    Great experience!

    I worked with Suzanne who was new at Gordon's for my wedding. We hit the ground running together and she offered great advice as to what to serve, and quantities to order. This was especially helpful as my husband had greatly overestimated what we would need, and Suzanne got us back on track. Gordon's delivered timely and efficiently to my venue, and the buyback and final invoice was done very quickly after my wedding as well. I was greatly satisfied with the service I got from Suzanne and her team, and most importantly, I feel like I got a really good value and was able to offer my guests a wonderful open bar experience for a fair price. I recommend Gordon's to everyone!

    Excellent and amazing value

    Super easy to work with. They know what they're doing and provided great guidance in terms of what to order and in what quantity. Buy back of extras was processed automatically, no extra work on our end!

    Gordon's is amazing and we loved Suzanne!

    I worked with Suzanne at Gordon's when planning for the alcohol needs for my wedding in September of 2021. From the moment I met Suzanne, I was struck by her energy and enthusiasm. She is a great listener, taking care to make sure she understood exactly what I needed. She made some recommendations, and was so knowledgeable about the different possible choices. I'm so glad I listened to Suzanne, because I ended up with the perfect amount needed for my guests, and everyone commented in particular, on how much they liked the wine selections.

    Thank goodness for Suzanne. I felt so overwhelmed and confused by all the choices, and she walked me through everything patiently and skillfully.

    I would 100% recommend working with Gordon's for your beverage needs, and if you are lucky enough to work with Suzanne, you will be in great hands!

    We ordered wine and beer for a 130-person wedding and Gordon's was amazing to work with! I initially called about 6 months before the wedding and asked about pricing, ordering, etc, and Leslie answered all of my questions and reassured me about timing and ordering. When I called back a few weeks before the wedding to make our final order, she was fantastic about advising how much of each type of wine/beer to order and making suggestions on how to get the most bang for our buck. On our wedding day, delivery was on time and accurate. The best part is, Gordon's will buy back any unopened wine bottles and cases of beer, so we ended up spending much less than our initial budget! We've always gone to Gordon's as a liquor store but would highly recommend their beverage catering services as well. Thanks, Gordon's!

    Leslie at Gordon’s was very pleasant and patient as I figured out my menu for my wedding, and helpful when it happened somewhat last minute that a family member would be assisting in the selection and taking care of the bill. I had a very good experience with Gordon’s!

    Gordon's was such a great value. They have a huge selection of beer, wine, and liquor and you can pick anything you want to set up the bar exactly how you want. The tasting events are really helpful to go to - we picked all of our wine based on what we tried there.

    They will buy back any unopened alcohol after the wedding so you don't have to worry at all about guessing the right amount to buy of anything.

    Kind and Helpful

    Suzanne at Gordon's was very helpful and great about answering all of our questions! She had good suggestions and helped us with our signature cocktails. We did end up running out of beer, but guests didn't seem to notice as there were plenty of other things to drink.

    Very Professional, Despite Mixup

    Although we had a mixup of communication on what we requested for our event, the staff at Gordon's responded extremely professionally, and with upmost respect.

    Leslie at Gordon's was fabulous. She broke down the cost of all of the different elements that we wanted so that we knew how we could keep our order within budget. The final invoice even came in under budget! Our guests were very happy with our selections, several of which Leslie recommended when I wasn't sure which brand of wine we wanted.

    It also couldn't have been easier! They arranged all of the drop off and pick up with the location's event coordinator. It was a little hard to get in touch with them initially because they were so busy, but once we initially spoke, they were really good about getting back to us. We scheduled a time to discuss the final order and Leslie called me directly at that time, which was a good thing because it had completely slipped my mind!

    All in all, an excellent experience. I highly recommend working with Gordon's or another consignment store. It's wonderful not to have to worry about ordering too much or too little. They take whatever is unopened back with them, and you don't get charged for what you don't use. They even calculated in the bottles that got returned and subtracted the amount from our bill, which I thought was a very honest and considerate detail.

    We decided to use Gordon's on the referral of our venue coordinator and our caterer, and we really couldn't have been much happier unless we had to do nothing at all (i.e., a venue with a bar would have been the only easier option). We knew that we only wanted to offer beer, wine and a few signature cocktails rather than a full bar. Our signature drinks were based on mixers made by the caterer, and we knew what we wanted to offer for beer, but I was pretty clueless about what to offer for wines. Leslie was great and made wonderful suggestions to pair with our food choices. I attended a wine and beer tasting at Gordon's prior to the wedding with a friend of mine, which was really fun. I ended up making some changes pretty last minute (i.e., offering 3 reds and 3 whites rather than 2 of each, adding a rosé, upgrading the liquor for the signature drinks to top shelf, and adding an additional specialty cocktail!), and it posed no problem at all for Leslie. She was pleasant and professional and accommodated our requests at every turn. Highly recommended!!!

    We had no trouble with any of our beverages, thanks to Gordon's. We only offered beer, wine, and soft drinks, and we already knew which beers we wanted at the bar. Rick Gordon met with us a few months before the wedding, and he suggested several wines that worked with our budget. We chose from among his recommendations and later made one alteration to the list. Everything we requested was supplied correctly and in adequate quantities. Getting the final invoice with the breakdown of all beverages consumed during the 5-hour reception was fascinating! We added a rose wine on Mr. Gordon's suggestion, and it was the second most popular wine of the evening--we would never have thought to include it on our own!

    In general, the store estimated the quantities very well. Nothing extra needed to be brought to the venue during the reception, and not a lot was returned at the end of the night. We appreciated knowing that any unopened bottles would be returned to the store at no cost to us, and the final bill was surprisingly small.

    We used Gordon's Wine and Liquors for beverage catering. We met with Leslie a few weeks before the wedding, and she was all business, which was fine with me. She went through all the options, as well as a few suggestions for each, like which white wine and red wine would be good at each price point, etc. as she filled out our order form. My father in law specified that he wanted a different kind of whiskey (Seagrams VO, rather than Crown Royal), and that was really the only thing that was important to him. Also, we were assured that they would send far more than enough alcohol, since it's a consumption service, and they come back to pick up whatever you don't use.

    Now on the day of the wedding, halfway through dinner, I go outside to greet some guests, and I see my new husband on the phone, and wonder who could he possibly be on the phone with at his own wedding? Well, it was Gordon's, because we had run out of beer. After only TWO hours of a FIVE hour wedding. And the bartender said that we were definitely not drinking any more than average. Fortunately, my husband caught the manager before he left, and he sent over more beer, but it was warm (to an already in process event?) and they didn't even apologize or offer to give us a discount or anything. On top of that, they brought Crown Royal, instead of VO, which we had been very specific about asking for. In the end, they charged us for the VO instead of the Crown Royal, but personally I was much more upset about the fact that they assured us that they'd bring more than enough alcohol, and they only brought enough for two hours.

    In the end, the amount of money we saved by bringing our our alcohol is probably worth the grief, but if I had to do it again, I'd probably shop around to other liquor stores. We only chose Gordon's because they have a key to the store room at our venue.

    Good selection, miserable plan execution

    We worked with Suzanne at Gordan's for our August 2022 wedding. Gordon's came recommended to us by our venue and we were impressed by the good review so opted to work with them over our catering team to provide alcohol for our wedding. We wish we had gone with our catering team. While we had positive interactions in person with the staff at Gordon's, we cannot recommend Gordon's due to Suzanne.

    Working with Suzanne was like pulling teeth. Suzanne had just taken over for events when we got in touch with Gordon's seven months before our wedding. We got on a phone call with her and explained our vision for the bar program at our wedding. We needed wine, liquor for signature cocktails and a few other cocktails, and beer in kegs for our mobile bar. On our initial call, she had trouble giving recommendations, we said the beer was important to us and she said she didn't really know the beer program, nor did she know what was needed for our signature cocktails. For someone who works for a liquor supplier she seems to not be very educated in the field and at planning liquor for events beyond a very basic bar menu. We left the call feeling concerned and followed up with her via email. The email interactions were very frustrating, she seemed to not understand what we were asking and was of no help, only making things more confusing to plan.

    She sent us an initial proposal of what we should order through Gordon's for the wedding and to be honest, the proposal was a joke. It omitted many items we specifically asked for and more importantly the quoted quantity was way off! We would have run out of liquor, beer, and wine within two hours if we had gone with her suggestions. She insisted that the proposal was exactly what we needed.

    Thankfully we had the sense to question her proposal and talk to friends in the events industry and our coordinator and they agreed that her proposal would leave us running out of alcohol early into the wedding reception. We sent her a list of everything we needed to order and the quantity we wanted. She fought us for months on it with my now husband going back in forth with her on emails and over the phone. She told us we were ordering to much, she marked items as no buy back even though they were stocked in store (we think mostly because she was upset at us for questioning her) and would send back order lists with items still missing even though we sent her an email with everything we wanted on it including quantities! We accepted that there would be no buy back on many items, we said we wanted the amount we wanted even if she didn't agree, and she still fought us on everything. It was painful up until the wedding day. Our coordinator at the venue even mentioned that other couples were also struggling to work with Suzanne and had complained to the venue coordinator about her.

    Then on our wedding day things we ordered were missing and things we never ordered, or even made sense as a substitute, were delivered. Our wedding coordinator noticed many of the missing items and had to get Gordon's to double check the truck for the right things. A bunch of random beers (corona's, craft beer cans, etc) were sent and caused the kegs that were purchased to not get used as much. We ended up running out of tequila (an item Suzanne told us we ordered way to much of) which wasn't the end of the world, we were just glad we didn't go with Suzanne's original quantity suggestion! Most upsetting, was a big mistake that was made at the store where bottles of high proof whiskey were sent for our signature cocktails and caused the signature cocktail to be way too strong and guests to be overserved.

    A couple of weeks after the wedding, we went in store to pick up the extra
    alcohol that fell under the no buy back policy. We talked with several members
    of the staff about our negative experience with Suzanne and they were courteous and understanding, even making remarks about Suzanne not being great at her job. We have nothing but positive things to say about the associates we met with in the Waltham location. They helped us track down our leftover alcohol that they were unable to locate for over 30 minutes as Suzanne had not communicated to them where it was. We also worked with the billing department and were able to get partially refunds on some items and the high proof that we never ordered. While our wedding was amazing, it was super disappointing how painful the process of ordering alcohol through Suzanne at Gordon's was. She was unprofessional and terrible at managing our event or even just following a list of items to order and deliver. The bar program was really important to both of us, and it was disappointing to see so many things go wrong. Due to all of this we cannot recommend working with Gordon's, specifically Suzanne, for your wedding.
