George James Entertains is the ONLY way to go!

George was a key piece in making our wedding day seamless. He did a lot of preparation to make sure that our day would be perfect for us, which gave us peace of mind. We were very specific about our song list, and he played every song that we wanted. For the number of hours that went into preparing for our event and the amount of time he was there, his price was very reasonable. George is a professional and we highly recommend him to anyone looking for an event DJ.

For all your wedding requests and more George made our wedding so special!!! I’m thankful George took the time to get to know us and personalize everything we could have hoped for on our special day. Couldn't Be Happier

George was very accommodating and easy to work with on everything we wanted. We were working with him from out of town and he made it easy to communicate and met us when we were in the area in locations that were convenient for us. He allowed us to fully customize our musical choices and went the extra mile of scouting out the venue beforehand since it was something of a tricky set up. He also respected our wishes about song requests from guests. A consummate professional with none of the cheesy wedding DJ antics others might provide. Thanks again, George!

Excellent DJ - 5 stars! Highly recommend!

I'm a wedding coordinator and it's always such a relief to me when my fellow vendors are professional. Having a great sound system and access to all the music one would want is just the bare minimum you want to look for when choosing a DJ. You want professionalism and that's what George James excels in! He DJ'd and MC'd my last wedding and he showed up early, was set-up with time to spare, ran sound tests with me, guided the evening with a well spoken and friendly demeanor on the mic, and we worked seamlessly together keeping in constant contact the entire evening to make sure the night was perfect. Before the wedding I knew I could trust him. He was responsive, and took the time to ask all the questions he knew he needed answered in order to do his job well. I highly recommend George!

What a great experience!

Our wedding reception was amazing thanks to George James! I was so particular about the flow of music and he read my mind on how to build the night with all the tunes! We never left the dance floor!

George made our wedding amazing! He even helped me write my timeline for the wedding! He helped keep me on task and even our guests were taking about what a great DJ we had the next day! I would recommend George to anyone and everyone! He is the best in town!

Professional and organized

George was organized, professional, and responded in a timely manner. George was in contact with the bride and groom as well as the coordinator, prior to the event making sure all details were handled in advance. I felt his rates were very reasonable, especially for all he did for us to make this wedding day go smoothly. I'd hire George again without a second thought.

Great DJ! Answered all my questions and helped execute my day flawlessly. Of course every bride thinks she'll be on schedule all day...yeah right.... but George helped us to stay on schedule as much as possible. His online planning site is easy to use and reminds you about all the small details, like your cake during song, etc. Highly recommend, he's great to work with. Thanks so much!!

George was fantastic and very communicative- especially as we were organizing our wedding from half way around the world, George was quick to response and complete. He is an expert in his field, was organized, adaptable (e.g. impromptu karaoke, video screening), and knew the venue and how to keep an audience engaged and dancing. It was easy to work with George, and we were confident during the planning stages that this was the right choice. The day of the wedding he also was a brilliant DJ, keeping the flow of music constant and setting the atmosphere for the event. Highly recommend.

I loved having George as the DJ at our wedding. He was easy to work with and his library of songs to choose from was awesome...all in a program he provides that allowed us to pick out songs generally and for the special dances. He did exactly what we wanted him to do, which was play the music!! Very professional and had everyone dancing. Thanks George!!

George James did an incredible job DJing our wedding at the San Diego Botanic Garden. He is very personable and made it super easy to put together the perfect playlist for our special day. He is very accommodating if you have special instructions on how long you'd like certain songs played, etc. We would definitely hire him again for any future events we have.

This is an easy review to write. George James was the absolute best!! He is the nicest man and works very hard to create for you the exact ambiance you want for your wedding. Not only were we able to choose our own play list, but George added highlights of his own. For our cocktail hour, he played swanky classic jazz, for dinner, a perfect mix, and then for the party...well, he brought it!!! We had such an amazing day and George was integral to that!! Thank you, George, from the bottom of our hearts. We love yah!

We got married July 8, 2017 and George James was fantastic! His website was awesome to use and user friendly when we set up our day and chose songs. His professional and friendly demeanor was great! George was super easy to work with, whether it was because of his easy to use website for planning and music selections or his availability for texting since I'm a busy working woman. Also, he is a perfectionist which was a relief since so am I!! He arrived early in order to make sure he was properly setup and ready to go and he kept the entire evening running on schedule, but wasn't pushy about it at all, which was perfect!! He had an amazing music selection, which was great since we have pretty eclectic taste. We had a country wedding so there was a lot of old western music and George even sang one of the songs for us, which was so amazingly sweet! Once it was time to dance, he easily transitioned to all of the hip hop/dance music we had requested and the dance floor was full for the remainder of the night which was more than 2 hours!! I'd definitely recommend him to anyone; you won't be disappointed!!

George is excellent - he was a great DJ and MC at my wedding. We hired him a year before the wedding and from start to finish, he was very accommodating. Whenever we communicated, he would call/email/text me back very quickly and even had a website where I could create a "playlist" for the big day. We are so glad we found George!

George was such a blessing! We worked all the way until our wedding, so we weren't able to put a lot of energy into the music, though I love music. George was very flexible with our schedule. Even the day of the wedding, I felt like I was adding something. He reduced our stress the day of the wedding knowing he was there early, set up the equipment, and was invested in our day. Our theme was purple, and he was happy to join the color scheme. He provided up lighting, at an added price, but it made all the difference in the world with the venue. Knowing he would take care of it, was one less person we needed that day to schedule. The guests were able to request songs, and he was able to accommodate almost all of them.

George is awesome! I live in Hawaii and had my wedding in San Diego meaning planning the whole thing was pretty stressful. George was definitely not somebody who added to this stress but helped things go smooth. From the start, he has been extremely professional, providing a clear and concise contract and open communication with quick responses. He also provides a custom website where you can input song choices, order of the wedding and notes. This website came in very handy and was extremely easy to use. Since I did not arrive in San Diego until 2 days before the wedding, George set up a day and time to call me to go over the details. He was very professional and friendly while going over the order again and just clarifying and adding on to things that I had entered into his website, nicely asking me about the things I had forgotten. On the day of the wedding, George arrived early to set up all of his equipment and had it all ready before the guests arrived. He took what I wanted into consideration and played exactly what I wanted throughout different parts of the wedding, keeping it fun and family friendly! I would recommend George to anybody who wants to have an awesome, professional, easy to work with DJ at their event!

You just found the DJ you’ve been looking for!!!
We just had the best day of our lives and we owe a debt of gratitude to George James. Everything at our wedding was perfect beyond our wildest dreams and much of this was do to our choice of DJ. We are exceedingly grateful that we selected George, he was phenomenal; everything went effortlessly and was timed to perfection. We didn’t have to worry about a single thing. He was extremely organized, professional and wonderfully helpful throughout the planning process. He was available for all our questions and ensured that we were prepared for the big day. He arrived early to set up his amazing equipment dressed to impress. He had awesome lights and his acoustics and sound were perfect; we rocked the neighborhood! :) Our guests loved him and had an unbelievable time. George has a superb energy about him and you can tell that he just loves what he does. He is a one of kind find who made the entire night everything we wanted. My new husband and I highly recommend George to anyone who wants to see their dream come to life.

George was perfect in everything he did. He met with us (and was on time) a couple of months before our wedding date. He was very organized, and it didn't take us long to realize we were going to be in good hands. On the day of the wedding, George arrived early and was already set up before we even arrived. He set up one sounds system inside the wedding hall and one outside for the reception. The acoustics and sound was perfect. He orchestrated the timing of everything that happened, and gave us gentle reminders on things we needed to do as the day progressed. He played all of the music we requested, and then some. He was very thorough, and we could tell it was important to him to get all of the details right, including how to pronounce all of the names of the bride and groom's entourage. He was professional, kind, and just a really likeable guy. My wife and I can't say enough "good" about George. I will recommend George to anyone I meet that has the need for a DJ.

I know putting together a wedding can be stressful, for my wife and I we did it in only 3 months. Finding a DJ that didn't break the bank was clutch, and George James is just what we needed. Our wedding wasn't anything over the top, it was simple... just a big party to celebrate us. I just needed someone to play music and announce things at the right time, and not mess things up or be over bearing on the crowd. George showed up well dressed, way ahead of the ceremony time and was professional at all times. The website he offers makes it simple to put your music in order and he is very responsive when you have questions or need to clarify items on your timeline. Also. He is willing to travel! he came down to our wedding location(or where ever you want) multiple times to meet and go over the event items. Overall I give George a A+. Price, service and quality are on point.

George did a great job at our wedding. He was very knowledgeable and professional. The ages of our guests ranged from 2-90 and I felt like everyone enjoyed the music equally. I didn't have to worry about a thing (what a relief for a bride)! He would respond back to emails and text messages right away which took away any stress related to music. He was very fairly priced and the value of service we got was fantastic. We highly recommend him, if you want a great music experience he's your guy.

George James was the DJ and MC at my daughters wedding (Thompsen/Ellis 3/28/15). The reception was held at Moniker Warehouse in San Diego and could not have been any more fun! From our first meeting George was professional and very helpful. This being my first time planning a wedding, he gave me numerous tips, suggestions, and options on almost anything wedding related, and keeping things moving smoothly and on schedule. He was a joy to work with and kept the entire evening lively and fun. I don't think the dance floor was ever empty.
He will definitely be my DJ of choice for my upcoming annual dance party!

We met George through our friends wedding last year in La Jolla and we really liked his style and how he kept the energy up throughout the night. We had contacted George this past year for our wedding and he happily accepted our request to be the DJ at our wedding in Dana Point. The communication back and forth was awesome, and whenever we weren't sure about something he was very quick to help us out and give us recommendations. Even up until the last week when we didn't have all of the music/first dance songs lined up he was extremely flexible and ready to help always. George kept the energy high all night long at our wedding and did not skip a beat! Hiring a fantastic DJ such as George is definitely well worth it and you will have your guests complementing how well the night went afterwards like we do. George was easygoing and was able to read our music style from our conversations. We didn't want to pick each and every song so we gave him our likes and dislikes and he was able to portray that at the wedding. There were a few songs that weren't my favorite, but people were dancing which is all that mattered to us. We had the chicken dance on the do not play list, but my sister jokingly got him to play it; not our favorite, but we got some funny pictures out of it.

In the middle of the dancing, I noticed there were a lot of songs playing that were requested by guests that were inside jokes to us, but didn't get people dancing. I asked George to play more dance music and ignore the rest of the requests, which he did.

The biography sheets for the bridal party were a hit and everyone raves about them. He took the information I gave him and did a little intro for each bridal party member that had people laughing. I even had another friend of mine who is getting married soon ask me for a copy of the questionnaire so she can incorporate that into her wedding.

George is PHENOMENAL!! He is very detailed, asks all the right questions before your actual event, and holds the utmost professionalism. George kept our wedding reception hopping with great music. George is such a great DJ and his price is awesome. When I initially read his reviews(before I met him), I was worried that maybe he just had his friends all make up nice reviews (I think I am paranoid). But now I know that all these reviews are true!
George was quick to respond. Before my wedding day, he met with me at the location. He was super flexible (I kept changing the time on him because I had a limited amount of time in San Diego). He is so nice and kept our wedding day flowing along perfectly!

My husband and I were so fortunate to have George as our DJ at our wedding. He is professional, which to us was very important, we did not realize how long he has been in this business and it definitely shows. He gave us a nice folder of all the information we would need on our first meeting. It was usefull to have when it came to picking the perfect songs and organizing the order of the grand entrance for our wedding party. It helped us decide things we wanted and didn't want, for example, money dance vs. no money dance, etc. Above George's professionalism we were thrilled with his ability to make our special day unique. George has a way to make every wedding unique, he does a voice-over of your first dance, and/or father daughter dance, and/or mother/son dance, of you and your partner talking about eachother. It was so special for my husband and I to have that during our dance, he recorded us separately so it was like a little extra surprise. Our guests RAVED about the unique touch, as well as his music selection, George read the crowd perfectly, playing songs off our lists but also playing some our guests requested. Needless to say we recommend George James Entertains 100% and we would not have wanted anyone else to be our DJ.

He had timeline templates that were a major help along with other templates that gave some background info on the wedding party and who they were. Georges format for planning the music and the events that go along with the night made everything flow very smoothly. George was very professional and flexible. I really enjoyed working with George as the DJ for our wedding. He was one of our best vendors and really went above and beyond to make everything perfect for our special day. We were having a destination wedding in San Diego and George helped us plan from afar. We really appreciated his willingness to communicate with us via Skype. On our big day, he arrive early, was professional, played music that we requested and our wedding guests enjoyed and generally made our day stress-free. I would highly recommend George for anyone getting married in the San Diego area. He made our day special and I don't think there was a single thing that he could have done better.

He was a great communicator and very responsive to phone calls and emails. He has a great online website where you can find any song that you can think of, as well as giving helpful suggestions. He did a great job at our wedding. People were dancing it up on the dance floor all night long. He provided great lighting and a projector screen for our videographer. HE made my wedding unique in all the right ways!!! He is talented at what he does and that is so evident from the moment you meet him. He is organized and gives you the tools to make this portion of your wedding planning incredibly easy!! Listen to all his great ideas and the tools he gives you to make your wedding be unforgettable will make your wedding the best that any of your guests have ever been too. We left the music selection mostly up to George and it was a very intelligent choice, he knows his stuff. My dance floor was full, even of Aunties that I would never have imagined staying throughout the wedding and furthermore being a joyful reveler!!

My wedding was a true success because of George, I can never say that enough. My father/daughter dance was so incredibly special for my father because of the attention to detail and creativity that George put into that moment for us.

George James was the perfect DJ for our reception. He blended our music choices with songs of his own choosing, and played the songs at appropriate times. He was flexible throughout the evening to accommodate impromptu speeches and schedule changes. He had a large selection of music, including out-of-the-ordinary music choices during karaoke time. The music volume was kept at a perfect level - never too loud or too quiet. He arrived early to be sure his equipment would be completely setup and professional in appearance. He was a consummate professional, and ensured the focus was on the wedding party and guests - not himself. Our reception was perfect in every way, and we could not have made a better choice for DJ.

George James was amazing!! He was the DJ and Emcee for our September wedding, and he gave our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception the beach/reggae vibe we were hoping for. George James has created a system that makes planning easy and fun! You can go online to select your music for each event, such as ceremony, cake cutting, and dance songs. He also sends a personalized notebook to gather the information about the wedding party. All you have to do is answer them, and he makes a wonderful speech with the information you provide. Having George as my DJ was one of the best decisions I made when planning my wedding. I can't say enough about what a valuable resource he was to me and my husband in our pre-wedding stages, but I'll try.

First, here's a quick summary.
- George was amazing!
- He was on time(early)to all meetings and the wedding.
- He brought a lot of wedding knowledge/experience to the table and had great suggestions for the reception.
- He was very personable, flexible, and made sure he was clear on everything we planned.
- He put together a great playlist (we received a lot of compliments on the music selection!)
- He was very organized.

I wasn't able to hire a planner and was a little lost when figuring out what to do during the reception. George started off our first meeting asking me questions about the wedding that I hadn't even thought of, which was great because it ensured that nothing was forgotten. He was able to provide suggestions for activies during the wedding, gave us a copy of "The Best Wedding Reception Ever!" and provided us a workbook of the type of information he would need to run the reception.

From the first meeting, we got our "homework" and a much better understanding of all we needed to plan our entire wedding. George was available for questions whenever we had them and also provided some great planning software where we were able to select our music for each event during the reception, general must play/do not play music, and organize the schedule of events - I found the software very helpful.

The second meeting allowed us to review all of the "homework" we had completed, George walked us through the entire day from his setup time to the end of the reception- the scheudle was planned down to the 15-minute mark. We were able to ask questions, make changes and clarify as we went through the schedule and then reviewed everything again to be sure it was how we wanted.

At the wedding, George was great! He had everything set up early, got everyone (mostly our officiant and my husband) organized for the ceremony, was flexible with the reception schedule as we requested more time for some segmants and less time in others and was very personable on the mic. The reception went very smoothly and I couldn't have asked for anything more.

My husband and I are so thankful that we hired George James as our DJ for our wedding this past July. We met with four other DJ's but thought that George seemed the most professional and fun. He also had the best referrals. I liked how organized George was. George had a booklet for us with our names on it that was super helpful. It was like an outline for the wedding. He had a timeline, song suggestions, but he was also very open to whatever ideas we had in mind. We had two meetings with George before the wedding which was really great. George asked us questions about our relationship, and our proposal. He really wanted to get to know us. George was easy to get a hold of by phone and e-mail. I never had to wait more than a day to hear back from him.

The day before the wedding George met me at our venue with the caterer and we did a walk through of the wedding day. We discussed where the lights would go, where he would set up his equipment, etc. George is very easy going and during such a stressful time it was nice to work with someone so calm and on top of things. The day of the wedding George was not only our DJ, but he also acted like a coordinator. He kept me on track saying, "In about 30 minutes do you want to cut the cake?" Or, "I'll play two more songs and then we'll do the garter toss." I loved how he kept on top of things so I didn't have to.

There are some people who are trying to save money these days and use an ipod instead of hiring a DJ. From what I've seen this never seems to work. George is not just a DJ he's also an excellent MC and entertainer. We got so many compliments after the wedding on our DJ. After the ceremony during our grand entrance at the reception George had little speeches prepared about my husband and I and about our bridal party. He got the information from us from a questionnaire sheet that was in our wedding booklet. Our guests cracked up as George told funny stories about our bidesmaids and groomsmen. Another fun thing that George did was called the "Kissing Couples" sheet. I've never seen it done at another wedding.

I really cannot say enough good things about my experience working with George James Entertains. They were everything we wanted in a DJ and more.

I met with George a few times to discuss the needs of my wedding. My husband and I had some specific ideas of what we wanted the reception to be like and he was happy and willing to work with us to make our day magical. On the day of he showed up early and was very professional. He created an atmosphere that was exactly what we dreamed of. All of our guests had a wonderful time and we keep hearing that it was "the best wedding ever." Much of that was because of George's quality of service. Additionally, he did a great job of responding to what the crowd wanted to dance to. However, one of my favorite parts about working with George was that during the reception anytime I would tell him I wanted to hear a song, he played it immediately! He did a wonderful job with the ceremony music, cocktail music, dinner music, and especially the dancing music!
We gave him a few songs that we wanted to hear at different times during the night, and he did the perfect job adding more songs that went perfectly together with the songs that we chose.
The evening flowed beautifully with the mood that the music provided.
George was great in that be really helped the wedding move along. He didn't just play music.
When we needed for events to be announced, he did that for us. Both my husband and I, and our wedding coordinator, were very thankful to have him there to do that for us. Needing someone there that can professionally announce what is happening, and when, is something that you can easily overlook that you will need; and some dja don't offer to do that.
Once again, George James does an amazing job! He definitely gets people up and out of their seats, and on to the dance floor for the rest of the night!
Music is probably the most important part of a wedding, and George James will not leave you and your guests disappointed!

George was really responsive to us during the entire process and made us feel very comfortable with his DJ skills. The online portal was a great addition, but we found it difficult at times. Make sure you are comfortable with the guidelines of that site before you start working on it.
