For 2 years my daughter tried to get married. Covid had other plans. They stayed in touch and when it was time the brought it to life. We were so pleased with there creativity and stlye.

Gary and Michael with Flowers by Gary were beyond amazing to work with. They took our vision for what we hoped our wedding would look like and elevated it to the next level. Aside from being prompt, responsive, easy to work with, and seamlessly coordinating with our other vendors, Flower by Gary listened to our needs and wants as a couple and provided a comprehensive, budget accurate, and stunning floral displays at our wedding that our guests raved about. 10/10 and would completely recommend!

Snow in January, who knew?
With a January wedding date, we knew snow and cold weather was a possibility. And it was! But Gary and Michael were amazing for the whole wedding experience. They took the weather in stride, and both the church and reception venue looked beautiful! Gary and Michael were able to take my ideas and turn them in to the best flower arrangements. My wedding was November 13th 2021 and was able to have peak leaves. The mostly green foliage I wanted with some roses looked amazing with the trees. I highly recommend using Flowers by Gary because they are great and a small business within North Durham.

Long story short: get Gary and Michael to do your wedding flowers. I originally wasn’t planning on doing flowers but once I said I would I was lost at what I wanted. I walked into their shop and I was simply blown away at what they had created based on our pre-meeting phone call! They had an example of my bouquet and it was exactly what I didn’t know I had wanted. But even better on the day, I cried when I saw how all the flowers turned out throughout the whole venue! My bouquet was perfect and the way they decorated the venue was absolutely beautiful. I cannot recommend them more for not only their flowers but their kindness and encouragement throughout the wedding planning process.

Simply the “icing on the cake” to the day
From the moment we walked into Gary & Michael’s shop back in February until the day of the wedding this past weekend, our journey with Flowers by Gary can be summed up in one word “calm”. In the craziness that goes into planning a wedding that calm voice of Gary on the phone became such a respite in the chaos. The finished presentation on the wedding day was what completed our daughter’s two and half year journey from engagement to marriage. Mother of the Bride
I have never been happier than yesterday at our daughter’s wedding. It was everything she wanted and more. Michael and Gary graciously moved our date three times due to the pandemic and never flinched when it happened on Mother’s Day weekend or when we had to add some extra dinner tables at the last minute, needing additional decorations. Great Experience!
When my son and his fiancé started planning there November 2020 wedding, they asked who to see about doing their wedding party flowers. Immediately, I thought about my friends Gary and Michael of “Flowers by Gary.” From the first meeting with Gary, the flower planning was a delight. They worked with us through the pandemic and the change in the wedding date to March 2021, without hesitation. They were professional, knowledgeable courteous and most of all “KIND” working with us through this major change and hectic time. Their love for flowers and the importance in choosing just the right colors and design to complete our vision was awesome. They took our suggestions and used their expertise to design exactly what the bride and groom wanted for their special day. The day of the wedding, the delivered flowers were amazing, the design, color, freshness and overall beauty of these “Works of Art” made everything perfect. Not only did we love them, but many of the wedding guest commented on how beautiful they were and asked who had created them. Since most of the wedding party was from out of town and unable to take their flowers home, to my delight, I was given most of them. Five days later, I am still enjoying their fresh beauty in my home, thanks to my friends, Gary and Michael of “Flowers by Gary” I hope everyone reading this review will choose to make them part of their wedding or special occasion. Planning a wedding during a Pandemic was not easy. Gary and Michael helped make my daughter’s special day PERFECT. They were so helpful and patient. Michael and Gary were so great to work with! From start to finish, they were incredibly patient and attentive to my floral needs/vision!
Not only do they have flowers, but they also had several items we were able to rent from them--which made things so convenient when setting up the centerpieces for the tables! The tiny details that they used to make my wedding special, truly helped tie everything together!
Additionally, when asking to modify my flowers slightly last minute the day before the wedding, Gary was so helpful and patient--knowing my vision just describing it without knowing the proper flower-types!

My Daughter’s wedding, Flowers by Gary
The Wedding was on Halloween, so of course, Gary made a bouquet with Blood Red roses and Black ribbon and black feathers., matching corsages and boutonnières. The deep red also matched the Groom & groomsmen’s ties and vests. The whole ensemble was perfect.

Holy Cow!! I can not say enough wonderful things about Gary and Michael! Their work is INCREDIBLE and I could not be more pleased with the results!! I had no idea that floral arrangements could look so incredible, but THEY DID! They captured everything my husband and I wanted and were very reasonably priced. Beautiful bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages

Flowers by Gary exceeded our expectations! At our first meeting, they were able to understand our vision we were going for and made awesome suggestions. They communicated with us so well and had a great payment plan for our flowers. The day of, the flowers were so beautiful and lively! The flowers looked amazing and really was more than we could ever ask for. They also provided us with extra decorations like terrariums and candles to enhance the flowers. I would 100% recommend them to anyone and would definitely use them again! Thank you so much Flowers by Gary!! (We don't have any pictures because we just got married this past weekend)

Absolutely amazing!
Flowers by Gary was one of my favorite vendors! Before the wedding I was able to take a sneak peak of the centerpieces and venue décor. Talk about water works! The beautiful flowers in the centerpieces that my husband and I personally bought we AMAZING! You absolutely should select Flowers by Gary as your florist for your special day or occasion!

One of the main things I didn’t want to focus on for my wedding was florals. I’ve generally never been a big flower type girl but oh my gosh my expectations were blown!!!! Flowers by Gary is an amazing experience, Gary and his partner were very professional team (creative and business). Gary understood my creative visions with few words/visuals that I provided and executed the day of extremely beautiful! I don't even remember the flowers being brought in, it was so smooth and headache free that I couldn't imagine working with anyone else! My wedding planner already worked with Gary before so it made things even smoother, both of them worked it out the details and made the magic happen. Price was very reasonable, affordable and the monthly payments leading up to the wedding day were great to have as it wasn't a burden all at once, extremely stress-free. Thank you, Gary! You do amazing work!

Greenery galore with pink, wine, and copper accents. Perfection!
We got married on 12/29/18 in Durham, NC. We are over the moon with how our evening went. I met with Gary and Michael to go over my vision, picked out some flower from which they offered several options , and had no idea what they would look like. THE FLOWERS BLEW MY MIND! My bouquets were insanely beautiful, they also went out of their way to find copper accents (votives and holders). Everything was perfect. They totally understood my vision and made it happen. I would highly recommend flowers by Gary for any occasion !

Gary and Michael provided the flowers for our wedding ceremony and the floral arrangements/decorations for our reception. They exceeded our expectations in professionalism, work quality, and beauty of floral arrangements. During our consultation in which they attentitively listened to our vision for this day, they provided great feedback on flowers within our budget and made recommendations without being pushy. They ensured our flowers and decorations were perfect on our wedding day and looked the way we envisioned inside our venue spaces, which included them adding extra flowers and touches free of additional charge. It's clear their priority is to serve their customers and provide an experience and product that is completely satisfactory. I will continue to go to Flowers by Gary for all of my floral needs and would highly recommend them to any and everyone. I knew I had nothing to worry about with them taking care of our flowers on our day!

Beautiful and vibrant flowers thoughtfully and artistically designed for wedding bouquets, table decorations, corsages, boutonnieres and accent pieces that perfectly captured my daughter's color scheme and my budget; an easy payment system; clear and timely communication; and a friendly and professional demeanor--I could not be happier with Flowers by Gary. When the setting changed from outdoors to indoors (thanks to Hurricane Florence) and from 5 pm to 2 pm they made adjustments and brought extra trimmings that helped ensure a gorgeous indoor wedding. They had to travel about an hour to the wedding venue but did not let a hurricane stop them from delivering exceptional service. Without one iota of hesitation, I highly recommend them!

You can't go wrong with Flowers by Gary! From beginning to end they were fabulous, and for our wedding that says something because we had to love our wedding inside and up 3 hours due to Hurricane Florence. Gary and Michael were with us every step of the way, from communicating to making sure the flowers were finished and perfect a little early in the event of a power outage, and the last minute [drastic] changes did not phase them a bit. In a matter of days, they completely re-tailored the flowers to fit our new needs and even brought a little something to surprise us. The flowers were beautiful and we couldn't have imagined a better florist! Flowers by Gary is top notch!

We loved working with Gary and Michael on our wedding flowers! Our wedding planner (Jennifer at KYAE -- also great) recommended FBG, and they did not disappoint! Gary and Michael were very helpful in crafting the perfect flowers for my wedding day. I had NO idea what flowers I wanted (outside of baby's breath and Carolina blue flowers of some kind), and they listened to my theme/crafted a plan that turned out GORGEOUS. Seriously, I got so many complements on my flowers. Gary and Michael were also very responsive and professional throughout the process.

Our experience with Flowers by Gary was amazing. Our incredible planner, Jennifer with Knot Your Average Events, took us there, and from the very beginning, Gary and Michael carefully listened to our vision and helped us to plan every detail of the flowers. When you work with them, you don't feel like they are just providing a service, they actually care about you as people and want to make your vision come to life. They are passionate about this! Gary and Michael were there for us, and went above and beyond multiple times. For example, I was really worried about linens and Gary's advice was super helpful (which he provided so generously!). I also called on the day of the wedding, because I had completely forgotten table numbers! I called Gary, and I was really stressed, and he said not to worry, that he had some that we could use and would bring them (Again, this was above and beyond generous). Then, Michael and Gary arrived with the flowers, and I just cried of happiness, because they were so beautiful. They made the most gorgeous flower crown! Of all the details at the wedding, the flowers really took it to the next level, and everyone was talking about how magical they were. I could not recommend Gary and Michael more. We love them!

Flowers by Gary did a wonderful job at designing and creating beauftifuk flowers for our wedding. Meeting with them was a great experience and they were fully open and in board to our vision and the photos we brought them. I had to make servers changes and add many things such as additional corsages and such, but they were always accommodating and so kind. We had many compliments from guests about the beauty of our flowers and in the future I hands down would count on any wedding in the hands of Flowers by Gary as being goregous! You are well taken care of with this establishment as they’re creativity, customer service and willingness to help are exceptional!

I asked the rep at the hotel where we celebrated our 40th anniversary and vow renewal for vendor recommendations. The first florist she recommended was "Flowers by Gary". I found several other florists on the internet and planned to interview them all. However, we went to see Gary and Michael first and knew we need not look any further! They prepared seven table centerpieces, a vase of flowers for the guest book table, and decorated an arbor for our vow renewal. THE ARRANGEMENTS WERE ALL FABULOUS and many of our guests commented on them. And, even though I contacted them a few times to ask questions... and even added red roses to the arrangements fairly close to the event... they always responded quickly, professionally, and never made me feel anything but welcome. We also felt their prices were extremely reasonable. We love these guys and we would highly recommend them for your special event! The photo below of the vase (not the centerpieces) was taken at home several days AFTER our party as we have not yet received those done by the photographer. Still beautiful!

I wish that I could give Flowers by Gary 100 stars! They are so deserving of more! As soon as I got engaged, I knew I wanted to do business with Flowers by Gary. Gary and Michael were amazing to work with from beginning to end! When we first met, they helped me with ideas about what would look best with my theme and did everything they knew how to make my visions come to life. It really helped that they had worked with the venue before - it made picking and choosing a breeze! I was able to remain pretty hands-off after that, which is the goal for any bride wanting to remain sane! And when I did have questions, they knew exactly who I was and were so easy to communicate with.
These gentlemen know what they are doing and I had no doubt that they would make sure everything was PERFECT for my wedding day. And, it was! They set up everything just the way we had discussed. I was so pleased with the way it all looked and we received so many compliments on the floral arrangements. Gary and Michael are amazing and if you are in the Triangle, you should consider them for any and every event! (Side note: during the stress of preparing for my bridal portraits, I COMPLETELY FORGOT to inform Gary when I needed my bridal bouquet for the photos. Gary is truly an artist and his flower arrangements were incredibly beautiful. From the flowers in the church to those at the reception, we could not have been more pleased. Additionally, all of our guests and the country club staff commented on the beauty of the arrangements and requested to take them home.

Thoroughly enjoyed working with Gary and Michael! These guys were so knowledgeable, and so helpful, I never worried about how the flowers were going to turn out at the wedding. You can count on them to do whatever they have committed to doing, always in the customer's best interest. Bride on a budget? They worked with my daughter and me, honestly and fairly. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous!! Outstanding job, esp since, initially, some of the flowers did not arrive due to hurricane Harvey. Gary was reassuring that he would have beautiful flowers for us. Fortunately, the original order arrived and the arrangements and bouquets were stunning. Gary delivered them to the church as promised. He and Michael were very responsive to all emails and and phone calls. I would highly recommend them for all your flower needs

Having Gary and Michael to work with was a joy from beginning to end. Their creativity with beautiful options customized for our wedding and reception were perfect. My flowers for everything on my wedding were absolutely beautiful and also what he did for my center pieces couldn't have looked any better. He does amazing work and very affordable. Amazing! My flowers on my wedding day were beautiful. He recommended a wreath to hang in my ceremony room which turned out to be perfect and more elegant than I even expected. He also was my planner in helping with rehearsal and tell I g people when to talk frown the aisle. He has an amazing team and will most defiantly be using them again in the future!!!

We knew from talking with Gary that the flowers would be beautiful but they went over the top; when we walked into the venue and saw the arrangements on the table we knew we had picked the right florist. It honestly looked like it came from a magazine. Their professionalism and amount of care they took to understand our vision was amazing. Their attention to detail from the centerpieces to the mens boutineers was more than we ever expected. They are the best!!!

The decorations were even better than I imagined. I also liked how they take the time to understand your vision for wedding. I cannot say enough good things about Flowers by Gary. My flowers were everything I had imagined and more. I had a fairytale wedding that would not have been possible without Gary. Months later I still get a lump in my throat and watery eyes when I think about first seeing my bouquets that day. Everyone at Flowers by Gary is friendly, easy to work with, honest, professional, and it is clear that they have high standards of integrity. I live out of state and chose Flowers by Gary solely because of online reviews, which you can trust. I would consider my bridal bouquet to have been a unique, somewhat complicated design with a very specific look that tied everything together from my dress to the music and venue, helping set the stage for the look and feel I wanted for the entire wedding. Flowers by Gary is not just a florist, they are floral artists. I would highly, HIGHLY recommend them for any wedding.
