The cake was perfect--tasted amazing, (white w/ raspberry, chocolate/pb, lemon) and looked exactly like we'd imagined.
The service was great too. Maurice made us feel at home with the tasting, and worked with us to get exactly what we needed for the number of guests and desired aesthetic at our price point. Communication was easy, Gold Ribbon Confections arrived exactly when they were asked to and set up the cake very professionally alongside our florist.
We keep going back to order cakes for birthdays, anniversaries, or any time we're in Arlington. Would recommend to anybody looking for a wedding cake in the DFW area.

Our wedding cakes were FANTASTIC. Gold Ribbon Confections were so accommodating helping us to stay in budget while also getting both a bride and grooms cake, both of which were beautiful. We asked for the grooms cake to be golf themed and it turned out even better than the inspiration picture I sent. And the wedding cake was so classic and clean, a true beauty. More importantly than looks, they tasted amazing. We had multiple guests come up to us and say that it was the best wedding cake they’ve ever had. They were not wrong. They also were super helpful in letting us rent cake stands and answering any questions that popped up along the way. And when you thought they couldn’t get any better, a portion of every sale goes to help children fighting cancer. PLEASE look no where else.

Maurice was such a nice person to work with, and we loved his story of how he began this business in honor of his son! My husband and I loved his genuineness. It was the first cake tasting we went to and we knew immediately that this is where we wanted to get our wedding cake from. It was hard to choose from the flavors, bc all of them were so good, but we finally ended up going with the Raspberry Buttercream. I usually don’t like anything that’s raspberry-flavored or anything fruity, but this was so subtle and delicious! We received many compliments from our guests about how good the cake was.
Kylie from the team was very helpful and prompt later on when I needed to communicate changes about the cake delivery times and such, very accommodating! They delivered and set up the cake just as we had discussed. We would definitely recommend Gold Ribbon Confections for your wedding cake or any events you’d need cakes for!

From the beginning Maurice was great to work with! We scheduled a tasting and his presentation was very nice. We could really see his passion for the bakery. My husband and I got married last summer, and Maurice did our cake, cupcakes, and gluten-free pie. Everything was delicious. I wish I ordered extras, so I would have had some leftovers! Maurice even customized our fourth cupcake flavor! My husband and I both really like the combination of chocolate and cinnamon, and the chocolate cinnamon cupcake we had at our wedding was the best cake I ever ate. SO GOOD! I definitely recommend. The desserts are delicious, and he supports local charities, too!

December 2019 Wedding
Maurice is the most down to earth man I have met. His passion for baking, specifically in inspiration for his son that passed away, Micah after a long battle against Neuroblastoma is very evident. When we went to the cake testing he made the experience very difficult, since all the flavors were so tasty. He made a bride and grooms cake in which both were so beautiful and very delicious. Although we had significantly more servings of the cake than we had guests we still ran out since everyone loved both cakes so much they went back for seconds. His kind heart, strive for perfection, and delicious baking skills are some of the many reasons why I recommend him so much!

Maurice did a great job with our cakes. We had a three-tiered cake with forestation on it to represent our love of hiking and it looked a little complicated, but when we saw the cake it was EXACTLY like the photo. We also asked him to create a suitcase groom's cake, which he also nailed (weird request I know). The cake pops were so good that our guests ate them before we cut the cake; same with the cookies. He did a really good job of contacting me in advance of the day to review details and he was probably one of two vendors that I felt zero stress about. Would hire again.

Maurice blew every bakery OUT OF THE WATER! Finding a truly delicious cake is not easy, we tasted several all around DFW! After meeting with him, my now husband and I were both so in love with all of his cake flavors that we picked them all! He was professional, kind, caring and responsive! Two months after our wedding, our friends and family are STILL raving About how delicious our wedding cake, cupcakes and cake pops were! To this day, my husband still craves them! My bride picked this bakery and as a planner they were awesome to work with! They arrived right on time as scheduled, answered every phone call and double checked with me, and did me a solid by adding the flowers from the florist on to the cake. We had a small wedding with about 30 people, and Maurice treated us as if we had a huge order and 250 guests. When we sat down to discuss what we wanted and have a tasting he was super personable and helpful, and the tasting was awesome. We chose to do a small wedding cake on top of a cupcake tower with 6 dozen cupcakes because we couldn’t choose a flavor. He was extremely accommodating, flexible, and the whole thing was a great experience. And then... the dessert!! The Italian cream wedding cake was amazing, and the cupcakes were ridiculously moist and flavorful. My favorites were lemon, raspberry cream, and carrot, but everything was great. He delivered everything and set it up, and was just so easy to work with. I honestly can’t recommend Gold Ribbon Confections highly enough. Just outstanding owner and cakes!

Maurice was so responsive to every text and question! He wanted to know what I wanted the cake to be and cared very much about getting it right. The cake was on the table and ready from the beginning of the reception and was literally the most beautiful cake I’ve ever seen! I asked for a lemon blackberry cheesecake, which is very hard to put into tiers, but Maurice rose to the task and it was absolutely perfect. Would recommend over and over again!

After a long search we came across Gold Ribbon Confections and were fascinated by its design and art. Most important in our case was his flexibility and experience working with different dietary restrictions, providing options such as vegan, dairy free, gluten free cakes at no additional cost or fees. We were privileged to have work with Maurice for our wedding this past March 2019, the passion he has for what he does impressed me the most. We had the opportunity to meet him prior to the event for a tasting. He was very flexible with the meeting point since we were far from the Arlington area. We were obsessed with the white cake raspberry filled buttercream cake, and everybody loved it as well. Great Desserts with an Even Better Story
I met Maurice and Gold Ribbon Confections when they brought the best mini apple pie I've ever eaten to my offices. After tasting that sample, I knew I had to have Maurice bake up some desserts for our wedding, and good thing he did! Maurice is very personable and easy to work with. Got exactly what we asked for. Daughter wanted cheesecake instead of traditional brides cake and it was delicious. Grooms cake was exact picture we showed him. Foody family raved!!!

Amazing desserts! Everyone loved them!
Maurice is wonderful to work with, responds quickly, and he's willing to be flexible and work with you. Plus his desserts are amazing!! His cheesecake is to die for! I went to Urban Alchemy Coffee + Wine Bar in Arlington to try different flavors before the wedding to pick a flavor, but the day of I only got some because my brother let me have a bite! Everyone loved our desserts, we had a small 6" cake, two dozen cupcakes, three dozen cookies, and a cheesecake. We only took home the part of the cake they packaged for us and three cookies! We got to have a good mix of different desserts like I wanted because his prices are so reasonable. Since the weeding everyone's been telling me how delisicous the desserts were! Go with Maurice!! You absolutely won't regret it and your guests will love the desserts!

The best cake- everyone will be talking about it!
The cakes were amazing, and both were delicious. We wish there was left over cake for us to still eat! Maurice was so fun to work with! My husband wanted a golf-themed Groom's Cake, and he knocked it out of the park with his creativity! We absolutely loved both of our cakes, and had many people ask where the cakes came from. My father-in-law has a gluten allergy, and Maurice was able to make a special batch of cupcakes just for him to enjoy at our wedding, he was so happy! My father-in-law now wants us to use Golden Ribbon for all of life's celebrations.

I LOVED the cake Maurice made for my wedding! The chocolate tier was sooo delicious, everyone kept asking who made it. That tier went so fast, I couldn’t even get another piece. Maurice was great to work with, he worked with me when I had to change my cake to a bigger size. I definitely recommend him to everyone and if I ever need a cake again, I know who to turn to.

Two-Tier Wedding Cake with only 2 1/2 week notice.
Responded to my initial inquiry while out of the country on the beach. Cake was made per photo and discussion and delivered without issue. Service is AMAZING!
The taste of the cake was excellent. I love moist chocolate cake, but rarely have because it is generally dry. Not this one! Very moist. Although it was hard to beat the vanilla raspberry tier. TASTE - top notch!

I highly recommend Gold Ribbon confection. He did a awesome job on our son wedding cake. It was exactly like the picture we had sent him. The cake was a strawberry butter cream. It was so delicious. We could not do a cake tasting and he recommended that one. We did everything though text and email with no problem. Marice was great thought all this. So if you r looking for a cake for any occasion I recommend you pick him. I will definitely be using him for our next big event.

Maurice is seriously the most incredible cake baker!! I taste tested with several wedding cake bakers in Fort Worth and Maurice was by far the best! Not only were his cakes incredible yummy and moist, but but he was also so amazing to work with. When my mom was super stressed about the design of cake I wanted, Maurice handled it with such ease. He has such a calming and kind presence that is so needed when wedding planning. You would be making a mistake if you do not have Maurice make your wedding cakes!!! :)

Simply the BEST! Quality, Originality, Authentic and Genuine are not only words that describe these delicious creations, but also the man who creates them. Maurice has a talent to diligently create your vision for any occasion. His cakes have brought smiles to my children, his cheesecakes have brought desert before dinner, his cookies have lit up children from homes to hospitals. Maurice was an angel and I am so glad I found him when looking for my wedding cake. I planned my Texas wedding from Pittsburgh and he was so good with emailing and texting me pictures of samples. I completely trusted him with the designs and flavors. The guests could not get enough of both the cake and the groom espresso cheesecake. It was honestly the best white cake I've ever had. I called Maurice to make me a cake for my one year wedding anniversary. I asked him to replicate my wedding cake but put his own spin on it, and he did a great job. Add the cause on top of that, and Gold Ribbon Confections is a home run. Also, I haven't tried his cheesecakes yet, but they look so good.

Other than a minor confusion about time, all was fantastic. The cake arrived on time and tasted amazing. Each layer was a different scrumptious flavor. The decorations were exactly what my daughter wanted and the pricing was more than fair. This was some of the best cake I’ve ever eaten.

Gold Ribbon provided our daughter’s beautiful wedding cake. The cake was gorgeous and exactly what our daughter was looking for. The flavors were amazing and again, exactly what we had envisioned. Maurice is so easy to work with and goes above and beyond to meet your needs. Professionalism and attention to detail are just two of the positives we could touch on. In addition to the brides cake, Gold Ribbon also prepared the most delicious pecan bites as the groom’s dessert. Once again, we were not disappointed.
Gold Ribbon has met our bakery needs for showers, birthdays and holidays. We highly recommend Maurice and Gold Ribbon for all your baking needs.

Maurice was amazing all-around - I can't recommend him enough! The cake was beautiful, and my guests are still talking about how delicious it was. And he gave me the best price around! Trust me - go with this guy!

Gold Ribbon Confections provides the bride’s and groom’s cakes for my daughter’s wedding - as well as gluten free cupcakes. Everyone was asking who made our cakes - and the gluten free cupcakes were the best gf baked good I’ve had!
