Wedding 8/17/24

We had our wedding at fox hill event center and we couldn’t have imagined a better day! We felt like it was our own little island tucked in the corner of Cadillac. Beautiful venue with great staff! We unfortunately had rain on and off all day but the staff ensured us that wouldn’t ruin our day! Because of them we were still able to have our ceremony outside due to the quick wiping down of chairs to make sure they were ready for our quests. The whole evening was magical and I highly recommend Fox hill for any event you have!!

Highly recommend Fox Hill Event Center!

Fox Hill Event Center was the perfect venue for our spring wedding up north. It's a beautiful, high quality space. Julie, the owner, was a pleasure to work with. She answered all of our questions in a timely fashion and was very helpful and considerate throughout the entire process. Highly recommended!

Fox Hill Event Center went above and beyond!

Fox Hill Event Center went above and beyond to make our Wedding Day perfect. From the time we toured the venue to the actual wedding day, all the staff was so lovely and helpful. They offered different packages for every budget and kindly answered all of my questions throughout the wedding planning process. The Bridal cottage made the morning of the wedding so carefree as there was enough space for the hair and makeup artists to do their thing while all of the other bridesmaids were able to relax in a comfortable, clean atmosphere. I loved that it was onsite too!
Tons of my guests commented on how good the food was as well. The atmosphere inside the venue and outside is gorgeous too which made for beautiful pictures and a surreal day. Thank you Julie and Cindy for making our day a dream come true. If I could give 10 stars, I would!

I’d recommend Fox Hill Event Center to anyone!

We chose Fox Hill Event Center because of the venues beautiful atmosphere, affordable prices and prime Location. This venue doesn't just offer the things I just mentioned but amazing people who walk along side you during the entirety of your wedding planning process. Julie at Fox Hill was professional, kind and she took lots of weight off my shoulders. She kindly answered all of my many questions, let us tour the venue multiple different times and provided us with check lists so we didn’t overlook anything. Cindy, the ceremony coordinator went above and beyond on the day of our wedding to make everything run smoothly. She took care of things before I even got a chance to think about them. Also, the Bridal Cottage made the Morning of my wedding unforgettable and care free. There was enough room for myself, my bridesmaids, makeup artist and Hair Stylist. The cottage was very clean and it was so nice being at the venue so we didn’t have to worry about transportation. Fox Hill helped me make my Wedding a dream come true and I would recommend this Venue to anyone!

April 2024 wedding

If you are looking for the highest quality wedding venue when it comes to how it looks, the food, even the service of those that you are in contact with, then you have found the place. Julie, the owner was super quick and responsive when it came to any questions that I had before and after booking the venue. The amount of detail that goes into the venue its self is amazing. We barley had to spend any money on decorations because it was already cute to begin with. The food served was amazing. The chef was willing to answer questions for us when it came to food sensitivities of guest that we had coming. The fact that the venue also took care of the catering made it seamless. And when it came to the end of the night, we just had to take what we brought and they handled the rest. Truly one of the best venues I've seen all around!

The perfect day!

After meeting with Julie and getting a tour of Fox Hill, we instantly knew it was the perfect location for our fall wedding. Throughout the process, Fox Hill was always prompt with responding to our inquires, gave excellent recommendations for vendors, and did an amazing job setting up the ceremony and reception spaces. We couldn’t have been more happy with our special day!

Amazing from start to finish!

Fox hill event center was an absolute joy to work with. Julie goes above and beyond and leaves no detail behind! She was so organized and easy to work with; when I say I had minimal stress the day of I mean it! I know between my awesome vendors everything would be taken care of. The venue itself is so beautiful it doesn’t need much else to make it your own and absolutely gorgeous! The lights in the courtyard add just enough “romance”. The property with the fall leaves and the sun peaking in was the best photo op! Thank you Julie for everything you were amazing!!!

Easy, simple and stunning.

We loved our special day with Fox Hill Event Center and Julie. Between the ease of planning, food, easy set up/tear down and our day of coordinator Georgie. Our day was absolutely stunning and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Thank you for having us at your venue!

No complaints, everything was great

We had a great experience with Fox Hill. Our wedding was beautiful. Julie was very accommodating and made sure everything was as I wanted it. The venue itself is very pretty, which makes decorating very easy. You can do very little decorating and everything still looks amazing. Food was good, came out at the time we discussed, and there was plenty to feed all of our guests. We had a great time.

Amazing Experience

Fox Hill is an absolutely gorgeous venue! Julie was great to work with and helped make sure every detail was taken care of. So many of our guests complimented how beautiful everything was, and our photographer even said it was one of the nicest venues she had been too. The packages are reasonably priced and make it easy to get everything you want. It was so nice not to worry about renting tables and linens. I'm so glad we chose Fox Hill and I wish one of my friends would get married there so I can go back again!!

Julie and all the staff at fox hill were east to work with, helpful and went above and beyond to make our wedding day smooth sailing.

The food was delicious, the staff was prompt and helpful, and Julie was a great help with organizing our wedding.

Fox Hill was the perfect venue for our wedding! Julie made sure that every single detail was perfect and helped make sure we had the most perfect day! I can’t say thank you enough! One of the most important details that she made sure was perfect was the food being allergy friendly for myself and my mom and it was AMAZING! If you are considering Fox Hill as your venue you will NOT be disappointed!

Fox Hill is Perfection!

Fox Hill went above and beyond to help make our wedding perfect. They were very quick to respond to any questions we had and made the entire process easy, stress free and fun. This venue is so beautiful and we are still receiving compliments. The food catered by Blue Heron was so delicious. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue for our wedding. Thank you Fox Hill!

Beautiful and amazing service

Our wedding at Fox Hill was amazing! The team was amazing. We changed our minds a few things in the months leading up to the wedding and they had absolutely no problem adjusting to our wishes! Julie also sat down with us multiple times and kept in continues contact with us regarding decisions needing to be made and never batted an eye when plans changed. The food was amazing and they sent home a plate for me and my husband at the end of the night. The whole property is beautiful: from the pristine entrance of the building, to the back end butting up with a golf course. I couldn’t have been happier with the ceremony and reception. Very affordable for all that comes with the venue. I anticipated my wedding day to be high stress with lots to get taken care but the crew at Fox Hill handle everything and I was able to just enjoy my wedding day. They are amazing!

The perfect venue!

Our wedding day was absolutely perfect! The venue was beautiful and Julie (the owner/coordinator) was extremely helpful. Her communication, professionalism, guidance, and kindness eased my wedding planning stress. Our guests especially raved about the food! Blue heron is the exclusive catering company- everything was tasty and fresh, with so many different options that were not your typical buffet food. They exceeded our expectations in every way!

4 years in the making and everything came out like a dream

I’m not sure where to start as my husband and I have been on quite the journey with Fox Hill since 2018! Like many couples, we were affected by the pandemic and originally scheduled to be married in 2020 but unfortunately had to postpone. Throughout the process (even before the pandemic), Julie and her team have been wonderful especially as we live out of state. We live in Massachusetts but my husband is originally from Michigan. When COVID reared its ugly head, Fox Hill was very accommodating in rescheduling us TWICE! Julie and her team were always very communicative whenever we had questions and we were overjoyed that we could include our pup during our big day. When our big day FINALLY came this past May, everything went so smoothly. Although to be fully transparent, we are pretty easy going and after basically 4 years of wedding planning, we were ready to just celebrate with our friends and family. The food from Blue Heron was SOOOOO GOOD that we might have to stop by the café when we visit family. Our guests also shared this sentiment by also going back to the buffet 2-3 times. We really can’t say enough good things about Fox Hill and so glad we were able to find this venue that made wedding planning so much easier especially from a few states away.

Great caterer! Fantastic food onsite and off

I can’t say enough about how wonderful it was to work with Blue Heron Catering and Julie Williams. The food was amazing, and Julie was a joy to work with. She was easy to communicate with and was always quick to respond to any questions we had. We have several folks who are sensitive to gluten, and Julie truly met those needs. We also had a guest with a sensitivity to onions, and during the reception, Julie grilled some steak without the onion gravy and provided a salad without onions right on the spot. What a blessing that was to our guest! Our guests all raved about the food, and the portions provided were perfect allowing a few folks to enjoy seconds. It is obvious that Julie and Blue Heron Catering truly treat their clients like family. They helped make our daughter’s wedding perfect. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking to host an event in northern Michigan.

Amazing experience for our winter wedding!

My husband and I used Fox Hill and their catering for our February 2022 wedding! Julie and her crew where amazing! Included in your room rental & catering you get a full staff of servers, water service, linen, tables, chairs, some decor, and tear down. We loved having our winter wedding there because there is 2 full walls with windows/doors. They also offer an on-site outdoor area to get married at that is beautiful (we didn't use this due to having a winter wedding). They also allow you to bring in your own alcohol and desert! When we were setting up the staff went above and beyond to help us! We planned our wedding in 3 months, and one of the best choices we made was picking fox hill for our wedding venue!

The best!! Fox Hill was everything we wanted in our wedding venue and it did not disappoint. Have Your Wedding Here - You Won't Regret It

I could not recommend Fox Hill enough. We were absolutely blown away by the service we received from Emileigh. She was communicative, helpful, so sweet, and was a great guide through the wedding planning process. The day of, she was a very calming presence and made sure everything was running smoothly. The venue itself is stunning - all of our family and friends were so impressed with the ceremony area and the elegant reception venue. We had 120 guests and the room was filled without being crowded at all. You could definitely have more people in there with a different chair arrangement. I would highly, highly recommend working with Fox Hill.

From the very first meeting up until our wedding day, my husband and I have been so pleased. Fox Hill is gorgeous, the staff is great, and the food is amazing! All our guests have been raving about the night. We couldn't have been more happy with the day. Fox Hills was the perfect place for our wedding. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. We were able to decorate the trellis, the patio area had plenty of room for our 140 guests, and the setup was very simple. Our guests loved being able to have a cocktail hour where they could sit on the porch, play lawn games, and just relax while we were taking pictures. We took all of our couple/group photos on the grounds, and they are absolutely stunning! All of the little details put in to the grounds made for wonderful pictures.
The interior was just as great. Logistically, it was great to have the bar there, and to open the doors as it cooled off a bit in the evening. The room is fairly simple in decor, which makes for a great blank canvas for the wedding. I loved the way it looked for our wedding, and when we picked up the rest of our things the next day, the versatility of the room proved itself once again when it looked like a totally different venue!
Julie and Andrea were so helpful. I don't think the day would have gone so smoothly without them. We can't thank them and the Fox Hills/Blue Heron staff enough!!

The venue was truly everything we've ever imagined. From the friendly staff, beautiful ceremony site, and delicious food; everything was perfect. The venue has a warming, welcoming feel which irradiated throughout the whole property. Everyone enjoyed themselves and said it was the best weddings we've been to in a long time.

We absolutely LOVED everything about Fox Hill! The venue itself is beautiful, the food is the best, and Julie, the owner, is so awesome to work with. I truly feel like Fox Hill is the best venue around. Julie is very quick to respond to any form of communication and is always willing to help out. We have received so many compliments since our big day regarding how beautiful Fox Hill is and how awesome their food is too. Everyone says it was the best wedding food they have ever had and we definitely agree. I would choose Fox Hill again and again! They can't be beat.

I was so pleased with their services. They were so efficient and very useful in helping me plan my big day. The food was amazing. All of my guests agreed, most people said it was the best wedding food they ever had. The venue is gorgeous and everything just went so smoothly. My husband and I recently celebrated our special day here in August. It was beyond beautiful. The venue is absolutely gorgeous. The outside area for the ceremony is perfect with the waterfall and is perfect for getting some great photos. The staff was amazing and Julie is so easy to work with and she makes sure everything is perfect for your special day. I would highly recommend Fox Hill Event Center for anyone looking for a beautiful location with a nice and friendly staff.

Gracious and thorough. The beautiful perk of having your event here, is that they are all inclusive. No hidden fees. Catering restaurant is owned by the same family & the food is wholesome, well prepared and really delicious! We even had some separate vegetarian dishes that my guests were delighted with! The team at Fox Hill is knowledgeable, patient and very helpful. They're preferred vendors (we used their bar and spoke to their decorator) are as well! Our guests and families were so enchanted with the venue (and the dinner!!) that they kept telling us how incredible our wedding was. And it was a VERY low budget and a rather unorganized wedding. However, everyone just saw the beautiful venue & enjoyed the awesome catering. I am very grateful for the team at Fox Hill!

We used Fox Hill Event Center for our wedding at the end of August 2015. Everyone we talked to at the reception absolutely loved it there, the beautiful romantic setting and the amazing food! Knowing everything I know now, I would not have changed a thing! Julie, the owner, was extremely professional and caring. Andrea who works for Julie, was there for our wedding and was very helpful and so sweet. It could not have gone any better, and all of my memories of that day are absolutely perfect, no doubt largely thanks to Julie and Andrea!

Foxhill was the PERFECT choice for our wedding! The venue is so beautiful, the FOOD WAS AMAZING, the staff were so nice and helpful. My parents being the mother and father of the bride received so many compliments on every aspect of the wedding.
Julie and Andrea (Wedding Coordinators) helped with so much detail and were so easy to work with. The communication was one of the most important parts, and they were easy to get in touch with and replied promptly. Both of them were so willing to meet my family and I at the last second to review details and make last minute changes.
Andrea helped so much with rehersal and also the day of the wedding. Everything was so seamless and proceeded on time. I was even allowed to have my dog there the whole night (except for dinner hours- in which case he was able to sit outside)- our guests love seeing the true beauty of a Michigan July as we were able to sit outside and enjoy a fire, or just to sit outside and socialize.

I gave Foxhill a 5/5 because I wouldn't change ANYTHING about my wedding day!

I would absolutely recommend Fox Hill Event Center to any bride! Julie the owner was so helpful when we met with her. She also gave us a list of other vendors which was so helpful to have vendors that had worked this venue before. I fell in love with this venue, because of how beautiful the grounds are. I wanted to have my ceremony outside but have an indoor reception and this place is the best of both worlds! Fox Hill Has an amazing outdoor ceremony space complimented by a very romantic indoor reception space. So many things are included with this venue also like: Tables, chairs, set up, break down, table covers, chair covers, all the formal dinning wear, and food is catered by Blue Heron Cafe. All this is included in the final price you are given so there is no guessing when it's time to pay. Overall I would highly recommend Fox Hill Event Center when planning your big day. I'm glad I did!!! Good Luck to all the future brides out there!!

Our wedding was a small intimate family wedding, however, that did not mean any less attention to detail from Julie and her staff. Excellent facility and service, food was outstanding. Your courtyard is beautiful and the pictures show it. Thank you so much for making our day so memorable.

What a beautiful setting for a wedding! Julie did an exceptional job. She basically acted as a wedding planner, giving us guidance and suggestions. She allowed and helped us tailor our wedding/reception to my daughters desires. She and her assistant were very prompt answering our questions and helping us decorate. Talk about flexible, when it was raining just hours before the wedding, Julie was out in the rain helping put up protection for the bridal party, even buying umbrellas for them to use. Luckily, the rain quit and we did not need them (I almost believe Julie had something to do with this,too).

We had many positive comments about the food. Everyone I talked to said it was superb. One person even said it was the best wedding food he has ever had.

I am very pleased we chose Fox Hill for our daughters wedding and would highly recommend them.

Julie is a top-notch professional. She knows the wedding-business well, and with her connections with local vendors, she is able to ensure a seamless event. I visited Fox Hill once for a bridal show and was hooked. The venue is gorgeous! There are so many amazing photo opportunities, the grounds are filled with flowers, and backing up to the golf course doesn't hurt. It's simply an amazing place for an outdoor summer wedding. Catering is exclusive through Blue Heron - and it was delicious! Guests commented on how wonderful the food was... Julie packed up some leftovers for us...and it is the thoughtful small details and gestures like that which show how Julie goes above and beyond. A wedding is like putting on a serious show - and at the end of the night, you're exhausted and hungry, and a little snack of amazing leftovers is just what this bride and groom needed! Expect that Julie will anticipate needs like this and more. Just a stellar place for your wedding.

Five stars is not nearly enough to rate Julie and everyone at Fox Hill! Not only is this a drop-dead gorgeous place to have a fantastic outdoor wedding, the indoor reception hall is just as stunning and available just steps away in case of bad weather! Fox Hill took care of our every need, want and crazy wish, making our wedding the beautiful, touching, silly, blue and white polka-dotted celebration of our dreams. And the food!!! Don't get me started. So unbelievably AMAZING! We could only afford the "cheap" menu, and you would have thought Fox Hill and Blue Heron were catering for the Royal Family! We received so many compliments for the beauty of the location, the kindness of the staff, the scrumptious food, the stunning décor - truly - everyone should get married here. This is a place where fairy tales happen, and dreams come true.

The food provided by Blue Heron was beyond expectations! Our guests were very pleased with the quality, taste, and variety. The food options we had to choose from were plentiful and affordable.

The owner did everything in her power to make our day as perfect and as special as she could. She was very flexible, and very open to our ideas. The staff was very professional and helped our day go as smoothly as possible. Throughout the entire day, she had a designated staff member, along with herself, available and ready in case something went wrong. She was one of the best event coordinators we've ever had the pleasure of working with and we definitely recommend Fox Hill Event Center to anyone.

Julie and her staff were amazing! My wedding could not have been better thanks in part to these wonderful ladies making sure everything ran smoothly. In the months and days leading up to the wedding Julie was more then willing to exchange emails or phone calls in a timely manner, or even arrange a time to meet with me. I'm a dance teacher and my schedule is always crazy with rehearsal and class and Julie was always willing to work around my schedule to find a time that worked for me. She was even able to recommend people to help with decorations, beverage services, or anything else I might have needed. The Blue Heron, which catered my event, was amazing. The food was some of the best I've ever eaten. I would highly recommend Julie, her staff, and Fox Hills Event Center to anyone. The venue itself was so beautiful, but it was really the people I worked with on the day of my wedding that really made the day!

I loved working with Julie - she referred me to other wonderful vendors for my wedding that were professional and tons of fun. Overall, our wedding experience at Foxhill was memorable, beautiful and we are still getting compliments on everything about the reception. One friend told me that she went back to work that week and told everyone that over the weekend she went to the most beautiful wedding she had ever attended. I have Julie and the wonderful staff at Foxhill to thank for helping all my dreams come true with the service, DJ Mike Sinclair, the lighting, the FOOD from the Blue Heron (amazing!!), custom creations for beautiful flowers and centerpieces and also for her flexibility with allowing us to come in and add our own little touches to really make the room sparkle with glittering pine cones and snow flakes. My daughter was married at Fox Hill Event Center. We were exceedingly pleased with Julie and her staff. Her husband actually came and helped me unload decorations from my truck. They were all professional and very helpful. The food was absolutely fantastic, we had many compliments on the food. Everyone raved about it. The cost for the venue and all that it included was very reasonable and the added extras were recommended by Julie and the vendors recommended by Fox Hill staff were also exceptional.
I cannot thank Fox Hill enough for making my daughter's wedding day perfect for her. I would recommend Fox Hill to anyone who needs an event venue.

We were very happy working with Julie at Fox Hill. My guests were VERY complimentary of the event hall and the food. Getting in to setup the day before was easy and we appreciated the flexibility to do so. Communication with Julie via email for the arrangements was really easy, and also the option of dropping deposit money at the Blue Heron Café was helpful too. We held our daughter's wedding reception at Fox Hill. I am so glad we made this choice. Julie was so helpful with the planning. She was flexible and so easy to work with. The staff took so much of the responsibility/work out of our hands; what a relief. Brian and the food were amazing. They made a vegetarian dish per Ellen's request for a couple who attended. The venue was also amazing...the decorations, screen for the slide show, bride's room, clean restrooms. Unfortunately the day Matt & Ellen got married it was a torrential down pour, so we were not able to go outside for pictures. I was also very impressed with how Julie released the guest tables when it was time for each table to get up and join the serving line. There wasn't a huge line this way and the flow of people coming and going really worked. Thank you for a great experience!

My wife and I got married there and had our reception there as well, the place is amazing!! It is great to have a place like this in our town that does a great job and you do not have to worry about anything! The staff there is just as great as the place is as well!! I havent even been married a week and I have recieved an abundance of phone calls of nothing but great things to say about our wedding and reception at Fox Hill. I have been asked, if you could change anything about the day what would you change? Absolutely NOTHING! It was everything I have ever wanted for my wedding day and Gary and I couldnt be more happy with everything. As mother of the bride, I could not have been more pleased with the entire day. The professionalism of the staff was exceedingly accommodating, flexible, and gracious. The facility was very welcoming with beautiful, neutral decor, which made it quite easy to decorate and add our own personal touches. The grounds and landscaping were just amazing--extremely relaxing and ideal for photographs. And, the evening's meal was unsurpassed. The chef did a phenomenal job from start to finish--everything was fresh, hot and flavorful. We are continuing to receive raving complements from guests telling us what a wonderful evening they had and saying "that was the best meal I've ever had at a wedding" and "what a beautiful facility and setting". The bride and groom could not be happier with their decision to have trusted their very special day to the owners and staff at Fox Hill Event Center.

This was a great place to have our reception. Everything was set up just how I wanted it and I did not have to do any of the tearing down. The staff did that all. It was great, and we had an amazing reception thanks to everyone. Staff was wonderful with clearing plates and asking me if I needed anything and if I would like more food warmed up since I didn't get a chance to eat alot. Great overall!!

Fox Hill was everything that we dreamed of for our wedding reception. They really took care of us--fabulous setting with a well-designed layout. Our guests were really able to enjoy themselves. Some even took family pictures on the patio. The food was excellent and we've heard nothing but rave reviews from our guests. They're still talking about the roast beef! Often people say you don't remember what you eat at your wedding...not true with Fox Hill. We'll remember our first dinner as a married couple for years to come! Julie and Brian are a breeze to work with and they really care about making things work for what you want and so that you're able to stay within your budget. Julie, the owner of Fox Hill Event Center, was amazing, she worked with my husband and I even though we were planning a short notice wedding, with more than a few bumps in the road, and we were from a couple of hours away. She responded to all of our questions in a very timely, professional manner. She was a great help during the planning process and gave us all the information we needed as far as DJ services, officiants, florist, and where to go for a great wedding cake. Anything we asked of her she either could supply for us or direct us somewhere that could help us. She was a joy to work with and made the wedding planning process for our special day that much easier. I would recommend her to anyone looking to get married in the Cadillac area. Also the food provided by the Blue Heron was AMAZING! All of our guests enjoyed the food, it was hot and delicious. We were all pleased with the food. I would say it was the best wedding food I have ever had.

Wonderful! Everything was beautiful, professional, and timely. Perfect place for a wedding reception. All my guests loved the food! The sunset over the golf course and the fire-pit were great high lights from the day. If you get married in Cadillac, this is the place for your reception! Julie was awesome to work with :-)

Beautiful Venue

Beautiful Venue. Being a Covid Bride that had to reschedule 3 times, they were very helpful through out that process. I would recommend to all my friends!

The setting at Fox Hill is beautiful for an outdoor wedding, so convenient to have your ceremony and reception in the same place. The food from Blue Heron is very good and we received many compliments on it. The wait staff at the hall were great, they lit a bonfire at night for us and were very helpful with everything. I worked on planning first with Julie Willams, the owner, then Julie Kearns, the new wedding organizer there. I found Julie Williams more difficult to work with, less friendly but Julie Kearns was fantastic, friendly and very helpful the day of rehearsal and the day of the wedding.

Julie and the staff at Fox Hill were fabulous to work with. They were very helpful with tips and suggestions along the way as well as extremely flexible with different ideas I had for our wedding day. I would most definitely recommend Fox Hill to friends, family and anybody who will listen! We had a fabulous and absolutely stress free wedding planning experience and wedding day!

We had an absolute blast at our wedding. Even though we were from out of state, it was very easy working with Julie to make our special day perfect. I heard nothing but compliments from my guests following the event. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. It was a perfect location and price.

We received many positive comments on our wedding.The centerpieces were perfect and we received a lot of compliments.Our guests also also thought the food was excellent. Julie also provided a list of officiants . From that list we found the perfect person for us. Julie provided excellent service and advice for our wedding.

Fox Hill Event Center provided an organized, relaxed and yet flexible experience for the day of my wedding. Being a stressed bride, and with the presence of rain, we had to relocate the ceremony from outdoors to indoors at last minute. The staff made the transition very smooth and everything progressed without a hitch. The food was amazing and even months afterwards, friends and family were still raving about the awesome menu! Our wedding pictures turned out great too with the different areas for great photo ops, both indoor and out. My husband and I were very happy to have chosen Fox Hill Event Center for our wedding :)

Highly Complimented Venue

We enjoyed having our wedding ceremony and reception at Fox Hill Event Center. We received many compliments on the venue and the grounds. Catering must be done by the venue which limited our options but all of our guests raved about the food as well. Overall, we were satisfied with the quality and value of the venue.

Very beautiful atmosphere , Julie was amazing to work with .. How ever information exchanged with her assistant would often get lost in translation and had to provide some information numerous times , and very very hard to get ahold of for information.. had to go straight to julie.

The venue is beautiful with a great northern Michigan feel and the food is even better!! Julie (wedding coordinator) is a great wedding organizer and I was happy to work with her to plan my dream day! However, I was disappointed in the assistant wedding coordinator as I had to go over everything with her in detail the day off and day before the wedding (things I had already gone over with the wedding coordinator), and this I found to be very frustrating and stressful. This did not allow things to flow as smoothly as I planned.

The service was good for the night of the wedding along with the food. It tasted very good to not only our guest, but us as well. It would be beneficial to make sure and get back with clients as soon as possible and try to schedule appointments with enough time, so that the clients do not feel rushed and that they are inconveniencing you when calling and meeting. Overall, we enjoyed our experience working with Julie and Fox Hill and found our wedding reception to have went very well and our guest enjoyed the overall experience and atmosphere as well. Thanks!

We had a beautiful wedding at Fox Hill. It is a great place if you want that indoor/outdoor feel. They were very flexible with us on the whole event. You can decorate the venue how you want which gives it your own unique feel and they really worked with us on the menu. The food was fantastic! We heard so many good comments on the food.
Be sure to keep tabs on all your details as the planning progresses.

Disappointed

Initially they were very helpful and clearly knowledgeable about their facility and how to run an event smoothly. We were very happy with the process and communication.

Unfortunately, our event needed to be cancelled. We were just under a month out when we notified them and I understand that they had already met with us and put in several hours of their time. I also understand that we had essentially taken up that date, preventing them from booking it with someone else. However, this was for an early December date, what they considered "offseason" and therefore not really in high demand.

When we notified them of our need to cancel and asked about a potential refund, we were expecting at least a partial refund. They had been paid over $2000.00 dollars and had not really done anything at this time and the likelihood that we prevented them from booking someone else is minimal. We certainly did not expect a full refund, but something would have been appreciated, especially considering the circumstances leading to our cancellation.

In complete transparency, our contract did say that payments were not refundable. Very disappointed that this is how this was handled and certainly would prevent us from booking anything with them in the future or recommending them to anyone.

This venue is absolutely beautiful, all of our guests truly enjoyed the venue and the grounds. Overall it was a wonderful day, however, the customer service was terrible and the problems that arose on our wedding day were due to prior miscommunication at the fault of the vendor. Some of the problems we encountered were as follows: waiting days to weeks for a response to our questions in e-mail or by phone, scheduling meeting times and then being left at the meeting for some other errand by the "event planner"-- feeling pressured to not ask the questions we still had, having items we requested not present at the wedding (champagne flutes in our case) and being treated rudely when asked to retrieve them, rushed through our wedding pictures so that a buffet dinner could start on time (and then have it delayed by the person who rushed us) having the hall toured by strangers during our decorating (although it was nice to have it available for day before decorating), being left by the event planner not even halfway through the event with no other contact person in case problems arose (which they did) and many other similar occurrences throughout the rehearsal dinner and the cleanup. Everyone who made contact with our event planner was sorely disappointed with her service. Perhaps it was the timing of our wedding but I've never received such poor service for the amount of money we spent. It would have been nice to not have to prompt and basically beg for in-person meetings only to drive two hours and be left by her so she could run errands. The problems that arose on our wedding day could have been easily avoided with better service and better communication beforehand-- which those involved in my event tried to coordinate several times. This place is beautiful and I loved my wedding, however, if you do book her don't expect much professionalism or quality service. Based on my experience it really felt like she doesn't care about your event, just the hall she provides.
