If you’re looking to get married in the Austin area, check out Garey House in Georgetown! Everyone we worked at the venue did an amazing job answering our questions and making sure our wedding day went exactly as Plant. Our wedding on 04.12.26 was absolutely PERFECT!!
They provide special pricing for smaller weddings, which we greatly appreciated as we were trying to stay within budget.
My wedding coordinator Micayla, also works at the venue. If you also need a wedding coordinator for your special day, Micayla is the way to go!! She’s amazing! -

We had our wedding at The Garey House in November after the new renovations, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The updates to the venue are beautiful and made the spaces feel open, functional, and welcoming.
Working with Candice was a pleasure - she was responsive, helpful, and easy to work with throughout the planning process. On the day of the wedding, everything ran smoothly, and it was clear the venue is well managed.
Our guests especially loved the large open park and surrounding grounds. The setting felt peaceful and scenic, and it provided great opportunities for photos. The location was also ideal, quiet and removed from the city, but still close enough to Austin for convenient travel and nearby lodging in Georgetown.
Overall, The Garey House was a great choice for our wedding, and we would happily recommend it to couples looking for a well-maintained venue with both indoor and outdoor options. -

Beautiful and Peaceful Venue
We had our wedding in December after the new renovations. The space is beautiful with extra room indoors for any possible inclement weather. We had our cocktail hour in the main house and our ceremony and reception in the new hall.
The park is beautiful and quiet and great for pictures. Location is far enough from Austin to be peaceful and lovely, but close enough for easy travel and plenty of hotel and airbnb options.
They provide a list of recommended vendors, and we highly recommend using Dream Events for catering and florals, Full Scope Entertainment for music and sound, and most importantly HEATHER with Moments and Milestones for a day of coordinator.
Heather knows this venue inside and out and took so much stress out of the weeks leading up to the event, and allowed us to enjoy the day of instead of worrying about details. I never imagined we could have such a perfect day :)

We absolutely love working at Garey House! The team is incredibly organized, and the customer service, especially from Candice, is top-notch. Candice goes above and beyond, taking the time to explain the setup details and options to the clients. In our collaborative meetings, where I serve as the coordinator, Candice has shown exceptional patience. Our clients have made numerous setup requests, and Candice responds promptly, making sure to accommodate their needs. Working here is a joy because there are no last-minute surprises for clients. Everything is communicated thoroughly well in advance, and Candice ensures that everyone is on the same page. It truly makes our job a breeze! We also want to express our appreciation for the excellent collaboration with the event manager, Heather. Thank you, guys, for being so awesome with the clients. My wife and I were married at the Garey House on November 20th and it was absolutely amazing. Garey House offers a beautiful setting which speaks for itself. We not only save $ on the venue but on decor and floral as well...because Garey House offers much of that ambiance on it's own. -

Garey House is an amazing venue to work with. The general managers and on-site managers are fantastic to work with and allow individualizations with floor plans. The venue itself is stunning. There are so many places for guests to explore and admire. The bridal suite and groom suite are large and very accommodating, including bathrooms. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this venue to any bride. -

My experience getting married at the Garey House was nothing less than an absolute dream. Our day was so perfect that I still can't believe it. The team at the Garey House is professional, friendly and most importantly understanding. They will work with you to make sure you're day is everything you've ever imagined.
The venue is BEAUTIFUL. It has to be one of the most beautiful locations in the greater Austin area. For the price the service and venue are unbelievable.
We couldn't be happier with our experience. Thank you so much to the Garey House team. -

I have no idea how i found Garey house in my venue search but i went to the very first open house when they started doing weddings. The rate was a steal and i booked it immediately. Our wedding day weather was perfect for an outdoor wedding. The venue is so beautiful and dreamy. Im so glad the Garey's donated their home and land to the City. So many special days are being celebrated here. -

Garey House was the perfect venue for our wedding of 100 guests. We worked closely with Kerbie for the year leading up to our wedding day and we are so appreciative of all of her help, advice, and multiple tours that she gave us of the venue. We used the Garey House grounds for our engagement photos as well which was a perfect introduction to the space. All of our guests couldn’t stop telling us how much they love the space and grounds and we are so grateful that we held our wedding reception there. -

Garey House was the entire reason we chose to have a wedding! We weren't planning on having a traditional wedding, but when my husband saw it while visiting Garey Park one day last year, he fell in love. He brought me to the park shortly after, and I saw for myself what he meant.
The grounds are gorgeous, the rental timeframe is much longer than some other venues we saw in the past, and they include tables, chairs and other items that typically have to be rented.
Kerbie was a dream to work with! She answered all of my million-plus questions with such patience, haha. Even when I flip-flopped a bit when finalizing our floorpans, she was so kind and accommodating. Micayla was our day-of site manager, and she was absolutely fantastic as well!
The price is also very right, especially for everything that comes with the rental cost. They were also very accommodating when we had to push out our original May date due to COVID. Garey House is truly a hidden gem!
One thing to keep in mind: Because this is not a privately-owned business (it's the City of Georgetown in one of their parks), some of the rules and regulations felt a little bit strict, including their current COVID guidelines (which we were 1000% on board with, so that was great!), but also some other rules that made some things just a tad trickier. It's nothing that cannot be worked with, but something to keep in mind. -

This property is BEAUTIFUL. The grounds are well kept and so charming! We had our reception on the back lawn/porch area because of the beautiful backyard feel, not to mention the great view of the foutain/pond. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind! I cannot say enough good things about how help and friendly they were throughout the whole process. They set up all the big stuff and create a back up plan in case of bad weather. We got married on the terrace so knowing that we had a back up plan, in case of Texas weather, made choosing them all the more worth it! Our wedding photos came out beautiful and everyone who attended got great photos too! The bridal area was a spacious and comfortable place to get ready! -

Garey House is a beautiful venue with indoor and outdoor space to fit your ceremony and reception needs. This venue is ideal for a wedding under 80 people. They do have a space that can accommodate up to 150 outside only, I believe. My ceremony was held in the terrace on and reception was in the great room. My guests loved the venue and kept commenting on how beautiful the house and grounds were. Our site manager for the day was Makayla (forgive me if this is misspelled), she was helpful and friendly.
If you are looking for a wedding venue, I would recommend Garey House. -

WE HAD TO SWITCH VENUES 2 WEEKS BEFORE OUR WEDDING!!! THIS WAS SO TERRIBLE TO HAVE TO DO. PLEASE READ TO BOTTOM.
When we first visited Garey House, we absolutely loved it and thought it would be perfect for our small outdoor wedding. We later regretted this decision with our whole heart. Prior to COVID there were so many rules, almost too many, but still was worth the added work to get everything done that was asked.
COVID came around and we were asked to sign a "COVID Addendum" that was approximately 8 pages long with strict and added rules that went well above what the state or other venues require. We felt forced to comply as we had already booked with Garey House and payments were made. When I asked about these rules I was promptly reminded of the "COVID Addendum which we signed" and then felt backed into a corner by Kerbie as she then threw out words like "postponement" and "Cancelation" for questioning some of these very intense rules. We even asked if we could get the contact info for someone higher up so we could clarify some of these ridiculous regulations. Safety of our loved ones is very important to us, hence the small outdoor wedding. We had our own list of safety measures we wanted to take. I'd like to take a moment to highlight some of these added rules from the "COVID Addendum" and back and forth emails with Kerbie.
*Edible cake cannot be on display for viewing. If we do not wear face masks or gloves during cutting of our cake, then only bride and groom can consume.
*Hope for a small bridal party and family because only 8 people can be in bridal suite and split up 6 and 2 within suite. Only 4 in the Grooms.(vendors included in these numbers)
*Your bridesmaids have to literally stand 6 feet apart from one another during the outdoor ceremony (pretty awkward for photos)
*Strict assigned seating for Ceremony that must correlate with the seating for the reception.
*per this Addendum, its encouraged to "ask the DJ to remind guests to stay 6 ft apart" while on the dance floor (even outside!!!)
*lawn games discouraged and frowned upon.
*guests can only drink when at their table; no standing and mingling with food or drink in hand
*1/2 page of intense regulation on how you can seat your guests (I wish I had time to write that all out) It was the biggest headache imaginable trying to keep "two or more members of same household adjacent to one another with 2 seats of separation between the individuals who are not members of the same household but are attending together can sit adjacent to one another but with 2 seats of separation on either side, or 3 couples may sit across the table from one another-max 6. If you have individuals attending without dates, 4 may sit at table together". And no, I'm not exaggerating, it was a nightmare.
We did our final walk through with Kerbie and when discussing about social distancing, she THREATENED that if our guests are not 6 feet apart or masked or if they are mingling with drinks and not at their assigned seating at the table, that she will get the WILCO Officer to get involved(the Officer that WE PAID FOR in order to open up the BAR!!!!!) if guests are not following these rules!! Then the cherry on top was the back and forth questioning about guests sitting next to this person but they're sitting next to someone not of the same household at the reception and blah blah blah. WE WERE OVER THIS!!! This was the WORST experience EVER!!! There was little to no compassion from Kerbie for what we were going through already planning during COVID..but then all of this stress on top of it! We didn't feel she was understanding or warm not to mention when we asked questions, she just threw the rule book at us and cited regulations/rules. Finally, just 2 weeks before our wedding, we found it was less stressful to switch entirely to a new venue than to stay with Garey House. You know what?! it was the best decision ever. The only sad thing is that we felt robbed of our peace and joy which we started to feel the moment we switched to a different venue and we should have been able to feel this the entire time we were planning. With this entire experience, I feel it is my duty to let others know what this experience was like so you at least are fully aware if you choose this venue. We NEVER would have chosen Garey House had we known we'd go through all of this. So sad that any Bride or Groom would be treated this way. No one needs added stress like this during planning a wedding, especially when you're a covid bride, thats already stressful enough.
