Richard is the best!

I couldn't be happier with Richard and his team! Not only is he the nicest guy and super professional, but his flower arrangements are stunning and his prices are so reasonable. Do yourself a favor and book Richard for your wedding or next event!

The Best Florist in NYC

Richard is truly the best florist to hire if you know you need flowers, but don't want to pay your first-born. His storefront and website are very lowkey, but don't let that deter you from having incredible flowers at your event. He got our vibe perfectly and was super easy to work with at the trial to change around colors and flowers to get what we wanted perfectly. He's not going to send you a manicured look book, but has plenty of examples of arrangements and has an unbeatable price!

Absolutely Wonderful

I absolutely loved working with Flowers by Richard. Richard is such a wonderful energy! He really listens to what you want and helps work with you to keep your vision alive and stay in budget!

The flowers and décor all looked amazing on the day! So many people complimented our gorgeous arch. I wanted a more simple bouquet but he made sure it was still exquisite! Thank you so much Richard!

I absolutely loved working with Richard. The flowers turned out SO beautifully and the pricing was very reasonable. I had a few back and forths on what I wanted and he listened and executed perfectly. I would definitely hire him if you can!

Richard has been amazing throughout the entire process of our wedding. He is so easy to work with, an absolute professional and really helped us stay on budget without compromising the look of our wedding. He absolutely nailed all of our arrangements. We loved our flowers!

Richard came highly recommended by a friend and I cannot say enough about how wonderful he is...he took our vision and made it happen, all within our budget, on time, with zero issues...AND he is just a lovely person to chat with on top of all of that! I can't recommend him enough!

Absolutely beautiful arrangements

Richard and his staff are incredible. The arrangements were absolutely beautiful and Richard truly does care for each couple. He made my fiancee feel very at ease after a fruitless search of many flower vendors. The wedding arrangements he created for us were absolutely gorgeous and he spent a great deal of time with us designing our arrangements to our preferences. Touch of beauty and elegance

We were not too happy to have to search high and lo for a florist and deal with the high expense of it but Richard truly made it so easy and stress-free. He was amazing to work with throughout the process and was very happy to work within our budget. We just told him what we wanted and he delivered beyond what we expected. He also had a brilliant idea on how we can display flowers near our ceremony altar. It turned out beautifully. Our guests could not stop remarking on all the flowers and especially how stunning they were at the Reception. He truly made our wedding feel elegant and dreamlike. We would definitely recommend Richard for your wedding and feel lucky we found him for ours!

If you are in the NYC area, then you know florists can quote you an exorbitant amount for flowers. I had sticker shock especially when it came to wedding florals but luckily I found Richard! He does beautiful work and his prices are so reasonable. During one of our first meetings, he even came up with cost saving idea for me that did not take away from my vision. Richard is amazing and patient and very talented! If you go to his shop in person on a Friday, you'll be able to see real centerpieces and bouquets and they are just lovely! You also get to see mock-ups of your florals which was greatly helpful. Seriously, just hire him! You'll be very happy on your wedding day!

Richard made the most beautiful bouquet for my wedding. When we started working together, almost 1 year prior to the wedding, I had an idea of incorporating orchids into my bouquet. He was totally fine with it and gave me his opinion on the type of bouquet that I should get. We told him our budget and he made sure to stay within that budget. As the wedding approached, I changed my mind about the kind of flowers that I wanted. Richard was super excited about my choice of roses and peonies. He made the most beautiful bridal bouquet I could imagine. I am incredibly grateful and I hope to re-order a bridal arrangement with the same flowers for our 1-year anniversary. We loved working with Richard. He is incredibly willing and trustworthy. We are absolutely grateful!

Richard was a dream to work with, his flower arrangements were absolutely beautiful for our wedding. We had a small issue with the color of the roses in the bouquets which I noticed after delivery, but after a quick call to Richard it was corrected immediately no questions asked. As an NYC bride on a budget I was glad to come across Richard who really worked to give me exactly what I wanted with out going over my specific budget. Thank you so much Richard!!

I’m so happy we chose to work with Flowers by Richard for our October 2017 wedding. Richard was a pleasure to work with, encouraged me to send him photos of arrangements I liked, offered great suggestions, and the final product (18 high and low table arrangements, bouquets and additional centerpieces) were all stunning and his prices were extremely fair for his high quality services.

I loved Richard the minute I met him. He was no pressure, He was flexible. He listened to what we wanted, made some suggestions, showed us examples, etc. Walking into his little store is usually amazing as he is preparing flowers for opening nights on Broadway or for some affair someplace. He was dependable. Everything showed up on time and extremely reasonable compared to what I have heard of others. I will forever go to him for any of my future needs.

Flowers by Richard did a wonderful job on our wedding flowers. Richard was very easy to work with, reasonably priced, and a talented florist. I gave him an idea of what I envisioned and a color scheme, and he truly brought my vision to life. He was able to accommodate the budget that I gave him, and even threw in a couple of extras, like flowers for our wedding cake. I would highly recommend Flowers by Richard!

I went to Flowers by Richard for my NYC wedding this past May. Richard was so friendly and understanding of my budget. i gave him ideas of style bouquets and centerpieces I wanted, and he made them more beautiful than I could have imagined.

I also had some last minute changes for my ceremony due to rain and he came up with great ideas on how we can decorate the ceremony on short notice.

My friends and family still keep telling me how beautiful and tasteful the flowers were!

I would highly recommend Richard.

I initially did not think I could afford flowers in my wedding budget. I was going to instead buy wholesale flowers through Costco. However, I was convinced otherwise and I am so happy I did! I found Richard and explained to him the dilemma I was in. I had a low budget and a vision to pull off. Richard became my fairy godfather. He created beautiful arrangements and even threw in extra details. I am so grateful to him! He worked with me throughout the whole planning stage and every time I spoke to him made me feel like family. I highly recommend Richard to all couples planning a wedding. Richard was the florist for our July wedding, and did an excellent job. I was not looking to spend a lot on flowers, as they were not that important to me. Richard worked with my budget and created beautiful centerpieces and bouquets, with not a lot of guidance from me. I made the centerpieces myself and had Richard and his team put them together and add the flowers - they turned out better than I had imagined. Richard was so sweet and super easy to work with!

Flowers by Richard was so easy to work with! I handled all communication with them over email, with just one phone call to make the payment. I had a hard time finding a photo that exactly matched the bouquet I had in mind, but I shared a few photos with a description of what I liked about each. From that information, they were able to create a beautiful bouquet that was exactly what I was looking for. Their delivery was prompt and all bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres were gorgeous.

I had a very particular bouquet in mind and Richard was able to recreate what I showed him in a picture to a t! The flowers were also wrapped beautifully when they showed up at the hotel. If you are looking for a florist in NYC for a special event, Flowers by Richard is a great choice!

We loved working with Flowers by Richard! He definitely knows what he is doing, but is willing to listen to what you want and don't want for your big day. The bouquets, centerpieces, and aisle decorations that he prepared for our wedding were spot on, and we are so, so glad to have worked with him and his team. Wonderful! Thanks so much to everyone at Flowers by Richard for their hard work preparing and setting up the flowers for our wedding. Everything was gorgeous and corresponded to exactly what we wanted. Richard is so different from many of the other florists we spoke to: he allowed us to decide what we wanted and offered gentle suggestions, while other florists told us what we were "expected" to do and didn't seem too concerned with what we wanted. Richard was so flexible and listened carefully to what we wanted. Thanks for that!

I found Richard and his shop through great reviews on Wedding Wire and Yelp. I was still pleasantly surprised by how easygoing and how accommodating he was. We met twice to discuss the kinds of flowers I wanted after I sent him pictures (of arrangements using both real and fake flowers). With his suggestions, we decided on bouquets and centerpieces that looked better than I had imagined.

We also asked for a special remembrance piece where I only specified the kind of flower I wanted. Richard came up with the rest - we ended up getting a beautiful table arrangement of Asiatic lilies.

We also asked for centerpieces that doubled as aisle decorations. As expected, a few of those centerpieces were knocked over and broken during the ceremony but Richard and his guys prepared for this. They had brought extras so our reception had centerpieces on every table.

It was no fuss, no muss. The delivery of the flowers to the venue was on time and the flowers all looked fresh.

I used Flowers by Richard for my August 16th wedding at Trump SoHo. The venue initially recommended another flower vendor, which I found to be extremely overpriced. I was able to find this vendor through wedding wire and was thrilled after having the opportunity to meet with Richard. He was always responsive to my emails / phone calls, flexible with last minute additions and changes, and provided the most beautiful flowers for our wedding. Richard set up a table display for me and my mother to see at his office a month before the wedding and we were blown away with the quality and quantity of flowers that he was able to provide us at such a reasonable cost. The purple hydrangeas mixed with roses and floating candles were GORGEOUS and we received so many complements from our guests on the wedding day (people were actually arguing over the flower arrangements to be able to take them home). The bridal bouquet and bridesmaids flowers were equally beautiful and I could not be happier with the service from Richard and his staff. I highly recommend this vendor, your floral arrangements will be wonderful!

I have to admit, I lucked out with this vendor because they're right next door to my apartment. However, I couldn't be happier with the service from Flowers by Richard. Richard and his staff were all amazing - they gave me some great ideas, created a sample arrangement and created beautiful centerpieces and arrangements for the church on the day of my wedding. The attention to detail was really appreciated! If you want great flowers at a great price, I'd recommend using Flowers by Richard!

Richard was super easy to work with! Despite the countless emails I sent him regarding certain changes I wanted, he took note of everything! The entire process was just stress free. Come our wedding day, all the details for each flower arrangement I ordered were on point. And the reception flowers were just amazing! Everyone wanted to take them home. Lush, colorful and just eye catching, everything was perfect...without breaking the bank! Highly recommended!!!

Using Flowers by Richard was one of the best decisions I made for my July wedding reception. The table arrangements were stunning. I went with half tall, half low flowers at the tables, with predominantly full roses in mostly pink and peach, with a bit it yellow and white, just perfect for a mid-July wedding. Richard offers good value too and worked with my budget. He was always there if I had a question or concern about my flowers. He is empathetic and understanding of what a bride goes through, and he helped ease my stress, which at times was off the charts.

Flowers by Richard was on the recommended vendor list from my wedding venue, and I'm so happy we decided to use them! Richard and Mike were absolutely fantastic in the planning stages of the wedding -- thoughtful, attentive, and very prompt with responses. They also had the most reasonable rates of any florist I talked to. We had a very small wedding - only 35 guests - and some florists wouldn't agree to a job and budget that small. Richard and Mike though were happy to provide their services, and the flowers were gorgeous. Even our event manager commented on how beautiful, colorful, and summery they were. Flowers by Richard even threw in bonus items like flowers for our cocktail tables and the cake table. I would recommend Flowers by Richard to any bride in a heartbeat!

Absolutely spectacular, exceeded my expectations - made my wedding beautiful...

Can't say enough kind words about my experience with Richard. He was so flexible with me, and created the most beautiful arrangement's I've ever seen - using an early spring garden theme. (Off-white, shades of light pink/blush and a pop of orange...)

They really were works of art - and guests couldn't say enough about the centerpieces, 'statement pieces' in the hallways and the bridal bouquets.

One tip: create your look before you meet with him so you can make sure your vision comes to life. He's so flexible and creative ... and budget wise, cannot be beat.

Our flowers for our wedding were absolutely GORGEOUS! Richard was amazing putting together our initial conversations, inspiration photos I sent him, worked within my budget, and turning it all into the most beautiful arrangements, bouquets and boutonnieres I could have ever imagined. Richard was the florist for our September 14th wedding. From day one, he was friendly, professional, affordable and just a true delight to deal with. He listened to our ideas, responded to every email and made our wedding day look exceptionally beautiful with the flowers he designed. Our theme color was white and royal blue and our flowers matched perfectly. Everyone commented on how beautiful they were and our guests even took some of them home. We highly recommend him and will continue to use Richard as our regular florist from now on.

My husband Nick and I got married over Labor Day weekend in Brooklyn, NY. When we first started looking for a florist - we were finding that so many florists in NYC charge you a fortune for almost no flowers and seem annoyed with you when you mention that you'd like to do flowers on more of a "budget." I found Richard on WeddingWire based on his excellent reviews - I met with him and he was kind and immediately reassuring. On our wedding day, I was in total awe over all of the beautiful flowers we had for the VERY reasonable budget Richard charged us. Honestly, I could not have been more pleased with the way the flowers turned out. Richard was prompt at answering emails during the process, read all my thorough and over-the-top-detailed emails, and used them to create a trial centerpiece that was completely my taste. On the day of the wedding, his team was on time and set up promptly and without any issues. Everything was done even BETTER than I expected and the flowers were far more voluminous than I would have assumed I'd get for the price. My bouquet and centerpieces were amazing and Richard did these two large centerpieces to frame our ceremony that were unbelievable. I can't thank Richard & his team enough! You should absolutely consider using him as your NYC florist!! Thanks Richard!

They did an amazing job!! I loved my bouquet!!! I had white peonies with some pale pink roses, and my husband boutonniere was a little light purple peony. I absolutely recommend them, you will be pleased.

Being from out of town, we thought we were going to have everything we needed. The morning of our wedding, we realized what we forgot...the flowers. I called Flowers by Richard in panic mode, explained the situation, as our wedding was very small and intimate we didn't need much. He asked our colors and assured me they would be ready when needed. When we got there, he had prepared a beautiful bridal bouquet which exceeded my expectations by far!

Richard was fantastic. Every email and meeting were organized,responsive and professional - qualities that were not as evident with the other florists we spoke with. Richard really listened and followed through perfectly on our requests, andwas super flexible on last minute changes. Our flowers were stunning.

Richard was one of the first vendors I selected and helped me stay sane as I had to change venues 3 different times and face a snow storm the day after our wedding. He is extremely upbeat, friendly and professional. When I showed some pictures and said I wanted dark, dramatic and structured, Richard got it. I trusted him to create large ceremony arrangements and entry table flowers based on his know how and expertise and he did not disappoint. Flowers arrived early, were fresh and beautiful, had great impact and gorgeous. Richard is a pleasure and I will miss dealing with him! He's fun. Highly recommended.

Richard, Mike and the entire team at Flowers by Richard helped to make our day extra special! Flowers By Richard did a wonderful job with our wedding flowers! At first I put flowers low on my priority list because I wanted to allocate my budget to other areas of the wedding. I soon realized how important good flowers can be to create the overall look. I read many good reviews for Richard but it wasn’t until my husband and I met with him that I knew he would be our florist.
Richard had many great ideas and was incredibly flexible as my vision changed over the months. Although open to my suggestions, he wasn’t afraid to offer his professional opinion either, which was great when I was overwhelmed with all the planning details. Whenever I called with a question, Richard could quickly find his notes on me (which were always meticulous) and we could easily sort out any of my concerns. Whenever I spoke to Richard I always felt more calm and confident that our flowers would be beautiful. He is great at inspiring confidence and calming nerves.
The day of, our personal flowers arrived on time, in perfect condition, and were exactly what we had discussed. The reception was wonderfully decorated. In addition to the flowers being great, Richard dealt with some last minute substitutions with ease. And the best part of the whole experience is that Richard’s prices are extremely reasonable!

Richard and his staff are amazing. They were very flexible due to last minute hurricane-related changes and put together the most stunning arrangements of flowers for our bouquets, centerpieces and ceremony decor! Guests are still raving about the selections. At about half the price of comparable NYC florists, I highly recommend Richard for your all of your wedding needs!

Richard did a beautiful job with the flowers for our wedding. I knew I wanted all white calla lilies for the centerpieces and arrangements and all mini calla lilies for the girls' bouquests. I gave Richard a tiny bit of guidance at our first meeting and within minutes, he pulled together a mock up of exactly what I had in mind, only better. He added a few touches that really made our centerpieces come to life. He helped me decide to add some darker calla lilies and picasso calla lilies to my bouquet. He points you in the right direction, without being pushy and really listens to your vision. Richard is a very sweet and personable man. I had a wonderful time working with him, and the best part is that he is very, very reasonable, especially for Manhattan. I couldn't believe what he was able to deliver on the budget I suggested. The arrangements were all beautiful and elegant with tons of calla lilies. The service was also outstanding. I accidentally forgot to order a bout for one of our groomsman, which I only realized once the flowers were delivered. Richard made sure an extra bout was waiting for us at the venue before our ceremony started. I would highly recommend Richard!

Trying to find affordably prices flowers in the NYC area is a nightmare. I thought a manhattan vendor would be too pricey and looked in Brooklyn and New Jersey - I was shocked to find that just my bridal bouquets well exceeded my entire flower budget. That's when I stumbled upon Flowers by Richard on Yelp. Not only did Richard respond to my request for a proposal right away, he worked within my budget and even threw in a couple small freebies. He gave me an amazing deal on my whole package and the flowers turned out beautifully. Richard was my main point of contact - his business partner, Mike would also respond to any inquiries if Richard was out of the shop. I would highly recommend Flowers by Richard to anyone looking for great flowers at an affordable price.

Richard went above and beyond for my April wedding. The flowers were fresh and stunning and truly exceeded my expectations. Richard was incredibly responsive and after just one meeting was able to create the vision I had in my mind. He understood exactly what we wanted and was willing to work within my budget. I had the BEST experience with Richard and his company, Flowers by Richard. Richard is fantastic!! He was willing to just do my chuppah and ceremony flowers for a very reasonable price. I was planning on doing my own centerpieces and he was willing to work with me so all the flowers would look cohesive. When the centerpieces I tried to do myself failed, he took everything over at the last minute and made everything look wonderful. I cannot recommend Richard enough!!!

I’ve always considered flowers to be an important part of the wedding day décor but I was almost resigned to the fact that I could not afford to have any. So I worried and briefly entertained the idea of doing flowers on my own but was fortunate that after weeks of scouring the internet, I came across several reviews that suggested Richard works with a tight budget so I called him up and made an appointment.
I was impressed that he spoke with me directly, even though he is the owner. I was a little nervous that he couldn’t see me that week but figured, he’s good, so of course he is booked. Richard could tell I was a little worried and he assured me that the timing was sufficient and asked me to send him all my info (budget, flowers needed and pictures of flowers I liked) via email which I did.
To my delight, he responded quickly and was able to help me come under budget since I paid cash. It was hard to wait for our sit down appointment but I reminded myself that I saw his work online already (great photos and reviews on yelp and Wedding Wire) so I accepted his proposal and dropped off my initial payment in person so I could see the flower shop and meet Richard briefly. I found Richard to be extremely personable and got the vibe that he truly enjoys the work he does.
Brides, do not be put off by the small and crowded store! Its probably the reason why Richard can be flexible on price and work with you on budget. I later needed to add additional tables after more guests were added, and Richard worked with me and ended up not charging me for the arrangement at our sweetheart table…this is on top of the deal offered for Wedding Wire users for a complimentary throwaway bouquet and complimentary bathroom arrangement.
I sent Richard tons of “inspiration” pictures via email and I was sure I was getting annoying but Richard handled it all in stride and actually seemed pleased that I knew what I liked and didn’t like. Richard made great suggestions and had a mock up of the arrangement ready for my first appointment with him and made impromptu changes showing me other flowers as we spoke. Most importantly, I felt he was able to listen to me and quickly interpret my style and make it better than what I could even think of. He took his time during our appointments and didn’t make me feel rushed even though I was a “client on a budget”.
Although the dahlias I wanted were not in stock at the time of my initial and follow up appointments (because of the season) I was happy with everything I saw throughout the process and Richard assured me that he’d have them in time and he did. On the actual day of my wedding I was truly blown away. All the flowers were gorgeous and they were bountiful. They were better than the samples I was shown and better than I could have imagined.
Overall, I was extremely pleased with Flowers by Richard and wholeheartedly recommend this florist to other brides. Although I emailed Richard fairly last minute and only secured my actual sit-down appointment with him just one month before my wedding (which is crazy in terms of any kind of wedding planning) I wouldn’t change a thing.

Richard is truly amazing. He put together the most fabulous centerpieces, alter arrangements, etc. for my wedding. Richard himself is such a great person and talented florist/artist. He made beautiful arrangements out of green and ivory hydrangeas, orchids and roses. Because they were so gorgeous, I caught myself getting distracted and just staring at the flowers during the wedding. Everyone was so impressed by the flowers, and I overheard a few guests surmise that they cost 3 times more than they did. He provided excellent value (no nickel and diming) and responsive and professional service. Overall, he is just a fabulous person with a fabulous talent. Highly, highly recommend.

One word - fabulous! I knew exactly what I wanted my flowers to look like. I went through several sites and really liked the samples of Richard's. I emailed him introducing myself, what I wanted, and sent him a few samples. We set up an appointment not too long after that and he knew exactly what I wanted. We met up one final time a few days before the wedding just to finalize matters and to get a sneak peak of the centerpieces.

The day of... I was floored. Loved, loved my chuppah, how the entire sanctuary of our synagogue looked. And I was just as pleased went we went to the venue - the cocktail flowers were cute and he did an amazing job on the petals on the cake table, and setting up the centerpieces. I'd recommend Richard in a heartbeat; super nice, excellent skills, super flexible!

This was absolutely my best decision! Richard was absolutely wonderful, he stayed within my budget and had a lot of great ideas.It didn't take us long to decide to work with him and he was easy and courteous to work with. He is truly an artist and loves what he does. He is very passionate about flowers and his taste in decorating is impeccable. Overall, it was very positive experience. Highly recommended.

Richard was a dream to work with!

I do not know much about flowers, but described the best I could what I was looking for and he intuitively knew what I was looking for. The arrangements he made were absolutely stunning as were the bouquets.

Pricing-wise it was a great value.

I would highly recommend working with Richard on your wedding day.

Richard is so extremely talented. He's a joy to work with and delivers on a great final product. He knows his florals and is creative and very helpful. He based the florals from our wedding from discussions and pictures I emailed him. He even made a bouquet up on the day of our wedding for my husband that we needed for the ceremony, free of charge. Richard will work with you based on your vision and budget and his service and product are exceptional. Meetings with Richard were a pleasure; his floral shops smells of fresh flowers; he decorates to the season; and you must meet his mascot fish! I found Flowers by Richard from all the rave reviews on Wedding Wire. I am so pleased I went with him!

I met with him twice, had a few email exchanges on ideas and "packages" and I changed my flower options twice (minor - and with notice.) And... he was still the calmest human being ever. Not to mention, a value for the beautiful creations he made on my wedding day. My chuppah was gorgeous, bouquets were stunning and the floral arrangements were exactly what I wanted.

Richard is personable and someone who really wants to work with his customer. He even sent me an email a day after my wedding to congratulate me. Totally thoughtful and gracious. So happy with his service and personality.

He envisioned what I couldn't

My husband and I hired (Flowers by) Richard because they were a slightly smaller vendor and was prepared to work with my vision. The first time I went there, we discussed types of flowers, their placement, and the possible vases. It was a pure investigation, giving and taking, learning and adjusting. Richard was always trying to interpret the vision, infer what I meant with certain descriptors, and extrapolate as to what kind of flowers would convey that specific mood. The second meeting, Richard brought out vases with roses in them – I was crestfallen, this wasn’t what we discussed, but he explained that this time, we were to PLAY. We worked together, experimented with colors, textures. I wanted a couple spring flowers like peonies mixed in with winter flowers like scabiosas, amaranthus, and dahlias. Our wedding colors were moody wine reds, muted blush pinks, silvers, whites and golds. The overall theme was a fistful of high contrast dark flowers. Richard really delivered – even I HAD a hard time envisioning what I THOUGHT my vision should be like – because it wasn’t entirely wintery. It had a mix of spring in there so I could never find the proper reference pictures but Richard delivered. He was playful, experimental, exactly who I wanted a floral artist to be. I’m so grateful for him. The wedding’s mood was largely set by his artistry.

Flowers by Richard was amazing value for great quality flowers and I recommend his services to others looking for a wedding florist. Richard was very responsive and was able to execute on the vision that me and my wife wanted for our special day. He was fairly hands off so you will need to be quite clear in what vision you want for the day, but he was able to take that and run with it. He was great.

Richard was great to work with, he really knows what he is doing. I didn't give him much direction as I don't know a lot about flowers but he produced exactly what I had envisioned. All the arrangements he did were beautiful and he did a great job with my cake as well - he added tons of flowers to our naked cake. He made amazing tall centerpieces that everyone wanted to take home but couldn't because they were so elaborate, but all the short ones he did for us were gone!
