Gorgeous, customized design beyond expectations

Our wedding was small and non traditional but I still wanted beautiful florals to liven up the space. Karen was responsive and flexible. She listened to my needs and gave us a quote that was fair and customized to what we needed. I appreciated that I didn't have to order "off the shelf" like at other florists for smaller events. She still created a custom plan for our special day. When my partner decided to wear a color last minute that did not match the original color scheme, Karen and her team pivoted a week before to add in highlights so that the florals complimented his suit accents. I was blown away by the results - every flower I mentioned that I loved was incorporated. Everyone at the event kept complimenting how gorgeous the flowers were. They were beyond all of my expectations and a highlight of the whole event!

I cannot recommend Flowers at 38 highly enough for anyone planning their wedding flowers! From start to finish, Karen was absolutely amazing. She guided me through the flower selection process, ensuring that everything stayed within the price range I was comfortable with, without compromising on quality or beauty.

Karen truly brought my vision of Elegance & Romance meets Old-World Charm to life. She absolutely nailed the flower selection and color scheme, getting every detail perfect. My bouquet? Beyond words—exactly what I dreamed of. My bridesmaids' bouquets were equally stunning, and the reception flowers, especially the fireplace arrangement, were incredible. Every piece was more beautiful than I could have imagined.

Beautiful Wedding Arrangements

Phillipa and Karen immediately understood my vision and delivered gorgeous florals, altar arrangements, and table pieces for our wedding. The variety and interest within the bouquets was so fun and I kept noticing new varieties throughout the night. The arrangements felt special and unique- and were full and made a statement. Look No Further – The Most Enchanting Floral Design Ever

Look no further - these are truly the pros. We worked with Karen at Flowers at 38 to bring our vision of an enchanting, intimate wedding to life. Karen was incredibly patient as we changed our color palettes for three different spaces.

Flowers at 38 is very transparent on pricing from the beginning so there are no surprises - they develop an initial contract with you and then you adjust as you add or subtract things. Karen also did a super helpful walkthrough with us as well and offered her expertise and design eye when we asked for help. I also appreciated how she was never trying to push anything on us - in fact, she even had some suggestions in case we wanted to save on costs. For example, she suggested repurposing some of our ceremony arrangements to our reception area (we put some in a bathroom and I swear it was the most beautiful thing ever!).

The flowers were just breathtaking - they were so fresh, so beautiful - the arrangements were perfect -- it is art. In our ceremony space we had a broken arch that meant a lot to us because the flowers in them had special symbolic meaning to us. Karen gave us everything we asked for - it was more beautiful than I could have imagined. I fell in so much love with the floral design at our wedding, I had a hard time leaving the space when it was over (and I still miss it).

Flowers at 38 also has an incredible, hardworking team that are truly part of your event (but do everything so swiftly and quietly you don't even know they are there). They break floral arrangements down, repurpose, and then take everything away at the end of the evening.

At first glance, investing in floral for a wedding might seem expensive, but the attention to detail, design, fresh flowers, and labor that went in to all of this, makes this investment with Flowers at 38 well worth it.

Also bonus: if you don't want to or can't keep your flowers, they will donate what they can to shelters!

Gorgeous floral designs

Philippa and her team are the best in the business - they’ve done both our wedding and another family member’s! They helped to make our floral vision a reality and everything they put together looked gorgeous. They were great to work with and offered wonderful insights and suggestions that helped really make things pop. We were in awe of how beautiful it looked and cannot recommend them enough!

Exceptional wedding florist!

Philippa was absolutely wonderful to work with! From our first meeting until the wedding day, she made the entire process of choosing our floral arrangements so fun and easy. She is very responsive and really listened to my vision and made my wedding dreams come true! On the day of the wedding, when we decided to take photos during the surprising snow storm, she created a second bouquet for me to take outside in order to preserve the one I would walk down the aisle with. Her warmth, kindness, and love for what she does comes out in every way and I would love the opportunity to work with her again in the future! She truly goes above and beyond!

Fall flowers with Philippa

Philippa and her team are excellent. Our wedding flowers were all we could’ve wanted and more. She was able to take our vision and turn it into something stunning. We were so happy with how it all turned out. She was able to work quickly when we realized were short two boutonnières to ensure we had all we needed. We highly recommend her! Everything I wanted

Philippa did such an amazing job. She's very knowledgeable and will guide you based on your budget. I LOVED my bouquet. Instead of a standing arch we had flowers arched on the wall. It was amazing. I loved all of it and can't wait to see it all again when I get my wedding pictures.

Wonderful Service!

I worked with Karen from Philippa Tarrant and it was a breeze. I did not have a large budget for flowers and therefore my needs were pretty basic but they really nailed it. Since it was a relatively small order we were able to get everything done via email. I sent her photos of what I liked and the outcome was perfect. For my centerpieces, we had candles and eucalyptus and she provided the mix of eucalyptus and matched the cost I found online. Delivery was also very easy.

Stunning flowers at a reasonable price

My now-husband and I ranked how we wanted to spend money on our wedding . . . and flowers came in at the bottom. Our wedding planner recommended Philippa as someone who could do a lot with a little. We were very upfront with Philippa that we were looking to be frugal and wanted only a simple white and green color scheme. Our only special requests were that the bridal bouquet and groom's boutonniere incorporate rosemary and calla lillies. Otherwise, we left it up to her. Our floral displays ended up being exquisite and luxurious. (We ordered two large displays for the church; one large arrangement for the entry to the reception; small table arrangements; various corsages and boutonnieres; and an absolutely adorable flower crown.) She's obviously capable of crafting the most over the top florals any bride could dream up, so I'm very grateful she used those skills to give us such lovely flowers.

Wow, just wow!

Knowing very little about floral design, I came in with a few photos and Philippa created magic. From my anemone bouquet to coordinate with my black and white dress, to the pink flowers (including cherry blossoms), Philippa made the wedding beyond magnificent!

Philippa and her team are the BEST

Philippa and her team (Danny, Fernanda, Rachel, Karen, Sean, and MORE!) are the best in the business, no question. I wasn't totally sure what I wanted my wedding day flowers to look like (specifically, my chuppah) and Philippa hashed out every idea she had until we came to the right design. Philippa and her team are unapologetically themselves and hilarious to boot. They are so committed to their clients and always ensure that everyone is happy. On my wedding day I couldn't wait to see her and her team and give them huge hugs! My bridesmaids all took their bouquets home at the end of the night because they couldn't let go of them! I did the same, my bridal bouquet was absolutely perfect- size, shape, color, and actual flowers and greenery. If you can dream it, Philippa and her team can make it happen.

Amazing experience with Philippa Tarrant!

When my wedding planner and I met with Karen for our first meeting I knew she/Philippa were the perfect choice for my wedding. Karen helped take my ideas and mold them in to a vision. I had an idea of what I wanted for my wedding day but was unsure how execute those ideas.

They did sample arrangements for my tasting at my venue (which I highly recommend! Thanks for that Karen!) I was very excited with what I saw! Karen and I had a phone call after I saw the arrangements to discuss everything about them and make any tweaks for the big day.

When my flowers showed up on my wedding day I actually cried. They were EXACTLY what I wanted. I kept telling Karen “I want a fall feel”, well she and Philippa delivered! My mom is a horticulturist and I knew she may be critical of any flowers I chose....and I have to say my mom is still raving about the centerpieces and bouquets! I would hire them all over again! ❤️

The centerpieces for our 50th wedding anniversary, held at a contemporary art venue, were spectacular. Unique, elegant, and artistic; unusual calla lilies and deep purple orchids. Karen has an expert knack for striking, tasteful, contemporary design. Prices were reasonable; service was excellent. I would use this firm again in a heartbeat.

I can not thank Philippa enough for the gorgeous flowers that she did for our wedding. I was looking for something that was creative, elegant, and not your usual wedding flowers. She completely delivered! The flowers were everything that I was hoping for; from the chuppah (in which she incorporated some heirloom lace fabric) to the dining tables, to a floral sculpture on the escort card table, everything was done with purpose and thought. The bouquets and boutonniers were contemporary and perfect for our very formal winter wedding. Thank you so much Philippa, you were wonderful to work with!

Philippa is a phenomenal florist and person. I highly recommend her, as she helped me create my wedding day vision and flawlessly executed it with her team. We had met with another florist in the area prior to meeting Philippa, and Philippa’s recommendations for my vision and venue setting were much more helpful and elegant. She is really great to work with and very responsive, even when on vacation.
The quality of the flowers, bouquets, and flower wall was amazing, all were gorgeous, and we received many compliments. You can also rent candleabras and other style accessories. My family and I were very happy with Philippa.

We had an excellent experience with Philippa. She was very familiar with the Women's Museum venue and knew what would work there. She was always responsive, even when she was on vacation and best of all she was super flexible. My daughter was concerned about budget and ensuring that the arrangements were understated. Philippa did an exceptional job and navigated what we wanted, what our daughter wanted and what her in laws wanted. The final outcome was beautiful. I was the opposite of a Pinterest bride. When my partner and I sat down to talk to Philippa about flowers for our wedding, I hadn't narrowed down a color scheme, a style, or even types of flowers. Instead of being fazed or frustrated, Philippa cheerily began pulling up pictures and asking really helpful, concrete questions that helped us clarify what we wanted. The designs Philippa came up with were not only stunning and unique, but brought a visual coherence to our ceremony that was just gorgeous. She's pretty awesome.

We absolutely loved the flowers for our wedding done by Philippa Tarrant. They were more beautiful than we had imagined. I went to meet Philippa and she spent about an hour we me talking about what our wedding was going to be like and what we had in mind for flowers. She made several great suggestions for looks and flowers we wanted to use. She also had several books of her work to look through. We ended up having an interesting conversation about how she became a floral designer among other topics. She was very personable. Her work definitely stood out from other floral designers. I could tell she loved flowers and what she did. As our wedding drew near, and changes to our flowers needed to be made, she was both flexible and accommodating. Many of our guests commented on how gorgeous the flowers were. Philippa Tarrant is a true artist. What she added to our wedding with her floral design was special and memorable. We can’t recommend her highly enough.

Peonies! Ranunculus! Snap Dragons! Philippa's designs were the absolute most beautiful, most stunning floral arrangements I have ever seen!!! The flowers at each dinner table completely pulled the space together, and set a spectacular spring tone for our May wedding. And the bouquets were simply GORGEOUS!!! I received countless compliments on how wonderful the flowers looked. Philippa came recommended to me from a friend who had the pleasure of working with her in the past, and listening and acting upon my friend's advice was one of the best decisions I made throughout the planning process. I had never been so confident that everything would be perfect than I was after meeting with Philippa in person. She listened to my ideas, and made fabulous floral recommendations…it was a very calming, casual, conversational meeting, where I left immediately knowing Philippa had the job. She was just so lovely and such a delight to work with. For such a tremendous job, Philippa deserves 100 stars!!! But I suppose 5 out of 5 will have to do. We did not work with Philippa directly, we actually went through our wedding planner. However, we were thrilled with how beautiful all the arrangements were on our wedding day. The pricing was very reasonable and flexible. I didn't have a specific idea in mind as to what type of arrangements I wanted, and I was very impressed with how creative each of the arrangements turned out to be! I thought by not having a specific request we would just get standard flower arrangements, but they were gorgeous, creative and unique!

We used Philippa as the florist for our daughter's wedding in D.C., but she went far beyond just flowers. When we met, she took one look at our plans and within a few minutes redesigned our table arrangements, linens, and table settings, as well as our lighting colors and room draping with the result that the ambiance was exceptionally beautiful as well as functional for our guests. The floral arrangements were inventive, modern, and elegant and suited the venue to a T. She was extremely pleasant and responsive to work with. In short, she is the best.

Philippa nailed it! There's just no better way of putting it. As a busy lawyer in DC, I hadn't even thought about flowers two months before my wedding. When I contacted Philippa, I knew we'd be a great match. She took one look at my Pinterest page and picked out a beautiful arrangement that met by style perfectly. I didn't know what to expect the day of the wedding and was overwhelmed with how beautiful the arrangements were. I had an absolutely fabulous experience working with Philippa. I immediately clicked with her at our first meeting and felt that with no further direction she would execute my vision perfectly (and I wasn't wrong)! She is extremely easy to work with. Philippa listens to what you like and what you don't like, understands what the big picture look you're going for is, and makes wonderful suggestions to help you create it. Moreover, she works within your budget and is always willing to suggest ways to bring the cost down without losing the effect you are going for.

I was so pleased with the bouquets Philippa created for me and my bridesmaids. Moreover, the floral design at our reception was magical. Everything Philippa did was better than anything that I had envisioned. I received so many compliments on the floral arrangements on the tables, guests even took them home at the end of the night! I can't wait to see the beautiful photographs :)

Philippa is a gem! She is SO easy to work with, does absolutely gorgeous work - has a great assistant Dawn - and was a vita part of my recent wedding. I just loved her! Philippa is a preferred vendor at the Hay-Adams Hotel in Washington, DC, which is where I read about her. She wouldn't be associated with the H-A if she wasn't first rate - and she is! My then fiance and I met with her in February... stayed in touch throughout the months... and she delivered hugely beautiful arrangements, bouquets right on time, as promised. Dawn dropped me an e-mail a day or two beforehand just to ensure she knew our schedule so timing the delivery was correct. Great attention to detail! Philippa Tarrant is not just a florist; she is an amazing artist. She put together the most incredible floral display for my daughter's recent wedding. The bridal bouquets were uniquely crafted based on the visions of the bride. The table bouquets just popped with color and uniqueness. We were in awe when we walked into the reception room and looked at the tables. The girls all loved their bouquets. Even the guys remarked on the clever boutounniers. We would highly recommend Philippa.

I used Philippa Tarrant for my wedding in DC on March 31st, and was thrilled with her services. When I sat down with her initially, I was impressed with her portfolio and her ideas for my wedding. She went out of her way to go to my venues and had suggestions as to what would look best in those settings. She also recommended ways to cut costs so that I could stay within my budget. The delivery and set up went seamlessly, and the flowers looked incredible. It was everything I could have wanted. The colors, size, and fullness were exactly what she said they would be. They were even more beautiful than I imagined. I would highly recommend anyone getting married in the DC/MD/VA area to use Philippa for your wedding.

Phillipa was wonderful to work with. Her flower arrangements were beautiful and she had a lot of good ideas. She looked at the reception venue and the color of the tablecloths & color of the bridesmaid dresses in order to choose the right colors & flowers. She needed very little instruction. She also had tips on how to cut costs such as sharing the ceremony flowers with the couple getting married before us. She was able to accommodate last-minute requests for flowers for the bridesmaids' hair and was very pleasant and professional.

As far as florists go, Philippa's arrangements seem to have that special edge that make them somehow better than the other flowers I have seen. Her flower arrangements added a beautiful touch to our wedding reception at the Willard & reception at the Dahlgren Chapel.

My wedding was this past weekend and I can't stop looking at the photos from the day. The flowers were spectacular!!! I couldn't have asked for a better florist. Phillippa matched my colors and then added her own creativity to create arrangements so gorgeous that everyone was talking about them at the wedding. My wedding planner even said to me that my bouquet of coral peonies was the most beautiful bouquet she'd ever seen (and she's done a lot of weddings)... If you are getting married, meet with Phillippa and see what she is capable of doing. You will not be disappointed. She is a phenomenal florist! And she is truly so sweet and accommodating. I was even able to arrange for her team to bring flowers from the wedding to the hotel where we held the brunch the next day so we could use the arrangments again. I don't think I could rank a vendor any higher. The flowers she put together for the wedding will always be one of the many highlights of the day. Perfection!

Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful! Philippa is quite simply an artist. Our flowers were perfect.

From our first meeting, Philippa just seemed to get what we were looking for. She was a joy to work with and came up with interesting, beautiful ideas. Her quote was reasonable (expensive but TOTALLY worth it and much less expensive than the other florist we met with). She even came up with ideas to make things more cost-effective (like using the decorations from the ceremony in the reception room). The best way to contact her was by e-mail and she wrote back usually within a few hours.

I don't have a single negative thing to say-- she was fabulous!

Philippa Tarrant is the best! She is immensely talented and extremely personable and accessible. Philippa was familiar with my venue, had a wonderful creative vision for the flowers, and was great at listening and interpreting my ideas. She even met me at my venue so that we could walk through together and visualize and discuss everything on site. I absolutely LOVED working with Philippa Tarrant. Her website, www.philippatarrant.com, gave me a terrific preview of her work, but she even further outdid herself with the flowers for my wedding. When I first met with her, I told her I didn't have a specific budget in mind, but I clearly stated I was not trying to spend my parents' retirement money on flowers. I wanted in-season flowers that were pretty yet didn't look exactly like every other bouquet. She had books and brochures with various flowers and gave me her ideas and showed me what the flowers looked like. She was also familiar with my venue, which is very ornately decorated on its own, and told me I wouldn't need a lot of flowers to make the ceremony and reception beautiful. I appreciated her honesty -- she could have told me the opposite and I would have believed her. We were very pleased with her estimate, and on the day of my wedding when she delivered the flowers, I was in awe. My bouquet, the bridesmaides' bouquets, and the other corsages and boutonnieres were stunning. Everyone kept commenting on how beautiful they were. I could not have been happier. In fact, I kept my bouquet in water, and carried it home on an airplane with me, and only after a week did the flowers start to slightly wilt. Fabulous!

Upon first meeting Philippa she was able to catch on to my personal taste and style and suggest beautiful flower arrangements that matched my vision. She thought about the venue and the overall look when designing modern and elegant floral pieces.

I changed some of my floral arrangements several times (my bouquet, escort card table, etc) and Philippa was flexible in making those changes- which was something that I really appreciated.

Philippa was amazing and her arrangements were out of this world. I didn't really know what I wanted when we met to discuss flowers, but she totally read me and directed me to the most beautiful, classy, elegant arrangements that completely changed the look of our somewhat bland reception hall. The guests were talking about the flowers even after we returned from our honeymoon (and many of the arrangements were still alive!). OH MY GOODNESS. Philippa Tarrant delivered!!! When my husband and I were given the opportunity to preview our ceremony hall just prior to the start of the ceremony, our breaths were taken away. The florals were absolutely beautiful. Philippa captured all of the colors I wanted into the arrangements wonderfully. She truly is a professional considering all she had to work with were my very vague, somewhat confused, and generalized ideas of what I was hoping for. She created florals much better than I could've imagined.

The wedding party bouquets were delivered in a timely manner and they were gorgeous. The corsages for the mothers arrived as pin-ons but as soon as I expressed my concern that we were having difficulty keeping them pinned on to each mother's thin fabric, Philippa's assistant took them somewhere and almost magically returned within ten minutes having transformed them into corsages on beautiful pearl bracelets instead. WHAT???!?? Talk about saving the day and doing so in practically no time at all.

I also requested flowers from Philippa to cascade down our wedding cake. Again, she made our cake look more beautiful than what I had even wanted with elegant pink roses (what looked like hundreds) cascading gracefully down our cake. All in all, I wished I could've frozen all of these floral arrangements to keep forever. Philippa truly is one with flowers and knows how to bring them together in heavenly ways. The ONLY downside was her responsiveness. I needed to contact her to make a change in request here or there. Although it would seem as though she wasn't receiving the messages, it was clear that she was because she delivered everything we wanted and then some. That being said, although keeping in CLOSE contact may be difficult, no one should worry that that has any impact on the products she brings before you. You will, without a doubt, NOT be disappointed. I now follow her on Instagram. All in all, I would highly recommend Philippa!

Philippa provided stunning flowers for our wedding. In our initial meeting she immediately understood the style we were going for and put together a proposal that really captured our ideas. We felt the venue was gorgeous and did not need a lot of flowers for the ceremony space; Phillipa completely agreed and we loved not feeling pressured to order more flowers than we thought we needed. All of the bouquets / boutonnieres / ceremony pieces / table centerpieces were absolutely gorgeous on the day. Phillipa kindly made two stops; one to deliver all the bouquets so the bridal party could take photos before the ceremony and then to set up the flowers at the venue. The only slight issue we had was that Phillipa was not always very responsive on email and we sometimes had a to send a couple to get our questions answered. Overall though everything worked out perfectly and we received a lot of compliments on the flowers! I will definitely recommend Phillipa to other DC-area brides!

Gorgeous flowers. Philippa was very easy to work with and ideally located right in D.C. The best thing about her is that she'll work with whatever budget you have, offering ideas of how to stay within the budget while still achieving what you want in terms of floral design. I absolutely loved my flowers that Philippa did for my wedding! I went in with a very specific vision for types of flowers I liked/didn't like as well as colors I wanted and she used my suggestions and then gave me some of hers that she thought would work great with what I had chosen. I chose a mixture of tall centerpieces and some smaller floating centerpieces with candles to save money but looking back my only regret was not using all of the tall because they were so beautiful. In addition, my bridal bouquet and bridesmaids bouquets were great! I chose a very delicate flower but she did such a great job that the bouquet held up for quite some time after the fact. I was very sad to throw it away. It sometimes took a little while to get a hold of her but overall she did a great job and I was very happy with the arrangements she delivered! She was even very flexible when I had to make a change two days before my wedding after my church told me I could not use the arrangements I had paid for. She managed to take those flowers and incorporate them into the reception space beautifully.

Wow, are Philippa's arrangements and ideas gorgeous! She did the flowers for our May 2011 wedding and they exceeded our (very high) expectations. My husband wanted something modern, which was slightly challenging given the traditional decor of our ceremony and reception areas. Philippa came through with gorgeous and very simple arrangements of lisianthus, tulips, roses, irises, and orchids, all in the groom's favorite color of dark purple or the complementary shade chosen by Philippa (green). It all looked fabulous with the decor, and my new husband was thrilled with his "manly" boutonierre (a dark purple orchid wrapped in some sort of silver twine). Philippa is slightly hard to get in touch with but she is super nice and you should trust her implicitly...if she suggests something, go with it...you and your guests will love the results.

While I initially had some difficulties with communication and getting a timely response, as the wedding approached communication was very smooth. My bouquet and the bridesmaid bouquets were quite lovely. She also did an adorable pomander for our flower girl. It was a bit hard to get a hold of this vendor. Lots of back and forth emails and missed phone calls. But in the end, everything worked out beautifully and my bridesmaids and I were very happy with the quality and freshness of our bouquets. Philippa was really great at coming up with a beautiful design for my bouquet and all of our flowers remained intact throughout the day. Philippa was also great at coming up with alternatives for flowers that would meet my budget but also give us great quality. I highly recommend her!

Philippa was awesome! Both my brother and good friend had hired her for their respective weddings so I knew I was in good hands. I didn't really have a vision for what I wanted and Philippa was fantastic at gauging my fiancee and my preferences and and helping us come up with a vibrant color scheme for our spring wedding. I totally trusted her instincts. On the day of the wedding, she was at the venue super early (earlier that I though we could even arrive). She even helped put the flowers (that she helped select) in my hair, which was beyond the call of duty.

I was thrilled with the flowers. I used the Church's flower people for the church flowers, and I used Philippa for all of the bouquet's, the flowers for the Blessed Mother, and all of the reception flowers. Philippa sat down with me and asked me a ton of questions about what I wanted for the bouquets, which were the most important flowers to me. We were unable to find reasonably priced Lily of the Valley in October, and that was the only thing about which I was dissapointed. But the bouquests were PERFECT - exactly what I was going for. She really listened to me. The only think I wish had gone a little differntly is that she dropped the flowers off at the church ahead of time, and some of the wedding party / family/ ushers did not know which flowers they were supposed to wear. I wish we would have talked more about proper labeling or that I had told people exactly what to expect. But my bouquet was exquisite and EXACTLY what I wanted, and so were the bridesmaid's bouquets. I would recommend Philippa highly.

I absolutely loved all the flowers at our wedding. The bouquets were amazing and I didn't want to put mine down, even when I was told I would have trouble eating and drinking with it in my hand!
I really enjoyed working with Philippa and felt that she was responsive to the ideas my husband and I had. She was also happy and able to incorporate other ideas when my mother had slightly different tastes from myself.
All in all, a great experience.

The flowers at our wedding were beautiful. We sent Philippa some Pinterest photos and notes on what we liked, and she understood perfectly what we were looking for. The only complaint I have is she frequently wouldn't respond to emails, even to just acknowledge a change we had requested. However, the flowers were delivered on time and were exactly what we were looking for.

I found Philippa by chance when I was reading reviews for another florist and she was mentioned as "saving the day" for another bride who was having a terrible time. I emailed her with my request and didn't hear back right away. When I finally did get her on the phone she was extremely nice and professional. I told her my budget, sent her my pinterest so she had an idea what I wanted and she told me what she could do. I booked her sight unseen from across the country and kept my fingers crossed. She stayed within my budget and the flowers were AMAZING! Exactly what I wanted.

The only downside was that she was a bit difficult to get a hold of from time to time. But she delivered the flowers early (even after I moved the delivery time up by 30 min 2 days before the wedding) and was kind enough to throw in vases for the bouquets for the reception.

Philippa does gorgeous work. Does not give too much guidance, so be sure you know what you want. Expensive, but people will comment on how beautiful your flowers are. Very creative, she can do anything!

Stunning flowers, but not exactly what I wanted.

The flowers were simply beautiful. The colors were vibrant but not garish, all the elements coordinated beautifully. That said, I specifically asked for a flowing bouquet - one with lots of greenery and fern like leaves. I provided pictures and was quite specific. I got a bouquet that was the shape of a large bunch of broccoli. Beautiful broccoli, but not what I wanted.

Creative genius, artistic master! My daughter is allergic to flowers! I worried so much that the element of flowers would be missed! Not so. Phillippa created unforgettable bouquets of greens, berries, succulents. Things I can't even name! Everyone commented on the lovely centerpieces and bouquets. Most importantly, no sneezing and the arrangements live on! Two weeks! Thank you Philippa!

Philippa does beautiful work. However, she was not easy to reach or get a response from. Our flowers were beautiful, but they wilted shortly thereafter. Additionally, we had a hard time getting a contract and definitive price from her. I absolutely love her work, but I wish it had been a smoother process with fresher flowers.

I was so excited to work with Philippa after looking at her floral arrangements online. She picked up quickly on the style flowers that I wanted for my weddding and put together an estimate within a day or two. In comparison to other DC area vendors, the costs were comparable. The centerpieces however, a few calla lilies spun around in a vase, were rather expensive.

Phillipa didn't mind taking the centerpieces out of the proposal and revisiting centerpieces at a later time, I believe. I don't doubt that Philippa would have done a fabulous job, but she completely forgot about me. I never received the contract after following up with her so I pretty much assumed that she didn't want to work with me. (I did look elsewhere in the meantime.)

Surprisingly, she contacted me about two weeks before my wedding inquiring about whether I still needed her services! She said that she didn't receive the signed contract. I emailed her our last correspondence showing that she neglected to send me the contract. I was shocked that three months had passed before she thought to confirm our arrangement. Very unprofessional and disappointing. It may have been an oversight, but I don't think a $1,000 gig was worth her time.
