This venue was everything we could have hoped for! The owners are so kind and helpful, the location was beautiful, and we had the freedom to make this anything we wanted!

    Best venue ever!!

General Potter Farm was the BEST choice for our wedding venue. The entire staff was so kind and professional! They went the extra mile to make sure I had the best day! They were very efficient with communication and extremely flexible when we wanted to tour the barn a couple times before the wedding day. The barn itself is absolutely beautiful, and I loved that it felt more "finished" with the white-washed walls and the central air/heating. It was the perfect choice for our day, and I would recommend it for any event!

General Potter Farm is a GORGEOUS venue with so much to offer. Plus, Binky and her team were so accommodating and flexible throughout the process--they even helped with all the cleanup! I planned on having an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour, but with the rain had to move everything indoors. I'm so glad I did because the venue itself is so beautiful and charming. It makes even a large wedding feel intimate and special. The venue also offered flexibility as I could choose my own vendors, but Binky did provide a list and guidance in selecting people to work with. The venue was also so much fun--we were able to set up lawn games and even have a burger toss instead of a bouquet toss :-).

LOVED General Potter Farm. I worked with Lori through the planning process and Lisa was there the day of. Lori answered any and all questions I had quickly and completely. Lisa was SUPER helpful on the day of the wedding when we were running around like crazy. The venue itself is gorgeous, doesn't require a ton of decorating because it decorates itself. You do have to bring in all the vendors, which is a little overwhelming but most of the vendors in the area have worked there so that makes it really easy. Only sort of complaint is that we had to make a sign for the entrance because they have the old furniture store sign out front and some of the out of town guests got confused.

Binky is wonderful to work with! She allows folks to use real candles, which was important to me, and she allows so much room for creativity and DIY decorating. You can work with other vendors that *you* chose, which gave us a lot of flexibility. We actually ended up saving money compared to using a venue where you would have to use their in-house vendors. Unlike some other barn venues we looked at, the GPF barn has heat! Originally, I was concerned about the number of bathrooms -- one men's bathroom (urinal and a toilet, sink), one woman's bathroom (a larger space, with: toilet, sink, and a table you can put toiletries on to freshen up), and a "secret" smaller bathroom (toilet and sink) past the kitchen area. We had 164 guests at our wedding and only had a true line once for the ladies room of about 4 people, right after cocktail hour before dinner, and our family can drink (after dinner we had 4 full hours of dancing and an open bar if that is any indication)! No problems with lines. Also, my grandma uses a walker, and the ladies room was large enough for her and has a bar for assistance next to the toilet.

Finally, General Potter Farm simply beautiful. The farm grounds provide a rustic setting regardless of season, the basement has a gorgeous old stone wall, and the wood floors of the barn were recently refinished. My husband and I were planning our wedding from Colorado; so bringing and/or making loads of decorations was not feasible. Our hope was that by choosing a beautiful location our minimal decor would not look underwhelming. Well, that choice paid off and our wedding was simple yet stunning. And, after seeing photos of weddings held at the barn, with decoration schemes ranging from extravagant to minimalist, they all look stunning -- a testament to the barn's natural beauty.

General Potter Farm is absolutely beautiful!! I would not have wanted my daughters wedding any place else. Binky is simply awesome to work with and she was so helpful during the entire wedding process. The pictures you see are the real deal, the basement where our ceremony was held to the upstairs for the reception was simply stunning. We loved everything about our day; thanks General Potter Farm - I would recommend them to all.!

Thank you Binky for making our wedding day so special. You are an incredibly patient, kind and understanding person. You made all the little hiccups that day seem so small, which I can not thank you enough for. The barn was beautiful!! So many of our guests commented on how much they loved it. Thank you again for helping to make our dream wedding come true!!

Absolutely adored this location and it was perfect for our wedding! From photos, to options for the ceremony and reception, we had choices galore and all were gorgeous. Binky was extremely helpful and quick to respond (we were planning from 1000 miles away) and seemed to just understand our vision from the beginning - she is spectacular at what she does! Looking back, I can't imagine our big day anywhere else!

BEAUTIFUL venue. The barn is so amazing that there is little need for decorations. We had the chose to get married outside in front of a willow tree and beautiful stream or in the stone walled basement of the barn. It rained on our wedding day (which is good luck), so we got married in the basement. It was so amazing with candles and votives all over the walls. While we took pictures, our guests were able to stay in the basement for appetizers and drinks. When we went upstairs, the barn looked amazing!! It was such a fun place to have a dance party and to see all our guests. Binky, the owner, was incredibly friendly and helpful. We loooooved everything about our day; all thanks to General Potter Farm!

What can we say that hasn't already been said? It is a gorgeous venue: we lucked out with the weather and were able to get ready in the back room; do the ceremony by the creek; pictures by the bridge, fields and barns; cocktail hour in the basement and outside; and then the reception upstairs in the barn. We even did a welcome dinner pig roast for all of our guests (all from out of town) in the basement and out in the field the Friday night before! Having everything at one location allowed us to get busses for our guests so they didn't have to drive! The only downside to the venue is that you will need to rent everything, but it's totally worth it. The barn is a blank slate can be decorated in a way that is totally you. Another bonus is every single vendor in the area has worked at the barn and is familiar with it's layout and the logistics that go with it. And we can't forget Binky- her and her staff were incredible and a true pleasure to work with, especially the day of! We had heard of Binky many times in our planning, but didn't meet her until the actual day of- she completely exceeded her own legend in person!

We looked at 20+ venues in the Central PA area, and could not be happier to have had our wedding at GPF. You wont be disappointed!

Sam and Binky were very easy to work with. The farm is stunning and was perfect for the atmosphere we were looking for. The only suggestion we would make is to help you guests find the farm from 322 by covering the Henry and Co sign out front. It is very easy to drive right past it.

    Perfect barn wedding venue

General Potter Farm provided us with the perfect barn setting I had been dreaming of for our wedding! We loved the cozy barn setting, updated with A/C and indoor bathrooms. The grounds are beautiful and it’s so kind of Binky to allow couples to take pictures on her beautiful porch as well! The whole setting gave us the rustic, romantic feel I was searching for. We loved their flexibility and that we were lucky enough to be able to reserve the farm for the full weekend of our wedding. It was so helpful to be able to bring our decor over the day of our rehearsal, and tear down the day after.

We held our ceremony in the downstairs and our reception in the upstairs and are really happy with our choice! The stone walls and exposed beams in the downstairs made our ceremony with about 150 guests feel intimate. With the help of our florist (Lisa from Woodrings), the downstairs was transformed into a magical and cozy space. The reception space upstairs required very little decor which we appreciated- the space is beautiful to start with! It’s so nice that much of the lighting upstairs is already in place and cute. Through the work of our florist, the addition of some sheer curtains, flowers, and candles, really made the space gorgeous. We are so glad we decided to hold our whole wedding day at General Potter Farm; it was wonderful to stay in one place and not worry about traveling between the ceremony and reception, and the farm offered more than enough space for all of our guests to easily park onsite.

We found the barn’s back room to be so helpful as we were getting ready and preparing for the day, and it was great to have the kitchen right next to where we put our buffet. Although it took some creative planning, we were able to fit 150 guests at long rectangle tables, a circle bride and groom table, gift tables, decor tables, buffet tables, drink tables, AND a large dance floor area in the upstairs of the barn. It was so helpful to already have a built-in bar area in the upstairs.

Although we did a ton of set-up and tear-down ourselves, with the help of our amazing family and friends, we felt it was so worth it to be able to customize the space so much. General Potter Farm does not provide rental items such as tables, chairs, tablecloths, curtains, glasses, etc., but all of the vendors we worked with were familiar with General Potter, which was helpful. Even though it was a bit of work on our end to figure out all the rentals ourselves, we appreciated the great value of General Potter Farm and being able to customize our day. I really don’t think you could rent a whole barn for a whole weekend anywhere else for the price we were given, let alone such a beautiful space as General Potter.

Binky was great to work with and we appreciated the connections General Potter has with many local vendors!

We are SO HAPPY with our choice of General Potter Farm for our wedding venue. We held both our ceremony and reception at General Potter Farm. The barn and surrounding area is so lovely. Something I loved about GPF was how beautiful the barn looks without any decoration at all. They always have string lights up in the rafters, which is such a nice touch. There was also a ladder & chandelier above the area where our sweetheart table. There is a very spacious backroom that we used as both the rehearsal dinner space and the bridal suite for getting ready. The downstairs area of the barn is also amazing and we held our cocktail hour there. We initially planned to have an outdoor ceremony behind the barn (Plan A was down by the stream the runs nearby, but recent rains made it too muddy/buggy to be an option for our early Sept wedding) but due to some last minute rain, we had to move our ceremony inside. Many couples hold their indoor ceremony in the downstairs area, which looks incredible with plenty of lighting. Since our switch to inside was so last minute, we decided to hold the ceremony on the dancefloor area upstairs and have guests are their dinner tables. It actually worked out very well and the late afternoon lighting was perfect.
For all the on-site visits, we met with Binky who owns GPF. She was so kind and great to work with & provided a lot of helpful insight in the layout of tables and how to set up the space. When I would email or call, I typically spoke with Lori, who was also incredible helpful. The only hitch I would say was on our wedding day we were expecting to have Binky on-site, but it turned out to be Lisa (who is also one of the main three ladies that run GPF). I think Lisa did a nice job, but I hadn't established any connection with her prior to the day (tough since she didn't know me or my vision of the day).
Overall I loved our wedding at GPF!

General Potter Farm is an amazing venue. We fell in love with the property and the barn when we first set foot on site, and were even more certain that General Potter Farm was the perfect place for our wedding reception after talking to Binky about the venue. General Potter Farm is certainly a beautiful location to hold an event - the barn is incredible, the perfect combination of rustic and modern (air conditioning, clean, etc.), and the property makes for beautiful photos - but what makes the venue so awesome is how flexible and helpful the owners are. We loved that we were able to set up and decorate the barn as we pleased and that we were able to use whatever vendors (caterer, DJ, bartenders, etc.) we wanted. The only negative I can report is that we had to turn off music prompty at 11PM (not the fault of General Potter Farm, it is a noise law, even though there are few homes nearby!), which was a bummer to a few folks who were still enjoying dancing. Overall, I could not have asked for a more perfect place to hold our wedding reception.

This is a beautiful venue for a rustic wedding. When I first saw pictures of it online, I knew I had to have my wedding there!! Lori and Binky were both great to work with. They were prompt in responding to communication and answered all our questions thoroughly. We booked the venue for Friday and Saturday so we could get in and set-up the day before. We were able to get in early in the morning, and our rental company was able to drop off and set up our tables and chairs on Thursday night without an issue. The venue was clean and ready for us when we arrived on Friday! We had to clean up on Saturday night since there was a wedding Sunday, and Binky's crew was in there very soon after the reception ended to get everything spic-and-span for the next bride! The grounds are stunning, and the basement was perfect for our cocktail hour. There are so many spaces at the venue that can be used creatively and we are so happy we were able to celebrate our big day here!

This place is absolutely stunning! The staff is very helpful and they really will jump to do anything you need. When we had to change our date, they were very accommodating. They also let us start bringing things in a day early, which was a huge help!

Binky couldn't be nicer and has a lot of cool ideas. I found their Facebook page especially helpful for ideas on how to set up the venue--they update it often with photos of recent weddings there.

It's by far the best venue in the area--unique, romantic, and there are a million ways you can set it up!

One thing--they are not always the quickest at responding to emails and phone calls. They do eventually respond, bit don't expect same-day!
