I don't think I'll be able to adequately describe the magic that Good Seed Floral is able to create for all its couples, but they are more than deserving of an attempt to do so. In short, Josie is a dream maker.
We told Josie that we wanted arrangements that paid tribute to my culture (I was born in the Philippines!), especially since we weren't able to celebrate with my family from abroad due to COVID. We wanted to bring in elements from the rich Filipino tradition in a modern way. Her work made my jaws drop, and on our wedding day, she transported me back to my Grandpa's garden growing up in the Philippines. Seeing the artistic arrangements of orchids and beautiful tropical flowers adorning certain areas of our day was truly a sight to see. I could tell that their team thoroughly researched their work, and it made our day all the more meaningful. In addition, I didn't have much else to tell Josie with regards to the design other than a feel and the color of my bridesmaids' dresses; she just knew what to do!
We also had a wedding on a budget, but Josie was able to make it work and make our vision come true nonetheless, and do it so beautifully.
Good Seed Floral is a special team, so very talented and will make your day what you have always dreamed it to be. Don't hesitate to book Josie, not only for her talent, but for who she and her team are. They are kind, dedicated, and passionate about their work. I am forever thankful for them for creating the most beautiful day, one we'll never forget. Thank you times a million, Josie! -

Absolutely incredible
I could not complement Good Seed Floral more. They were absolutely wonderful to work with, easy to communicate with, respectful and kind. They catered to my every specific request, down to the detail but also exceeded in areas where I gave them space for their own creativity and ideas! I wish I could hire them for every event, the flowers were absolutely beautiful. By far tome of the best decisions I made for our wedding day. So happy with them! -

Planning a wedding can be stressful and planning it from another country, even more so! But Good Seed Floral Design was the perfect match! I fell in love with all the flowers the moment I walked into our venue. Joanna and Taylor were an absolute joy to work with. They downloaded WhatsApp to speak with me and took the different time zones into consideration. They REALLY listened to my vision and ideas. When I got off the phone with Taylor I thought, "Can I be best friends with her?!" I was blown away by the proposal. They just get it! I could not recommend these professional florists highly enough. I loved every floral element they brought to our beautiful day. Thank you, ladies! -

Good seed floral was a dream to work with!! They made my wedding vision come to life for my wedding and if you've ever planned an event and had to hand off key elements to someone else you know how hard it is for someone else to actually execute what's in your head! But the best part of all, was the whole wedding planning process was so stress free!! Sure, florals are expensive, but quite honestly if I could do it again, the only changes I would make would be to spend the extra money on top professional in ever department instead of just a few. Hiring the best of the best is worth every worry free moment and that's exaxtly what you get when you hire Good Seed Floral! -

Lisa Sent on 08/03/2018Hiring a florist for your wedding can be a seriously daunting task in the midst of so many amazing florists in the Portland, OR area. Good Seed Floral had me at hello, really. I was referred to Good Seed, along with many other badass babes in the industry. As soon as I laid eyes on their past/current work (via Instagram), I KNEW they were the ladies for me! I actually hired them initially for my engagement bouquet in Feb. 2017 and they stunned me so much with their creation that I contacted them again as soon as we set an official wedding date, which was July 2018! I know I could have inquired elsewhere or interviewed with other florists, but I just had no reason to, as I pretty much struck gold with Good Seed! Not to mention, they work closely with a lot of other vendors I had hired and I knew it was just perfection. Good Seed stunned me with not only my wild, boho bouquet, & floral decor, but my alter installation was seriously jaw-dropping!!! I keep looking at this same picture of my ceremony and think, "Wow, these ladies seriously killed it!". Words will never do justice to their work on my most favorite day yet. If you're looking for a florist in the Portland, OR or Austin, TX area - HIRE THESE LADIES!!! You will not regret a thing! Thank you SO much Josie + Tay, you are some bad ladies!!!

Alison Sent on 06/14/2018Josie & Taylor were amazing to work with. They were collaborative, patient & so kind/thoughtful throughout the planning process. We had so much fun bouncing ideas off of them as we were planning out every detail of our wedding. They were eager to try new things & these ladies truly brought our vision to life. We were blown away with how beautiful all of the flowers and details turned out. Our wedding wouldn't have been the same without their talents! I highly recommend Good Seed. They are best in class.

Lena Sent on 11/28/2017Taylor and Joanna are the loveliest people to work with EVER! I am drawn to the creative and free-flowing style that they have and always wanted to have them be a part of my wedding. It was such a dream come true to work with them. When I heard Joanna moved to Texas ad Taylor was in Portland, I was nervous that communication would get muddled, but that NEVER happened. Somehow Joanna and Taylor were always on the same page. Joanna managed my proposal after Taylor sat down with me and my fiancé about our vision. I tried to be the best and easiest bride, but I still changed the proposal several times. I had a sudden need to add a bouquet to my engagement session and (after months of not wanting boutonnieres) last minute my fiancé really wanted all the guys to have bouts. Joanna was always so sweet and quick to change the proposal and costs for me. I even messaged Taylor kinda nervous about how my wedding dress choice would mesh with my floral decisions. Taylor put me at ease and told me she'd make my bouquet mesh with the texture of my dress while staying in line with what my vision was. When I heard Taylor was going to be almost 9 months pregnant on my wedding date, I again had some worries. Of course I really wanted Taylor to be the one to create and set up my florals, but I also understood the 3.5 hour drive probably wouldn't be the best idea for her! Of course they had already been working with an awesome assistant the whole summer who was very capable of delivering my florals and setting it all up. It all turned out so great. Even though I couldn't quite explain what I wanted, Taylor turned what I described into exactly what I wanted. I was so relaxed on my wedding day and enjoying getting ready with my girls, I didn't even see the ceremony and reception areas until I was walking down the aisle. Then I was able to enjoy all of the beautiful floral details in the moment. When you hire professionals like Good Seed Floral, that's what you get to do. -

Both turned out to be so much more elegant and beautiful than I thought possible, I absolutely loved working with these girls!

My forte is certainly not floral arrangements, but just by meeting once she was able to take the pictures showed & descriptions of my vision to bring to life. Incredibly flexible, attentive and responsive - she was able to take requests even as we got closer to the wedding. Good Seed was another wonderful vendor to work with and made the planning process that much smoother! -

To be honest... of all the vendors I hired for our wedding, I was most disappointed in my choice of Good Seed Floral. Many consider them to be the "best" in Texas, so they were one of the first vendors I booked (almost two years in advance). Following my initial proposal, we spoke a handful of times and communicated via email. Being that I booked them so far ahead - of course, our vibe and style had changed a bit - all changes wants and desires were communicated thoroughly to their team. I was reassured that our vision would come to life and that the white, modern look that I wanted would be achieved. I was very adamant about no browns, no pinks, and absolutely NO pampas grass...
Fast forward to our wedding day, two women, that I never communicated with, showed up with BROWN FLORAL ACCENTS, BLUSH FLORALS AND POMPAS GRASS. I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I had them rearrange bouquets and remove all of the brown boho elements... but there was only so much I could say and so much they could do. I just went with it because I was not trying to have a mental breakdown on my wedding day. Although I should have because we spent close to 7k on flowers and it was NOTHING close to what I envisioned, dreamed of, or thought I was investing in.
It gets worse... I was never asked to check our floral chandelier installation - which looked as if it was covered in brown burnt grass elements they picked from a field nearby and very few white roses... it looked nothing like our inspo photo. I cried for days after our wedding because it looked so bad... to the point where Good Seed offered to pay our photographer to photoshop it out of all of our ceremony photos.
Our look was meant to be almost all white roses, modern and chic. Weeks before our wedding they had posted on their story about a "white rose shortage." I asked them if we were "safe" and if this was going to affect our look and I was assured that it was not.
Well.... it did and I was duped. I get so upset when looking through their Instagram of all of their beautiful modern installations that I wanted but failed to receive.
It was almost as if they did not care and thought to themselves, eh we can get away with it - she won't mind... even other vendors made comments about how their work did not align with our vibe and style at all.
It was so disheartening and disappointing. The owner of Good Seed was also disappointed in their work... so dissatisfied that she refunded us for some of the installations.
I am not here to bash them but to give my honest opinion and experience working with them. If I could go back in time and change anything about our wedding day.... it would have been our choice in florist.
