Fontana Bridal has a wonderful selection of dresses and they really do make every effort to partner with you on timing and pricing. Corey Fontana (one of the owners) was incredibly patient with me as I kept reaching out (and was nervous) about my dress coming in on time. I am planning a wedding for 6 months post engagement - so I was quite a nervous nelly when it came to waiting a few months for my dress.

I think part of my nervousness was not fully understanding the process. Every dress is custom made. Once the manufacturer makes a delivery commitment, there is little that the retailer (any retailer) can do in terms of finding out the status of the dress. They can follow up a little better around the time the dress is expected to arrive.

My dress did arrive within a week of when I was informed that it would. I showed up for my first fitting, during which Corey, and several other staff members (including Lulu and Ardianna) came to check in and help me out. Ardianna worked a miracle as I needed an additional piece for my dress to be more covered for my ceremony.

Fontana's customer service is fantastic - and they are really patient with nervous (and somewhat naturally impatient brides). They've been in business since the 1940s - and for good reason. They are a family run business, and they truly just want to please their customers.

This was our fourth bridal boutique and finally we found a place where I felt like a special bride-to-be. It was such a special experience for my mother and sisters that my mother was brought to tears.

We went out in the snow storm and it was worth the trip! While everyone working there was attentive and friendly, the consultant who helped me specifically, Tracey, was incredible. I told her the style I liked and she patiently found dress after dress for me to try on. She was honest and that was something I definitely appreciated. Being yessed to death wasn't what I was looking for.

The hospitality was lovely, with nice touches like champagne for myself and my bridal party. By the time we left our group hugged included the consultant, Tracey. She had become an unofficial member of the bridal party!

Sure enough, I said yes to the dress! Their selection in dresses in various price ranges was great. Their prices were more than competitive and the service and attention was unparalleled.

My second trip to Fontana and it was as positive as the first one. Tracey and Dana were so accommodating. I had wanted to make sure about sizing on my beautiful wedding dress. The ladies gladly brought my dress up, answered all my questions and reassured my mother and me. I felt like my questions might have been silly but neither of the ladies ever made me feel that way. They were patient and honest.

I would highly recommend Fontana for any dress needs! Thank you so much Tracey and Dana!

If you want to feel like a princess and feel that you are the most important person in the world not only on your wedding day but the day you pick out your dress then I would go to Fontana to buy your wedding gown. I first went New York City to search for my wedding gown. I went to Saks 5th ave, Kleinfelds and I felt rushed. My mom wanted to go to Fontana to look for the mother of the bride dress so I went with her. We went there without an appointment. Dana greeted us asked if we needed help and came up with dresses for my mom that she thought she would look good in. Even without an appointment we were given the royal treatment. They asked if I wanted to try on this one gown I had been staring at(I tried it on in the city and loved it but they rushed me out of it and never let me enjoy the dress)and I said no, because I didn’t want to be a bother. After awhile they said you have to go try it. I tried on the gown and I fell in love with it. I wanted to try on another dress to see if I had the same feeling, they gladly let me try on another gown and I knew it wasn’t the one, they said try on the original gown again. I put my dream dress back on and walked out of the room, I started to cry because I knew it was the one. They gave us champagne for me and mom to toast to. After about another half an hour walking around the store in my gown( that they never pressure me to take off) my mom said that’s it we have to get it. Meanwhile they were close to closing time and they never once pointed that out to me or rushed me. I felt as though I was with my extended family, they wanted me to have this gown, they shared the most special moment with me. I could not have asked for a more perfect place to purchase the most important dress in my life. Everyone at Fontana was so unbelievably genuinely nice and happy. They greeted us with warmth and compassion. Dana went out of her way for me, she had so much patience and was just genuinely thrilled to be helping me try on gowns.

I bought my bridal gown at Fontana Couture Bridal Salon and I have to say that my experience there was great from picking out the dress, coming in to visit it to try it on with jewelry options and see what veil would match, to the fittings and the final take home. The staff there was so warm and welcoming and made me feel almost like family when I would come in and see the same women who had set me up in the dressing room the day I found my dress, and she always remembered me, would greet me with a hug and was just so genuinely excited for all of "her brides" as she would say. I really appreciated that during the tailoring they even allowed us to just wait (instead of making another trip back to the shop) for the pressing of the dress/veil so that we could go home with it that day. It is a gorgeous shop with so many options and I was happy to find a simpler column dress that wasn't big at the bottom or a long train (since my wedding was August and outside I didn't want to sweat to death in a dress!) However, they have every type of dress and so many designers - I lucked out buying one off the rack that was JUST PERFECT :)

I recommend making an appointment and getting the experience with a personalized touch that this boutique has to offer. And if on a budget just wait to hear about their sales and sidewalk sales because I stopped in to see my dress during one of them and there were some crazy deals going on!

Best wishes to finding your perfect gown! :)

I really enjoyed my experience with Fontana. I had first gone to Kleinfeld's, and felt as though I was treated like a dollar sign. When I went to Fontana, the sales women were very nice, comforting, and a lot less stuffy than my previous experience. I was allowed to take pictures of the dresses I had on, and didn't feel rushed at all. After purchasing my dress, my fittings were fabulous! The tailor, Robin is extremely good at what he does. I had many people ask me during the wedding if I had my dress made specifically for my body. My dress was gorgeous, the staff was friendly and not pushy, and it was extremely impressive how the alterations made me look great!

From the second I stepped into your salon in search of my dream dress, to the personal phone call I received from Daina the day of my wedding wishing me well, Fontana Bridal has been the most elegant and professional group I have had the privilege of knowing. You were kind, accommodating and knowledgeable. Most importantly, you found me the most exquisite gown I could have ever imagined.

The tailor on staff is a miracle worker and I got so many compliments on my "on of a kind" wedding dress and my bridesmaids dresses.

I simple adore the folks at Fontana's Bridal as they are some of the best and most professional people I know and strongly recommend their salon for any and all of your couture needs!

The end result was amazing. We had many ups and downs in my dress shopping. One of which included my gown getting ruined by super storm sandy. However Nancy came tru for me in the biggest way. That is why I gave her five stars. She was on top of the designer to have my dress remade. Robin the tailor who helped me was incredible. My dress was perfect!! I owe them and would recommend them to anyone. They treat their brides like they should be treated.

I had a memorable experience at Fontana's. They helped me find a dress that fit my personality and look. What I loved about Fontana was that they would let you try on ever dress in the building if you had too. Fortunately I didn't need to do that but I found the perfect one. They gave wonderful advice and I never felt pressured to make a decision. My dress was in with plenty of time to go through alterations. Michelle helped me alter the dress until it was perfect. I also bought my veil and a headpiece through Fontana. these are all wonderful pieces that I hope to keep forever and pass down to my own children. Thanks Fontana for making me feel like a princess : )

As an older first-time bride at 47, I was extremely self-conscious about shopping for a wedding dress. The staff at Fontana's put me immediately at ease. My appointment went extremely well and I found the perfect dress for me. The alterations department sewed my bra into the dress. Once I put my dress on, it was perfect. I did not fuss with it at all. I felt beautiful and comfortable the whole day. When the reception was over, I did not want to take my dress off. Fontana's was the perfect choice for me!

The dress I wore for my wedding was the very first dress I put on. I hadn't even seen it on the rack. I showed my consultant want I liked and she pulled it for me. The only problem I had was than my dress came from a designer in Europe and it took a long time for it to come it. That made me nervous but it got here in plenty of time and everything was great.

I had a very positive experience at Fontana. Brenda was very nice to work with. We found my dress pretty much right away. It turned out beautiful, I had so many compliments on it. I had a nice experience for my fittings as well. I did go elsewhere for my veil- the ones at Fontana were very very pricey. I do agree with other reviews that the young woman at the front desk can be kinda rude.

My incredibly beautiful wedding dress, a Priscilla of Boston, Platinum collection, was bought through Fontana's. The day I went everyone was very helpful although the sales team was running a bit late and I had to wait about 20 minutes later than my scheduled appointment. I saw a nice selection of dresses but they didn't have many out on the floor so I was at the mercy of what the saleswoman showed us. She listened to what I wanted, my budget and then brought me dresses reflecting my taste. She was not pushy at all. The dress I ended up buying was brand new, only one other person had tried it on so I was going to purchase that one since I would receive a 10% discount. Since the dress was so brand new for the store, they wanted to keep it in circulation so they ordered me a brand new one and offered the same discount. I placed my order at the beginning of February and it was scheduled to come at the beginning of June. It didn't arrive til July however which made me a little nervous but they promised I'd have it in plenty of time. I had four fittings which I think was total overkill as very little needed to be done to the dress: a little taken in on the sides, a hem and then the bustle which on the day of the wedding ripped twice so my bridal party was busy with safety pins trying to fix the problem. Be prepared to wait for up to an hour for each of your fittings as that was common no matter what time of day I went. I guess it is to be expected though. Overall, I'd say the experience was pretty positive and on the day of my wedding I was absolutely thrilled with my dress.

Fontana Couture in Greenwich provided me with a beautiful wedding dress for my wedding in July 2015. I ordered my dress a year before the wedding (in July 2014) and was thrilled to have finally found my dress!! I called to check the order status some time in May 2015, and nobody could locate it. The owner, Corey, was nice enough to give me his personal phone number so that I could directly reach out to him. My dress finally came three weeks before my wedding – a little close for comfort, but it was there like they promised. I got the gown and it was BEAUTIFUL. The girls helping me with the fittings were great, and I had no issues with alterations. I only had to go back twice. I loved my wedding gown, but I would suggest asking for order updates early on so that you don’t panic like I did in that last month. In the end, I had about a month of worrying about where my dress was, but what’s a wedding without a little bit of drama?? ☺

I absolutely loved my dress! I chose a dress that did not have much in the way of sparkle on it and they helped me find a belt that could be attached to it and suggested that I might want to put crystals where buttons were on the back of my dress. When showing me dresses they stayed within the budget we had given, and they didn't push on the first visit for me to make any decisions about buying a dress. Overall the experience was a good one!

I was married in April of this year and went to Fontana's last March. I bought my dress after trying on 4 of them - I was in love. We told them that my wedding was much sooner than it was to make sure that we got the dress in time as we had read previous reviews about this place. They are very busy, and it is sometimes hard to get an appointment. However, they always treated us with respect and went above and beyond to make sure that my dress was what I wanted.

I was planning my New York wedding from California, so I only ever had time to work on my dress when I was in town. I was creating sleeves out of an extra piece of lace for the dress, and our tailor Monica was incredible. She was so quick to make adjustments and worked around my in-town schedule. She is very talented and I would highly recommend that you request her when you go in.

As long as you are clear about when you need the dress (even telling them that you need it earlier) they are helpful and friendly!

They have beautiful, fancy and high end dresses. You don't find a lot of their designers at other stores. The new store location has poor lighting. Make sure to go during the day. They aren't the most responsive. My dress came in 4 weeks later then it was supposed to. The tailor is great. He worked wonders where needed.

I LOVED my dress. I worked with Brenda (salesperson) and she was great with helping me find dresses and very tolerant when I tried on so many in a row that I hated! I also got my dress during a sale and saved a lot of money by getting the floor sample.
I found the people on the sales floor more friendly than in alterations but in the end the alterations were perfect and I had nothing to complain about. The alterations are a flat fee and somewhat expensive.
I also tried on headpieces/veils there but they were so overpriced.

I picked out a dress that was beautiful but needed major alterations up-front in order to be the exact style I was looking for. The staff, Paula in particular (I believe that was her name), was very supportive during the process of figuring out the required alterations -- she even pulled out a sketch pad to help me come up with exactly what I was looking for! When the dress came in (a little late, which made me a teeny bit nervous), it was beautiful and EXACTLY what I was looking for and had always dreamed of! The seamstress in charge of my alterations was kind, talented, and very professional. My only complaint is that the bustle broke in the middle of the reception! (Does this happen to everyone?!?) My husband sort of grimaces and pokes fun of that -- especially since he found the Fontana receipt --- for considering the money I paid for the dress, one would've expected it wouldn't have "broken" on the Big Day! So my advice to potential brides: make sure to ask the seamstress to ensure the bustle is extra extra secure! But overall, when it comes to where to find your dress, Fontana is your place!

Was tight on a budget for a dress and knew exactly what style I wanted. The saleswoman was really helpful in bringing out only what I had asked for and not trying to 'upsell' me on a more expensive dress, etc. I would recommend them for other brides and other dress needs.

I happened to find my dress here before reading reviews. I feel in love with it and was pleased that both my parents were just as excited. I went online to check what others had thought and instantly become fearfully of the arrival time. At the time of purchase the staff did inform me that it takes a minimum of 6 months for the dress to get delivered. While we did have to follow up, I will say (in defense of this establishment) that the dress arrived with ample time. I also get why they try to deliver it on the later side. I had it tailored for a perfect fit but even with a slight weight gain or loss the dress will fit slightly differently. The staff was encouraging, friendly and complimentary from the initial picking process to the final fitting. The prices are middle range and the tailoring is pricey but the new tailor does a nice job. Everyone has a different experience but my dealing were pleasant.

Overall I had a decent experience with them. Nothing to brag about though. Was a little annoyed when they neglected to call me when my dress was ready to be picked up from being preserved. The prices are a little steep but comparable to other bridal salons of this type. Would recommend to people who had a little more money to spend and don't need to be waited on hand and foot.

We purchased the bride, bridesmaids, m.o.b., and grandmother's gowns at Fontana's. They had a big selection and helped us to purchase just the right dresses for each lady. We all looked beautiful! All dresses arrived as promised with the grandmother and m.o.b. arriving within a month. They stored all dresses until we needed them. They accommodated the bride's schedule as to when she would be in town including doing 2 alterations and fittings in one day. We were unhappy that a tag said "larger sizes available", yet we were charged for that larger size (including a bridesmaid who later needed that large size decreased by 4 sizes!) They charged my credit card for alterations without my authorization. When told that the alterations would be done out-of-town, it took 4 requests to have it credited to my account.

Don't get me wrong in the end I loved my dress, but this place is a dress factory. Their work is good but it always so hectic and crowded and being that I was the bride I expected a little more personalized attention. I had to wait sometimes over 30 mins for fittings when i had appointments made.

They have a great selection for whatever style you are looking for. I was picky because I didnt want a full/big dress. The staff is very attentive. I liked dealing with Brenda the best. My mom found her dress here, it was beautiful. Her dress did come in wrong, but she ordered it early enough for it to be fixed. If you make a Sat. appointment for fittings, except to wait.

Fontana followed through but they were sometimes hard to deal with. The bridesmaid dresses were made of a material that ran easily (I had no idea because if I had I would of chosen another dress). So two of the three dresses ran but their seamstresses were AMAZING! They could fix any problem and they did. They fixed runs and they also had to re-do one of the bridesmaid dresses completely. Fontana order the wrong size (smaller size) and had to order material of the dress so the seamstresses could fix it. Well, Fontana blamed my bridesmaid and said she must have gained weight. Yikes! But again the seamstresses pulled through. I highly recommend Fontana but only because of Michele and Anna who do the alterations. Also, they couldn't steam the dresses prior to the wedding because the steamer broke so they let everyone take their dresses home only to have to bring them back because we weren't satisfied with the wringles in the dresses. However when Mr. Fontana found out how disappointed we were, he was extremely sorry and he had us bring the dresses back (the day before the wedding) and he personally steamed them himself. He was great!

Although my dress ended up coming in as ordered and they did a nice job on the alterations, we had some ups and downs dealing with the sales department. They were not great about letting me know when things came in and we ordered a dress for my flower girl months in advance and found out weeks before the wedding THEY had ordered it in the wrong size by reading the measurement wrong. They had tried to insist it was right but we found the original order slip that showed they had made the mistake. Thankfully they were still able to get another dress in the right size in early enough, but if we hadn't asked whether the dress had come in in the first place they wouldn't have let us know until too late. Also, the alterations department backs up for hours so forget about getting into an appointment on time if you make it later in the day, especially on a Friday. Some people who work there are extremely professional and absolutely help you to their best ability so I don't want to sound completely negative, but you have to be prepared for some bumps in the road.

I went to Fontana's for my bridal gown and overall have mixed feelings. They have a wide selection of gorgeous gowns, which was a huge plus. Additionally, I was able to find my gown there (a Paloma Blanca) and absolutely LOVED it. That being said, their post-purchase service left something to be desired. I was told my dress would be ready in July, by mid-August it still wasn't in. I had repeatedly called to get an ETA and was just told "it will be here next week." With my wedding in mid-September, this was an extremely frustrating experience. The dress finally did arrive and needed a bunch of alterations, so it was a little bit of a crunch for me to get them all done in time. The alterations, however, were very well done and the dress looked gorgeous and flawless. Overall, I would recommend going to Fontana's because the ultimate product turned out well, but be prepared for possible delays and frustrations post-purchase.

I would like to start off by saying that I loved the dress I bought at Fontanas--they have a great selection there and I found exactly what I was looking for.
However, I felt very disconnected from the store. I was the one who had to call to check in on whether my dress arrived (it did 13 months after purchase) and no one informed me of the move to Greenwich.
I also was very disappointed with the alterations. I had a lace dress with a scalloped hem. In order to shorten the dress the bottom of the dress was cut! The scalloped look was still maintained, but the job was not well done. Strings were hanging loosely from the dress and some were even cut uneven. Although not noticeable during the wedding or to guests--it was to me and after paying 2k for a dress and $500 for alterations you expect your dress to be perfect. The tailor was also very rude. Constantly commenting about how little support my dress had because of its low back---maybe it is the bridezilla in me--but never say anything negative about a wedding dress! It is also pretty awkward to have a male tailor.

The actual purchase of the gowns was fine, no problems at all. As for the fitting department...that's another story. At times they could be very rude, that I was embarrased for them. I felt horrible that my bridesmaids had to deal with them. They ordered the wrong dress for my Jr. Bridesmaid but failed to appologize and didn't think they did anything wrong. They made my sister in law come back 4 extra times because they didn't finish a simple hem that was supposed to take 10 minutes to complete. They made her come back the day before the wedding...
Bottom line though is that all the dresses were finished, and mine (the bride) looked amazing...

I would like to preface this review by stating that Anita Fontana made my mother's gown some years back & just 3 years ago we purchased by sister's gown from Fontana in Eastchester. We loved the experience & customer service so we returned to visit Marie our favorite sales assistant, in Feb 2012 for my June 2013 wedding. 9 months before my wedding I received an email invite to visit Fontana's new location in CT. It was not clear to me (nor other brides I have spoken with) that the new location was actually a relocation, not an addition. I learned this when calling to inquire about the status of my veil, which I was told had come in. It had clearly been lost during the move as the rep scrambled to make excuses & explain that it was in fact my hair pieces that had come in (I had saved voicemails proving him wrong & would have appreciated the truth in this situation). This was the first of many mishaps that ensued. When I visited the new shop, Fontana had cleaned house & Marie was no longer there. From that point on I did not work with the same person twice. The tailor had also been replaced by someone who is good, but does not live up to the reputation that Fontana has earned itself. I had to return 4 times for fittings (each time I was asked if it was my first), each time with a new alteration rather than consolidation. On my last fitting, Fontana staff was under the impression I was there to simply view my unfinished gown as my appointment time was incorrectly noted. The tailor, Robin, was accommodating & completed the alterations himself in under 2 hours but this is not the kind of service I expected less than a week before my wedding & from such an esteemed boutique. I love my dress & I looked amazing on my wedding day but after years of referring people to Fontana, I would not do so again. The level of service & professionalism is appalling & quite disappointing from someone who has experienced all that Fontana once was.

They treat you great when you go in upstairs and are looking for a dress. Once you give your money, I feel the service went downhill. I felt like I was waiting for a doctor's visit down in that waiting room- sometimes 25 minutes just to be in the actual room for 2 minutes. And every time I needed an alteration, I had to commute from Washington DC and they weren't very flexible about doing more at once for me. I think I had to go for 4 fittings plus the pick-up. And at every fitting, we asked if they were going to take care of the pulls on the dress (since it was mostly lace) and they kept telling us 'yes they will take care of everything when they press it'. When I went to pick it up 2 days before the wedding, sure enough, pulls everywhere. I was kind of embarrassed for them because while they were taking care of my dress imperfections, another mother of the bride was in the hallway crying because her daughter's dress was not ready and she needed it an hour.

From the first fitting forward, the salespeople and store manager did not make me feel welcome. In fact they made me feel uncomfortable and worried that the dress would not be altered the way I wanted it too. There are too many appointments scheduled at once and the 1 seamstress runs back and forth between clients. When the dress was finally done there were problems during the reception and the dress had to be altered during my wedding.

Say YES to Total Stress!!! When my daughter was shopping for her bridal gown, we looked at the reviews for Fontana and saw many unhappy customers - We thought we would give the store the benefit of the doubt. My daughter's gown was ordered in October for a June 2015 wedding, my gown was ordered the 2nd of February - promised for late April, early May! As late April approached, and multiple phone calls, we were told over and over not to worry; the gowns were on target to come in as promised. I have edited this review for lack of space and my main point was cut off! No one wants to sweat the arrival of their bridal gown! With a gown ordered in October, my daughter’s first fitting was June 2 – mine was June 4th – final alterations 3:30 pm the day before the wedding!! Talk about stress, this store provides top quality STRESS! Customer Service is terrible, and lack of empathy by the owner compounds the problem!

We put a deposit down on a wedding dress in the summer of 2014, which we then decided not to buy. The dress shopping experience there was not very pleasant, because the sales people are very pushy there. In March 2015, we went back to buy some accessories for the credit we had. There was really nothing to choose from. We finally picked a pair of earrings and a headpiece. The quality of those items is mediocre at best. The items are very cheap looking, no real silver or stones. You could go to a regular department store and buy something much nicer for a 1/3 of the price. I usually don't write reviews, but I had to on this place, because it is such a rip off. I will never step foot in that store again.

I found "the dress" one year before my wedding. (8/2/14) My mother paid in full that day. We were promised the dress by April. April came then it was excuses, then it was promised in May. Then when I called I got the run around saying that I'm getting married in October so it won't be in till at least August. Ok. August came and went. We didn't get my dress till September after my mother went into the shop and started making a scene. I made appointments for fittings that when I got to the place they said that they were behind and they only had one seamstress on and can I come back later. An hour drive to get to the dress shop and they did that to me. I got my dress a week after the date I told them my wedding was, which I never told them my rift date and thank goodness for that. After I got my dress they closed 4 days later. My dress did not fit me well at all. I had to keep picking it up where I told them it was big on me. My corset wasn't fitted enough and my bridesmaids had to keep adjusting for me the whole night. The bridesmaids were measured wrong and they added sizes onto their dresses which made them pay more for the "plus" size that they all had to take in with a tailor. Which cost them even more money. This place was horrible and if they open anywhere else or again please beware. It was a nightmare for what was suppose to be a happy experience.

I just wanted to say I was really surprised by my experience. I was surprised in a good way. As soon as I walked in with my best friend and sister we were greeted immediately by Rose and then again by Corey a few seconds later. He immediately took my information and advised Rose would assist me. I told her what I was looking for and she asked my price range which I started I wasn't sure of yet. She took me to a section and told me any of the dresses could be made how ever I wanted as I was looking for a purple dress and could be ordered in that color. At first I thought I wouldn't find a dress dye to me not liking anything she suggested as it was not what I wanted. Then she found a dress that I liked and told me we could alter it how I wanted. She was very nice and made me feel very confident the we could do everything I want. Corey worked with me on the cost and I was very pleased. He even worked with me in putting a down payment as I was not prepared to buy the dress right then.
Update: I wish that I would've read the reviews before I went into this store. After having to cancel my order because they gave me incorrect information about my dress and dealing with Margaret who was very unprofessional. I asked for a refund and Corey who seemed upset at the time stated he would get it processed. They do not use a POS system and have to put everything through to an accountantso he stated. I have called and not gotten a response and have gone there and still I am being told that I have to wait but the time frame keeps changing. It has been more than 3 weeks and I have still not gotten my refund. When I went to speak with Cory he didn't have any answers for me and kept telling me to wait and then walked away. I have still not received any call back or a refund and contacted the better business bureau.

My best friend is getting married in 10 days. She bought her dress off the rack here and all of her bridesmaids and junior bridesmaids ordered their dresses in January. They were required to pay full price the day they ordered, including alterations, and Guess what? The dresses are still not in! Fontana will not offer a refund to the girls, as their contract states "no refunds," but they have no dresses! The staff is incredibly rude and unapologetic to add insult to injury. I hope that anyone thinking to use Fontanas sees this or many of the other negative reviews and decides to steer clear. There is enough stress surrounding a wedding without this kind of nonsense.

    Zero Stars!!!

A bridesmaid in my daughters wedding was sized for a dress she was purchasing at Fontana's. The girl is a size 2 and Fontana's sized her for a size 6. Fontana's insisted on this was the size.. The dress was ordered. When it arrived the bridesmaid picked it up and asked to try it on. A male worker told her no you don't have an appointment. After several attempts to try the dress on the male became more insistent not allowing the bridesmaid to try the dress on. When the bridesmaid got home she tried it on and the dress literally fell off her!! Fontana's insisted they did nothing wrong and denied not allowing the girl to try on the dress. The bridesmaid brought the dress to her own tailor and it cost her a fortune to alter.

Stay away from Fontana's. Beside this bridesmaid, the other bridesmaids and my wife were treated horrible. Unfortunately my daughter liked the dress she picked out and decided on the dress. If she knew now how the girls were going to be treated she would of picked a different dress at a different store.

No bride (or bridesmaids) should go through avoidable stressful situations like Fontana's caused.

I paid for my wedding dress, in full, a year before my wedding. During the year, Fontana's moved to Greenwich CT and never notified me. Luckily, I heard through word of mouth. A month and a half before my wedding, I called to find out when my dress would be in and they said they'll call me when they know. I called the next week and they said they would have to call me back. Then I called the following week, and still received the same response. I tried a different approach and made my first fitting appointment with them even though my dress wasn't in and they assured me that it would be in by this time. A day before this appointment I called to confirm and my dress was still not it!! At this point my wedding planner called to scream at them, telling them in her 30 years in business she never experienced this kind of unprofessionalism and demanded an update on my dress. It was only until after Fontana was put in their place, that they were able to track my dress which would not be in for another few days. LESS THAN 3 WEEKS before my wedding was my first dress fitting. They were nasty, stuck up and unapologetic. When trying to book the remaining fittings, they acted as if I was inconveniencing them, not the other way around. Dealing with them was the worst experience of my wedding and they caused so much unnecessary stress and heartache as a bride less than a month before my wedding day. Every time I went for a fitting there was a new spot on the dress that had to be cleaned. They did not treat me or my dress with respect and I would highly recommend that bride's look elsewhere for their dress.

If I could give half a star, I would. Initially, my experience at Fontana's was wonderful. It was early May, and I needed the dress for the last week of August. (I had more than the usual 12 weeks to order the BM dress)The staff was super friendly and showed me all the bridesmaids dresses they had available. Luckily for me, they had the one I was looking for, tried it on, got my measurements and voila, ordered the dress. The lady assured me the dress should be in by August 3rd. I have yet to receive the dress, and every time I've called I've had the run around "I'll look into it, the dress should be here any day, I'll call you back in the afternoon" I have YET to receive this call back. I've called every single day and each time I get the "It'll be here tomorrow" Tomorrow comes and I call, still no dress. The wedding is 2 weeks away and I have yet to receive this dress.

All the other bridesmaids ordered their dresses weeks after I did from other bridal shops, and have already had fittings and taken home their dresses. I would stay FAR FAR away from this place, no amount of champers and cookies can save you from this UNNECESSARY headache I have gone through. I am disgusted on how they do business, and would never return back to this shop.

STAY AWAY!!! The reviews on Yelp were more realistic than any on here and I find it hard to believe that these are all curren.t I should’ve followed my instincts so I’m hoping I relieve some brides with my review. I really don’t even know where to begin but will avoid getting into detail. I have chains of emails and vm's for anyone who is interested. The dress turned out to be the biggest stress in all my wedding.
The day I bought my dresses, top service. Champagne, cupcakes pictures you name it. I bought 2 gowns, paid in cash and full when I purchased (big mistake). From that moment on I received little to no customer service. Month’s prior to my wedding I began calling and emailing asking about my dresses. The women in the store continued to tell me it was still to early and not to worry as it is common to have your first fitting a month prior to the wedding.
1 dress- I received 1 month prior to the wedding but was not ready to take home until 2 days prior to the wedding.
2nd dress-received 2 days prior to the wedding. This one however was a nightmare. I called, emailed, hounded multiple times. every time was a different story. Finally received it and it was the absolute wrong color (2 weeks before the date). 1 week prior to the wedding she promises me to get me the dress. 2nd attempt still wrong color but I have no choice but to settle and use this dress. They had no sense of remorse instead felt they did me this huge favor by getting me A dress (not the dress I ordered) days before my wedding and having it altered and ready 2 days prior. The only thing I was offered was a cleaning and storage as if I would trust them with my dresses! They still charged my card $200 for alterations without my consent.
Please note: Every time I went to the store for a fitting (at least 4- 5 times) multiple customer were complaining if not crying like I was because of issues with their dress.

I knew something was very wrong when my daughter and I kept getting the run around. It is not surprising they closed their door. The only last horrible thing that was done was blaming it all on his wife's illness, and posting pictures of her.

I am not one for writing a bad review, but I feel that it is my moral obligation to warn potential shoppers to stay away. If you need any more explanation aside from the other poor reviews, here's our story: I ordered my dress 10 months prior to my wedding with an expected arrival date in February 2015...the timing made sense and should have given us more than enough time for any mistakes or alternations. Well, in February it hadn't arrived. I called and they said it should be in by March. So, we tried again in March, but it still wasn't there. We were reprimanded by a woman (I have since forgotten her name). She said it was store policy for the dress to arrive 6-9 weeks prior to the wedding and that we were told that from the beginning (completely untrue). At that point, 9 weeks was not too far away so we decided to wait. At the 9 week mark, we tried yet again. Now our calls were being avoided so we were forced to go back to the store again. The woman told us that our dress was in transit and should arrive by the following week. You guessed it...it didn't. At this point it was 6 weeks to the wedding and I had no idea when I would see my dress. I demanded answers..I had no idea where my dress was or if I'd even have it for the wedding. The following day, I received a call from Cory, the "owner". He seemed very apologetic. He assured me that he "would personally be handling this case", that the dress would be in within the next 2 weeks and that he would give me a vail at no cost. After it was all said and done, I finally went to get my dress 1 week before my wedding. Not surprisingly, it wasn't exactly what I ordered. Cory was no where to be found and no one had heard that they were giving me a vail at no cost. Fontana completely ruined the dress shopping experience. We never got a clear answer to what had happened - did they forget to order it? Did they sell it to someone else? Upside: The dress was stunning, I just wished I ordered it elsewhere!

DO NOT GO TO THIS BRIDAL SHOP! I went in April 2013 and I paid in full for a floor model, and received a discount since it was a floor model. They told me that they will have it ready for me in a week because they wanted to send it to their cleaners because there were two little black spots on the back of it. I never hear from them a week later. I call two weeks later, they say they need two more weeks with no explanation. They told me not to worry because my wedding was May 2014. That is not the point, I bought a dress I could have walked out with and paid in full...

I call a month later, they say "our cleaner had a hear attack, give us one more month." This I still did not understand because why would it take a month to clean a dress?? I go in June 2013 to finally pick it up after work. They have it all wrapped up and tried to discourage me from trying it on. When I unzip it, IT WAS A MESS! It had water stains on the satin, the flower on the sash was ripped and it was yellowish on the bottom. They had no explanation for what happened. They actually tried to make ME look crazy and say that's what it always looked like. So, they gave me the following option... I leave with the destroyed dress that I paid in full for, or pay another $200 so they can order me a new dress. So I paid the $200. They told me they would rush order it and have it by September "so I could be at ease." I had them write it in a contract and sign it.

September came and I had no dress. I called many times explaining my situation and I was always on hold, or the owners and managers were "too busy." My fiance came in with me once and the woman who manages the front was rude and nasty to he and I about it and again made us look "crazy." I finally got my dress in October, which yes, was plenty of time before my wedding. But that is not the point. They are liars who cannot be trusted.

Trust the bad reviews you read!!!!!

Positive: The initial experience of trying on and purchasing my dress was very nice. I was very happy with the purchase, and ultimately I was happy with my dress the day of.......

However, I wish I read through some of the online reviews before going.

Negative: Similar to other reviews I read since, I visited the shop in June '12. I purchased my dress in full that day for my 3/22 wedding. I was told it would be ready early December, maybe even before Thanksgiving. I thought that was perfect given I live in Philly, and figured I could do a fitting when I was visiting family over the holidays. End of December, no dress. Called and got brushed off. End of January, no dress, called and brushed off. Many phone calls in February.

I finally saw my dress for the first time THREE WEEKS before my wedding! Not only was I so upset, I didn't have time to make another trip to CT for my fitting and had to take my dress and get it altered locally (and in a hurry!).

Here are responses I got when I asked why my dress hadn't arrived and what was the problem:
    - It's better to have a fitting closer to your wedding date (Who cares what's 'better' I was told December, and planned for that)
    - That's it's totally normal, there's no problem (yes they said being 3 months late is totally normal)
    - "You know, the weather....Chinese New Year" (yup - I was told that Chinese New Year, which occurred in Feb., was the reason my dress didn't arrive in December)

Literally, this was the most stressful and upsetting part of my entire wedding experience. My family couldn't even ask me about my dress in the weeks leading up to my wedding, it was horrible. Fontana ruined that part of the experience for me. No dress is worth that.

My only speculation is that once they had the money, they held onto it as long as possible and waiting to put in my dress order. Perhaps if you do not pay in full you'll have better luck. But, in my opinion, it's not worth it the risk.

I ordered (and paid in full) my wedding dress in July 2013 for my June 2014 wedding. At that time, I was told that my dress would arrive in January 2014. It is now mid-March 2014 and I still do not have my dress. I have called the salon almost daily for the last month and every single time I am told that there is a call into the manufacturer and that someone will call me back tomorrow. No one ever calls me back. I chose Fontana because the designer I wanted was having a trunk sale there. If I had known that the service would be this poor, I certainly would have gone elsewhere. I would not recommend this store to anyone.

If i could give all ZEROS i would. this is by FAR the WORST vendor and bridal shop experience i could have had. Dress didnt come until 3 weeks before wedding, would never show proof of when dress was ordered (which I paid 9 months in advance in full) - went to pick up my dress les then 48 hours before wedding because there was no time for alterations and dress WAS NOT READY. I spent 6 hours ensuring alterations were complete as they kept trying to give me my dress without proper alterations. 2 other brides had weddings in less then 48 hours and experienced the same issue. then they had the nerve to yell at me. RUN AWAY THEY NEARLY RUINED MY WEDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The experience of trying on and ordering my dress with Fontana was fine. I paid in full for a dress in June of 2012, and the wedding date on my contract was Oct 1st, 2013, as we hadn't booked our venue yet. During the year they moved from Scarsdale to Connecticut, and didn't inform me, which left me with a very uneasy feeling. I started calling them in mid-August of 2013 to check on the status of my dress. Each time I called, I was told that my dress would be in "next week." I even asked for a confirmation notice when the dress shipped from the vendor, and was told they probably couldn't do that. After hearing the "next week" line several times, I stopped believing them, and went out and purchased a dress at another store. Long story short, my dress did not come in by the October 1st contract date. When I went in to request a refund, they asked me when my wedding actually was, because "no one gets married on a Tuesday." I told them it didn't matter, because my contract stated Oct 1st. They have verbally agreed to give me a full refund, but as of today I have not received anything back from them.

I would highly recommend not going to Fontana for your wedding dress. The number of similar stories on the various review websites is very telling.

Buying experience and selection was great. Once I got to alterations it was as if the store had just opened and no one knew what they were doing. They forgot to order my veil and tried to pass off a torn one to replace it 4 days before the wedding. They then found another off the rack veil that I could use and would be "my gift" from them for the error in the ordering process. Well not only was I charged for the "gift" but I was not refunded for the veil that was never ordered. After many months and phone calls the work this out, the only way I could get my money back for they veil they never got me was to dispute the charge on my credit card. All was settled in the end but I would never do business with them again. It seemed that once the dress was paid for I didn't matter anymore.

After waiting two extra months for my dress, not getting the extra lace that I ordered my dress was finally completed the Friday before my Sunday wedding. GRRR! As for the bussel. All I can say is what bussel. The entire bussel strings and all cam apart. My sister had to make a make shift one out of saftypins, which did not really work either so peopleand chairs were stepping on it. Top top it off the top of my strapless dress kept on pushing down the entire night leading me to be pulling it up all night. In fact onece when my husband was twirling me the entire top fell down leaving my bare to the world.

Worst experience. They might have a great selection of dresses, but that doesn't make up for their rudeness, unprofessionalism, and lack of communication skills. I ordered my dress in January and was told they would receive my dress by June. June rolled around the corner and I didn't hear anything from them in regards to my dress. I called several times in regards to my dress. Their response was always the same...., "We should be getting it soon", "We will call the designer and get back to you", "It should be here any day now". It turned out my dress was in the designer's main store in the city and they never called to pick it up or get it delivered. Once I found that out I called fontana's. I spoke with Cory who was extremely rude to me and told me they would pick up the dress when they were ready to pick up my dress; mind you this was about three weeks prior to my wedding. In the end one of my bridesmaids called them and ripped them a new one. I received my dress a week and a half prior to my wedding and went somewhere else for alterations because they were charging a ridiculous amount to alter a dress that was custom fitted to my body. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. They made my wedding experience more stressful than it should have been.

I Just left Fontana's Bridal in Greenwich, Ct. Yesterday with them having treated me like a fool. I bought my mother of the groom dress there and brought it back after the wedding because the petals at the bottom fell off. That was bad enough, but I had also brought back the expensive costume jewelry necklace I bought because the clasp didn't hold so I never wore it and it still had the tag on it. They said when I returned it they would have it fixed. I arrived today to see the same necklace on display. The salesgirl brought out my gown and I asked about the necklace. The salesgirl said she had to get it downstairs. She brings my necklace in a bag, and guess what? The necklace on display mysteriously disappears!! But, the salesgirl swears it's not the same necklace!! So, I ask her to show me the other necklace, so another salesgirl comes over to double talk me, but never addresses the fact that they LIED! They also skirted the issue that the clasp on the necklace still doesn't hold without the safety latched after it was supposedly fixed. I am not a fool and they didn't fool me, what they did accomplish was to lose a customer for life, tarnish their reputation, and lose their integrity.

Pros: My dress was lovely, the seamstress was great and I was happy on my wedding day.
Cons: Everything else. The customer service was horrible. I was told my dress would arrive in May. But it didn't arrive until around 6 weeks before my wedding. I called repeatedly and was never given a straight answer as to why I was told May and when my dress would actually arrive. I didn't get any serious attention from them until I emailed the dress manufacturer to see if the dress had even been ordered. But even after that, I was told "you usually don't have a fitting until 8 weeks before your wedding" which quickly turned into "you usually don't have a fitting until 6 weeks before your wedding" which turned into me asking Mr. Fontana himself what day my wedding was and him responding, it's not till August. Even after I called so many times, they didn't know the exact date of my wedding when talking to me on the phone. I don't understand not being able to pull a file or type someone's name into the system to get that info and make the customer feel a tiny bit important to you instead of like a bother. My final fitting appointment was moved (it was supposed to be the Saturday exactly one week before my wedding). Two days before the appointment they called and moved it to Tuesday. I work, this was incredibly inconvenient. I couldn't find anyone to go with me to make sure the dress looked OK. Then when I was supposed to be pick my dress up 2 days later it wasn't ready. They didn't have any additional alterations to do, they basically just had to steam it and they couldn't accomplish that in 48 hours. Instead they told me I should go "get a cup of coffee" and wait 20 minutes for them to do it. It was incredibly inconvenient. I would never recommend this bridal salon. They are very nice to you when they are taking your money, but as soon as that transaction is done, they are horrible to deal with.

I ordered my dress at Fontana Bridal Salon in January for my November 7th wedding. My nightmare started when July rolled around and the DEBIT card on file was charged for alterations. I contacted the store, hoping it was a mistake, seeing as the charge was unauthorized. Only once did I receive a call from the business and at that time I was told my dress would arrive by the end of August, with still no word on the alterations refund. After two months of waiting, and many phone calls later, my fiancé and I stopped in to attempt to resolve the issues. The sales associate could not give us a definite answer in regards to either issue. At that time I asked to collect the accessories I ordered with the dress in January. These were clearly the sample items I tried on the day I ordered the dress, very USED. I have reason to believe this business took my money and never ordered my gown.

    DON'T GO HERE! Save yourself.

Fontana tried to rob me of my money on TWO dresses by charging my card in FULL without my authorization for both of my dresses which never came in. They lied to me over and over saying they would refund me which took months and threats of serious legal action. I was panicking 3 months before my wedding without a dress! I luckily found Ever After Bridal in Hopewell Junction, which only has a 3 month turnaround time. They saved my wedding by providing me with one of the most gorgeous dresses I have ever seen just in time for my wedding day. Cory Fontana should be put in jail for all of the distress that he is putting brides through. It is sickening and completely horrible. Stay FAR away!

I ordered my dress in March of 2012 with Nancy Fontana, I should have realized it was a bad decision considering how rude she was during the payment process - but I was too excited to think anything of it in that moment. My wedding was in August 2013, and in March 2013 I hadn't heard anything from Fontana so I called for two months. By June, I finally got a call that my dress was "lost". To avoid stressing myself just thinking back to it, I will leave you with the final piece of the story - I got my dress the second week of August 2013 with only time for 2 fittings before my wedding. My dress was too big, and ended up being destroyed by the end of the night because of the ill-fitting. To boot, while I was there, no on came in the room with me to help me get the dress on, or with my shoes or even offered me a glass of water in the heat.

Nice try, Fontana. You couldn't ruin my day! My wedding was beautiful even with how horrible my experience there was. Stay away brides - plenty of other bridal shops to visit.

Oh - and they deleted my previous post from Yelp - so I am reposting everywhere.

I went to Fontana's Bridal Salon (Fontana Couture, whatever they want to change their name to so they can avoid bad reviews) because they were having a trunk show on the designer, Allure, that I wanted so I went without reading ANY reviews of this place. BIG MISTAKE. My wedding was mid-September and I was told that I would have my gown by mid-August. On 6/24, my card was charged $695 for "alterations" that I never had. When I called, I spoke directly to Nancy Fontana who told me they "pre-charge" for alterations of $695 when the gown comes in. . Yep, PRE CHARGE (how weird is that given that they didn't even know at the time I would be using their salon for alterations) but I was just happy they said my gown was in and made an alteration appointment for 8/23. Well, when I called myself to confirm my own alterations appt (yes, I had to call to confirm myself), I had to speak to at least 5 different people who kept HANGING UP ON ME until finally Cory Fontana, the "owner", got on the line to tell me MY DRESS WASN'T IN. Yep, I was getting married in three weeks and my dress "had not arrived" and no one had the guts to call me to tell me. So they charged my card without my consent, without the dress being in, and then promised me a refund for the $695 alterations. I even have it in writing that they would refunding me.

My dress didn't end up coming until TWO WEEKS before my wedding which was the scariest thing that ever happened and my mother and sister almost missed my fittings. How sad is that? This is supposed to be the happiest time of your life and they ruined that. On top of everything, I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED THE REFUND. A complaint is filed with the BBB and when we were in the salon, some poor woman was waiting for a refund she was also promised!

Bottom line: DO NOT SHOP HERE. Trust the reviews below - THIS PLACE IS A SCAM.

Never in my life have I been treated so badly, especially by a wedding vendor. I started shopping in November, and went to numerous stores before I found what I thought was my dream dress at Fontana. I ordered the dress, and in March, I called the store to check in on the dress. They assured me that it would be in by early summer. Early summer came and went, so the last week of June I called and asked for an update again. The associate assured me, again, that it would be in by the first week of July. Early July then came and went, and I had tried multiple times to contact Fontana and get some information. Every time I called, they told me it would be in the following week. This went on for the entire month of July. Finally, I received a call that my dress was coming in the first week of August, and they scheduled a fitting date. The day of my fitting I received a message, that said that the dress was scheduled to come in, but never did. I was told I would be getting an update very soon, but I received no such update. I was told someone would call me to check in, and NO ONE called. My mother finally went into the store and demanded to talk to the owner. Cory Fontana came out, and assured her that the dress would be in the following Thursday. That Thursday came and went, and still no dress. I finally asked for my money back, since it was 30 days until my wedding, and they could not tell me where my dress was. I didn't even want the dress at this point, it just reminded me of this terribly stressful ordeal. The owner refused, until my father came into the store. He said the dress would be in the following Monday. Somehow he had the dress overnighted to the store to get out of giving us a refund. They showed no remorse and made no apologies. They told me that the "wear date" was September 27th (my wedding date), and legally, they only have to produce the gown by that date. DO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE. You will be sorry, these people are crooks. Go somewhere else.

I only wish to meet their tailor and have him speak to me the way he spoke to my fiancé, when she went to pick up her dress. A dress that she paid over 5 thousand dollars ahead of time. Very disrespectful staff, i'm surprised they are still in business. In a million years i would never recommend anyone to go there.

Fontana is merely a shadow of a once-great bridal salon that is now riding on its reputation alone. I strongly recommend going elsewhere!

I felt a great sense of care and guidance during the sales process, when I purchased a Paloma Blanca gown and veil. I was also sold a "replica" of a Paloma Blanca double faced satin jacket that would be made by Fontana to look "exactly" like the sample.

My fitting process was not as painful as other reviewers have experienced; I never had to wait more than 5 minutes for my appointment, and they were understanding when I once ran 20 minutes late. Seamstress Anna was a bright spot in the shop - she was able to make my a-line gown a modified fit-and-flare, which was stunning. One weird thing - we discovered after the wedding when the dress was hanging in my room that the hem was CROOKED! I doubt anyone noticed, but we paid $400 for alterations!

The "replica" jacket was finished at my second to last appointment (only 2 weeks before the wedding) and it was cheap - made of single-ply taffeta and resembled NOTHING of the designer sample I was shown when I purchased it. At the final fitting, when I told the manager I was unhappy with the jacket, I was told that they could do whatever I wanted to change it, but that basically, I owned it. Not a good feeling for $500.

After that final fitting and thousands of dollars spent in their store, the staff at Fontana stood and watched silently as my mother and I struggled to carry the dress and veil in the bags out the door and load them into our car out front. Not a wave, a smile, a congratulations or an offer to hold the door.

Finally, and what really drives me to award no stars, was the utterly USELESS bustle they provided, and assured me would not budge. Both my mother and I had contested that a single fortified loop would be enough to hold the train, and sure enough, it came down...before our first dance...during our first dance...and again, until finally my bridesmaids rigged it with safety pins. I could care less about money paid for alterations - Fontana Bridal Salon stole almost an hour of my wedding from me while we repaired that shoddy bustle. That, I will never get back.

Brides, once Fontana has your money, you are just another appointment in the fitting book, and nothing else. Beware!

As a recent bride, I can attest that this bridal salon is absolutely DREADFUL from beginning to end! Not only are they deceitful in what they promise you as a bride, but they never follow through with anything. I purchased my Priscilla of Boston gown through this dress shop for my 2007 wedding. They increase their prices, when I could have purchased the same exact gown from a Priscilla of Boston for $500 dollars less, yet they told us that we were getting the dress for 1,000 under true value for buying during a trunk show. LIE! I should have looked before purchasing the dress to compare prices, but they were so pushy and overbearing that we didn't take the time to think about looking elsewhere for the same dress.

They convince you to do the alterations at their store because "you shouldn't just trust anyone with such an expensive dress." Yet, when I went for alterations I had to drive four hours and then was told by the store manager to come back again because they couldn't fit me in for full alterations appointment (this was after waiting 9 hours in their store for them to finish the alterations). When I picked up my dress (they advised me to rent a large van and cover it with sheets so that we could lay the dress in the back without it being in a bag).

When I picked it up -- it was supposed to be ready when we arrived (four days before the wedding so it would be pressed). NO it took them another four hours to finish the alterations they claimed to already have finished before we arrived. They finally bring the dress up and it's shoved in a bag. We asked why and the woman said that it would be fine -- to take it out of the bag when we arrive home and any wrinkles would fall out. Little did she know that the wrinkles don't fall out of that type of silk. When we did arrive home and took the dress out of the bag (4 days before my wedding) the dress was a wrinkled mess. It had dirt stains all over the train, as if someone had stepped on the dress with their shoes. There were dirty finger print marks all over the bustle and black ink stains on the train because the alterations lady had numbered the tabs underneath the dress in black permanent marker for the bustle. When we called to speak with the store owner (absolutely livid) she said well do you have kids or animals that stepped on it? Are you KIDDING ME? We had to take the dress to a special seamstress who specialized in spot cleaning and cost over $300 dollars. She also had to fix all the alteration mistakes they had made.

The store owners promised that they would pay for the stain removal and mistakes -- Still waiting for that check months later. She also promised to have my dress professional cleaned after the wedding. Hasn't followed through with that promise either. When I call there, they won't take my phone calls or return phone calls. STAY FAR, FAR away from this store. Please, if I had known what I know now, I would have never, ever step foot in that store. Don't make the same mistake I did and have to stress over something that should be a joyous experience. If I had read the reviews online before going to this store I would never have bought my Priscilla of Boston dress from this deceitful place!
