Hot Day - Great Photo's
Amanda with Freeland Photography was amazing and so easy and fun to work with. She helped us pick the two spots we took pictures at and made the day entertaining, even in 95 degree heat. She listened to us as we asked for certain shots and suggested several others that we hadn't thought of. It only took a few weeks to get the photo's back and they turned out better than we could have imagined. She took several posed shots with the wedding party and family members we had with us along with several candid shots. They all came out amazing. We highly recommend anyone looking for wedding pictures to consider Freeland Photography and once again, thank you so much Amanda. -

Highly recommend Freeland Photography. My wedding photos are beautiful! They captured so many moments that were very touching. They never stopped running the day of our wedding to be in every place! Like a good photographer, I barely even noticed they were there. They are also very knowledgeable and answered all our questions ahead of time. On the wedding day any time something was needed, Mike or his assistant stepped up to help. Thank you! -

Freeland Photography was amazing! We had the package with 2 photographers and it worked perfectly that way. One photographer, Amy, was with me and my bridesmaid while Mike headed over to take photos of the groomsmen. They captured all the photo inspiration we asked for, and they were quick at getting the pictures taken so our guests weren't waiting too long. Highly recommend them! -

You will not find anyone better than Freeland Photography!! From the moment I walked into their studio, I knew they wouldn't disappoint. They care about each and every one of their clients and take into consideration everything you are looking for in your wedding photos!!! I could not be more happy with our wedding photos!! They are PICTURE PERFECT!! Mike, Amanda, Jill and the whole Freeland Crew are wonderful. I could go on forever about how accommodating, thoughtful and caring they were toward my husband and I. They go above and beyond expectations, and I would recommend them over and over again!! -

I cannot recommend Freeland Photography highly enough. Mike and his staff were committed to getting beautiful, natural shots and went above and beyond to accommodate our large wedding party and family. Our wedding was in November, and they drove all over Kansas City with us to capture the fall colors and golden hour. In every location, they were ready to maximize all aspects of their environment to create truly unique photos. For example, Mike seamlessly transitioned from capturing the evening light and golden foliage on the lawn of the Nelson Atkins museum to festive Christmas photos in the decorated parlor of the Brass on Baltimore. The results were stunning. They were more than just photos: each image is a work of art unto itself.

Your wedding photographers are a huge part of your big day and I'm so glad we chose Freeland Photography. Jill was fantastic and did a great job of explaining everything during our initial consultation. Amanda and Jeremy photographed our wedding and we couldn't have asked for better photographers. They kept us smiling and laughing the entire time! Our pictures turned out better than I could have imagined. Your photographer is with you ALL day. It is very important that they are easy going, and fun to be around.
Amanda and Jeremy from Freeland photography were just that! As a Day of Coordinator I see good and bad. They had the bride and groom smiling NATURAL smiles. And went with the flow to make the day run as smooth as possible when things had to be changed. Bravo! I hope to work with you all again very soon! -

Wedding planning is quite a task and we knew that photography would be one of the most important decisions to make. When we first met Michael Freeland we immediately felt a personal connection and at ease with him and could tell that he had a passion for capturing the best images and memories for our special day. Choosing Freeland Photography was the easiest and best decision we made. Michael and his assistant photographer, Angela, were so wonderful to work with. They both gave us direction, laughed with us and knew how to ease our anxieties and they were very patient with us and our family. You can really tell that Michael and Angela love what they do and it shows through the images they’ve captured. We could not be more thrilled with our choice to work with Freeland Photography. They truly made our wedding day even more special and we will enjoy the images for the rest of our lives. -

We just received our full collection of wedding photos and we couldn't be happier. There are SO many beautiful images that I am having trouble sorting through all of them. They are just too good! They paid attention to every detail and captured the colors, feel and fun of the day. We loved our engagement photos as well. Highly recommend this KC area photographer! -

There are not enough thank you's in the world to thank Mike Freeland and his team for capturing our day! I can not wait to see all the amazing pictures from getting ready to our sparkler exit. His professionalism and easy to work with attitude made the day and pictures so smooth. Freeland Photography was the first vendor we booked in a great list of amazing vendor. I never doubted that his work would be the perfect match for us. Located in Lee's Summit, where we were getting married, made it easy for some awesome backgrounds and some secret spots that he knew. Again, we can not WAIT to see the pictures and work with him and his staff again for family pictures!

We are SOO thankful that Freeland Photography took our wedding photos. I really cannot even begin to explain how grateful I am for choosing Freeland Photography to capture such special moments in my life. I booked them a little over a year before my wedding and April stayed in constant contact with me the entire time. I created a board on Pinterest of any specific photos I wanted and she made sure to look at it and give them a try. I found out shortly before the wedding that Jared would be helping her capture our wedding day. We didn't get to know him for too long of a time, but during and after the wedding April and Jared both felt like family. Jared even had to help chase around/occupy my niece during photos. I heard from everyone who attended the wedding about how amazing these two were the entire day/night and my husband and I still talk about how sad we are the day is over because we will sincerely miss them. They even jumped in the photo booth and grabbed a picture with my husband and I which we will cherish forever.
Freeland was without a doubt the best choice for my wedding photography. They kept contact with quick responses and were very professional throughout the whole process. Thanks to them, I had one less thing stressing me on my wedding day. I will definitely turn to them when I need professional pictures taken in the future.

I haven’t received my final product yet, but the sneak peak looks fabulous! Freeland Photography came highly recommended to me from our venue the Aspen Room. We worked with April and Jared for our wedding. April and I met a month before the big day and discussed some ideas, and emailed back and forth afterwords with more ideas as well. I liked that she asked me to send over my wedding pinterest boards too. On the day of, April fit right in with our group, joking and laughing with us. Jared also rolled with the “punches” and even helped put on the boutonnieres. That might seem like an odd thing to comment on, fitting in with our group, but it was really important to me that the photographers and our group’s personalities meshed; I wanted to feel like I was hanging out with friends and not like I was at the DMV getting my picture taken or something. At one point I got pretty overwhelmed and April helped calm me down which was SO appreciated. She also helped me carry my train and my flowers around when we were taking pictures. Throughout the reception it seemed like anytime a group got together April or Jared came out of nowhere to snap a picture which was perfect! I feel like they worked extremely well together and I can’t wait to see all of our pictures. The next time I need pictures taken I will be calling Freeland, even though I live in STL it will be worth the drive to work with such a talent group of nice people! -

Love, love, love Freeland Photography! My fiance and I don't traditionally take great photos together. Freeland Photography nailed our engagement photos - the composition, the angles, the setting - everything. We absolutely love how they turned out. Mike Freeland and everyone at Freeland's was simply great to work with. They really made me feel like I could relax and focus on having fun and being the bride. Mike got every shot that we asked for the day of the wedding, and came up with some great ideas and locations to take pictures. We had really wanted to go inside union station for photos, but couldn't the day of the wedding because of another event. Most brides would probably freak, but Mike came up with some other great picture locations just outside in the area, and those turned out to be some of my favorite shots. i knew i didn't need to worry about the quality of the photos - they are superb. -

We had Amanda and Tracy take our wedding pictures last weekend at the Loretto. Planning with them was easy and they were so receptive to what we had in mind! They were also EXTREMELY flexible, seeing as how we had given them a schedule for the day, and that was thrown off because of a series of events that morning. When they arrived to take pictures, they saw that I was not even close to ready, so they just said not to worry and started taking pictures of the building, the groom, groomsmen, and girls getting ready. We ended up getting all of the pictures done that we wanted, and even though it was raining, the pictures turned out bright and beautiful! My whole family agreed that they were the best, and they have already provided us with a sneak peek of the pictures! -

Mike and his entire team are professional, reliable, and wonderful to work with. We were looking for a photographer that was easy and fun to work with, had portfolio images similar to the style we wanted to achieve, and provided quality service at an affordable price. We found that in Freeland photography. We are so unbelievably happy with the pictures from our wedding day--there was a perfect balance of candid, posed, and shots with a more artistic edge (our main goal). Mike and his team had a vision that matched ours, and having them be apart of our day was one of the best choices we made. I highly suggest this photography studio if you're looking for both traditional and unique twists, professionalism, quality work, and a laid back team to work with before, during, and after your big day. WONDERFUL! We had Amanda and Mike as our shooters and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect team. They were professional, organized, and did a great job of not only organizing everyone for the "traditional" church photos, but also capturing moments throughout the day. Well, I had a very long review written for Freeland but for some reason Wedding Wire decided to not post it, so let's try this again...
We knew planning a wedding in Kansas would be difficult when we live in Denver, but the one thing that we knew we had to get right was the photographer. If you have a bad caterer, no one will remember it within a year. If you have a bad photographer, you're reminded every time you walk into your living room. So we wanted to make sure that we had the best. And after all of our research, it was obvious that Freeland was the best. They were curteous, they were helpful, they did everything we could have asked for. There were two photographers there (and another on photo booth duty) and they caught everything. Honestly, the only downside with Freeland is that we're having a hard time coming up with only 75 photos for our book. Our initial run through of the photos left us with 468 "favorites" and we're currently down to 113. I have no idea how we'll cut another 38, but we do know that every photo is incredible.
Cannot recommend them enough. -

AMAZING!!! If you want professional photographers and stunning photographs, you need to check out Freeland Photography.
We'll be the first to admit they are not the cheapest, but we'd argue they are hands down the best. We wanted photographers who could capture the story of our wedding weekend.
We asked for photographers who specialized in photojournalism and we had the pleasure of working with Tiffany Buckley and April McCoy. We couldn't have been assigned two better people.
We were able to meet with these ladies before we signed our contract. They made us feel comfortable, made us laugh and their confidence put our minds at ease. We didn't realize how much time we'd spend with the photographers on our wedding day, even in the private moments when no one else is around, so finding someone you vibe with is very important.
These ladies captured stunning photos that told our story which we will now have forever. Their creativity, teamwork and portfolio is impressive.
If you have room in your budget, this is place and these are the people to splurge on. You will not be disappointed!!! -

We had the pleasure of working with April and Amanda for our wedding this past weekend. They were both fantastic to work with and made sure to get every shot that we asked for, including a group shot of 150+ people! We didn't have to worry about our guests sitting around waiting on photos to get finished, we even got done EARLY!!! Best experience ever. Mike & his group made my wedding day perfect. The overall experience from start to finish has been professional and met all my expectations. We used Freeland Photography for Engagement photos, Wedding day and photobooth. We were extremely pleased through the whole process as Mike and his team worked with us to build an ideal photo package. Our pictures are amazing and worth the investment. At the end of the day, you won't remember a thing.... And Freeland will capture everything you need to remember. They were able to do their jobs without being invasive and they followed through on suggestions of pictures from us. In fact, at the end of the reception, Mike had come to find me to let me know they were heading out... I suddenly realized I hadn't taken a picture with my MOH. Mike went back to his car, UNLOADED his equipment and came back to get a picture of us. If that's not proof of loyalty to their customers I don't know what is. AMAZING- Everyone at Freeland that I have worked with was so great. Everything was so professional and the photographers let us do our thing and captured those moments rather than staging all kinds of pictures. We really enjoyed working with Mike and his staff! They are very friendly and they provide great customer service! I have seen the raw images and they look amazing so I can only imagine what the final product will look like! We chose Freeland Photography because the high quality of the pictures and because his pictures are so timeless. I would definitively recommend him to any and every one I know! -

Freeland words cannot express how great they were. Every-time I turned around they were there taking pictures, capturing everything. If you asked them to take a certain picture, they gladly did it.

Great to work with and great results! posted 1/7/2012
We were lucky to work with the owner, Mike, along with one of his employees, Tiffany. During the process of choosing a photographer, Mike was great about working with us and finding a way to get what we wanted within our budget. He made a 100% personalized agreement for us based on what we did want (more hours) and what we didn't (touch-ups on every photo). He kept us with us in between signing the contract and the wedding date, and we were both really comfortable meeting with him. On the wedding day, he and Tiffany did a FABULOUS job! I really can't say enough good things. They were both organized and efficient, so we got all the shots we wanted, from posed ones with family to fun ones with the wedding party. Both my fiance and I have large families, and we had a large wedding party, and Mike and Tiffany were professional and helpful with everyone! Both Mike and Tiffany checked on me periodically to make sure I wasn't having a meltdown. The pictures were SO important to me, but they made sure I had fun and enjoyed my day! For about $2000, we received: two photographers for six hours and one photographer for an additional two hours; touch-ups on our 50 favorites photos; four paperback photo books with those 50 favorites photos; and discs with all the photos that were taken. You can't get better quality for the price. Five stars, well-deserved. -

Mike was awesome! We were beyond satisfied with our service. Our wedding was only 3 weeks ago so we are still waiting for the pictures, which is to be expected, but Mike and Tiffany were beyond wonderful! They seemed to be everywhere without being too overbearing. They were an absolute pleasure to work with, and we had numerous compliments that night and people said they would definitely be calling Mike in the future! -

They were the best photography packages I have seen. When we shared our budget with them, they were happy to work with us. The day of the wedding Mike was there an hour early to set up and make sure we were doing fine. He made sure that we had plenty of time to take the pictures that we wanted without felling rushed to finish them before the guest arrived. He was always snapping shots of decorations and candids. He was a GREAT photographer-totally worth the money! -

Mike Freeland was outstanding during every interaction we had. He is not only a phenomenal photographer, but a phenomenal human being (please read to the end of this review!). When I first met Mike, I was at a Wedding Expo and very recently engaged so I was just there to focus on venues. Mike took the time to get to know me, my vision, and my budget to offer genuine advice and suggestions. Not once was he pushy about his own business, he just wanted to be helpful. Naturally, he made an impression and as soon as my husband and I were ready to talk about photographers, I wanted to work with Mike! Even though we had a frugal budget, I knew quality photos were high on my wish list and Freeland Photo offers a great middle of the road price for high quality products. When we met with Amanda and found out Mike was available for our wedding date, I was beyond thrilled! Mike is very experienced and made us feel so at ease about how the day would go. He is friendly and relaxed, but also easily directs a room to make sure not a minute is wasted during your photos. Everyone at the wedding talked about how great the photographer was. He was everywhere and yet never a distraction or in the way. It was the BEST day of our lives and he captured that effortlessly! A week following the wedding, we had some bittersweet news- my husband’s grandmother, who was in poor health and whose goal was to make it to our wedding, had passed away. I reached out to Mike to see if we could get a few of the wedding photos with her in time for the funeral the following week. Mike didn’t miss a beat and within HOURS had sent access to at least 20 beautifully edited photos along with kind condolences about how he was honored to have been able to capture those moments for us. He is the perfect example of how actions speak louder than words. We know without a doubt we will be lifelong customers for all of our exciting milestones to come! Thank you Freeland Crew!! -

Freeland Photography has the most unique and beautiful photos. I would not have gone with another photographer after looking at his work. Very kind and down to earth photographers, who know what to look for in a perfect shot. I have had to wait a long time in order to see all of my actual wedding photos, but hopefully it will be worth the wait. -
