The Santa Ynez Valley grew to be a very special place to my now-wife and I over the course of our relationship. It's the area where we knew we wanted to get married. We visited several of our favorite vineyards in the area as well as some of the most picturesque we never really frequented. In each case, there was a flaw: needlessly expensive...great scenery but lackluster wine... difficulty picturing how your wedding would flow and where it would take take place...AND THEN we found Gainey, which presented none of those problems. It was the perfect place for us. Beautiful, reasonably priced, and a perfect foundation on which to build our kind of wedding. The flow is kind of a given: Ceremony on the hill beneath the tree with vistas on all sides --> cocktails in the barrel room giving out of town guests a fun taste of wine country --> and lastly reception under the stars in their courtyard. And because there was such a clear path (and an amazing staff to walk us down it), my wife and I could concentrate on the details that would make the wedding our own. The people who work at Gainey, Sunny in particular, aren't landlords, they're collaborators and friends. They are with you every step of the way. Sunny set us up with our venue, yes, but also our wine pairings, our wedding planner, our caterer, and more. We could not have asked for a better ally or experience setting up the best day of our lives. It is so cool for us to be able to say that the best wedding we've ever been to is our own. My wife and I will forever love Gainey.

We have loved Gainey wine for years now, so when we decided to renew our wedding vows for our 10th anniversary, location was a no brainer. A beautiful location! Our pictures are stunning and, of course, the wine was excellent!

We had the most amazing wedding at Gainey Vineyard! We got compliments on the food (the bbq was amazing!), the appetizers (everyone loved the sausages), and the overall ambiance. We had guests come from across the country and having everyone meet at a destination as beautiful as Gainey was exactly what we wanted. We had our ceremony on the grass and our reception up on the patio and it was absolutely perfect. Diane and the staff at Gainey was wonderful. It truly was the best day of my life and Gainey was everything I imagined.

We just had our wedding at Gainey Vineyard and it was absolutely AMAZING! I have always loved Gainey but had no idea just how beautiful our wedding was going to be! The setting was absolutely stunning. We had a rustic elegance theme and the vineyard was perfect for that. It was elegant but still casual which is exactly what me and my husband wanted. And the weather for our June wedding was just right. The events coordinator for Gainey is Diane Connor and she is just wonderful to work with! She is friendly, professional and efficient. She is in charge of multiple events at a time and never forgets anything. She is remarkable! We used Gainey as our caterer and the food was delicious! We had tri-tip and chicken and it was done very nicely. It doesn't feel at all like a barbecue dinner because they present it so nicely. Everyone really enjoyed all of the Gainey wines as well. I really can't say enough about having Gainey as our venue. It was so much more beautiful and amazing than I had hoped for. And I had hoped for a lot so that's saying something! :) All of our guests really enjoyed themselves and it really was the best day of my life.... :)

We had the best wedding ever here... they were very laid back but delivered a beautiful event. --The best of both worlds!

We had our April wedding at the barn a 1/2 mile behind the Gainey Tasting Room and it was absolutely amazing! When we were looking for a venue for our April wedding, the barn almost wasn't even brought up because it's usually held for summer weddings, but once we we took a look at it, we were obsessed. The location is where they filmed the Gary Sinese TV Movie "Of Mice & Men" and it truly is stunning. The day of the wedding was a bit chilly, but once we moved to dinner by the heaters and the wind died down, I think everyone warmed up and enjoyed themselves immensely. We held the ceremony under an oak tree, cocktail hour in the barn, the dinner by the cook's shed, and then dancing and dessert in the barn and the outside area. The fire pit was an charming touch and it helped to have pre-built bathrooms. The reason for a 4.6 instead of a 5? You have to bring in everything, and I mean everything. The upfront rental price is a little bit misleading once they add on fees and services. You have to be out by 10 pm. No exceptions. (Not really their fault, though - that's due to a noise ordinance). But other than that - I really don't think my hubby and I could have found a more beautiful spot - it will hold such a dear place in our hearts and we made such amazing memories. It will be fun to go back and visit over the years - we even made a wine bottle "time capsule" with Gainey Wine! The Hollywood History and the magic of this place is definitely worth it - our wedding was a fairy tale!
