John had been recommended by one of my friends that got married 10 years ago. My daughter Caroline and her husband Zachary were going to compile a Spotify playlist and had a person picked out that was going to act as the DJ for their wedding. After my friend recommended John, I got in touch with him and I am so glad that we ended up hiring him! He has a questionnaire for the couple with songs that they wanted him to play and also a "do not play" list. John was so helpful from the pre-wedding zoom meetings until the end of the wedding last Sunday, 11/12/23. John is not just a DJ that plays music. He is a fabulous entertainer! He told Caroline and Zachary's "love story" (how they met and their first date) and nothing seemed to phase him. If there was a miscommunication or somebody was not ready for the next segment of the wedding, John masterfully played some funny tunes to entertain us. The biggest compliment we received from one of the friends of the groom was: "I wanted to sit down and take a break but the DJ plays one hit song after another and I just gotta dance!" -

A true professional
Having worked in the wedding industry it was difficult to not suggest vendors when my daughter got engaged. HOWEVER, there was one vendor that was a no-brainer. John Haskins with Friendly Neighborhood DJ was the only call we would make for DJ/Emcee. He is a true professional while still providing a fun and lively service. By the way, most of both sides of the family.... not dancers. If he can get THAT CROWD on their feet, then he's worth every penny. He's the best! -

John was very friendly and professional during the entire wedding planning experience. He created a wonderful environment for our wedding guests as well as kept everything on track for the timelines. We were not worried about a thing on the day of the wedding because John had planned everything so perfectly -- his questions were very thorough which made us feel like he was very prepared for the day of the wedding. -

John is the absolute BEST!!! He is detail-oriented, energetic, great at his job, and just an overall awesome person. He truly is a Master of Ceremonies! I can't tell you how many people came up to me throughout the night saying how amazing and engaging John was-- people are still asking me where we found him! The whole night was specifically tailored to us as a couple, whether it was the hilarious bridal party entrances, the Love Story he told before our first dance to share with the crowd our journey that led us to our wedding day, the tear jerking mother-son dance where he interviewed my husband about his mom and played that throughout their song, or the "moment alone" he created for us at the end of the night. The list goes on. If you are looking for a DJ/MC that will make your wedding a day you or your guests will never forget, The Friendly Neighborhood DJ is it!! -

John was amazing! He was very professional throughout the whole planning process. John goes above and beyond for his couples. Every guest said that John made their whole night! He puts a lot of time and preparation into his events and make the whole night so much fun! -

John was the DJ at our daughter's wedding last week. He worked closely with Josh and Ally music selections and added his own flavor to the night. The result was - A Kick-ass Celebration and Dance Party!! John is A-mazing.

John was recommended to us by our coordinator, Martye Clendenin, and we are so glad we listened to her suggestion. John was a pleasure to work with. He reminded both us and our families that our only job on our wedding day was to relax and have fun, and he would take care of the rest. And boy did he deliver! We are still getting texts a week later that he played the best music at our wedding. He even let Josh take the mic for a couple of impromptu performances. We are so glad John was a part of our special day! -

John did an incredible job at our wedding! We had a fairly atypical crowd (lots of disabled folks) and John was able to customize our night so that everyone was able to participate, even if they weren’t actually able to dance! He also was totally fine changing up our first dance song literally 45 seconds before it happened (I was much more tired than I anticipated being by then, and needed a slower song) and the whole evening went off without a hitch. He also did a great job incorporating toasts throughout the night. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! -

Our wedding was a dream. John made everything run so smoothly, timely, etc. the reception was a blast. Everyone talked about how awesome John was. He carries himself so well- and truly cares about his clients. We felt taken care of and heard. And appreciated the flexibility. Would recommend to anyone I know!! -

John is absolutely amazing! Not only did I love him but my guest did too. The way he did our introductions was memorable and mine and my husband love story he told everyone was priceless. If you want a good wedding invest in a good DJ—-worth every dime! -
