    Outstanding food and service!

    I recently got married on September 3,2022 and we engaged “Food By Design” caterer Debbie Vescovi to cater our rehearsal dinner and the wedding reception. She and her staff did an outstanding job in the food preparation and in service.
    When I first spoke to Debbie, I immediately knew that she would be our choice to entrust with both of our functions. Debbie’s vivacious spirit quickly put my mind at ease when she started recommending various foods to prepare for each function. She described each appetizer and dish in such detail I could almost taste the gastronomic feast she was going to prepare for us.
    Her culinary talents far exceeded our expectations and our guests literally raved about each of the foods prepared. We definitely will engage Debbie’s “ Food By Design” catering, located in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, for future parties and functions.
    So, “THANK YOU” Debbie in making our wedding rehearsal and wedding reception a success on many levels!

    Amazing value!

    Everything leading up to our wedding as well as the day of, was exceptional. Debbie and her team were very professional and easy to work with. Despite using her for the first time, she treated us like she’s known us forever. We were in good hands! The friendly service and the food were excellent! All of our guests raved about our appetizer filled cocktail reception. It left you wanting more because of how good everything was but more than stuffed! I would recommend her to anyone!

    Debbie and her team went above and beyond for rather large wedding of over 200 guests. She ran into many obstacles at my venue and she continued to work with a smile and keep the food hot! People could not stop talking about the food. I would highly recommend Food By Design if you want delicious food and a catering staff that’s extremely friendly!

    Debbie of Food By Design was fantastic to work with! We especially appreciated all of her professionalism, devotion, insight, and guidance as we planned our wedding. The day far exceeded expectations thanks to the tremendous efforts of Debbie and her team. All of our guests raved about the top notch gourmet food as it was amazing, especially the appetizers.     We were very pleased with Debbie services for the night before our wedding. we had an open house for 75 people at the beach and she came ready and set up effortlessly.
    I guess we're very pleased with the assortment of appetizers and the specialty margaritas served. the house was as clean as could be with no evidence of a party when they left. thanks for a great night Debbie!

    The food and customer service was amazing. Our first vendor disappeared and Debbie came to the rescue five weeks before the event. Everyone who attended commented that it was some of the best wedding food they had had, it was served family style and was hot and delicious.

    We had a casual affair at a house in Bethany. We described it to friends as "a high end BBQ where we happened to get married." From the moment we talked to Deb, she got it. Even though we had 100 guests, she was not fazed. And she upped our "BBQ" to simply elegant food.

    I cannot possibly recommend Deb enough. She and her amazing daughter came by the night before and even brought us extra vases when we ran out of places for flowers- And they made us plates of food knowing we would never get to try any of the food during a crazy reception. At the end of the night it was a huge comfort and joy to come home and heat up a plate of food that was everything our guests had raved about.

    I would absolutely recommend Deb to anyone. She became part of our family and she is stuck with us. :)

    Debbie with Food by Design by far exceeded our expectations! From the start, she had suggestions and worked with our budget. We were in awe when she came to our home to cook the full menu and appetizers. She was always checking in prior to the wedding and quick responsive times. They set up the table clothes, plates etc. During Cocktail hour she made sure the wedding party and my family were also getting appetizers while getting pictures. The servers and staff were friendly and very accommodating to my guest. The food was out of this world AMAZING!!! Everyone is still going on about the all of the food.

    If you are still looking for a caterer--make the best and easiest choice you can make and go with Food by Design. I will forever cherish how amazing Debbie made everything!

    Debbie was absolutely amazing. The food she created for our wedding is exactly what we have been dreaming about for so long. We loved the amount of choices and so did the guests. The food was GONE by the end of the reception. When i say amazing, I mean amazing. Not only was the flavor amazing the presentation was gorgeous which was equally important to us. The service along with the food was great too. Highly recommend Debbie and food by design!!!

    Debbie and her team are wonderful. We were so happy to have her catering our wedding and I got so many compliments from our guests about the quality and the creativity of the food.

    Her team also on top of the wedding flows and schedules and provided whatever supports needed for smooth operations. I'll totally recommend Debbie to anyone I know for the special celebration especially wedding.

    Debbie from Food by Design was OUTSTANDING to work with!!! I am still getting feedback from my guests about how amazing the food was at our reception. From day 1 Debbie worked to accommodate our needs. She provided a tasting for us in her home, as we were from out of town. We were blown away by the quality of her food! My husband talked about it that entire weekend and couldn't wait for the wedding so he could eat her food again! The portions were large, the variety of what we were able to offer was beyond what we had expected, and the price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend Food by Design to anyone looking for a caterer for any event, especially a wedding!

    Excellent service! Caterer was prompt with arrival and the food was completed and ready to be served at the pre-determined time. We also received a ton of compliments on the food! A wonderful variety of unique appetizers and entrees. Highly recommended!!!

    Food is AMAZING! Best in Rehoboth! Even if your not in Rehoboth...pay the travel cost, its worth it! Debbie and her staff were absolutely fantastic! My guest nothing but rave about how amazing all the food was and how it was the best wedding food they have ever had. Everything from the best crab cake...ever, to the chicken, pork, potatoes, green beans, really it all is some of the best food we have ever had.

    Thank you so much Debbie for everything! The whole group of us are thinking about getting all together down there again and we may have to hirer you to make dinner for us!!!

    Thanks again. We will talk about your food for our big day for years!

    Debbie the owner was responsive and engaged from my first contact and suggested a unique and balanced menu. She also provided us a tasting for 4 people. Having been together for 23 years we chose to have a relaxed ceremony and reception all in home with approximately 50 guests. Staff arrived at the agreed upon time and quietly went about setting up and the food was ready at the scheduled time. We had heavy finger food, 11-12 items. The food you provided was EXTRAORDINARY and as you promised there was plenty of it! On top of the food being so special (and people are still talking about it), your staff did a great job! Since the house has an open floor plan they had to prepare in the kitchen exposed to all the guests. They were neat, friendly, helpful, and very efficient - they fit right in! I am sure they left the place neater and cleaner than
    they found it.

    I have used caterers a number of times in the past for both personal and work related functions and can easily say this was the best overall experience I have ever had...most professional, BEST FOOD, best presentation, easiest people to deal with!

    Debbie and her staff were excellent at our wedding. My husband and I wanted special food for our beach town wedding. She catered to all of our needs and wants. Her food was tasty and delicious. All of our guests commented on how they enjoyed the food and that they didn't go home hungry. I would highly suggest you look up Food by Design for your Wedding or special event.

    I highly receccomend Debbie the owner of Food by Design. We wanted heavy hors d'oeuvres at our wedding and I couldn't have been happier with the outcome of everything. The food was absolutely amazing, the presentation was beautifully put together and nobody left our wedding hungry! Debbie was easy to contact and made herself available for any questions that I had. Her and her staff were a pleasure to work with and I plan on using her for future events in our lives.

    Debbie was a pleasure to work with. She catered our outdoor reception and provided amazing service without needing a kitchen to cook the food. Everything turned out great! Her appetizer options were unique and very tasty.

    My wedding was almost a year ago and I'm still trying to recreate Deb's amazing "Bloody Mary Bites," but to no avail. I had one friend text me 6 months after saying she dreamed about the Roasted Garlic Red Mashed Potatoes from our wedding, and my maid of honor tried to get Food by Design for her wedding a couple hundred miles away especially for the bite-sized servings of Vegan Lentil Loaf Deb concocted for our reception with a higher than average vegetarian guest list.

    Communicating with Food by Design was easy, the tasting was a delightful experience, and she accommodated my crazy schedule for it. The hardest part was choosing the best flavors for my menu! Here were some of my favorite apps: Honey Peppered Goat Cheese, Antipasto Sticks in Homemade Balsamic and especially the Blueberry Medley! It's soo inventive and playful--sweet, rich and savory flavors combined. I wish I knew how to make it. The one thing we couldn't agree on was salad. I eat salad every day and enjoy super healthy salads with bitter greens and beans and nuts, but she was insistent on a more standard green salad with a vinaigrette. I can admit I've never catered for large masses of people, so perhaps she was right, because everyone went on and on about the food. My mother in law loved the Honey Pecan Cranberry Chicken Salad Cups and my husband's favorite thing was the Roasted Brussels Sprouts. My father in law was most enthusiastic about the Tomato Cream Stuffed Chicken w/ Sun Dried Tomato Wine Sauce. That was fantastic.

    Debbie worked well with assistants who were already at our location and with rental equipment we brought in. Everything was homemade and you could taste it. She combined plating and buffet in a way that worked for our timeline and saved us money. I wish I could cater a meal for me and some friends just to eat her food again! I know friends who would definitely appreciate it.

    Debbie was so personable and easy to work with. The food was absolutely delicious; my guests continue to rave about her crabcakes! Debbie was even gracious enough to bring me a plate of food, as I was too busy socializing to get one for myself. She arrived early, the presentation was gorgeous, her assistant was helpful and friendly. If you are looking for an exceptional caterer, go with Food By Design!

    I had a perfect day and Debi is amazing! She is so flexible, accommodating, and is a great cook! There was hardly any food left over! She came to my house and did a tasting and my mother, who is one of the pickiest eaters I know, at EVERYTHING Debi cooked. We had cupcakes which we to die for and we did a fun mashed potato bar. I didn't hear a single negative comment about anything. I would highly recommend her to everyone and will definitely be calling her again.

    I would recommend Food by Design, absolutely, hands down, 110%! My taste buds were hooked at a bridal show and Debbie was the only caterer's food that I remembered and couldn't stop thinking about! The guests at weddings always remember if the food was good or not and we definitely wanted our guests to experience Debbie's delicious creations. Food by Design was the first vendor I had to book because no other food would compare. Plus, every encounter with Debbie was delightful - she's friendly, approachable, very responsive, adaptable, and of course an amazing chef! And most importantly to me, I know Debbie truly cared about making our day special. Our entire experience was enjoyable! I look forward to using Food by Design for any future events I may have!

    We just loved having Debbie and her staff cater our wedding! The menu was very important to us and she worked with us from the tasting (she even drove to us and cooked the tasting menu at our house!) all the way up to a day before the wedding to make sure everything was perfect. She was extremely enthusiastic (and helpful) when it came to working within our budget, and best of all, she was proactive in suggesting dishes that worked well with our theme and our guests. We received TONS of compliments from our guests and we both were extremely happy with the food (which was nothing less than expected after being blown away at the tasting!). We give Debbie five stars for the quality of service, responsiveness, professionalism, value, and flexibility - she truly completed our wedding and caused us zero stress in the process. She (and her food) are amazing!

    Debbie and her staff were wonderful! We just wanted heavy hors d'oeuvres at our wedding and it was perfect. Debbie is creative and flexible and it is obvious that she loves what she does. She is also afoordable and willing to work with any budget. We received lots of compliments from our guests and I would recommend Food By Design to just about anyone.

    From our first phone consultation to our special day, Debbie made planning the wedding stress free! Our guests LOVED the food from the tasty, creative appetizers and the main buffet to the delicious cupcakes.

    I highly recommend using Food by Design catering for any important event in your life, especially your wedding. From the moment I contacted Debbie, the owner, she was professional, responsive and supportive. Both her incredible food and her passion for catering inspired my husband and I to hire her as our caterer. While other local caterers took days to contact us regarding our questions or interests, Debbie was on the phone or had emailed us within 24 hours. She was easy to contact and made herself available for any concerns or questions we had.

    Debbie went the extra mile in every avenue of our wedding process. She provided a free wedding menu tasting for not only my husband and I, but for anyone we wanted to invite. Boy were we spoiled! Debbie provided us with numerous choices and incorporated our input in what we wanted for our big day. She listened to our likes and dislikes, allowing us to design our food for the evening. Her food was flavorful, desirable and we could not get enough!

    Food by Design not only provided excellent catering services that were professional and on point, but they also provided the service of setting up and breaking down the ceremony/reception for a small fee. This was a life saver. It allowed my family and wedding party to enjoy our big day, rather than run around like workers.

    I am more than happy to say that our wedding day was a success due to the fact that we employed Food by Design as our caterer. Debbie went above and beyond the duties of a caterer and far surpassed my expectations. Our event was flawless due to her great employees, phenomenal food, and desire for perfection.
    We still have family and friends contacting us (almost 2 months later) to rave about how amazing the food and service was at our wedding. I can not thank Debbie and Food by Design enough.

    the food she makes is fantastic- people are still talking about how great the food was at my wedding. The presentation is beautiful.
    Debbie was always SUPER accommodating, very organized, easy to get in touch with and was always checking in.
    Her staff was excellent. Everything was perfect! I had a tent wedding at a facility with nothing but outlets and everything was amazing!!

    Debbie is the best! Super personable and flexible, with amaaaazing food at an affordable cost. We planned our wedding from the other side of the country, but she was great at taking our menu ideas and giving us good options, as well as making suggestions for other vendors and methods that would help us save money. On top of all that, we've already heard raves about the food! Plus, it was served by a great, professional staff, who were incredibly gracious and helpful. Hire Food by Design!

    The food was great! Many of our guests commented on how delicious it was and was asking for the receipe. The presentation was also beautiful. Instead of using standard chafing dishes, deb had beautiful serving dishes that made my table look great with my flowers and decorations. We were so busy getting everything together before the reception but deb was kind enough to make us a plate before all the guests came. This was much appreciated because we were greeting and socializing with all our guests and did not eat at all during the reception.
