High Energy Unforgettable Band!!

Funk Evolution is hands down the most energetic and unforgettable band you’ll ever see! We’ve had the pleasure of watching them perform many times in Saratoga Springs and loved them so much that we hired them for our wedding in Vermont.

From the very beginning, Rocco’s communication was incredible—he is one of the most responsive and professional people in the wedding industry. He made the planning process effortless, ensuring every detail was perfect for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The result was a truly personal and special experience tailored to us.

When it came time to celebrate, Funk Evolution completely transformed our reception. The dance floor was packed from the very first song to the last, and the energy never slowed down. 13 Years Later, Still Elite!

13 years before I got married, me and my 20-something group of rowdy friends would run around Saratoga looking for where Funk Evolution was playing that night. We did this for years upon years. I was convinced then that this was the best band in town, that I made Rocco a promise, that he and the band would play at my wedding one day.

Fast forward 13 years, and the best band in town deliver hands down the best live concert/jam session I have ever been to, and I am not just saying that because it was my wedding reception. They delivered the fun and funk in a way no other band could have done (overcame some stilly venue problems). They were so on point even staff at the venue were dancing as they worked the reception.

This band is intoxicating, and months later I still get comments about how amazing our wedding band was.

Not only did Rocco and his team handle our reception wonderfully, he ensured me he would take care of everything for our ceremony as well. There was a point in the procession where I thought we were going to have an issue, and it's like he read my mind and was prepared for it.

There is no one like Rocco and there is no band out there like Funk Evolution.

The reason you should get married

The reason you should get married is to have Funk Evolution play at your wedding. I'm kidding, but not really. Not only did Rocco and crew tear the house down at our wedding, but Rocco was the consummate collaborator in the year preceding our event, taking all of our wedding nuances in stride and handling them like a champ (cross-cultural wedding, double ceremonies, complicated music cues, etc.). He was an absolutely charismatic and generous MC on the day/night of, managing multiple fun surprises by family, time crunches, crowd work, and even communication about venue transportation. The music and performance itself was phenomenal - energetic, engaging, simultaneously fresh and classic, and about which we've received countless compliments from guests since. My now-wife and I thought we put together an all star lineup of vendors and we are in complete agreement that Funk Evolution was the clear standout. You will not find a better band than this.

Party band!

If you want your wedding dance floor to be lively and fun—HIRE THIS BAND! From the moment we first reached out, Rocco was incredibly responsive, informative, and totally on board with whatever we envisioned. His detailed proposal made it clear that they’re not only an amazing band, but true wedding experts.

They handled everything from the ceremony to cocktail hour and all the way through the reception. Once we provided the information they needed, we didn’t have to think about a single thing. Our guests were raving about them all night, and people kept asking for their name. Our favorite part was how interactive the band was on the dance floor—they brought the energy and kept everyone engaged.

An Incredible Band That Made Our Reception Unforgettable

Funk Evolution was one of the very best decisions we made for our wedding. Rocco was wonderful to work with throughout the planning process—organized, kind, and full of helpful guidance (especially when we were choosing our parent dance songs!). His detailed pre-wedding questionnaire ensured no detail was overlooked, and on the big day, the band followed our direction perfectly.

The dance floor was packed the entire reception—exactly what we hoped for! The band brought 150% energy to every single song. They are incredibly talented musicians, and they nailed every request we made.

After the wedding, nearly every guest commented on how amazing the band was. Funk Evolution truly made our wedding unforgettable.

The best of the best!

My husband found funk evolution for our June 2023 wedding and it was the greatest decision we made for our wedding day! Even two years later we still have people tell us our wedding was the best wedding they’ve been to because our band was so awesome. Rocco was amazing to work with and they were able to do a beautiful rendition of dancing in the dark for our first dance. I could not recommend funk evolution more! They made our day unforgettable!

There’s no other option but Funk Evolution!!

By far the most fun live band you will ever see. We’ve seen them live at different venues in the area and we knew we wanted them at our wedding and they absolutely killed it. All of our guests couldn’t get over how awesome they were. A few of them come out into the crowd and play all around you - two saxophones, trumpet, and guitar. Nothing better than a classic battle of the horns. The energy was so high and we didn’t get off the dance floor the entire time. They play a variety of genres, and can tailor it more to what you like for your wedding. We didn’t want the party to stop! Also Rocco was the MC for the wedding and did a great job and our guests complimented his energy and keeping things moving during the introductions, speeches, etc. Can’t recommend enough!!

The best wedding band you could ask for!

Funk Evolution was incredible! From the very beginning on the day we booked through to the wedding day they were incredibly responsive and very thorough. They did everything and more to ensure the day went exactly as we had envisioned it. On the day of, they acted as a day-of-planner in a way given they ensured everything was always on schedule and checked in with us when necessary if we needed to make any adjustments. Beyond the coordination and communication, they were an amazing band - we had multiple guests come up to us throughout the night saying they were the best band they'd ever seen! They even added several off-script/surprise songs based on what they heard from speeches over the night (like a brief Narco by Timmy Trumpet solo given my obsession with the Mets and closing the night out with Shallow given how much the movie Star is Born was referenced in one of the bridal party speeches) which was awesome! Lastly, they even worked with us to add a 30-minute DJ set based on songs we were hoping to hear on top of the live music they were performing which we really appreciated and speaks to their willingness to cater to whatever vision you have for your wedding day!

All in all, Funk Evolution was a big reason our wedding day was the best and happiest day of our lives and we could not recommend them more highly!

Everything we wanted and far more

"Funkevolution was a fantastic band, and had our guests joyfully packed on the dance floor the entire night. The energy Rocco and his bandmates provided with not just their tight, intricate playing and the perfect song choices to match the crowd's energy and keep the vibe going, but in the high energy interaction with the audience absolutely made the party. We are musicians ourselves and the party guests included many professional NYC musicians, and all were incredibly impressed with the precision and high level performance quality. In addition, Rocco was an absolute pleasure to deal with, even in the face of some challenging weather and intermittent electricity. The band was willing to learn a brand new arrangement we provided and the result was a fun-filled dance that we hope will become a staple of their sets, and Rocco was absolutely professional and a pleasure to deal with before and during the event. I've seen a number of bands "phone it in" - not your group. Everyone could tell that the band itself was having a great time playing together and making great music, and that energy translated into a spectacular party that no one will forget. We would hire the band again in a heartbeat. Thank you for a truly wonderful and memorable night."

Our favorite vendor

Funk Evolution was recommended by two family friends who have hired them for parties in the past. We were a bit reluctant to hire such a substantial band as we were concerned that they may be too loud for our intimate space. Rocco assured us that they had the appropriate equipment, and capabilities, to maintain a comfortable balance; they delivered! The band sounded glorious and the volume was comfortable from start to finish. The crowd interaction was unbelievable and our guests were amazed at what a high energy and polished show they put on. We were brought up to the stage for the final song of the night and we felt like rock stars. All evening, Funk Evolution ensured the focus was on us. They went out of their way to make our guests feel like family and to ensure our experience was exactly what we had hoped it would be. During dinner, Rocco even stopped by our table to refill our drinks for us, who does that? He's such a class act. We could not be more grateful for the memories Funk Evolution created for us and our guests on our wedding day. We will remember it fondly forever.

The ultimate party REQUIRES Funk Evolution!

I don't even know where to start. From the minute my husband and I saw Funk Evolution at my cousin's wedding, we knew we wanted them at our own! They were the first vendor we booked after the venue and from that moment on, Rocco was incredible. He is communicative, kind, and has such a vast understanding of both the wedding and entertainment businesses! He helped me select music for the ceremony and cocktail hour, which was perfect, and then, at the reception.....whew. For our wedding, we wanted a big party where everyone would have a blast. Funk Evolution blew every expectation of that completely out of the water. They had the crown going from the minute the reception started, until the night ended (which no one wanted it to end!) They are so engaging, talented and fun, even people who I never thought would leave their chairs were on the dance floor all night long! So many guests have reached out to ask me the name of our band because they have never seen one so good, and I have no doubt that every future wedding in my family will be another Funk Evolution party!!!

Adelphi wedding May 2025

We hired Funk Evolution for our wedding at the Adelphi Hotel in Saratoga Springs and could not be happier with how it went. Coordinating everything with Rocco was easy and he made sure to include any special requests we had. Right from the start of the reception the band did a great job getting the party started and keeping it going. And the performance itself was excellent as these are all very talented musicians. Everyone had a blast. People especially enjoyed the dueling saxophones/horns. Thank you again to Rocco and the entire Funk Evolution band for helping to make our day so special! Highly recommend.

The MOST amazing band!!!

I can’t even begin to explain how amazing Funk Evolution was! For our December wedding, my husband insisted on having a band and I agreed! First and foremost, Funk Evolution was so responsive from the start. We had heard from others that they were incredible so we knew that we wanted to book them! When Ryan first reached out, they had multiple other inquiries for our wedding day. We paid our first deposit almost immeadiately to secure them and it was truly the BEST decision we ever made. Leading up to the wedding our communication with Rocco was amazing, responding to us always so promptly. We had a winter wedding with around 110 people. It was important to us that everyone would have an amazing time on the dance floor, and was worried the number wouldn’t sufficiently fill the feel for the space. Funk Evolution absolutely KILLED it, people RAVED and are still talking about them!!! We were all so sad when the night ended because the band and dance floor was so fun. One of our guests even said “I’ve seen Journey in concert and this band is better than them!” That was just the beginning of compliments about this amazing band and even better people. From the initial contact, the lead up to the wedding, the few weeks before, the ceremony music, cocktail hour music, and the reception - I truly couldn’t have asked for a better band. They truly exceeded my expectations and I couldn’t be happier that we booked them. BOOK THEM NOW!!!!!

This band does not disappoint!

We hired Funk Evolution after enjoying their club events for the better part of a decade. For years, we have brought friends and family to see them at Dango's in Saratoga every summer and we decided many years ago that 'when we get married', Funk Evolution will be our wedding band. Our familiy and friends love the band but had some reservations about having the 'same show' at our wedding that we've all seen so many times in our favorite bar. We proceeded in faith that Rocco would ensure our wedding day was unique and special and he completely delivered!

Rocco not only responded to every call and email within minutes, Rocco also was happy to meet with us twice for planning meetings. He made fantastic suggestions to make our experience so incredibly unique and we had so much (extra) comfort having a trusted professional at the helm of our wedding, that we've known for so many years.

Our wedding day approached quickly, Rocco continued to be our most responsive vendor. We had some last minute changes he took in stride and when the day arrived, his execution was seamless.

Though we love 'club band' Funk Evolution, they polish up incredibly well into a masterful wedding band. They looked so sharp, their song list was absolutely epic (we trusted Rocco to decide the song selections) and they took our party on a musical journey that we hadn't experienced at Dango's. The night started rather casually with some old school Soul, moved into some crazy Disco medley's after dinner (where did those come from?) and elevated into 80s/90s guilty pleasure rock and modern top-40 with some modern country mixed in. It was so over the top. Though our venue was not thrilled that we went late, the band graciously played 3 encores ending our wild, wild party. At one point, my Father-in-Law remarked that the bartenders 'look board' because everyone was on the dance floor.

We're both in our early 30s, we've attended no less than 20 weddings over the last decade together; never, ever have we been to such an unbelievable party (our friends and family agree). We are so grateful we stuck to our 'early 20s' vision and hired this band.

Hire Funk Evolution. Don't think twice. Do it as early as possible. Thank me later.

Hire this band immediately

Rocco and team were wonderful to work with! They responded quickly, learned a few songs for us, flawlessly orchestrated our ceremony music, and most importantly GOT THE PARTY STARTED AND KEPT IT GOING! My friends and family raved about them. They played a variety of genres and even played a special Phish song for us at the end which made us so happy! Not many bands have that range. They do and they crush it! They also helped us with up lighting which really made our venue look beautiful the night of. I highly recommend this team for all of your music and lighting needs!

This band is everything!

Funk Evolution was the centerpiece and highlight of our wedding day. Rocco spent so much time helping us ahead of our wedding day, he made us feel like we were his only priority at all times. He created custom mixes of our introduction songs and our first dance. The band learned songs for our parent dances, and they were better than the original (I get emotional thinking about my father-daughter dance, they were just THAT good). Then came 'the party' after we cut our cake - over 2 hours of non-stop music that seemed to get more and more energetic and fun as the night continued. Rocco DJ'd our afterparty and he took us on a musical trip to Ibiza with house music for 2 hours - What a vibe! We asked, he delivered, sensational.

We will never forget how engaged and eager to please Rocco and his band were leading up to our wedding and the day of. We felt like a part of a big band family who embraced us and made our moment so perfect. My Bridesmaid has recently hired the band for her wedding and a cousin of my Husband is in the process of booking them as well; we look forward to enjoying their show as guests at these weddings and recommend them to everyone!

Entertainment like no other!

I cannot say enough good things about the Funk Evolution Band. At the end of the night, we literally could not get people off the dance floor! Coming from a musical family, live music was a must for me at our wedding. We also had their sound and lighting team set up additional things for us around the venue that really made the space 'pop'. They did a perfect job, at a great price, and were so professional. Rocco's energy as emcee is electric. He kept everything on schedule and let people know what was going on all night long. He worked constantly to be sure my husband and I were where we needed to be, when we needed to be there and kept our entire night on track in such a super professional way. We never felt rushed or pulled away from what we were doing but he somehow just directed us through the night in the most seamless way. He was also so accommodating and made changes on the fly to some of the special requests we had changed last minute. I have always heard Funk Evolution was the best in town, but I am so glad my guests, husband, and I were able to experience it first-hand. People are still talking about how amazing they were! They truly made our day so special.

best.night.ever!

1000/10 experience with Funk Evolution on our wedding night in September! Rocco and his team put on a performance of a lifetime that all of our friends and family continue to talk about til this day! We cant express how grateful we are for them! Rocco was beyond proficient, professional and timely from the very first inquiry email until the end of the night. Between the ceremony music & voiceovers through the last song performed, it was all truly amazing. We couldn't of asked for a better group to lead our night and make it one to remember. You had every guest on the dance floor all night long which is exactly what we wanted. You especially gave me (Torrin - the bride) a night to remember with my girls on that dance floor!

We cant recommend Funk Evolution enough to take care of your wedding, party, special event, etc.! You will not be disappointed! Heres to more nights out on the town with you guys, and possibly an anniversary party! Who knows....!! Thank you FE!!!!!!

The amount of great things I could say about Funk Evolution is endless. This band truly made our reception and after party a huge hit. Guests have not stopped raving about how amazing they were. Amazing band

I have been to many, many affairs and this was, by far, the best band I have seen. I have friends and family reaching out to say the same thing. What a great band!

It is hard to put into words just how much we love this band and all they did for us. Not only did they put on the show of a lifetime at our wedding, Rocco was our sanity in the months leading up to the wedding. He answered all of our questions so quickly, responded to every email, every request, usually in a matter of minutes. It is hard to believe he can be this attentive with the incredible number of weddings on their plate but he made it seem effortless.

Our wedding was beyond belief. We were prepared for a crazy party with all of our Frat & Sorority friends but none of us could've anticipated just how wild this band was going to be.

We're in our late 20s so, let's face it, we have been to an exhaustive number of weddings the last 10 years. We've seen dozens of generic DJs and wedding bands; somehow they all sound the same and we just do our best to have a great time. Usually that means spending far too much time at the bar and not nearly enough on the dance floor.

Funk Evolution was refreshing beyond words. The song elections they performed (which we chose) were so energetic and fresh. They played a lot of the songs in ways we've never experienced them before and our sance floor was absolutely packed all night. Our caterers asked us to shut down the band before dinner because they needed guests to sit down. Most of our guests barely ate dinner and the band was gracious enough to return to stage early so everyone could continue dancing.

To say our wedding is the talk of our friends group would be an understatement. Instead of our party ending with a bunch of over served drunken foolery, our guests savored every moment on the dancefloor, partying. I've never felt surrounded by so much love in my life.

Thank you so much Funk Evolution. We will never forget the night you made so perfect for us or all of your hard work. You are the very best.

What a band!!!

My Wife and I have just returned from our Honeymoon and we are so eager to share just how amazing Funk Evolution was at our wedding. We are still glowing as we think about our first dance e that they executed so masterfully, our parent dances they performed that left us in tears of joy and the unbelievable party after dinner. A packed dance floor, deafening sing alongs and their wild sax battle....plus trumpet....plus guitar....it was so crazy. Rocco collaborated with my younger sister to produce a special recording of our Mom giving a toast speech that she recored prior to her passing late last year. We will never, ever forget Rocco's dedication and positive energy in the year leading up to our wedding. We are forever grateful for the entire experience we had with the band from our first inquiry until the end of our wedding night. Unforgettable.

Rocco was so helpful through the entire process! He answered our long list of questions and made everything way less stressful for us. The dance floor was pack the entire night!! Our #1 vendor

We are endlessly in awe of the insanely talented members of Funk Evolution. The show they put on at our wedding was beyond the beyond; the energy, the song selections, their crazy instrument battle on our dancefloor, we never could have imagined the amount of energy, entertainment and pure JOY that this band brought to our wedding day. Though they came highly recommended by our venue, our photographer, our planner...everyone....we'd never seen the band live until our wedding day and weren't entirely sure what to expect; our minds were absolutely blown by the experience. It should also be noted that leading up to the wedding, they were our single most responsive and attentive vendor; I don't think we ever waited more than 45 minutes for a reply from Rocco and we were never made to feel less than his absolute top priority. We had 63 total emails and 2 zoom calls where we completely changed rhe entire plan twice and Rocco's patience was off the charts...he was so happy to accommodate every alteration and was hyper focused on our happiness. We are so grateful and are lifelong fans of this exceptional group of musicians. Don't think twice...book this band!

The BEST Wedding Band

We found Rocco and Funk Evolution through a venue we toured in Saratoga, when we told the coordinator we wanted a wedding band she said we NEEDED Funk Evolution, after some research and speaking with friends in the area we decided they were the perfect band for us. From the start Rocco was so responsive and so happy to accomodate all our needs and so enthusiastic about my vision for our wedding. They learned several songs for us without any hesitation. Fast forward to wedding day, Rocco was amazing with keeping up the communication, was an amazing emcee coordinating everything from entrances to speeches and even calming the nerves of those speaking. The band was absolutely phenomenal performers, the music was amazing and every member is truly so talented. They had great crowd involvement and kept the energy up the entire night. They adjusted their plans based on us and the energy of the room and incorporated some fun solos into the night. When dinner went late they adjusted their timeline to accommodate. Our guests could not stop raving about how great the band was. It truly was the highlight of the night. We cannot thank Rocco and Funk Evolution enough for making our wedding so perfect.

A great experience.

Best Wedding Band Ever

Funk Evolution was the talk of our wedding. Rocco and the band were amazing in providing a fun and upbeat experience for our wedding. Many of our guests called it the “best wedding band” they had ever seen. The talent of the band was amazing and the band worked with us to play the songs we wanted! Above and Beyond

Funk's management was remarkable to work with from start to finish. Details were worked out well in advance and Funk stayed in contact with the bride and groom to make sure their wishes were being met. The guests didn't know what hit them when the 2 sax players appeared in the dining room and escorted everyone out to the ballroom! The excitement lasted all night, there wasn't an empty spot on the dance floor until the wedding was over. Everyone agreed it was the best entertainment they have ever experienced at a wedding. I am the mother of the bride...Rocco and his crew played an important role in making this the most remarkable and classiest night for the bride and groom.

Funk Evolution is an exceptional band—they brought terrific energy to our wedding weekend. All the tracks they played were awesome, had our guests boogieing all evening.

They were also super on top of things with the flow of the evening, MCing, being flexible where needed. Funk evolution is everything

Hello future Brides and Grooms! My wife Libby and I had the absolute pleausre of having Funk Evolution at our wedding last October. The band was over the top. They all have so much energy, play all the right songs at exactly the right time and every member of the band was so kind and approachable, they felt like mega talented wedding guests who played music for us, almost like family. Rocco was our most responsive vendor, we shared over 40 emails and 7 calls leading up to the wedding, I don't think we ever waited more than an hour or two for a response at most. We are very confident in recommending Funk Evolution.

Beyond a night to remember!!!

You would be crazy NOT to hire FE for your wedding reception. We actually set our wedding date, based on their availability, and we are so glad we did!!!! EVERY ONE of our guests was blown away and said it was the best wedding they’d ever been to!!!!! Rocco and his team were true entertainers; engaging the guests with their dynamite horn section right in the middle of the dance floor. It’s honestly a challenge to sit once they start playing-the beat and their energy are simply contagious.
Prior to the wedding Rocco was consistently prompt when responding to the MANY questions I had. He never failed to offer his own suggestions and/or advice when appropriate-and I went with all of his ideas!!! (Things I would’ve never thought of on my own). They have an extensive song list to pick from and are even willing to learn a song or two, for you, when given a reasonable amount of time.
I cannot emphasize enough just how dynamic this group of musicians is-and fun, fun, FUN!!!!!!! I’d hire them again without a single reservation. You know what they say, “ya get what ya pay for”. Ya just can’t go wrong…

The Happiest Bride Ever

Funk Evolution was the centerpiece to our intimate wedding. We had just under 100 guests and were worried that there'd be a lack of energy with such a small party. We had nothing to worry about! The energy was so great all night long and as we looked around the room after dinner, there were only 5 people who weren't on the dance floor; they were all at the bar! Funk Evolution had the entire party on the dancefloor for 2 hours straight, we were amazing and so grateful. Thank you for making me the happiest bride ever.

The Best!!!

We first contacted Funk (as we call then) almost 2 years before our wedding, from that first call until the day we were finally married, the responsiveness of Rocco was top notch. When you are planning a wedding, your stress level is directly affected by how quickly your vendors respond, how helpful they are and how accomodating they choose to be; no vendor responded faster, was mire helpful or accomodating than Funk! We made so many changes along the way, added items, removed items....we were so undecided, but never once did Rocco make me feel like the Bridezilla I truly was. The whole process of getting married is so overwhelming but Rocco kept us sane and ensured we never felt like a burden.

Once the wedding day arrived, the band sprung into action and put on the show of a lifetime for our friends and family. We danced for 3 hours straight and didn't have a worry in the world.

All around, our experience with Funk was a complete pleasure and we will never forget how wonderful they made our wedding day.

The absolute best around!

There is simply no better Bridal Entertainment than Funk Evolution anywhere near New York's Capital Region. I've worked in the events industry for 15 years and have worked with every band around. When it came time to select my wedding Entertainment, the answer was clear as day, Funk Evolution. The qualities I find most defining about Bridal vendors is their responsiveness to calls and emails, their consistency, overall quality and demeanor. Rocco and his group have always been the most enjoyable vendor to work with, Rocco's email responses are unbelievably fast, the whole group is eager to please, kimd and flexible and when it comes to the 'it factor' Funk Evolution is far abovr the rest; their performance is absolutely electric and I've never once seen a crowd fail to respond in kind. My wedding day was no different, the dance floor was packed all night, Rocco rolled with my last minute changes to the itierary like an absolute pro and his Master of Ceremonies work was epic. Before Funk Evolution played a single note, he had my party wrapped around his fingers, screaming at the top of their lungs for our big entrance. The room was alive and ready to party before we entered the room and the energy never dipped until it was time to head to the afterparty. We couldn't be more grateful.

Unbelievable experience

Funk Evolution came very highly recommended by our photographer and venue manager and we couldn't be happier that we followed their recommendation! The band was so professional, accommodating and talented. They learned our first dance and performed it better than the original recording. Later in the evening, they performed our parent dances and, again, did wonderful. Their whole setup looked so clean and they dressed very nicely as well. Our guests were thrilled with the dual saxophones in the audience, it is an absolute must! We look forward to watching Funk Evolution continue to have wonderful success for many years to come. Concert-level entertainment!

We knew as soon as we got engaged that we wanted FunkEvolution at our wedding! Rocco and the gang were incredibly professional and easy to work with throughout the planning process. They knew exactly what they were doing and they were able to provide helpful advice when needed, but otherwise didn’t need a lot of input from us, which I really appreciated during the busy pre-wedding weeks. I felt nothing but confident going into the wedding with FE at the helm.

The band went above and beyond at the reception, even cutting their dinner short when needed to provide a distraction when a guest had a medical emergency. They handled everything in stride and played upbeat and fun music that kept everyone on the dance floor. Several of my guests remarked that they never left the dance floor and felt like they were at a concert instead of a wedding. They even “jammed” with my FIL on the harmonica, which was a highlight of the evening. I would wholeheartedly recommend Funk Evolution for any event!

Funk Evolution is a vibe!

My wife and I got married in November of 2022 and had hired Funk Evolution pre-pandemic for our 2020 wedding. Rocco couldn't have possibly been more accommodating as we navigated 3 different date changes and even contemplated elopement; Rocco offered our deposit be refunded each time we reached out to make a date change but we were dead-set on having the best band around at our wedding, what a great decision that was!

Admittedly, some of our guests were still weary of attending a large event while issues with the pandemic were still lingering. Funk Evolution (and our other vendors) willingly shared proof of vaccination with us to set our guests minds at ease and a couple band members who were not singing even wore masks at the reception, per our request. They were so understanding and helped us make a not-ideal situation absolutely comfortable. Ultimately, we ended up having an unbelievably fun wedding reception with a packed dance floor and zero worries in the world.

I realize this is a bit of an unconventional review but highlighting the lengths that Rocco and his team went to to ensure we had the most wonderful day of our lives seemed to be spot on. From the start of the pandemic thru our wedding day there was endless uncertainty but every single time we discussed things with Rocco, he completely set our minds at ease and allowed us to enjoy not only our day but the whole process, as stressful as it was. Funk evolution is a must!

Funk Evolution MADE OUR wedding!!! People are still talking about our wedding 6 months later and keep saying this was the best band they've ever heard. Our wedding felt like a concert and our guests did not sit once the whole night! They brought the energy and were the most memorable part of our wedding. Amazing wedding band

Funk evolution was FANTASTIC at our September wedding in Saratoga. We had a complicated venue with a lot of logistics and Rocco was an incredible point person. He also knew how to keep things light and fun (even when the bride was stressed out). We had Alex on keyboard for the dinner portion of our reception and people were absolutely blown away by his voice. The full band played during the dance portion of the night and they were fun, energetic, and kept the party going. Our guests were calling for an encore at the end of the night! They were by far the best part of our reception and all anyone could talk about afterwards! The song choices, dueling saxophones, and crowd interactions were all amazing. Would not hesitate to recommend them and would book them again in a heartbeat!

The right entertainment at the right price

My wife and I chose Funk Evolution for our wedding after enjoying them at my friend's wedding in 2019. They blew the roof off at that wedding and they blew the roof off of ours! Their pricing was quite fair for all that was included; we did price a couple of other popular groups and after comparing their 'full package' pricing, we found Funk Evolution to be competitive. We are very happy with our decision to hire Funk Evolution and are excited to attend 3 of our friends weddings that all hired them after seeing them at our wedding.

Funk Evolution took our wedding to a level we never imagined!

I've spent 28 years dreaming of my wedding day. My dress, my shoes, my hair and makeup, my prince charming and a huge celebration. Little did I know, for all 28 years, the one piece I had never thought about was our entertainment. My Fiance and I had envisioned a large party with an intimate vibe, a packed dancefloor from start to finish. We looked far and wide for a band or DJ that we thought was just the right mix of exciting and fresh with old school vibes; we stumbled upon Funk Evolution at a friends wedding and we knew we'd found just what we were looking for.

From our first email, Rocco was warm and inviting, accomodating and our most responsive vendor. He felt like an old friend just trying to help make our dreams and vision come true. Rocco customized a package just for us; a string duo for our ceremony, a jazz guitarist for cocktail hour, both the band and DJ service for our Reception. He met with us three times and catered to our every whim musically. The band learned our first dance and my Father-Daughter dance as well as a memorial song for my Mom (who passed earlier this year). The band was more than we ever dreamed of; they were very high energy but felt humble in their delivery, although it was a very interactive show, they made sure that WE were the highlight of the evening, they even pulled us up to play tambourine with them. The mix of music was perfect, old Soul music for my parents, Arena Rock songs for my Husband's family and tons of high energy party hits for us. The dance floor was packed and the building shook as the band built the crowds energy into a wild party. Looking back, my only regret was not hiring a videographer so I can live it all again; it was the most exciting and emotional day of my life.

Funk Evolution couldn't have delivered any more than they did; they genuinely went above and beyond all of our (lofty) expectations and we could not be more grateful. I wish we lived closer to where they perform so we can attend their shows, maybe we'll spend some anniversaries with them in the future.

Best band ever!

Rocco and Funk Evolution blew us away! They are kind, easy to work with and simply amazing at what they do! If you want a band that makes everyone get up and dance this is the band for you. We had the absolute best time and they made everything perfect. People are still commenting (almost 6 months post wedding) on how they have never heard a better wedding band!!! When looking for a band, I felt nervous because I never heard them live and never booked a band before but trust me, they will not disappoint!!!!

Must book!

After getting engaged, my now husband and I quickly agreed on one thing, we wanted a band, not a DJ, at our wedding. We met at a concert and regularly go to bars/events with live music (over a DJ) so picking a good band was a big deal to us. As I began my search, I quickly came across Funk Evolution and couldn’t believe all the 5 star reviews they had. As I started to bring up their name to family and friends, a handful of people we knew had been to weddings Funk Evolution had played or seen them in downtown Saratoga and told us they were fantastic. We called up Rocco to inquire about having them play at our wedding. Rocco was professional, knowledgeable and kind, and answered all our questions. We booked Funk Evolution off reviews and our conversation with Rocco alone, we had yet to hear them play live ourselves. It was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding and cannot imagine having any other band!

Throughout the planning process, Rocco promptly responded to all of my questions and helped support us in the planning of the reception. Having played many weddings, he is very knowledgeable about the flow of the night. On our wedding night, Rocco helped with the flow of events and helped make sure everything ran as smoothly as possible. He even helped my Maid of Honor play a special recording from a friend who couldn’t be there during her speech. Most importantly, Rocco and the band gave the MOST AMAZING performance- there is a reason they have so many 5 star reviews! Guests were coming up to me left and right during the reception to comment on how talented the band was. With our wedding on the smaller side, only 100 people, my main concern was the dance floor looking empty. Funk Evolution made sure that was not the case! As soon as they started playing, guests were up out of their seats. People were on their feet all night and had an absolute blast! Family and friends continue to comment on the music from that night when we see them. If you are looking for a band for your wedding, look no further, Funk Evolution is a must book!!!

Best band!!

We are so happy we hired Rocco and Funk Evolution! Rocco went above and beyond to make our day special and individualized. Music was the single most important vendor decision to my husband and I. We wanted our day to feel unique to us and for guests to feel like they were at our home. Rocco allowed us to put together playlists for cocktail hour and other parts of the day which we are so thankful for! My husband and I also had our hearts set on certain songs for the ceremony and Rocco helped us by creating edits to these songs so they would work perfectly! We had several guests tell us they were blown away by Funk Evolution and how it was the best band they've ever seen! They totally set the tone for a fun reception and the dance floor was packed all night. We only wish we could've had them play for longer! My husband and I look forward to seeing them play again!

Funk Evolution is awesome

My wife and i were married Oct 2022. Funk Evolution is the band to hire for your wedding or event. They are total pros from start to finish; always responsive to questions leading up to our wedding; and night of the event their collective energy was infectious, and the music kept everyone on the dance floor. Worth every penny!

Hiring Funk Evolution was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! Rocco had a lot of great suggestions to help our reception run smoothly and he was an amazing emcee. The band learned a song for our first dance, it was so special. The sax battle was an incredible surprise! We want to re-live our Funk Evolution Dance Party

My name is Shauna and my husband is Peter. We were married in June of 2022 in Saratoga, NY. I'm originally from Syracuse and my Husband is from Boston so we decided a Saratoga wedding would be a great middle-ground for our families and friends to congregate upon to celebrate our big day. Trying to plan a 'destination' wedding is a daunting concept and we quickly found out how much planning a wedding post-pandemic added to the equation. Vendor after vendor were unavailable, doubling their usual price and cutting the services they offered to take advantage of the "busiest wedding season ever". We'd secured our venue and asked their opinions on the other vendors we needed. When it came to entertainment, we were adamant that we would only consider hiring an amazing Band. My Fiance (at the time) had spent his adult life hopping from one great jazz club to the next in Boston and has built a circle of friends who are high quality musicians. Hiring a DJ or a typical wedding band was not in the cards. We expressed this to our venue coordinator and she highly recommended just one band, the incredible Funk Evolution.

We reached out to Rocco 8 months before our wedding and he advised that Funk Evolution already had a commitment on our date. We were incredibly disappointed. It was at that point that we began considering other options and even took a couple of trips to Saratoga and the surrounding area to check out other options. Feeling rather deflated with the other options available, we stopped out to see Funk Evolution perform at The MVP Arena. The energy, personality and their entire approach to their crowd was so refreshing; we felt like we were part of something incredible instead of simply watching a bunch of musicians on a stage performing 'at us'. The entire experience was eye opening and we decided that we needed to figure out how to have Funk Evolution at our wedding. The following Monday, we reached back out to our venue and to Rocco. Together, we coordinated a change of date for our wedding (knowing this meant having new save the dates sent, changing our hotel block and basically starting over from scratch). This was the single best decision we made.

Rocco worked so closely with us for months. He helped us find an amazing wedding planner, florist and even found us a string ensemble for our ceremony and jazz ensemble for cocktail hour. Two weeks before our date, we had a final planning meeting with Rocco and he asked about our after-party plan, we didn't have one. Rocco contacted a colleague at a bar downtime and coordinated an afterparty for all of our friends and family, negotiated a drink special and free entry.

Our wedding day was tremendous. Every aspect of our day was picture perfect from the weather to our decor, the flowers, the candles, the food, all of it. By far, the greatest memories we have are of the Funk Evolution dance party however. The band played non-stop for over 2 hours, DJ'd for 15-20 minutes and played again for another hour-plus. By halfway thru the first 2 hours, the entire place was filled to the brim with energy. Everybody was on the dancefloor (including the band members) and laughter filled the air. Our friends and family were hooting and hollering, singing at the top of their lungs (most had no voices the next morning when we saw them in the hotel) and the band played 3 encore songs going 10 minutes over the end of our wedding. The lights were on in the Hall and everyone was screaming for more. It was crazy.

Rocco went so far above and beyond what we'd ever imagined. His attention to detail, 'yes' attitude and passion for ensuring our day was absolutely perfect was completely unmatched. We are so grateful that our venue recommended Funk Evolution and that we took the extra steps to be sure they could be our band. We only regret that we cannot do it all again. Two of our friends have hired Funk Evolution for their weddings, we cannot wait to dance the night away once (twice) again.

Truly amazing

We could not recommend Funk Evolution highly enough!!! They made our wedding reception unbelievably memorable. Rocco was a consummate professional and clearly passionate about putting on an amazing show. He was friendly and so easy to work with. Very helpful with everything from creating our playlist, accommodating special requests, and helping with our ceremony music. He made the entire process fun and easy. The reception itself blew EVERYBODY away, it was essentially like being at a live concert. Every guest the next day RAVED that the music was amazing. The dance floor literally never died down, everybody was on their feet all night long. 10/10 all around, we could not recommend them highly enough.

Energetic!

WOW, just book them ASAP! We discovered Funk at a party on the first New Years we spent together, my now husband said "they will play at our wedding one day" and we are so glad we discovered them. They helped our dream evening come to life. They bring the energy and the dance floor was packed all night, exactly what we wanted. They were in the crowd, interacting with the crowd, and performed a saxophone battle, SO FUN! Many of our guests (even many from the tri-State area) said they were the best wedding band they had ever seen. Throughout the planning process Rocco was so cooperative and supportive and was helpful with ideas and opinions when asked. We can't wait to attend more of their shows in the future! 100% would recommend Funk Evolution

Five stars all the way around. Book them now if they are available. Rocco and the crew are amazing musicians, real performers and just awesome people. I had seen them in person more than once before so I knew they could play but was extremely impressed not only with their performance but with their communication, ability to accommodate and genuine nature, as well. From the first contact with Rocco to the day of, everything was smooth and easy. Our wedding was around 100 people and we were somewhat worried that the 8 piece band (who regularly plays for a lot more people than this) would be too much. Fear not, they are absolute pros who played to the room, kept the energy up and had people dancing all night. Regardless of if you are closer to our size wedding or 300+, I would not hesitate to recommend them. We have been to a lot of weddings and can genuinely say they are the best we have seen. Numerous guests from our wedding also thought so and gave many praises to the band and how amazing they were. Thank you once more to Rocco and the team, you guys rocked and helped make our wedding day that much more special.

The best of the best!

My husband and all of our friends have been huge fans of Funk for years now. They were out first decision when we got engaged. We knew that no matter what we did for our wedding- Funk had to be there! We originally booked them for our May 2020 wedding which obviously didn’t happen but through 2 postponements and changes in every guideline Rocco was amazing and flexible with rescheduling! We finally were able to have our wedding 7/10/2021 and it was truly perfect and Funk Evolution just took it to a whole new level! The energy they bring is unmatched! Unbelievable Service....

My Fiance and I have been huge Funk Evolution Fans for 8 years. When we became engaged in 2017 and began planning our wedding, Funk Evolution was the very first vendor we hired and we began building our wedding around their availability. As 2020 approached, Funk Evolution's Leader Rocco contacted us to begin fine tuning our plan for our wedding reception. He spent so much time answering our emails, text messages and FB Messages. Rocco helped us build an itinerary for our wedding reception, worked to create a custom mash-up of our first dance and even drove to Syracuse to meet with us in person.

Unfortunately, we were blind-sided when Covid-19 arose in February, just 3 months before our wedding day. We were devastated as our Bachelor(ette) parties were cancelled. Soon after, we received word from our wedding venue that they would be unable to host our Wedding as planned due to the virus.

Rocco worked with us continuously answering our calls and emails thru the scary process of rebuilding our wedding from scratch. Unfortunately, the only date our venue had available to reschedule to was unavailable on a couple of our vendor's calendar's, including Funk Evolution's. We were very disappointed to learn that Funk Evolution couldn't be part of our day especially as they were the first wedding vendor we chose.

This review is intended to highlight Rocco's response to our cancelled wedding. A couple of our vendors charged us the 25-50% cancel fees in our contract even though this situation was completely out of our control (we are out over $5,000). Funk Evolution not only waived ANY cancel fee's but Rocco also helped us to secure our new band and negotiated with them to honor Funk Evolution's reduced rate. We are so grateful that Rocco and Funk Evolution were so accommodating and that they went so far and above what was even necessary to ensure that our bad situation ended with losing our favorite band. Rocco's attentive, kind and understanding response to our dilemma took the edge off from the fact that we have to push our wedding out a year and we will never forget the level of service we received from Funk Evolution. Best yet, we shared our experience with several friends and THREE have hired Funk Evolution for their upcoming weddings so we can still party with Funk Evolution at their weddings. #Grateful

Incredible performance

Funk Evolution did our wedding ceremony and our reception music which was perfect. They were able to get specific songs that I wanted for the ceremony as well as were able to play a song I mixed for my daddy daughter dance. Their live performance was definitely the highlight though! Rocco and Funk Evolution are the best choice you can make to elevate your wedding or any event that you are planning. Not only do they play great music that all people like and can easily dance to but they make every experience personal and that is what really separates them in my opinion. Funk Evolution played my wedding last June but also played at my sisters wedding six years ago and still has a personal connection and knows my family by name when we see him out at public events which they play all over. I wouldn't hesitate to book them as they are very popular and are well known for the being the top dogs in the business.

Great Band for an Amazing Night!

We are almost two months out and our friends and family are still raving about Funk Evolution! We fell in love with them when we stumbled upon them in Saratoga, NY and we are so happy they were able to travel to Rochester, NY to create one wild party for our wedding! Each of the band members are so professional and talented, they even allowed my husband to turn into a total fan girl/official tambourine player as he took to the stage and sang "My Own Worse Enemy" by Lit. Finishing with a fun DJ set, we had the whole room dancing until the last song played. We would recommend to anyone!

I can’t give funk evolution a better review! They were easy to work with, not to mention so helpful in all the planning and always offered to go above an beyond! They really got the party going at our wedding, superior emcee and super talented band! We’ve gotten countless compliments from our guests, saying our wedding was so fun and “that band was phenomenal!” Every wedding I’ve attended since our wedding makes me more and more happy/confident that we picked the best out of the many to choose from. Simply the best

It was a no-brainer that we wanted to have Funk Evolution at our wedding. From the minute we corresponded with Rocco, it was even more clear that this was a must. we got to work on was the wedding band. We knew we wanted live music and
were pretty stressed about the decision making process. We also had less
than a year until our event date, and in our initial outreach were finding
a lot of options to be booked. I stumbled upon FE on Wedding Wire, and
reached out with my fingers crossed. Rocco got back to me and they were
available... and we gave a deposit without having heard them live... it
felt risky.. but the payoff was amazing!

Rocco was by far one of my favorite wedding vendors to work with. He is SO
nice, SO fast to respond, SO helpful and easy to work with.. he is
everything! He offered me a great deal on lighting, so FE took care of that
too, and lit our reception space up beautifully.. and once the party
started, the lights were awesome.. it was like a fancy rave!

The dance floor was packed the entire night. All the musicians in the band
are amazingly talented. At one point they did a horn battle in the middle
of the dance floor and we were all mesmerized! They even let me sing on the
mic.. sorry to all my guests.. but I loved it. Rocco was also great as the
emcee.. he had a very energetic way about him.

My dinner ended up running pretty long but Rocco worked with me and the
venue to move things along and stay on track. He definitely knows how to
run an event.

I am trying to think of another reason to have a party so I can hire FE
again. Use them, seriously, you won't regret it!

Funk Evolution does not disappoint!

I can’t say enough good things about Funk Evolution! When we started our search for a wedding band, my fiancé and I found it to be very stressful because the wedding entertainment really makes or breaks a wedding. When I spoke with Rocco from Funk Evolution, I knew our search had ended and we found the right band for us! For starters, Rocco showcases true professionalism and responsiveness which is very helpful when planning the logistics of a wedding. We worked closely together on the overall set list in addition to the first dance, father/daughter and mother/son song. Rocco wanted to ensure the music was tailored exactly to what we envisioned. On our wedding night, the band did not disappoint! FE provided beautiful uplighting which illuminated the room to set the stage for a great party. Rocco was an excellent MC and really upped the energy during the wedding party entrances. Once the band started playing, the wedding guests didn’t stop dancing all night. They played their epic sax battle in the middle of the dance floor which really got the guests involved. For the last few songs, they even let my husband and me get on stage and sing to the crowd. Our voices weren’t quite as good as Sabrina’s but it was certainly a highlight of our night. FE has incredible vocals, unmatched instrumentals and are overall great people. Such a pleasure to have them as our wedding entertainment and would highly recommend to all future bride and grooms in the Upstate New York area!

Cancel the afterparty and let the band play!

Simply stated, Funk Evolution was the single best decision we made for our entire wedding. Not only is Rocco very attentive but the band, itself, worked so hard to entertain every last one of our friends and family. Young and old, everyone was crazy about Funk Evolution's song choices, their energy, their fun energy and even their dance moves. We ended up pushing our afterparty back 60 minutes and asking the band to perform another hour because the dancefloor was packed every moment they played, from the moment they started playing (before introductions) until the last song of the night. Thank you all for making this the night we could only dream of!

Funk Evolution took my wedding to the next level. As big fans of live music, we wanted to focus on the entertainment for the evening and really find something that would not only keep us up and dancing but that would appeal to the masses as well. Rocco, Sabrina and the whole band really just know how to put on a show and keep the energy high. This group is SO TALENTED. I had so much fun dancing and jamming out to all of the funk/soul/rock classics up to modern day hits and the variety was so appreciated by everyone. Funk Evolution performed at our wedding at Timber Lake Camp in Shandaken, NY over Labor Day Weekend 2018. My husband and I were looking for a band with horns, spunk, and one that would keep our guests dancing all night long and Funk Evolution was all of that and much, much more! Rocco went above and beyond to get to know my husband and I, including our story, he took the time to get to know what songs we wanted to be played, and he personalized some songs that he knew were important to us. Throughout the night, Rocco checked in with us to make sure we were happy with how everything was going and it was very clear that he genuinely cared about keeping us happy throughout the evening.

Funk Evolution played an enormous role in making our wedding night one of the best and most fun nights of our lives! The music from both the band and the DJ had our guests up on their feet and dancing for the entire night (exactly as we imagined) and they were just SO MUCH FUN! My friends are still telling me how amazing the music was, and we couldn't agree more- it was days before my and my husband's feet and legs stopped aching because we danced so much! I'm actually not sure if I ever danced that much in my life!

Two weeks post-wedding, our guests are still raving about the music I literally cannot stop thinking about the night. I can't wait to re-listen to Funk Evolution's music when we get back our wedding videos.

We hired Funk Evolution to come to our home in the Catskills and play for our wedding reception. Prior to the event, Rocco was fantastic helping me to craft the performance schedule and select the music, and he was very responsive whenever I had a question. At the event, they were AMAZING. The sound and lighting were TOP NOTCH, and the music fun and danceable. Everyone told me that was the best band they've ever had play in the area. Rocco was a great emcee as well, and everyone just had the most fun. It was everything I was hoping for and more!

My Husband and I got married on October 7th after only a 4 month engagement. We checked out many bands in Albany and decided Funk Evolution was the perfect fit for our wedding band. Unlike other bands, Funk Evolution was relevant to the younger guests on our list while other bands were full of far older band members trying to play current music. The owner of Funk Evolution is such a pleasure to work with. Rocco not only ensured our music was unbelievable but he also helped us in the 4 short months leading up to our wedding to hire a great photographer & videograper. He also spent hours on the phone with us helping us to plan our reception timeline and he worked as the emcee at the reception keeping the energy high and keeping our itinerary on track all night. The band was even better at our wedding than what we had experienced at their other events. Everyone at the wedding was amazed at their energy, how great their music was and how they were equally as amazing playing Soul, 80s music, 90s - today's big hits. The whole band went above and beyond and they were the best part of our wedding. Best decision we made.

It's now been a couple of years since our wedding day and we were invited to share our experience by writing a review of Funk Evolution. It brings my Wife and I great pleasure to do so!

Funk Evolution was the 1st vendor we booked for our wedding. We'd seen them at several different events in the Saratoga NY area in the years leading up to our engagement and booked them within two weeks of our proposal. Live, high energy, polished and exciting entertainment was our primary priority when it came to our wedding day and we could not envision our day without the band. We had our dream wedding date in mind (my late mother's birthday) but, unfortunately, we could not book a venue we liked for the date. Long story short, we changed our wedding date 3 times and Funk Evolution was 100% accommodating to this continuous change (even diverting a prior scheduled event to accommodate our final wedding date).

Our wedding day came and it was picture perfect in every way; except it ran an hour behind as our minister was caught in Saratoga traffic! Funk Evolution sprung into action. They played an hour set before our wedding began, we headed outdoors and said our nuptials, and the day continued perfectly. We extended the party an additional hour and instead of the 20% overtime notated in the agreement, Rocco charged us only $250 or an extra hour of performance. It was the very best hour of our entire wedding and it was an unforgettable nightcap that made our day perfect.

We cannot share accolades high enough for how far above and beyond Funk Evolution went to ensure our day was stress free and absolutely perfect. Two of our friends have since had them at their weddings and we loved every minute. More than anything, the friendship we've developed with the band over the years has been a lasting takeaway we could've never imagined when first hiring them.

Funk Evolution absolutely rocked it at our wedding at the Old Daley on Crooked Lake. We first had the pleasure of attending a Funk concert during my dad’s 50th birthday. We stopped at Wolff’s Biergarten and heard someone jamming at Stout. We stopped in and ending up dancing the night away until they finished up their set. We had a BLAST! Naturally, my mom asked if they played weddings. Fast-forward five years, and Funk brought the house down at our wedding. You could not get guests to leave the dance floor. They hired a piano player to play Beatles songs for our ceremony - he played beautifully! Rocco did a fantastic job MCing and even helped me coordinate the perfect short and sweet surprise for my mom. Thank you all for celebrating with us!

Funk Evolution was the centerpiece of our perfect wedding day. When we first messaged the band we didn't have any idea of just how much wedding band's cost and had a hard case of sticker shock when Rocco replied. We loved the music on their website so we drove from Philly to Albany to experience the band in person and we knew they had to be at our wedding. My parents had also been doing a lot of research in bands and found that Funk Evolution was actually very reasonable budget wise, there were several bands that were far more expensive. To keep our budget under control we decided to do as much of the planning as possible ourselves and Rocco was very helpful with any questions we weren't sure of how to answer for our other wedding vendors while making recommendations as to where we could trim the fat on our budget. By the time our wedding day arrived we had enjoyed 5 different dinner meetings with Rocco and had become great friends. Needless to say, our wedding day came and went, it was the most magical day of our lives and the cornerstone of it all was our unbelievable wedding band, Funk Evolution. The band played a few dance songs after our introductions which created a buzz in the room through dinner hour. Then, after dinner, they played thru the end of the night with a single very short break where we did our cake cutting. I cannot imagine a better experience, a friendlier band owner to work with or a more helpful friend than we found in Rocco and Funk Evolution. They are the best. They've now been hired for 2 of our Bridesmaids weddings and 1 other party from our wedding that we know of, we know we will not miss those parties. Thank you so much for all of your support, your great entertainment and our new found friendship, we are forever grateful.

I cannot imagine a better wedding vendor. From the first time we saw Funk Evolution at Freedom Park in Scotia we knew that we had to have them at our wedding when we got married (one day), and we weren't even engaged yet. Funk Evolution is so amazing in every way. Everyone in the band is approachable and very happy to talk with us every time we go to show. Their energy and professionalism at our wedding was somehow far higher than we'd even come to know at their public shows (we've been groupies for 2 years now). They played their legendary saxaphone battle in the middle of the dancefloor toward the end of the night and ever single guest was in awe, it's crazy to think these are local musicians. Not one but three of my wedding guests have already hired Funk Evolution for their upcoming weddings based on what they saw at our wedding. Looking back at our wedding day, our most memorible moments all involved the band. From the moment we walked in (with the emcee's very high energy introductions) to the first dance, and the music after dinner (the band played nearly three hours after dinner) they were perfect and worth every penny. To put it best, I'm a morning person and my new husband and I slept in until 2pm the day after our wedding because we were on that danced all night long. It was perfect. Thank you Funk Evolution.

Rocco and the rest of Funk Evolution were INCREDIBLE at our Winter Ball fundraiser to celebrate the kickoff to the SPAC’s 50th anniversary season!! The energy was electric and they certainly ROCKED the Hall of Springs! The dance floor was PACKED all night long!! They know exactly how to work the crowd. The members are very talented musicians, professional and a fun time! The band was very responsive and easy to work with leading up to our event. We are BEYOND EXCITED to have them back at Winter Ball 2017!

Funk Evolution is a drop dead entertainment find! Their musicianship is world class, with vocals, stage presence and audience interaction to match, and they are the kind of people you would choose for friends. They generate fun! Their music is always keyed to positive audience reactions. They "wow" people! I have brought them in for four consecutive summer lake side parties which the residents of the lake where I lived paid for with excitement and anticipation. Funk Evolution is in a league of their own. My husband and I live in NYC and are a part of the Broadway and Television industry. We grew up in upstate New York and ended up having our wedding in The Adirondacks. When I tell you that this band "nailed it," I really mean it. What a gift to find a band in upstate that is better than anyone we have seen in NYC. Our friends are still talking about the funk band, the sexy squealing saxophones, and "The Tameka" who sings her face off in every song. The entire wedding was sweaty and nasty at the end of their sets-just because they take you to church! You can't help but move.... You should feel lucky and blessed if you can have this band at your wedding. Thanks Funk Evolution! We all love you.

Funk Evolution is composed of some of the most talented and entertaining musicians I've seen and heard in our area. Their music is spectacular and sure to get people dancing, and the fact that they even DJ their breaks is so helpful! Worth every penny to make your event a success. We used them last year for our giant holiday party, and we'll be using them again for this year!

I can't really put into words how amazing Funk Evolution is. My husband and I have been watching them play at Dango's in Saratoga every Summer we come to visit for the past 8 years. We always talked about when we would get married they would be our band. The dream became a reality, and funk evolution was our official wedding entertainment. It hasn't rained on September 12th according to the Farmers Alamanac Calander in the past 15 yrs, so naturally it would monsoon during our outdoor ceremony and wedding. It didn't even phase us, not only because all of or friends and family from FL were at the most special day of our lives, but also because Rocoo, Tameka, and the beyond amazing funk evolution did not miss a beat. They made our receptio! Hands down! If it wasn't for them, our day wouldn't be the same and we will be forever grateful! Do yourself a favor, and book them NOW! We love you guys!!!!

When we were looking for a band for our wedding we asked our other vendors if they could have any band for their wedding who would it be and the same name continued to come up- "Funk Evolution"! They delivered just an amazing act for our wedding night. They are an incredibly talented group of individuals with both vocals and instruments and they really brought the barn down! There was not one song that they played where people weren't dancing and having just an amazing time. Even for the people that come and don't necessarily want to dance the band provides a great show so it's really just an all around amazing time for everyone! I am just beyond happy that we chose them to do our music they really helped to give our wedding that extra special unique touch! I would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone that asked!

We knew we wanted a band for our wedding and needed to find an amazing one; which we did! We had seen Funk Evolution play up in Saratoga several times and decided that we HAD to work with them for our wedding day. Rocco is amazing to work with. He was extremely helpful, very detail oriented and caring - he stressed that this day was about US and whatever we wanted. He definitely helped with suggestions, but left most of the planning up to us. He was very responsive, whether it be email/phone and we even met in person which was a huge relief after reviewing the timeline of our event in detail. His team handled the music during our ceremony and cocktail hour which worked out nicely. The band then went on to play at the Reception and I think everyone at our wedding was up on the dance floor! The Funk Evolution team is very talented and have great energy. They know how to get the party started! So many people came up to us after our wedding to compliment how great and amazing the band was. I would absolutely, ABSOLUTELY recommend Funk Evolution to anyone looking to hire a wedding band. I honestly cannot say enough good things about the band and about Rocco. Leading up to the wedding, Rocco was amazing to work with. He was super responsive, organized, and extremely helpful. On the day of, Rocco handled the ceremony music for us, and the jazz quartet played during the cocktail hour – which our guests loved. During the reception, literally every single one of our guests was out of their seats dancing. The energy was just incredible, the music was outstanding, and we had such an amazing time. On top of everything else, the band allowed my father to hop on the drums for a few songs, which was truly unforgettable. If you are looking to hire a band or even just considering it, I would recommend going to one of their shows and seeing how good they are for yourself – you really will not regret it.
