    Do not go anywhere else!

Amy is a true artist! I am so thankful I found her! Not only did she give me great recommendations for other vendors (she helped me find my wonderful wedding planner) but she put together the most beautiful floral arrangements! We loved her so much that my sister used her for her baby shower.

The Most Beautiful Floral Design & Wedding Design

Working with Amy was one of the biggest highlights of my wedding planning experience. During our first meeting I shared with her all of my ideas & inspo pics (which were all over the place) and she took what I said and came up with so many amazing ideas for me and was able to pull together a design that fit everything I had described. She is SOO creative, kind, and hard working. She truly comes up with the most gorgeous floral designs and goes above and beyond to make your day special and beautiful.

    Amy is amazing!

Amy is a SPECTACULAR floral designer! Amy did the flowers for my wedding in California. She was great from the beginning to the end. I knew I wanted pink and peonies but I did not have a complete vision. She walked me through the floral design process step by step and provided me with great insights. At my wedding, her designs exceeded my expectations. Everything she did from the ceremony to the reception was incredible. The bouquet she made was gorgeous and was like nothing I had ever seen before. She also constructed an amazing crescent moon floral structure for my new last name (Luna)! In short, she is incredible.

I cannot recommend Amy and Gather highly enough!! Amy is a god send - she is extremely talented, professional, caring, and easy to work with. I was the worst kind of client - I had no idea what my vision was, but was also extremely picky at the same time - but somehow Amy knew how to read my mind, pull out what was in my brain that I could not articulate, and create the wedding of my dreams. Everything was seamless and everyone kept complimenting me on how gorgeous the wedding and flowers were. Thank you, thank you, thank you Amy!

I don’t even know where to begin in writing words to properly express Amy. She is a saint…quite literally. She is sweet, she is talented, she is thoughtful. I am convinced that Amy, alone, made my elopement far more special than I ever would’ve imagined!!! She delivered everything I wanted in a bridal bouquet + MORE! No one has seen my album or photos and NOT mentioned the beautiful florals.

The weekend of our elopement, Amy trekked two cement blocks, 8ft tall wooden branches and the most beautiful garland on a ferry over to the island to make up the most beautiful + simplistic ceremony backdrop. Not to mention my massive bridal bouquet, shoulder florals, wrist florals + boutonnieres - all on her own!!! SHE’S A MIRACLE WORKER.

If there is one piece of advice I can give to brides, or anyone working with Amy, it is to TRUST in her creative ability to deliver something beautiful and memorable. I did just that + will never forget the contribution she made in my special day!

Amy is an incredibly talented designer and florist. This is my second opportunity to work with her (not just weddings). She made a beautiful traditional northwest garland.

I originally didn't want any flowers for my wedding. I had no interest in dealing with a bouquet, deciding things, planning it out, etc. I was referred to Amy by her brother, who is a friend of my (now) husband.
After an initial phone call, Amy created a Pinterest board for me to gauge my likes and dislikes. We had a few phone calls to exchange thoughts and ideas. She took that initial input and showed up on my wedding day with the most amazing flowers I have ever seen.
I went from not wanting flowers to crying over my bouquet when she brought it in.
She was able to provide everything I wanted and nothing I was expecting.
Amy is basically Wonder Woman with gardening shears. I have tons more to say but I am limited to 2000 characters. Amy would be a great investment to any wedding or special event. She was able to work from basically nothing and came up with amazing floral arrangements for my bouquet, table settings, our arch, and my dad's boutonniere.
Imagine what she could do with someone that was already excited about flowers and knew what they wanted! She converted me, and it was one of the best decisions that we could have made for our wedding day.

I would HIGHLY recommend Gather West Coast for any event. Amy's flower centerpieces were the highlight of the decorations and brought sophistication to the event. Amy is detail-oriented, professional, creative, and provides great customer service.

She goes above and beyond as a florist! I gave her very little directions to go on for the flowers, but she still knew her clients well and provided flowers that matched perfectly with the pastel yellow and pink theme. She also added this beautiful headband that was a huge surprise!

I'm always blown away by Amy's flower arrangement. I couldn't have been more thankful and grateful that Amy was apart of this special event. I would hire her again anytime.

Amy from Gather did the flowers and table decorations for my wedding, and I can't even begin to describe how perfectly everything turned out. I knew I wanted a lot of flowers at the wedding, and I had a vague idea of how I wanted the decorations to look, but I know nothing about flowers and I'm not exactly a creative type. Amy worked with me for months before the wedding to help me identify what I like (a process that required a lot of patience on her part!) and together we came up with a cohesive, beautiful vision. I had high hopes going in to the wedding, but what she delivered exceeded my wildest expectations. She was also very affordable and a true pleasure to work with. I can't recommend her services enough.

We hired Gather (headed by Amy) for our flowers and overall design planning for our wedding last June, and we couldn’t be happier that we did!
Starting out, I had only vague ideas of what I wanted and liked. Amy and I met and discussed my vision; I shared that I wanted berry colors with cream and gold accents; I also told her that I wanted peonies and garden roses. From that small amount of information Amy made my vision come alive! She presented me with multiple proposals that aligned with our wedding budget.
After working through some of the big ideas with Gather, I gave them the reins – I trusted Gather’s judgment and creativity to fill in the details and make the day magical…And it was! We were absolutely wow’ed! Gather created long garlands made of greens and flowers, floral arrangements, and other table décor and candles, and combined these with so many other thoughtful details! One little aspect that stood out was the addition of some berry springs and small fruits into the floral decoration and garlands. I would never have thought of this, but it was gorgeous, and it perfectly fit in with our romantic wedding.
The entire atmosphere that Gather created was spot-on. They achieved a romantic and intimate feel in our woodland setting – it felt like we were in a fairy tale! They thought of and took care of every last detail, and Gather’s creations were absolutely stunning! My bouquet was even more beautiful and perfect than I could have ever imagined, and Gather even built us an arch that had cascading flowers. The continued communication leading up to our wedding showed us that Gather was invested in our vision and was really comforting for us.
Ultimately, Gather went above and beyond any expectations we had, and help to make our wedding the most beautiful day we could want. I would recommend Gather to anyone and everyone looking for a down-to-earth florist willing to work with brides to achieve a stunning and magical day.

Amy did an amazing job at my daughter's wedding. The bouquets were very unique and gorgeous. Simple, but elegant. I would recommend Amy to any one who wants a creative, and unique look to their event.

    Talented Florist, but worst communicator

I’m writing this review as a closure to my dealings with Amy, owner of Gather Design. It’s a long story that spun for almost a two-year period. The key takeaway is: while Amy is certainly a talented florist (her past recognition said enough, and was the key reason I hired Amy as my florist), her communication and customer service is a disaster that has caused so much unnecessary stress and pain in my wedding planning. My biggest takeaway from wedding planning is: do not get fixated on vendor’s portfolios, focus on whether vendors are the type of people you want to work with, and whether they care about their customers. OK, there’s my story:

I got engaged in Feb 2019 and the wedding was planned for June. I hired Amy as my florist because her past works aligned with my wedding vision the most. I never met Amy in person but had a phone call with her before signing the contract. She sounded nice and professional on the call, no red flag. We signed in Apr 2019 and I paid a $2,100 non-refundable deposit

Since Apr, we had a few short Email communications. Amy was responsive. The first sign of problem emerged in Sep/Oct of 2019. I had a small event in Sep and bought a $275 bouquet from Amy (separate from the wedding arrangement). The flowers withered faster than I thought, so I wrote Amy an Email. I was very nice in the Email and just wanted to ask for advice on how to avoid a similar thing from happening on my bridal bouquet the next year. I sent the Email on Sep 15 and followed up again on Sep 20. No response. In the meantime, I continued to see Amy posting Ins stories and posts. I become a bit anxious about the long period of no-response. I started calling & texting. The phone was on but would ring until voice mail. No text response neither. Two weeks passed by, still nothing, I became really panicked. Was she mad at me because I had criticism to her bouquet? Was this personal? Why would she continue to have ins activities while ignoring my reach outs? Will she be difficult to reach when it’s closer to my wedding day? What would I do if that happens? Those were some of the thoughts that went through my mind, causing a lot of stress and worry. Finally, after 18 days, on Oct 2 Amy responded to my Email saying she had a few weeks off. I responded nicely but pressed she could have sent me a text saying that she’s off and would have saved me from all those worries. She then responded she set up an Email auto-response. I never got it from any of my Emails. Besides, based on my text, she should be able to tell I did not get that auto-response (if it’s really set up as she said), but she still chose to stay ultra-silent for 18 straight days while having ins activities on the side. It was not a good experience to be treated like this. While I was relieved Amy eventually got back in touch, the 18-day episode gave me a bad feeling toward working with Amy….I only hoped my wedding would go without a glitch

My wishes were not heard…of course, it was not because of Amy but a bigger problem - Covid. It became apparent to us in March that our June 2020 wedding was not going to happen. Amy was pretty gracious when we asked for a reschedule. June moved to late Aug. By July, we knew late Aug was not happening either. Given the huge uncertainty of Covid in the summer of 2020, we could not decide on another day. Like many other couples, we started reaching out to vendors to discuss the situation. Amy was responsive at first, proposing to move it to another date by Aug of the next year. That Email was sent in mid-July 2020. I followed up with a long, personal Email asking whether we could either extend that one-year re-schedule limit to a longer period (in case we have to prioritize family planning) or negotiate some settlement on the deposit. No respond….As time went on, I realized Amy fall back to her no-response pattern….Only this time, it has lasted until the time I’m writing this review. Yes, from July 2020 to the end of Apr 2021, 10 months, despite multiple reach outs from Email, text, calls, ins, Amy would not return me a single word. During the first 2 months (circa Jul -Sep 2020), she would still post on ins, mostly daily videos of her children. This made me quite mad, to be honest...I was pleading with her to have a conversation while she’s posting daily video stories. Then she went silent on ins too. In Oct 2020, all of a sudden, she had activities on ins again (ins become my only way of knowing what’s going on with Amy). This time she’s working on a wedding. It’s a beautiful wedding and she posted 20+ ins stories detailing how she designed the aisle flowers. I thought maybe she’s back on so I reached out on Ins and other means too. Nothing. And that nothingness continued. I stopped reaching to her in Nov 2020. I didn’t see any point in trying to reach her. Her ins went completely dark following that Oct wedding too.

So this is my story with Amy. To this point, I don’t think there’s any chance she’ll come back to discuss with me about reschedules or settlement on the $2K deposit. I’d say the emotional pain and stress she has inflicted along the way through her silent wall was much more than the monetary loss. I get it’s COVID, wedding vendors were hit hard. But at least everyone except Amy was willing to talk. By now, I have either forge or settled despites with all other wedding vendors. I was really moved by the grace and honesty of many vendors during the COVID crisis. In return, I’ve also shown my grace to vendors as long as there’s an open dialogue. I would never understand why Amy treated me the way she has done. It’ll remain a puzzle to me. But the passage of time has brought peace, and I decide to let it go. I wish I had known Amy’s communication issue before I hired her. Thus I’m writing this review here. Hope all brides have their dream wedding and smooth planning.

Attached are few screenshots of my attempted reach out to Amy. Some during the 18-day episode in 2019, some following her ongoing silence since July 2020.
