He was also very easy to communicate with and responded to emails quickly. We Love our pictures! They are so much better than the typical wedding photos we have seen! -
User2607644 Sent on 05/14/2016We were VERY pleased to have the opportunity to work with Gelston as our photographer at our wedding. He is passionate, creative, funny and very professional. We were, during the day, very excited but Gelston managed to make us feel very comfortable and relaxed which affected in the most incredible photos and memories for the happiest day in our life. Gelston is absolutely brilliant and we can only give our ABSOLUTE BEST recommendation. He is one of a kind and ONCE again we want to thank him for his excellent work. -
User2046028 Sent on 02/20/2015Gelston and his team were nothing but quality people. We had a great time, he was fun, easy going and good at what he does - it totally shows through in our photos. He made sure we took all the photos we wanted in the time we spent with him. He always checked his work and made adjustments if needed. We are grateful to have met him and can't help but show off his work on our social media plus personally to friends and family.

Eneetra Sent on 12/08/2012We weren't happy with the photography. There were only a few that we liked and can use again. He didn't like our review and acted completely unprofessionally and then posted our photos on yelp with nasty notations. He even posted a link to our private photo gallery which was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. He demanded that we remove our negative review before he would take our images off the yelp site. We had to get the BBB and Yelp involved. User2600291 Sent on 05/08/2016WARNING - AVOID THIS BUSINESS. Gelston is now playing blackmail with our private wedding pictures! He has put a link out there for everyone to see our photos, without our permission, until we remove this bad review. We purchased these photos and hence own them. It's against the law for him to publish them. This guy is a nightmare.
Gelston photographed our beach wedding on Kauai in Feb. 2016.
Though he was professional (at the time) and had some good shots, we were very disappointed, for 3 main reasons.
1) Half turned out too bright. You couldn't tell it was sky and ocean behind us, it was mostly bright white. When we told him this, he said "it was a bright day". But it was actually overcast and just before sunset. But even if it were, I'd expect a photographer to be able to adjust his equipment to not have the result of a bright white background.
2) We assumed we would get all the pictures he shot (or at least a chance to choose which ones we want). We even paid for an extra half hour so we'd have a lot to choose from. Well, he did the choosing, narrowed it down to about a hundred shots and deleted the rest. Deleted! Of our special day...without enabling US to choose!
3) We assumed that his wedding photography service would include him touching up some photos, at least a chosen dozen or so. Turns out this was not the case at all.
We tried to work with him to rectify each of these. For #2 above, he claims there were no 'good ones' in those he deleted. For #1 and #3 he gave us a quote of over $700 to correct the lighting on and do touch-up on less than half the photos. We were shocked.
Gelston contacted us after we wrote this review. Unfortunately, it was not to try to correct any of the above, it was to ask us to change the review. The above is fair and the truth. I just wish his call were about trying to rectify our disappointment in our wedding photos. :-(Gelston Dwight Photography's reply:
