steps. She was available any time I needed her. We met multiple times before the big event and finalized all of our details even with my unique and busy schedule. She made wonderful suggestions and made me feel at ease about the entire day.
Our ceremony was outdoors, on the lake. The sound was projected perfectly. The guests could hear every word of the ceremony and the ceremony music and readings were flawless.
During our reception the dj was so friendly and all of the music made the entire evening surreal.
Our guests had a wonderful time and so did we.
Thank you for making our wedding atmosphere so memorable!

Jenifer and Letitia make a great MC/DJ team. We liked having a female MC and glad we picked Jennifer, who is very upbeat. They kept the guests entertained and the momentum of the night was good.
They listened to our ideas and carried through. The lighting was a great touch.
The website is awesome and we found it tremendously helpful in organizing the timeline. It allowed us to select songs and add details of the event for months leading up to the event. Letitia is so personable. She went above and beyond by providing traditional chinese music for a small portion of the event tailored to my family.
Our wedding reception was a big hit and we owe it to the Great Music Company.

Letisha went above and beyond to help me plan and pick out the perfect songs and ceremony music for our wedding. I was really nervous about everything coming together and she helped ease my mind through the process. Both Letitia and Ken were outstanding, and they helped make our reception go smooth, while providing a fun atmosphere. They handled everything, and took the reception completely off our hands. They also provided karaoke at the hotel bar after the reception, which was great. The were very flexible with time, music, and requests. I highly recommend them, and it was great using a dj company that provided great music, but also ran the show flawlessly.

The night before our ceremony I was nervous as to how everything would go the next day. Letitia came to set up their equipment while we were decorating and put my nerves to rest, with her friendliness and organization. They also saved the day by substituting their projector (high quality) for the one I had brought (low quality). I can't say how much I appreciated that. The Great Music Company was successful in helping us pull off the perfect day!

The Great Music Company is aptly named--they are terrific! When we called for information they answered all of our questions, and sent out a packet immediately. They met us at the site a month in advance to go over the room layout, provided a detailed list of music, an event schedule for us to fill in with their help, and gave us some very useful suggestions to make the reception even more fun. Up-lighting, one of the extra services they offer, transformed the reception hall! The room literally glowed. Bob and Letitia, the owners, set up the lights and the sound system the day before, and were very courteous , and even helpful to us as we decorated.
On the evening of the reception, the DJ and his assistant were dressed formally, were well groomed, and were friendly and well organized. Their introduction of the bridal party hit just the right note.
They found every song by every artist I asked for. I had requested a special Brazilian song, but only knew some of the lyrics. Bob and Letitia somehow found the song, and I squealed with delight when I heard the music! That's service!
The DJ kept the party hopping, and mixed the music just right for our magical night. Ou family will definitely call on the Great Music Company for our next event!

The Great Music Company was GREAT! They had good choices of music and it was something I didn't have to worry too much about. They make sure they put the bride and groom first and they are more than willing to help with suggestions. The introductions, intro dances (father - daughter, mother - son), dinner music, dance music, etc...was excellent. The dance floor was full the entire night. All my guests commented on how good the music was. They made my wedding day memorable, not only to us but to all our guests as well!!!

A++. Our original DJ cancelled on us (due to extenuating circumstances) 5 days before the wedding. They recommended Great Music Company and Letitia was more than accommodating to us! They are such a pleasure to work with and Kenny and Matt our DJ's for the reception were very professional and in such short notice really got to know and understand our music style and did an absolutely amazing job! They were very fun to work with.

Our DJ from Great Music Company was a really nice guy. He was funny and played a really wide range of music. He seemed to be working hard to pick songs that would get people up and dancing and by the end of the night, he certainly succeeded and most people were up and dancing. He had everyone do a big group hug at the end of the night, which was a little weird, but certainly very memorable. haha He also had a vibrant personality when it came to the garter toss and bouquet toss, which made it fun for the spectators. We met with Letitia a couple times to talk about what we wanted in a DJ and she was very friendly and helpful and also very flexible.

Letitia and John were excellent and we loved working with them for our wedding! Letitia was quick to respond to any questions that we had and she did a great job walking us through our music timeline. We met with her twice and she was wonderful and a sweet woman to talk to!

At our reception Letitia and John did a great job monitoring the crowd and picking out which songs to play at what times - there wasn't a moment in the 2-hour open dance time where there weren't people on the dance floor! They were also very accommodating to our guests and played requests as they were asked. They were polite and professional and were both experienced at reading our guests and ensuring that all of the songs we requested were played. We loved working with them and definitely recommend them to anyone in the Syracuse area!

The Great Music Company was recommended to me by a friend who had used them for her wedding. We were able to customize everything to the way that we wanted it and we were given a guide which gave us suggestions of which songs to pick and which order to do things in. We would have been lost without it! The DJ on the wedding day was amazing. He was very helpful and made sure that things ran smoothly. He even got drinks for me during dinner so that I could finish eating. They did everything that we asked of them and played all of the songs we requested.

The Great Music Company provided the dj/music for our Daughter's Wedding August, 2012 and did a very nice job with some VERY specific requests. The Wedding was formal, beautiful and VERY traditional with a historic theme in a beautiful old venue that just did NOT call for the big ultra-modern dj set up with giant speakers overwhelming the room.. I did not want any speakers even SEEN!! They promised to use wireless in corners and under tables... and they did just that! Also wanted the music to be soft during dinner so guests could hear each other talk... it was, lol I actually had to ask them to turn it up a bit!! **They were respectful and VERY un-obtrusive, professional and did a GREAT job of MC-ing, coordinating with the staff so that the Wedding moved smoothly. Our DJ John had the most beautiful, deep, soothing voice and great personality. *Letitia on the phone was MOST pleasant, wonderfully professional, and amazingly available even with a busy schedule. Note to all Brides and anyone event planning, I would also advise to be VERRRY SPECIFIC about which rooms are being used if it's more than one so that sound/speakers will be distributed properly. The Great Music Co. was definitely GREAT and I would absolutely recommend. =)

Letitia (the owner) was really easy to get a hold of on the phone, returned calls promptly, and was really flexible when we needed to meet with her a couple days before the wedding. They send out an extensive packet to fill out which covers all of the basics about not only the music you want to hear but the atmosphere you want to create. On the day of, we had Jon (red hair) as our MC and Ken as our DJ. They were great...very low-key, relaxed, and friendly. Our wedding was small with only a handful of dancers but there were people on the dance floor all night. They played a good mix of music to appeal to all age groups and tastes and were good about playing requested music. I would highly recommend them and they come highly recommended by many local vendors. They were a bit more expensive than some of the other DJ companies in the area but I think they were worth it.

We were very happy with the Great Music Company! Letitia was very responsive and helpful from the beginning. I was worried by the huge packet to fill out - some of the suggestions in there are just awful! It was helpful in making us think through all of the details and the flow of the reception, though.

Our DJs were Letitia and her husband (I forget his name). They set-up their regular table and also supplied a speaker for our ceremony pianist. I didn't see the set-up for that, but apparently it didn't go terrible smoothly. In any case, it was set-up and working by the time of the ceremony.

Letitia and her husband both helped immensely with last minute fixes. My schedule hadn't really coordinated the time the photographer was leaving, so she got together with the DJs and they figured out a new plan.

We had a long and rather strange must-play list, and even though I could tell Letitia was skeptical when I talked to her, they played everything and people danced like crazy. They did a fantastic job keeping everyone dancing and they took some guest requests.

My older sister made it her mission to get them to play the chicken dance - which was on the do-not-play list. Letitia stood her ground and wouldn't play it!

Overall, very highly recommended.

In terms of being easy to work with, we enjoyed the Great Music Company. However, their selection of music during my reception was poor. I had gone the extra step to put together a list of music I wanted played at the reception which included high energy and current music. They barley played any of the songs on my list. Instead at the beginning of the reception they chose to play oldies and even when I had my bridesmaid attempt to speak with them about changing the music, they gave her a hard time. The dance floor was empty most of the night because of the music they played. Only when about half of my guests had left did they decide to play my music. Which was pointless. I didn't even get to do my last dance with my husband because they waited until the last minute after literally all my guests had left to play it. I did request it to be the last dance of the night but they should have taken into consideration when guests started to leave that they should have played it sooner. Most of my guests complaints stemmed from the poor choice in music. I wish they had stuck to the list I had given them.

Honestly quite a few Of my guests had the same relative complaint and they all came back to the dj. I wasn't thrilled with them. I said I wanted a high energy dj and I feel that isn't what I got at all. I wanted them to play a lot of different genres of music but I had to go up and tell them what to play a few times. They didn't play a whole lot of dancing music until most of my guests had left for the night. I also heard from my guests that no one knew what was going in because the dj didn't announce it well. For example the garder toss half the guys knew nothing about because the dj announced it so poorly. And also my dollar dance was not as good as it could have been because the dj waited so long to do it that half my guests had already gone home. This was the main concern I had with not knowing how the dj performed before the actual wedding.

I recently used Great Music Company for the DJ and MC at my wedding reception. I was disappointed with the quality of services we received and parts of our contract were not honored. Prior to my wedding day I had many conversations through email and on the phone with Letitia and we seemed to be on the same wavelength regarding the details and flow of the wedding. Everything we wanted from the DJ/MC seemed to be understood. I felt confident that the vision we had for the wedding would be realized, including the flow of the event, the detailed song choices and requests, and schedule of reception events. We felt everything was going well up until the wedding reception at which point we felt there was a breakdown. Prior to writing this review I contacted the company to discuss our disappointment however I never received a response. Every other email I sent before the wedding was responded to within 24 hours.

First and foremost, the MC Jennifer wore jeans to the wedding. I know our contract and information provided by Great Music Company informed us that the DJ and MC would be in formal attire, which they were not. A few guests mentioned it to me after the fact which upset me. The guests were wearing cocktail attire and jeans were not appropriate and were unprofessional.

We sent Letitia a detailed itinerary highlighting the order of the reception events (first dance, cake cutting, etc.) and selected songs for each event. Before the wedding we also filled out an instruction sheet provided to us by Great Music Company and had a telephone call to discuss the important details over the phone before the wedding since we were unable to meet in person. Great Music Company also has a detailed online system to allow customers to select songs for different wedding events and to provide an order of reception events. We spent many hours creating the itinerary, filling out Great Music Company's instruction sheet, and selecting music on the online system. During the reception, the DJ and MC did not follow the instructions we provided. They forgot the maid of honor and matron of honor's speeches, which we then had to squeeze in later in the evening, and they did not follow our instructions to cut the parent dance songs off after 3 minutes. They also did not know what first dance song we wanted and had to ask us right before we were supposed to dance. While we worked with these problems during the wedding so that no one noticed (well at least I thought no one noticed), it was disappointing to us that our directions and wishes were not respected. When I pointed out the forgotten speeches, the MC told me that those instructions were not provided, but I know for a fact they were. I even had to show her the list of speeches on her instructions which did include the maid of honor and matron of honor. It was frustrating to have to deal with this in the middle of our wedding reception. It was clear that we wasted our time providing instructions that the DJ and MC chose to ignore. While these complains are special to our event, no bride or groom should have their requests ignored by their DJ and MC.

When I was looking for a DJ last year I read other couples' reviews and remember reading one negative review that this company's DJ forgot to play an important song for the couple. At the time I thought the review was silly and petty. Now I realize how every couple has requests and ideas that are important to them and they all should be respected and followed. No matter how trivial these issues may seem, they were noticeable to guests and made us frustrated and annoyed in the middle of our wedding reception. Imagine having to smile at guests and pretend nothing was wrong while you know were talking about the DJ and MC's failures during the reception.

Finally, I found the MC's tone over the top for the event. It was more of a Bar Mitzvah or Sweet 16 tone than an adult wedding tone. This may be my fault as we discussed the MC should be somewhere between low energy and medium energy but my interpretation of those levels was very different from what we received.

The DJ and MC did a good job with the musical selections, playing the songs we requested and not playing songs on the do not play list. However overall I came away with a very bad impression of this company as many of out instructions were not respected. There were gaps and breakdowns in the services provided and they were noticeable to not only me but also my guests, which was a huge disappointment during an otherwise amazing evening. Imagine coming home from your honeymoon and having to hear from guests that loved the wedding but noticed the DJ and MC were subpar. We paid a lot of money thinking this company would help make our reception fun and memorable but some parts of it were memorable for the wrong reasons.
