Our Wedding

We had Ryan video our wedding and we could not be happier the video blew our expectations out of the water. When we first got the video my wife and I watched it 3 times in a row and got emotional every time. The quality of the video is absolutely amazing. We could not recommend Ryan enough!!

The Best!!

Ryan with Focal Point Digital Media is simply the best!

Ryan = the best. We married Sept 2010, and still re-watch our wedding video. Such high quality. I had to leave this review as we are still so thankful to him, and I'm guessing he's only gotten better with more time and experience... more options, quality, effects, music... He is worth every penny, and more!

Ryan is ABSOLUTELY amazing!!! He is incredible to work with, fast response time, super flexible, and provides the most immaculate results!! He captured everything that we could have wanted the day of our wedding and so much more!! He is very professional, yet very personable! We met with Ryan months before the wedding to share what we wanted and what was most important to us and stayed in contact as the day got closer! The day of, he was always at the right spot at the right time to capture every single moment, planned and unplanned! He really did capture not just the wedding itself, but the love that was shared that day! We are so delighted with our wedding videos from Ryan. Ryan was so easy and personable to work with. He walked us through all the necessary planning ahead of time and took care of everything the day of. He got fantastic, up close shots of things without us ever noticing he was there during the wedding. The quality of our wedding videos is amazing and he captured every important moment that we wanted to relive. He was attentive to detail and gave us tons of options for meaningful music for our highlight video. We are so grateful we made this investment! People who say "nobody watches their wedding video" clearly haven't worked with Ryan because we are going to watch this again and again! It was particularly meaningful to have a video during the pandemic because some close family members were not able to join us in person. They are delighted to be able to watch our ceremony and important parts of the reception. I recommend Ryan and Focal Point Digital Media 100%!

BEST Videographer EVER!!!

Ryan is fantastic! He is super friendly and easy to talk to. He truly cares what wedding plans you have for your special day.
I have no regrets at all having Ryan as my videographer on my autumn wedding day of 2021. While I was watching the video he made, it reminded me all the best moments that happened and how joyful I was to marry my best friend! My whole family loved watching it as well! It was definitely worth the wait!
Pictures are certainly nice to have, but watching a video really feels like you are there reliving all the moments again. The video was beautifully done! 😄 And I also loved which pictures he used for my DVD! He has great taste!

Incredible quality streaming and wonderful to work with!

Our wedding was postponed a couple times due to Covid and when we finally got to have it some people weren’t able to attend. We decided to live stream the ceremony and it was PERFECT! So many of our guests complimented the incredible quality. It made my grandparents who are in their 90s and far away able to feel like they were there.

In addition to the live stream we got a video with multiple camera views of our ceremony. It is so well done, and an amazing keepsake for us!

Bonus: Ryan is the easiest person ever to work with! 😊

We lucked out!

Ryan was fantastic! Even though he had another engagement scheduled for the same day as our sons, he worked out a plan and pulled through with flying colors. I can't think of one area that he could improve on. He even provided a very special flash drive in a box to top things off.

Such a great experience!

Ryan was super attentive and worked with us throughout our wedding planning process. He was always available to talk and quick to respond to our emails if we had any questions. We were able to have several in-person and phone meetings to go over wedding details and specific shots we wanted. The day of our wedding was a little hectic but Ryan was always there rolling with the punches. The highlight film and other videos turned out amazing and we couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Awesome videographer!

I highly recommend Ryan. Focal Point Digital Media is amazing to working with and does amazing work! You will be so glad he is there capturing the moments that you will be able to look back on and re-live! They are also incredibly easy and fun to work with during the whole process. 5-star service that has lasted 15 years!

My experience with Focal Media began in year 2005. Ryan filmed and edited my wedding video. He was such a pleasure to work with! His ideas and suggestions made the video elegant and timeless. He captured all the important components and turned it into a beautiful story of my wedding day. As I was watching the DVD with my children almost 15 years later, I realized I need to insure this precious video does not disappear due to DVD deterioration or loss. After several unsuccessful attempts to digitize the video myself (either poor quality and other issues) I decided to look up Focal Media and see if the Company is still around. After all, it has been 15 years and many businesses don’t last that long, especially in the industry today... After quick search online, I learned not only Focal Media and Ryan (the owner) was still around, the Company has flourished and now has many awards! I called the number from the website and Ryan answered the phone right away! (another rarity today). He remembered me and my wedding and was eager to help me digitize my video. What really shocked me is he still had a copy of my DVD! This is 15 years later! Again, Ryan was quick and professional with his promised service. I now have a digitized copy of my precious video that is safe, and sound and uploaded on many different storages for generations to watch . I could not be happier client and be more pleased with a service… If you are considering Focal Media for your wedding – look no further! This Company is 5-star in every aspect .

Ryan and his team are amazinggg!! This is a no-brainer!

Highly recommend!! Ryan was phenomenal from the start. He responded right away and took the time to show us several different examples of videos. He asked questions along the way and got to know us to make sure the finished producted suited us. On our wedding day I didn’t have to worry about a thing, he knew where to be, when to be there, no funny business. And the finished product... absolutely STUNNING. We’ve watched our video like 109 times, and we fall in love with it more each time. It’s definitely one of the pricier items when wedding planning, but worth every single penny!

Such a fantastic experience

Ryan and his crew were an absolute pleasure to work with, from start to finish. We always enjoy our meetings with Ryan because he is so personable. He made us feel completely at ease on our big day, kept us laughing and provided us with the most amazing wedding video we could’ve ever hoped for! On top of the professionalism of he and his crew, Ryan also was super helpful when a transportation snafu left us short on room on our party bus. Ryan was fantastic and we were very happy with his professionalism and work on our wedding day. It only took one in person meeting to review the details and a few emails to coordinate and the rest was left up to him. He worked well with all of the other vendors and was a joy to be around even during the somewhat stressful times of the day. Focal Point Digital Media is one of the best investments we made for our daughter's wedding! Ryan was absolutely amazing!!! He has a wonderful attention to detail, and sat down with us a few weeks prior to the wedding to really get a full picture of what the day would look like so he knew what to expect and could be the most prepared to capture everything that was important to us. We can't wait to see the full length video he does for us, but the preliminary theatrical trailer he produced (a 2 minute highlight) of the day captured everything we wanted to remember about the day: the love, friends & family, and emotion surrounding the beautiful bride and groom! Ryan and his assistant Levi were both pleasant and brought a sense of calm throughout the day as we knew they were capturing every beautiful moment as we lived the day to the fullest! I knew immediately that I wanted Ryan at Focal Point to be my wedding videographer-I wanted the best! And I was so excited that he had my wedding date available! Ryan was absolutely amazing to work with from Day 1 and all of the recommendations and comments from previous clients were all true. He worked with my photographer to create amazing shots for our first look and couples/wedding party photos as well as had super creative ideas. He paid attention to detail and made sure to get everything he needed to capture the day perfectly. He really got to know my fiance and what we wanted as well as our personalities. Everything was very natural throughout the day and he made us feel so comfortable and made sure everything flowed as well. Additionally, during the ceremony and reception I didn't even know he was there! He was in the background and none of his equipment was in the way-He wasn't even in any of our photos. Ryan filmed my late husband and I's wedding a few years ago. We honestly debated on whether or not to do it as our budget was tight, but I'm forever grateful that we did! Not only was it a stunning way to share our special day with friends and family who weren't able to attend our wedding, it was the most precious gift to cherish when my husband was unexpectedly called to heaven. God reedeemed my life and brought me the most wonderful man! As we were planning our wedding, having Ryan do the videography was top on my wish list! Even though we were getting married half a country away, I knew without hestitation, the investment and flying him out here would be 100% worth it! As the parents of the bride, we had the responsibility of keeping a budget for our daughter's wedding. I wasn't thrilled with the idea of hiring a videographer on top of a photographer. But, after meeting Ryan and hearing the passion he has for doing such quality work, I felt much better about it. Then, after reviewing the video last night with our daughter and her new husband, I was so glad we did it. Focal Point filmed our 2 day wedding weekend. From the start, Ryan was amazing. This was the one thing that I wanted to really spend money on for my wedding, and it was the best purchase I made! The video focal point created captured everything I wanted to remember of our wedding! Ryan and his crew really took what I was hoping for and turned it into more than I could have imagined! My wife wanted videography very badly, but I couldn't see spending a small fortune on something we would watch maybe once. Grooms are always trying to find ways to save money, and this would put a huge dent in our budget. After fighting it for so long, I finally agreed to it. This was THE BEST MONEY WE SPENT on our wedding. Our wedding video looked like it was a big screen hollywood production. Ryan and his crew can do amazing things with a camera, and are about the most friendly and laid back people we dealt with for our wedding. They were never intrusive, and helped me calm down when I started to get really nervous. After we received our wedding video, my wife and I watched it probably fifteen times, and cried each time. Videography lets you live the day over like you were just there. I can't explain what a wonderful feeling this is compared to pictures. I know something like this can be very expensive, but if you look at the work Focal Point does, you will realize why it is worth every penny. From a reluctant groom, to a very satisfied customer, Focal Point met every expectation and then some!

Ryan, is hands down the BEST videographer to use on the west coast. I know some people assume photography is enough, but put the extra dollars in and make sure you have the video- you will be so thankful you did. There is so much you won't remember from the day of your wedding or get to see how much fun your guests were having and Ryan captures it all perfectly. Your video will definitely bring tears to your eyes.

My husband and I interviewed around 10 different wedding videographers over skype since we live in Atlanta but were getting married in Oregon (at zenith vineyards to be exact). I had specifics that I wanted and Ryan listened to everything I said and did all that I wanted and asked for in the video and more... Ryan responds to emails asap and is the most organized professional in the wedding business. I wanted filters and our video to be more unique than the usual wedding video and he carried it all out fantastically. Other videographers/companies were lazy, non-responsive and not willing to listen to what we wanted.

I could write a short novel on our pleasant experience with this company, Ryan and his coworkers really are the best around. My family, friends, husband and I are so incredibly pleased with his work!

Ryan (focal point media) and team was a wedding highlight!! I was just going to have one of my friends video tape the wedding, then I came across a write up about focal point media in the newspaper. I called him immediately! After talking with him I went straight to my fiance and told I had to have him. even though he was not in our budget, he was worth every penny! He was so understanding, went out of his way to answer all my questions, give me advice, make suggestions all without ever making us feel like he was trying to sale me something. He felt like a friend and such a supporter. He listened to my outrageous ideas and didn't blink an eye. Everything was possible and was down to make our dream come true! He was so pleasant to work with and has a great sense of humor. We both felt so comfortable around him that having a camera on us felt natural because he was so delightful, easy going and funny. We had a ball with him and his team. He captures the moments you never want to forget and relive over and over. Hiring focal point and having a video of our wedding is the greatest wedding gift we could have asked for. If you want a video that is going to be 100% awesome and a VERY pleasant experience on the business end of things then do yourselves a favor and HIRE FOCAL POINT!! It's the only way to go! I don't even know where to begin! These guys are amazing!!! Breath taking work! And above all the nicest guys! He was in my dressing room and was so professional and made me feel relaxed. He was so funny and laid back! I can not wait to see the final video! I would have any one hire these guys! So responsible and professional but not stiff!

I cannot begin to express how pleased I am with our video. Ryan and Gary were so professional and friendly. They were quick to get my video done and ready for me. My biggest concern was they would be in the way of the wedding and that was not the case at all! I didn't even know they were there. Their process is flawless. I would highly recommend them. I could go on and on but I wont. :) Just know they are incredible!

Words can't describe how much I appreciate Ryan at Focal Point and his crew. They captured our wedding in the most perfect way possible. It is very clear, that after receiving our beautiful wedding video, complete with bloopers and extended reception/ceremony footage, that Focal Point is not only passionate about what they do but are truly the best in the industry. Videography is the #1 thing I would recommend to a bride as its something that you will have for a life time and is so fun to relive one of the best days of your life as many times as you want! Ryan and Gary of focal point media are amazing!! Very quick to respond with any questions you may have and their wedding videography is beautiful! They take the time to get to know the couple and really try to make your wedding video match the couples vibe/personality.

We got married down on the oregon coast in North Bend, so they are defiantly not afraid to travel!

We weren't initially going to use a videographer, but after seeing focal point medias beautiful wedding videos we could resist abs couldn't be happier with the results!!

Hiring Ryan and Focal Point to be our videographer for our wedding was by far the best decision we could have made! They did an amazing job capturing one of the best and most important days of our lives and gave us the opportunity to relive our wedding day over and over again! I waited until very late in the game to hire a videographer. I waffled about my budget but in the end decided that decades from now when friends and family are gone, I would want to have something to look back at and hear the sound of their voices and see their smiles and mannerisms. Ryan was so great and accommodating; he took care of all the details making everything so easy. During the event he was a video “ninja” catching shots and sequences of events when I didn’t even know he was there. The final product captured the essence and spirits in the air on the evening of our wedding. The first time we watched it, I could smell the sweet grapes being harvested off the vines all around us. I could feel the love and warmth of the friends and family celebrating our union like they were in the room with us again. Every year when my husband and I watch this video on our anniversary, we will be transported back to that evening, and to think, I almost passed all that up to save a dollar. Ryan I am eternally grateful.

We had the most amazing opportunity to get a smokin' deal on our wonderful photographer to capture the most special of moments of our day. So needless to say we had some money to spare. Now, most people would probably just stick that extra money in the bank for the future but after hearing from MANY other brides that having a videographer was a must, we started tentatively shopping around. We met with one company before Ryan Chaney and we knew right away we had to have him for our day! He is so personable, funny, talented, and really took interest in what we wanted for our day, not just what he thought would work best. We booked him on the spot of our first meeting!

We lived in Arizona before our wedding so we were only able to meet with him twice before the big day. We communicated via email and even after our limited meetings he interacted with us on our wedding day like we had all been friends for years and years. He and his crew were so stealth and we barely even knew they were there! We have guests to this day that said Ryan and his crew were fun to be around too! AMAZING!!!

We just recently got our finished video and in the last two days we have watched it over 20 times and each time we watch it we cry just as much on our wedding day.....He captured every little detail and every look between us that we will now forever remember. We get lost while watching it and feel like we are back there on the vineyard promising ourselves to one another. We also love seeing small details each time we watch it that we didn't even remember.

The money we invested in Focal Point Digital Media was the best money spent and the most worth it! There is no price we could put on the memories we have captured on our wedding video.

Videography was one thing that I was on the fence about for our wedding. I felt that for the expense, maybe it wasn't really worth it. We met with Ryan Chaney of Focal Point Digital Media anyway--just to see what it entailed (he was recommended by our Photographer, Chris Lewis). And let me tell you, I have never been happier about spending money!!!! The drive from Portland to Salem to his studio was quick and easy. Ryan was accommodating and welcoming from the get go. Kyle (my husband) and I loved his easy going, yet professional nature. Ryan listened to us and our needs, he has a wide variety of packages available, and perhaps most importantly, his work speaks for itself. On our wedding day he was relaxed and in the zone. He was in no way over-bearing & all was easy. When we got our wedding video, we were obviously super excited to watch it just based on our Theatrical Trailer, and the other wedding video samples Ryan had shown to us. But we were BEYOND impressed and simply WOWED by the work Ryan did. We absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE our video, and I have since said several times to my husband, "That was money so well spent!!" Our wedding day went by in a blur, but thanks to Ryan, we are brought back to our magical day again and again. When we watched it the first time, we both kept saying, "I forgot about that!!!" It was great. Kyle and I opted for the blue ray version and could not be happier with the quality. Not only are we thrilled, we have gotten several compliments from family and friends who were able to watch the "Main Event" online. Many of our family members could not make it to our wedding because they live on the East Coast, but as my aunt just said to me, "After watching your video, I feel like I actually got to go." Thank-you Ryan and Focal Point for creating a product that we will hold precious for the rest of our lives! I would hire you again in a second and will definitely be recommending you to ANYONE I meet who is planning a wedding!

Videography was not in our budget but when we met Ryan and saw a preview of his work we were blown away. We thought about how much work was going into the wedding, how many of our family members would be there – many that may not be around for our kids to meet someday, and we knew it would be worth it. It was hands down the best decision we made. I’ve never met anyone with the love and dedication to their job that Ryan has. His genuine excitement is contagious and his expertise and enthusiasm puts you at ease and brings out the best not only in you but in your family, wedding party and your other vendors. The details you stressed for months over, thinking no one would notice or appreciate, his team does – they capture every detail, intimate moment and quirky outbreak. We couldn’t believe how amazing our video turned out. Everyone who watched it had the biggest smiles on their faces and tears streaming down their cheeks. It was a better illustration of our wedding then we could have ever dreamt or described, capturing every detail and moment and featuring it in a way so pin-point-perfect to our relationship, who we are, and what made us fall in love in the first place.

Having Focal Point as your videographer lets you re-live and actually attend your wedding, witness the love between you and your fiancé the way your friends and family did and experience the planning, detail and hard work you put in come together in the wedding you dreamt of in the most amazing video that you can imagine. The work Ryan produces, the moments and memories he captures, the fact that you can show your kids the expression on their dad’s face when he said his vows, their mom break it down on the dance floor, their grandfather tear up in his toast and their great grandmother bust out a conga line, these are things that pictures alone can’t portray. Weddings are expensive brides, we all know that. You are probably wondering, "Should I really spend the money on videography? I already have a photographer why spend this amount of money for a video when my uncle can set up his camcorder in the back?" My answer is YES!! DO IT!! And your Uncle is no Ryan Chaney! When you get your video from Ryan and you watch it for the first time and then the second and before you know it you've watched it 50 times... you will realize it was the best money you spent in your entire wedding. I promise you will not regret a single cent. Ryan is the best in the business and its the biggest day of your life. Spend the money girls! My husband and I just watched our video (for the 100th time probably) for our one year anniversary and watching us on our big day in real life vs photos takes you back to the day so much more than photos. Today we received our wedding video from Ryan at Focal Point, and we are so amazed and grateful for his incredible work. When we originally considered contracting with a videographer, we struggled with whether the cost would be worth the output. However, after watching samples from Focal Point's website and reading a lot of recommendations from other brides, we decided it was worth building into our budget. From the first meeting with Ryan we felt confident about his abilities and what kind of video we would receive. Ryan and his assistant were very professional but also fun on the wedding day, not to mention flexible and creative. Completion of the video took about 3 1/2 months, and boy was it worth waiting for. The highlight reel captured so many wonderful moments of our preparation, ceremony, and reception -- it brought back all the beauty and magic of our wedding day. Watching the full length feature of the ceremony and reception showed us pieces of the wedding that we'd forgotten or missed, and gave us a new perspective on the wonderful day. The blooper reel made us both laugh like loons, and really captured some of the lighter moments of the day. The music aligned with our requests and created a great background for the video.

Videography is a pricey consideration in the wedding budget, but I can confidently say at it was money well spent -- Ryan and Focal Point really gave us the chance to experience our wedding again, and we're incredibly grateful to have this video. We give our highest recommendation for Focal Point as your wedding videographer.

Ryan did a glorious job on my daughter’s wedding video.. he was just everywhere and caught the most amazing things. I saw his demo video when we were trying to decide who to hire and I remember thinking, yea but that is probably some special once in a life time kind of thing he caught with them. We went ahead and hired him and… what he created for us was completely beyond our expectations and so much more lovely than the demo. WOW! Ryan and his assistant, Gary, were AMAZING videographers! I’m sure most brides have heard from other married people how much the video of your wedding means to you after the fact, and I think that once you see his wedding videos you will completely understand! He is the best of the best in the Salem/Portland area, and we are so happy with our choice! On the wedding day, it was so fun to have them there. They were always so courteous, and most of the time you hardly noticed they were there unless they were making you laugh. They are so professional, talented, artistic, and have thee best equipment. Focal Point was one of my absolute favorite vendors, and I would absolutely recommend them 110%!!

The moment for every bride will come when she gets to answer this question... "Do I have videographer or not?". I for one, have never debated this. I KNEW that having video of my wedding would be my most treasured item. And that has absolutely been the case. Photos are amazing and important too, but video captures the MOMENTS. It captures the feelings, it captures the incredible love and its true what they say about not remembering anything from the wedding. My wedding was a week ago, and I already don't remember much. If you do ANYTHING, please MAKE room in your budget for video. It should be the first thing that you budget for! (even above the dress!!!)

Focal Point Digital Media was absolutely beyond my expectations. Ryan was perfection. They are so wonderful to work with and they think of all those little details so you don't have to. Half the time I forgot that he was even there filming. If you were to ask me on a scale of 1 to 10 how satisfied I am with Focal Point and my decision to have video done, it would be a 100. My theatric trailer was done 5 days after my wedding, and it made everyone cry. Even people who didn't know me. HAHA. That is how good these guys are. My trailer right now is my most treasured item, and I have probably watched it 1000 times already. They are the best of the best. It truly doesn't get any better.

My advice to every bride will be "Do NOT have your wedding without Focal Point Digital Media. Other then marrying my husband it was the best decision I ever made."

Videography is perceived as one of those "luxury" wedding items you don't really need. However, when the big day is done, all you will have to remember it is photos and maybe a video. Now, the video could be raw shaky footage that looks like the Blair Witch Project from some in-law, or you could have a professional video with music, amazing shots, great sound, and a product you will be proud to share (and even show off) to friends and family.
If you are going to have a professional, why not have the best? Ryan and Focal Point are the best (and they have the awards to prove it). I was very hesitant to pay so much for something I was not 100% certain I needed, but the payments are broken up into 3 equal sums which makes it far more manageable. Hind sight, my husband and I are so glad we made the investment, and we would consider having good video of our wedding just as important as having good photos.
On my wedding day, they arrived on time, were un-intrusive, and very professional. They worked well with our photographer and were able to compose some shots that looked amazing on video but only took a few additional seconds during the formal photos (which we did before the ceremony). If I had not had a videographer I would have missed: my husband's anticipation for our first look, him actually crying as I walked down the aisle, our look while hearing the each others vows (we were both tearing up, and that is not something we do easily), a recording of the toasts, some of our best friends breaking out in some mean dance moves at the reception, and then sitting on our couch watching our new wedding DVD and happily tearing up all over again.
I recommend Ryan and Focal Point 100%. They are professional, quick to respond, and worth every penny.

Hello Brides-to-be! This time last year, planning my 8/27/11 wedding was really starting to ramp up... My sis-in-law strongly recommended we look into hiring a professional videographer, something that was low enough on our list at the time that it was at risk of either getting cut or being left to a family friend to tape just our ceremony. She shared that even after 22 yrs of marriage to my bro she still watches her 1989 VCR tape of their big day AT LEAST once a year. We didn't have any personal recommendations for a vendor, but upon reviewing several of the usual sites, it was clear Ryan Chaney at Focal Point Digital Media in Salem was 1 of THE top in Oregon.

I was a bit reluctant at first about working with someone outside of Portland but if anyone else is thinking the same, don't! I deliberately held off writing a rave review for Ryan and Focal Point until we were 100% through the process with final product in hand-- I guess there were enough of our other vendors who we hired that let us down in some form (some small, some big), that I was probably waiting for a shoe to drop, ie: "This Ryan guy is too good to be true, it's probably only a matter of time until he lets us down too somehow..." In hindsight, I had NOTHING to worry about-- in fact, Ryan and FOCAL POINT WOULD BE THE 1ST VENDOR I WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE GETTING MARRIED! Not only did Ryan and Gary exceed my expectations every step of the way (not an easy task!), but they went above and beyond their jobs-- giving us great advice about reception flow, our big entrance, fun dances-- all despite our having already hired a DJ/MC as well. And some of our favorite photo settings/poses were even created by our Videographer, not just our Photographer.

Bottom line, I am admittedly not the easiest to please so I research a ton, ask a lot of questions and provide detailed lists, especially when I get the sense they're needed-- with Ryan, no such list was necessary because HE was the one taking copious notes at our consultation-- such a relief and breath of fresh air!

** FIND A WAY TO INCLUDE VIDEOGRAPHY IN YOUR BUDGET AND MAKE SURE RYAN AND FOCAL POINT ARE AVAILABLE ON YOUR DATE-- if not, you may seriously want to consider changing it, he & his team are THAT good and will be such an asset to creating and capturing your BIG DAY as special as possible for you & your honey to re-live over and over whenver you want (In fact, in the 3 weeks we've had our DVD, my hubby has suggested we watch it even more than me!)

Finally, not only is it such a joy for the two of you to re-live and see all that you inevitably missed (no matter how hard you tried to be in the moment!), your family and friends will absolutely love Focal Point's professional & innovative work just as much, ESPECIALLY if they were unable to be there like my husband's 93-yr-old Grandmother-- we can't wait to share everything with her when we fly down to see her in CA in a few weeks!

I absolutely cannot say enough good things about Ryan and Focal Point Media. Ryan was a great pleasure to work with, very laid back and funny and personable, but also very professional and obviously knows his stuff! We had a tight schedule between the ceremony and reception, but Ryan was perfectly calm and very organized, handled it perfectly. He was also great about suggesting various shots (and caught some amazing moments when I had no idea he was even there! hello disco moment with my dude of honor...), but also kept us very comfortable and relaxed (I was worried about feeling like a "deer in the headlights" with so many cameras around).

Then of course we were absolutely blown away by our wedding video!! Classy and artistic and captured "us" so perfectly. I really don't know how Ryan does it, it's amazing. And it's just so awesome to be able to see "your day" again (and again and again!)...I am so so so glad we had Ryan as our videographer.

I know that hiring a videographer may seem like an extravagance. I promise, when the day of your wedding comes and then is gone in the blink of an eye, you will be so glad that Ryan was there to capture all the moments for you to relive later! Video is a completely different feel than photographs, you NEED both! I remember being SO HAPPY on my wedding day that Ryan was there to capture the day for us, and that came back tenfold when we watched our video afterwards. It's amazing. HIRE THIS GUY!! You will be so so so glad you did.

To be honest my husband and I were on the fence about getting a wedding video at all; after-all it is pretty expensive. If you are in the same situation let me tell you the video is HONESTLY the best thing we paid for, for the wedding. You get to relive and savor the day with your now husband or wife, which went by in a whirlwind and you might not even remember all of it. Ryan is great to work with, professional without being standoffish, nice, easy going and always got back to me. We got our video in the length of time that he promised and we are so happy with it. My husband is really happy we did it too, he has watched the video more than I have!

Ryan did an amazing job with our wedding video. Watching our video was like reliving the night again. WOW!!!! Ryan and the guys at Focal Point Digital Media are truly artists at what they do. Our Love Story video was perfect and made everyone at our wedding get to know my husband and I a little better and even had a little laughter with a blooper! Ryan's work that he does prior to the wedding was great as well. He got to know us and that is what makes his work so special. As we began planning our wedding, we continuously heard two comments from couples who had gotten married before us. "The thing I regret most from my wedding is not hiring a videographer." OR "The best decision we made when planning our wedding was hiring a videographer!" After hearing so many of those comments, we knew we didn't want to have any regrets and we wanted to have a videographer at our wedding! Now, after our wedding we can say hiring a videographer and specifically Focal Point was definitely one of the best decisions we made for our wedding!! We would do it again (and probably add more to our package!) in a heart beat! Their work is amazing and our video is something we will cherish forever!! Ryan and Focal Point are SUPERLATIVE! He connected with my kids, was unobtrusive during the festivities, and everyone was at ease, so the video was completely natural. In addition, the final product was artsy, and beautiful, and most of all professional. As a parent of the bride, when planning a wedding the videographer seems too expensive, and you might have the idea that photos could be substituted instead. DON'T DO IT! If you're going to have a video...this is the guy to do it! He does a quality job all the way, and it's no wonder he's the best in the state!!!

We just received our wedding video in the mail today and let me just say it is better than anything I could have imagined! Ryan and Focal Point Digital Media have been hands down THE BEST vendor to work with from our wedding. He takes time to get to know you and establishes a meaningful connection with his clients. You're not just a number, a wedding date or a sale, you're a real person with real dreams and plans. He made us feel like we were always his top priority and this can not be said for many wedding vendors, that's for sure!

My husband and other family members weren't sure at first about doing a wedding video, and it seems to many like a luxury. Unfortunately, many of those I know that have gotten married scaled back on video and photography first to trim the budget down. The best advice I can give to any future bride or groom is that while all the details matter now, all that matters AFTER you say I do is you and your spouse, and the memories you have from your special day. After seeing our video my husband and I both feel that this is the best money we spent on our wedding. It's something we will have and treasure forever, and I think video shows so much more that photography simply cannot.

Like so many other brides, I thought that hiring a Videographer was something that we couldn't afford. Looking back now - I don't know how we could have afforded not to hire our videographers. It's something we'll always cherish. I know our video will be something that we watch often. It really is true when people tell you that the day goes by so fast & that you miss so much! I am so thankful to have the footage to look back on. In addition to that we are able to share our day with our loved ones who were not able to be here due to various circumstances. My husband and I just recently received our wedding video from Ryan at Focal Point. Absolutely AMAZING! I was crying in the first 30 seconds. You think you will remember the moments and that pictures will always be a great memory but a video can make you feel like you are living that special day again…and again…and again. However many times you want. You get to see parts of you own wedding that you missed. I can show my kids one day and when I am 80 years old I can live it again! Don’t make the mistake of passing up on videographer for your special day. Absolutely worth the money it costs. We found Ryan after watching a friend’s wedding video that he had produced. It made the choice very easy. Once we started talking with Ryan I was just that much more impressed. He was so patient with me and incredibly informative on options and really knew what he was talking about. We exchanged multiple emails and no matter what request I had Ryan seemed to act like it was no big deal and came through with everything. I just couldn’t have been more pleased with the choice we made. He even stayed till 8pm on a Friday just so we could come see our final movie that night! He is a great person that makes a great wedding video and I would recommend him a thousand times over! The least I could do to repay him is tell other brides how happy we were with our experience!

From day one, I was treated with the upmost respect and professionalism by Ryan at Focal Point Digital Media. He worked with me and my fiance to find a package and price that suited our budget and needs without compromising the quality of our video.

We met with Ryan a week before our wedding to go over the final details. We left that meeting knowing we were in good hands. He truly understands the business and the importance of not missing anything and also suggested some things that we incorporated into our wedding.

When the day came, we hardly noticed Ryan's presence. He was able to capture the entire event without being in the way at all. He was very professional and courteous to everyone in attendance.

The videos we received were very well done. The case it came in was great quality, including the detail he put into the packaging, DVD cover, and DVD menu. The video itself was amazing and exactly what we had asked for.

I can not say enough about the quality and professionalism of Ryan and his staff. We just got our wedding video and I have already watched it several times. Wow! What can I say about Ryan...He truly is the best in the Portland metro area in his field...We met with many different videographers...Who were considered top in this field, but as soon as we met with Ryan (which turned out to be our final meeting) we were instantly hooked...He truly has a talent for capturing emotion like no other person. I would say don't let the fact that he is in Salem throw you off! Go see him at his studio! It will be well worth it to view his movies (they truly are movies!) in his studio on the big screen! His trailers the week after your event are also the most fabulous thing ever! The day goes by so fast and somewhat like a whirlwind! Its hard to consintrate on anything in particular, but to have that small amount of video so soon is amazing!

Ryan was amazing! He captured our wedding without disturbing the event. The video is perfect. We especially LOVED the preview. We actually got to watch it on our honeymoon which was super cool. We both totally cried. I can't imagine a better video! Ryan at Focal Point was FANTASTIC! Ryan and his assistant were unobtrusive, professional and really made our video feel special. There are videographers that charge less buy no one we looked at could compare to Ryan's skill editing the final product (and we looked in Vancouver, Portland and Salem). He spent a lot of time with us before the wedding to make sure he captured the aspects of our day that were most important to us. Our first two dances were the most important items we wanted to capture and if you could see the video... Oh my gosh! It makes my heart race just to think about it, and I'm the groom! He made us look better than we ever thought we could look and the finished product was fantastic.

Ryan was worth every penny we spent! I didn't want to spare any expense on the video of our one wedding day, and Ryan made it PERFECT! First of all, he was never pushy or obvious while taking video at the wedding, I never remember seeing him! He worked well with my photographer, I was told later, and the video was phenomenal!! We watch it often to remind ourselves of that day, and every wonderful moment was magically captured. The music and editing to the images he captured are blended and put together so amazing, it's almost more beautiful in the video than it was that day! Ryan is a GREAT choice for videography! Ryan is a hardworking individual. I appreciated his focus on capturing as much of our wedding day as possible. He was great to work with and made sure to understand our itinerary for the day and sought our opinion on how he could best fit in. He has a great deal of experience and was present with various cameras for all the important moments in an unobtrusive way.
The finished DVD of our wedding came out great; Ryan's editing skills and creativity with music effects and transitions were are excellent. The DVD contains some tightly edited scenes as well as some longer takes of dancing and various activities during the evening. The picture and sound quality are top notch and the video is certainly a treasure to my wife and me.

Hiring Ryan & Gary for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made! As a bridal consultant, and having worked with Focal Point in the past, I knew as soon as I was engaged that they had to shoot our wedding. Thankfully they were available and we immediately booked! Not only are they two of the nicest guys in the wedding industry, they are equally talented and offer superior videography. In addition to our wedding video we had Ryan shoot our Love Story several months earlier and he did a phenomenal job of adding extra touches so that the final product was exactly what we envisioned and our guests loved the slideshow that we presented during dinner. We cannot wait to see our video this spring and know it will be amazing! I am excited to continue referring Focal Point to my clients knowing they will be thrilled with the entire experience.

Focal Point Digital Media is the ONLY videography studio that I would trust with my wedding. Simply put, they love weddings and they love capturing weddings! I always felt like the most important bride in the world when I was with them (even though I know they had many other brides they were working with at the same time). They were so organized, professional, supportive, and talented. They also filmed my sisters wedding two years ago, and everyone who sees the video starts bawling with happiness. It is hilarious, but feels SO good to know your wedding was captured so perfectly and beautifully, even grown men cry when they watch it! They are the best!

I loved working with Ryan and was completely elated about our video. All the testimonials on his website can give you an idea about how awesome his work is. It's been 2 1/2 years since our wedding and I still cry every time I watch it. The music , the imagery and the drama created by his production and editing is fabulous. My husband is not a sappy man but he could not contain himself the first time he watched it. Ryan was so responsive and professional despite his busy schedule as he has become a very popular vendor. I would recommend him to any bride to be!
