Danielle did our engagement photos and photographed our wedding and she did an absolutely amazing job! Her photos are the best I have ever seen! Everyone loves our photos and compliments them still to this day. Definitely worth the money. She was professional (yet very kind) and so very sweet. We would definitely recommend her to anyone!! The Absolute Best Photographer
Danielle shot our engagement photos and our wedding. Although this review is before we receive our wedding gallery back, I am confident that it will be absolutely stunning. Danielle is a joy to work with, very responsive and flexible. She offers guidance and direction, is very observant and has great ideas! She made us feel comfortable, important and cared for, she even bustled my dress for me before our cocktail hour entrance! Absolutely Amazing!!
Danielle is simply amazing. We have been using her since our engagement photos, which were picture perfect, and we have continued using her as our family has grown to now three children. She has taken breath-taking photos that will last a lifetime! If you have ever tried to get pictures with children, you can understand how stressful it becomes, and she is amazing at making sure we have not one or a few, but multiple pictures that we absolutely love!!
I am huge on the Pinterest inspiration and I show her what I really like and she is able to do that for us! It comes out picture perfect just like I see on the Internet!
She is not pushy or demanding and lets you lead it but if you ask her for advice or help, she is more than willing to give it to you! She gives you tips on posture that will make the pictures look better and it is so incredibly helpful!!!

Taughannock Micro Wedding
We hired Danielle to shoot our micro wedding in may 2023. Danielle was reasonably priced for the coverage we were looking for this type of event. We are not local and had never been to the finger lakes area so we relied on Danielle’s expertise a lot in recommending a timeline for our day locations to shoot at taughannock etc. Danielle was flexible friendly and easy to work with. We had great communication throughout the process leading up to our wedding and the day of she was professional and listened to getting the pictures we desired to have and recommending spots to go even helping us to include our dogs in our special day. She hiked with us to the falls and recommended some beautiful spots to take our photos at the park. Our pictures were turned around quickly and turned out fantastic and we are so happy that she was the photographer we chose for our special day.

We deeply enjoyed working with Danielle for our wedding in 2023 and our engagement photos in 2021. (She was one of our favorite and most trusted vendors in the whole experience!) We used Danielle for our engagement photos and our wedding day and couldn't have been happier with the final product! Danielle is so easy to work with- she is very responsive and called me quickly after my initial inquiry to get to know us and discuss what we were looking for. Danielle is a true professional and clearly very experienced in what she does- from guiding us into various poses and setting up unique shots, to getting our list of "must have shots" and specific people we wanted to make sure were in our pictures, to helping organize our guests the day off- I was so surprised with how quickly and efficiently we got our post-ceremony pictures done so that we could enjoy the time with our guests! We got our pictures back quickly and the platform to view and download was very easy to use.
It can be so overwhelming to choose each vendor for your big day and it was so important to us that we chose a photographer that understood what we were looking for, was experienced, kind and produces high quality work- I am so glad we chose Danielle!

Danielle and her assistant took so many beautiful pictures that it’s going to be hard to decide which pictures to use for the album and pictures. She was so professional and we hardly knew her and her assistant we there. She was very efficient and knew exactly what pictures to take. She was kind, accommodating, responsive, and an amazing photographer to work with! Our photos came out STUNNING. I could not have asked for a better person to work with; my husband and I are not the most photogenic of people nor do we know how to pose for pictures at all, and Danielle made us feel so comfortable and got amazing shots. I presented her with quite the challenge of having to organize and take a lot of family photos (I have a huge family and my husband has a blended family, so there were lots of photos needed) and she didn't skip a beat and handled it with grace. The album she sent us afterwards was also so beautiful and professionally done! I would 100% work with her again!!

We worked with Danielle for our September wedding and could not be happier with our photos! Danielle was very easy to work with and kept in touch throughout the planning process, making sure she knew exactly what we wanted on our wedding day and helped us create a timeline. During our wedding, Danielle did not stop working once! She photographed every detail. When we were done with wedding party photos she took the opportunity to get great photos of our ceremony and reception sites before guests arrived. We were pleasantly surprised with all of the angles she captured during our ceremony, she must have never stopped moving around to get the best shot! During the reception she must have went up and down the barn stairs a hundred times so she could photograph everyone. She got our photos to us in great time and every single one looks stunning.

Danielle was absolutely amazing, before, during, and after the wedding. She was extremely communicative and on top of the prep, extremely go with the flow the day of (but knew when to step in and direct if needed), and the photos were unreal. Wonderful Wedding
Months later and we still have people reaching out to us raving over our beautiful photos that Danielle captured at our wedding in Canandaigua, New York. Danielle was wonderful throughout the entire experience, from Zoom calls mid pandemic trying to navigate what the day will actually look like, to capturing incredible moments the day of. She was always accessible, listened intently to what we were looking for in our photos, and over all just a joy to work with. To have someone so calming and gentle during an exciting, albeit stressful and vulnerable day, was such a comfort for us. She accurately captured the photos we were envisioning, and brought her own unique talent of reading the moment and finding the perfect image - not only as a photographer reading the lighting and scenery, but also reading people. She could tell when my husband and I were “fading” and our smiles becoming stiff- knowing to encourage us to eat, have a drink, and overall enjoy ourselves! Danielle is a fierce one woman show with so much talent. Her work is beautiful! She did such an incredible job on our wedding day.
We had the pleasure of working with Danielle in October 2021. Even in the face of all of the pandemic craziness and rescheduling (we had to set three dates!), Danielle was extremely supportive and accommodating. She was always prompt to respond to my emails and panicked questions when it came to COVID issues. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Danielle is clearly a seasoned professional, which is not something that should be taken for granted. Now having gone through the wedding planning stress, I am so grateful to have had a photographer who knew exactly what we would want for our finished product. She made us feel so comfortable and worked tirelessly for us all day, suggesting poses, locations, etc. She was very good at giving us directions that made all of our photos feel like us. She really captured the love we felt.
Danielle shared a few stunning sneak peaks in the week following, which we were extremely grateful for. We then received a user friendly online portal to view and download our photos, as well as a USB with all of the files. We have so many beautiful shots, I don't even know which ones to frame!
Overall, Danielle is AMAZING! If she is available for your date, don't hesitate to book her.

We were nervous we would feel awkward but taking the photos felt like we were doing something with a friend - who also gives slight direction to help make your pictures look great. Amazing experience and amazing photos
From the first time I met Danielle I knew she was the person I wanted to photograph my wedding. She was willing to listen to everything we wanted and also help us figure out the best way to get what we wanted. She was quick to respond to emails and phone calls. We had several meetings to go over all the details. On the day of the actual wedding she was so helpful and made me feel comfortable throughout the evening. She asked us the kinds of photos we wanted and made sure to do those and then she also added in her own style which I loved! After the wedding was over in less then a week we got a sneak peak of some of the photos she took which were amazing! And in less than a month we had all of our photos! Danielle was super personable and made our wedding feel so special. I would hire her again for other types photos.

Danielle could not have been more accommodating after we asked her to photograph our elopement during the COVID-19 pandemic, in December 2020. From our first phonecall with her, she assuaged all our worries about the logistical details and was extremely flexible in her approach. On the day itself, it was just her and us and she made us feel very comfortable. We never planned to do engagement photos but then when COVID postponed our big day, we were gifted a session with Danielle. We never realized taking pictures could be so fun, but Danielle made it easy to relax and look beautiful without trying!! Perfect wedding photographer/ experience!
We had our wedding after many changes during COVID 19 pandemic. From the beginning my main priority was a photographer that would blow everyone away! Because let’s face it the photos are what we have once the big day comes to an end. Danielle was nothing shy of amazing! She was professional, accommodating, and our photos are BEAUTIFUL! Danielle is AMAZING! When my fiance and I were thinking of eloping after having to postpone our larger celebration due to covid, I reached out to Danielle to inquire about elopement packages. She gave us a custom quote based on our unique needs. From the beginning she was incredibly helpful in the planning process and even helped us pick out our ceremony location at Taughannock Falls.
The day of our wedding, she made us both feel at ease and we got some incredible shots while hiking around the falls. She sent us a sneak peak of the photos a few days later and we got our full gallery within 10 days. The photos are STUNNING. We are so glad we found Danielle!! She truly captured out intimate wedding day perfectly.

Danielle was AMAZING to work with from start to finish! Our original 150+ August 2020 Finger Lakes wedding had to be re-worked due to COVID-19 into a micro-wedding with just 16 total people. When I reached out to Danielle about this, she had no problem with changing our original package to an hourly package (and we still got edited photos!) so we could cover our details, ceremony, family formals, and part of our reception (to get shots of cake cutting and toasts). We received all the photos back WAY earlier than expected, which was great and they turned out so beautifully! I'm so happy with how they turned out and that we didn't cancel having a photographer this year! Leading up to the wedding, Danielle was super responsive and always happy to answer any questions I had. She was fantastic to work with the day of and was super organized. Danielle is so sweet and I am so glad that we're able to work with her again for our 2021 planned reception!

Best Photographer!
I had worked with Danielle for senior pictures and family pictures before, so when we got engaged she was one of the first people we contacted. She’s very responsive and flexible – we had a few ideas about places we wanted to take pictures at and ended up changing a couple of things the day of due to weather, and she also ended up staying at the reception later than planned. She was great at giving direction while still making us feel completely comfortable and natural in front of the camera. It was unseasonably cold the day of our wedding, and very windy in one of the spots we wanted to take pictures at, and she was constantly checking in to make sure we were still comfortable, not too cold, etc. She also took some gorgeous pictures in our church that were just as beautiful as our outdoor pictures, and captured some incredible candid photos throughout the day in addition to the formal ones. There were several couples at our wedding who had used her at their own weddings, and they were all so excited to see her! We also chose to have a second photographer to photograph the groom getting ready and the ceremony, and she was awesome as well! We are so happy with the way our pictures came out and the beautiful moments they captured, and would recommend anyone planning a wedding to book with Danielle!

Danielle was phenomenal. She captured every aspect of our wedding on 10/12/19 and then some. She was so accommodating and flexible with switching around times I wanted her on-site. She traveled Multiple different places to get shots of all aspects of the wedding. The next day (before we got our on flight) we had a few sneak peeks before we even boarded. They were beautiful and I couldn’t wait to see everything else. Danielle edited and gave over 1,000 pictures sent to my email within 3 weeks of the wedding. There were multiple shots, sizes, and colors that she included. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better photographer to capture our day. She also offered multiple different packages. We opted for the package that includes the digital download and opted to create our own wedding book which also included a usb drive with the photos as well.

My wife and I absolutely love our wedding photos! From day one, Danielle was always very pleasant to work with and she provided us with great photo ideas. Danielle is the best! I have been to several weddings that she has shot, and even before we picked our venue and wedding date, I knew that we wanted to work with her. My partner was nervous about being photographed and not knowing how to pose, but once we got out there and started taking our couple shots, he was totally comfortable and looks great in all of the photos! I attribute this to Danielle's calm demeanor and giving us easy directions. She listened to our needs, made sure to get every shot on the list we provided, and was flexible when we last minute decided to get some photos with our dog. She also got the BEST shots of the kids at our wedding, and captured some amazing candid shots.

Every bride and groom should take advantage of this amazing talent!
I am blown away by the sheer artistic beauty and quality of the photos Danielle captured on our wedding day. We had an outdoor wedding in the fall at Cayuga Nature Center. The way our event was laid out required Danielle to capture moments under many completely different conditions, from shady forest clearings, to shining full sun, to night time with poor quality/unflattering LED lighting. Somehow, she didn't miss one single amazing minute of our celebration and even with all those challenging conditions, everyone looks amazing and the lighting is perfect. I get chills when I see her photos of our ceremony, taken from all angles including some unbelievable close-ups of our faces during our vows. Guests have complimented how they never noticed that she was there during the ceremony and she did not create a distraction at all, but somehow she captured the expression on our faces so perfectly. She remembered every shot I asked her to try to get during our bride-groom session, and kept everyone on track during the group formals without subtracting from anyone's fun. She captured photos of so many of our guests that they will cherish forever., not just the bridal party. Thank you SO MUCH, Danielle, for these memories we will enjoy for the rest of our lives.

She created the most beautiful photos for my husband and me and our friends and family. She was very discrete throughout the day and I hardly noticed her, but she was keeping up with the pace of the reception and even let us know when the sunset was perfect for a mini photoshoot after dinner. Danielle is amazing! She has done our family photos, senior portraits and now our wedding photos and we have been highly satisfied with everything. Danielle is the best! She truly captured the feeling of our wedding day with her photos. Neither myself or my husband are very comfortable in front of the camera, but she directed us well and always seemed to be in good position to take the perfect candid shots during the rest of the night. She’s also a sweet person and even offered to help with random tasks (putting boutonnières on the guys, fixing my dress, etc). She was wonderful to have around at the wedding!

Danielle was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was responsive and lovely to speak to during the planning process -- she has a really nice, calming way about her. She was always happy to talk things through with me and answer any questions, no matter how silly!
The day of the wedding was no different. Danielle was prompt (even early) and immediately went to work snapping pictures, based on the shot list we had worked on in advance. She blended in to the background -- not one of those wedding photographers who always seems to be in the middle of everything. She captured every picture we wanted, and so many more. She did an excellent job of keeping in touch with us throughout the evening, suggesting when it might be nice to go grab some golden hour shots, and noting when we were 15 minutes out from her departure time so we could get any last photos in.
We received our wedding photos (all 1700 of them!!!) 3 weeks to the day after our wedding. And if you've heard horror stories from other brides you know how quick that is! They are absolutely stunning and we couldn't be happier with them.
I remember reading a review of Danielle when I was selecting a photographer, and the bride said that she couldn't imagine going through her wedding day without Danielle. I'll admit, I thought that was a little silly when I read it. Well, guess what? I couldn't agree more now!
Seriously, go book Danielle immediately!

Words cannot truly describe how phenomenal Danielle was to work with. Her quiet, calming, demeanor and genuine kindness immediately put me at ease when working with her on my big day. From start to finish of my wedding planning, the actual celebration, and communication afterwards, she was a pleasure to work with. Danielle responds quickly to any communication sent to her, and even telephoned to run through any last minute details the day before the wedding!
Danielle's photography is incredibly beautiful and she truly captured the joy and energy of the celebration, without being intrusive or aggressively forward with the camera. Danielle was able to create a the dreamy, fairytale, wedding photos that I envisioned in my mind. She was able to get a sense of what I wished for, and make it into a reality. She truly is an artist and her photographs are my most treasured processions. I cannot thank her enough for her beautiful photos.

Danielle was so, so great. My husband and I are both somewhat awkward when it comes to getting photographed, and we were instantly put at ease by Danielle's laid back friendly style. Her pricing is extremely fair, and she was very responsive along the way, especially since we were planning our wedding long-distance. On the day of, she somehow seemed to capture everything even though she was just one person. We loved all our photos, from our first look to the very end of the night. Danielle also turned our photos around extremely quickly -- we even had them in time for holiday gifts, which is pretty amazing for a late-October wedding.
Overall, we loved everything about working with Danielle, and would highly recommend her!

Danielle was amazing. I found her last minute when she responded to my need for a photographer. Not only was she super sweet, she listened to everything I said I wanted and did not want and when the day of my wedding came she was there, but super unobtrusive. Her suggestions made my photos beautiful. I would recommend her in a heartbeat and use her again if ever needed.

Danielle was absolutely amazing! She did our engagement photos and I couldn’t have imagined anything better! I had a Pinterest board I shared with her and she did a fabulous job reviewing it and knowing exactly what kind of photos I wanted. I am a very picky about what I look like in photos and I loved every one!!! Hands down the best experience. She was not pushy, she shared her own insights and thoughts, but let us do whatever we wanted! I could go on and on about how wonderful Danielle was. It will be the best decision you make! Danielle was a wonderful presence at my wedding. Not only did she take fantastic pictures, she also provided the calm to my storm during the actual wedding. Danielle was amazing to work with. She was flexible with our schedule to meet throughout the planning process and had us think about the types of shots we wanted on our wedding day. On the day of, Danielle was able to get every shot we requested (she kept the list with her). She also was able to steal us away for a bit so we could get some alone time and pictures of the sun setting. She is great at capturing your day from all angles and we love the online gallery, it makes it easy to download everything. We'd recommend Danielle to anyone who wants a down to earth and talented photographer.

Danielle was WONDERFUL on our wedding day! She jumped into the day's festivities right away and knew exactly what to do. She was able to gracefully take charge of our crazy, fun wedding party and let everyone know what to do and where to go. Danielle stayed calm, cool, and confident the entire day which made my husband and I rest easy and know everything was taken care of. All of our pictures looked natural and nothing was forced. Our wedding pictures came out better than we could have ever imagined. We both would highly recommend Danielle!

Danielle was so wonderful in terms of working with us before, during and after our wedding to make sure we captured all the memories we wanted. In terms of the wedding itself, she was always right there ready to take photos, not only during the big important moments, but during the smaller, easily-missed moments. This is such a hard review to write because I feel like I cannot possibly say enough about Danielle. Not only was she by my side all day and was absolutely wonderful, she became so much more than just my photographer. Like when it was time to cut the cake and I turned to her and said, "what do I do?". She was invisible when she needed to be, she captured all of the little details and decorations with so much more detail than I could have imagined, and she caught moments that I missed. I was so upset that I didnt get to see my brother and sister sign the marriage certificate. I know this is a small detail but Danielle caught it and I am so grateful to her for that. She had all of my pic ideas on her phone and made sure we did all of them. She even drove us to an offsite location to snap a few extra pics we really wanted. She made sure I stayed hydrated and didnt leave until she was sure I got every possible pic I wanted. I probably deferred to her more than I should (for lots of things) but she was someone I could trust and I valued her opinion. She returned the pics much faster than I would have expected and they are AMAZING!! That is an understatement! They are flawless, gorgeous, and I wish I could do it all over again with her!

Danielle gave us a sneak peak of photos so swiftly after the wedding and was so kind to guests as well as my un-photogenic now-husband! She made him so comfortable that he actually enjoyed taking photo, even without meeting with her beforehand. Two days prior to the wedding she made it a point to get in touch with me and discuss how the potential rain would affect our wedding and even brought along a umbrella to incorporate in our photos. She was incredibly professional, well-equipped, and so unobtrusive that I actually lost track of her for a while just to turn and see her photographing the moments that mattered most to us! Out of all the stresses of a wedding, I knew that I was in great hands with Gerritsen Photography and didn't worry about the quality one bit. She is simply the best!

Danielle was the perfect photographer for our wedding. She was responsive and communicative leading up to the weekend. She was flexible, and accommodating. She went way above and beyond what we expected. And of course, the pictures were fantastic. Danielle did a great job making sure we had all the pictures we wanted, as well as capturing so many little moments that otherwise would have gone unnoticed or forgotten. At the same time she didn't intrude or take us away from enjoying our day. I cannot recommend Danielle highly enough -- she was simply amazing.

I can't say enough about Danielle! From the first meeting she helped us feel so comfortable and made nothing feel it was off limits for what we wanted. She answered emails and any questions even on maternity leave. I sent her pictures I loved and she made it a reality with her own flare. The day of, it was like having our own family or friend there capturing our day. When we received the pictures back within less than 3 weeks we were speechless. Our friends that have been in several weddings or work in the wedding industry gave us so many compliments on her work. Danielle, you truly made our wedding day complete and we are forever thankful for that.

Danielle was a dream to work with. She has such an amazing talent for capturing meaningful moments, and we could not have been happier with the beautiful photos and memories she gave us. Danielle is a wonderful photographer and unbelievably easy to work with. She clarified with us certain pictures + poses we really wanted (a full group shot, some formal portraits of family members, etc.) and made sure all of those were done, but most of the time she caught moments we couldn't have planned and we ended up with an incredible set of photographs - flattering and natural. I'm not even sure how she got some of the shots - she was able to photograph me outside the church and walking down the aisle while also capturing the look on my husband's face when that was happening, which was priceless.

We're extremely happy with our photos from Gerritsen Photography! We were somewhat underprepared for our list of necessary photographs for the day of our wedding, but Danielle was equipped with a great eye and tons of spectacular ideas for our photos. She made sure to photograph important groups, couples, and spaces without direction from myself or the groom and captured the best moments. After seeing our photos, I was shocked at how she was able to snap the candid moments without seeming like the paparazzi--she's very professional and sneaky! We highly recommend Danielle for your event in the Ithaca area!

My fiancé and I are getting married in NJ however we met way back when at Cornell and therefore decided to take our engagement photos on the campus. I did a ton of research trying to find a photographer for our photos and came across Danielle! Danielle was amazing! I ended up getting very sick the day of our shoot but I didn't want to reschedule. She was completely flexible and was still able to capture a ton of shots to use for our save the dates. She is extremely talented and a great photographer. I highly recommend her!
