We hired Melissa to design our flowers for our destination wedding on Captiva Island. My direction was simple - make them fun, tropical, bright & fabulous. Then, I let Melissa do what she does best: design the most magnificent arrangements of flowers you can imagine. She did just that! From the bouquets to the flowers on the ceremony arch, she created an eye-catching cacophony of color that complimented the beach setting and our attire. She even went above and beyond when she re-purposed the arch flowers and created ad-hoc arrangements for the dinner tables and deck.
We highly recommend Floral Designs by Melissa - her attention to detail, creative eye and kind, warm personality make her a pleasure with which to work. -

Please look no further than Melissa for the floral designs of your DREAMS. I truly cannot give enough praise for how talented, amazing, kind, organized, professional, and extraordinary Melissa is!! From the first zoom call we had, I could sense how extremely passionate and devoted Melissa is to this business and I knew how much care and attention to detail she would put into our floral designs. Her extensive experience and beautiful work speaks for itself! She is warm, genuine, patient, and honest. She took the time to explain in season flowers, costs, while being conscious of our budget. I shared my Pinterest board of floral inspiration including a bouquet I loved and when I tell you… COPY | PASTE. Melissa made an EXACT replica of this bouquet. Stunning. Every single detail was incredible. The bouquet’s, the small bud vases on the tables with the taper candles - she knew exactly how many and where to place them all to make the room feel elegant and elevated, the arrangements over the mantle, the votive candles. Her eye and attention to detail is magnificent. I am just so happy and pleased (and thankful for all the other brides who wrote reviews about Melissa). We found Floral Designs by Melissa through the Smith Farm Gardens preferred vendor page, and I am so glad we did. From our very first call, I loved Melissa and instantly felt she was the right fit. She truly understood my vision—she walked through my Pinterest board, went over each individual flower with me, and explained the entire process in detail. She was mindful of our budget, honest about expectations, and never made it feel like she was trying to oversell us. Instead, she cared about making sure we had exactly what we wanted and needed, and she delivered flawlessly.
Melissa is warm, easy to talk to, and just an overall wonderful person. When I saw the flowers on our wedding day, I was in awe. She took my inspiration and turned it into a stunning reality. Melissa was an absolute godsend for my wedding! She was extremely easy to work with and very knowledgeable about all things flowers! She responded to every email I sent within 24 hours throughout the whole planning process. Meeting over Zoom made everything very convenient and easy for me – especially since it allowed my mother, who lives out of state, to be involved in each step and conversation. She encouraged us to create a Pinterest board then used that to help shape the final design. I know next to nothing about flowers so having someone there to make suggestions and answer all of my questions was a game changer. She was always on time for every appointment and was accommodating up until the last minute – including adding on to the design proposal merely weeks before the wedding. I cannot recommend Melissa and her team enough!! -

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Floral Designs by Melissa! From the very first consultation, Melissa understood my vision for our wedding from the simple images I had pulled of white, black, and green flowers. She brought that vision to life in the most stunning way!
The arrangements were absolutely amazing. Each of my bridesmaid's bouquets, my stunning bouquet, the groomsmen and grooms boutonniere, the centerpieces and the additional flowers throughout the venue perfectly captured the color scheme and added a touch of sophistication to our special day. The quality of the flowers was perfection, and they held up beautifully throughout the event.

I recently worked with Melissa for my wedding, and I couldn't have been happier with her work, and with the process of working with her. Melissa is fabulous. She was extremely detailed and on top of things. We had multiple consultations to work out every single detail and make my vision come to life. I didn't have a very specific idea, and I can't name more than a few flowers, but we talked about the wedding's tone and color scheme and put together a floral plan that I absolutely loved. She provided bouquets for myself and 7 bridesmaids, wristlets for the mothers, corsages for the groom, fathers, and grandfathers, petals for my flower girls, centerpieces, candles, cake florals, and an absolutely stunning arch. Melissa helped me stay within my budget by helping me prioritize more cost-effective flowers and items (for example, we repurposed some bridesmaids bouquets for cake flowers). My guests were raving about the bouquets. Melissa is an absolute delight to work with. She was so responsive, warm, and kind. She graciously helped me as a sounding board with a few other questions and wedding details. She helped add some sentimental details to our florals when we had a loss in the family before the wedding. I already miss working with her and I am rushing to write this review two days after my wedding. I can't recommend her enough. If you are lucky enough to work with Floral Designs by Melissa, you will be in very good hands! -

Perfection
Where do I begin? Melissa made my wedding dreams come true! The first time I cried happy tears the day of my wedding was when she walked in with my bouquet!
I initially heard of her from a friend that used her for her wedding.
I was instantly impressed by the set up of the breakdown she sends you after your first meeting with her. Melissa puts you first, she will walk you through how everything will look and make sure she is understanding exactly what you want to ensure that your florals for the big day are perfect.
My flowers were everything I always wanted and Melissa completely outdid herself and created the most beautiful arraignments and bouquets that have ever seen!
I would recommend Melissa to anybody that I know over and over again! Book her now! -

Melissa is the ABSOLUTE BEST. Look no further. She is an artist with incredible attention to detail and she really takes the time to listen to the couple's vision and bring it to life. My flowers were absolutely stunning. We had an unusual request to incorporate marigolds into some of the personal flowers as an homage to my husband's late father and most florists scoffed at the idea or told us it was impossible or a bad idea. Not Melissa! She loved the idea that we wanted to use flowers for such a sentimental reason and went above and beyond to incorporate them exactly how we envisioned. She even suggested growing and drying the marigolds ourselves so we had a personal connection! And a few days before the wedding she called to tell me that a particular flower we had planned to use were not the right shade and she didn't think they were what I wanted, and we came up with a solution. I couldn't believe the attention to detail and dedication to sticking as closely to our vision as possible! She is the absolute sweetest person with quick and professional communication, and she does her best to work within the budget you set and give you the best value possible. I cannot recommend her enough. If you want breathtaking flowers and a true artist to work with bringing your vision to life, stop searching and hire Melissa -

9/4/22 Wedding Review with Floral Designs by Melissa!
Melissa and her team were an absolute pleasure to work with! Melissa is organized, kind, passionate about her work, and very talented. She was able to help me pull pieces of inspiration from the photos I shared with her as well as the wedding venue itself, and put together a truly stunning set of floral arrangements for our wedding day. The day of the wedding, her and her team were prompt, efficient, and incredibly kind. Melissa and her team were INCREDIBLE. We sent her inspiration photos prior to the wedding and the end result was even better than the photos we sent her! She was so accommodating and willing to work with us up to the very last minute as we were navigating a potential hurricane and had to determine whether we would have the ceremony outside or not. She was incredibly helpful and was quick to respond to any questions we had. She even made a floral collar for our dog to wear during the ceremony! All our guests commented on how beautiful the bouquets and flower arrangements were. You can tell Melissa loves what she does through her work. Knowledgeable, Talented, & a pleasure to work with!
Just WOW! Melissa was incredible to work with. From the beginning, Melissa listened to the vision we had for our wedding and helped advise on the best flowers for the season and the look we were trying to achieve. She was able to take our vision and turn it into a master plan; our proposal laid out the design for each centerpiece, our ceremony arch set up, and the bouquets and boutonnieres for all of our wedding parties. Having such a structured plan, was so relieving and took the stress off such a big element of our big day. Her plans were like a vision board/blueprint to help organize my venue as well, the day of our wedding coordinator knew where everything would be set up and how to assist Melissa.
Throughout the whole wedding planning process, Melissa would check in to make sure everything was still on track and our plans were still accurate, as we got closer to the day we finalized everything and made final arrangements for the big day. The day of was so relaxing since I knew we had been in constant communication and that everything was going to be set up correctly and timely.
AND on the day of, our flowers and arrangements looked even better than I could have imagined. My flower, the centerpieces, the cake, the amazing arch everything was absolutely incredible!
Melissa is your go to florist, she will take any idea you have and turn it into a masterpiece. -

Melissa and her team are just AMAZING. Six months before our wedding, Melissa sat down with us and pieced together my tastes by asking this-or-that questions and noticing if I wasn't over the moon about something. She did everything in her power to find what spoke to me and my vision of autumnal floral vibes. In the end, she came up with exquisite recipes incorporating all of the warm earthy tones I was hoping for, looping in unique stems that pulled everything together. And the execution of the arrangements on the day truly blew me away. I just kept staring at everything whenever I had a moment to admire and can’t wait to see photos capturing the details. The show stopper was an ornate installation on a cedar arch for the ceremony, and the most creative assembly was a floral arrangement popping out of a vintage card catalog. She even found the time to add in some extra stems at each place setting and create some unique bonus pieces with extra product, which was simply above and beyond. Seriously, do yourself a favor and hire Melissa if you can. She works with the best product, and is passionate about her work, communicative, extremely dedicated, and her creative vision brings it all across the finish line with flare. I'm so glad we worked with her and her team! -

We had a wonderful experience with Melissa! She is very friendly and professional, and her work is absolutely gorgeous. When our venue unexpectedly changed, Melissa did not miss a beat in adjusting our floral needs for the new space. She accommodated our special request for an olive wreath crown for the groom, and even gave us a piece of the olive plant she was going to use to make sure it did not trigger the groom’s very specific allergies. Every bouquet, boutonniere, corsage, and arrangement was beautifully crafted and lasted well past the reception. Melissa’s floral work was exactly what I dreamed it would be, and I would 100% recommend Melissa to anyone planning a wedding or special event! -

Absolutely amazing - beyond my expectations!
Floral Designs by Melissa was absolutely incredible! I am not typically a big flowers person (I don’t know many types) so I sent Melissa some images (that I changed even up to a month before) and she helped deliver flowers that were far beyond my expectations. My flowers were one of my favorite parts of my wedding - they were absolutely gorgeous. Melissa had my vision come to life, and added in an additional color (from her recommendation) to add a pop I didn’t even even know I needed.
Melissa was very professional, very responsible and very punctual. She was willing to work with me to adjust my price to a point that I felt more comfortable with, without sacrificing anything! She was such a pleasure to work with, and I couldn’t be happier with the final product. Amazing flowers and planning experience!
Melissa was an amazing wedding vendor to work with! All planning was done easily via a couple video calls and emails and Melissa was very thorough, trustworthy, accommodating, and organized throughout the entire process. She made flowers the easiest and most fun part of the wedding planning process. I had specific inspiration photos, but everything came out even better than I expected. I received many compliments on all the flowers and was happy to be able to send so many people home with beautiful centerpieces which lasted a while after the wedding. Melissa was AMAZING to work with, and honestly was my favorite vendor to work with throughout the entire wedding process.
My partner and I had an idea of what we wanted for our wedding, but had no idea about the specific types of florals or arranges we wanted to use. Melissa took a look at our inspiration photos, our venue, considered our budget, and put together a detailed proposal that captured everything we were looking for.
As we got closer to the date, Melissa checked in with us to finalize the details and make sure everything matched (with dresses, tablecloths, etc), advised us on final details (who to order a corsage/boutonniere for), and even checked in with the venue to ensure there wouldn't be any day-of issues. When there was a mixup in communication with the venue about final decor, Melissa personally called us about the situation, checked in with our preferences, and advised us on how to handle the venue situation.
I cannot recommend Melissa enough - having her on our team gave me much-needed peace of mind during the morning of our wedding. -

Wonderful Experience!
Melissa was extremely helpful from the initial phone meeting, to creating a proposal, and helping to adjust that proposal leading up to our wedding day. I struggled in the beginning with my "vision", but Melissa was wonderful in helping me make decisions that perfectly accented our day and assisted with the budget we had set. We had a large wedding and bridal party, and she even made the perfect flower collar for our "groomsdog". A few days before the wedding we had to change our whole plan to an indoor ceremony due to weather, and she did a brilliant job creating a floral design for the fireplace mantel in place of the original arbor we had designed. We would definitely recommend her for your flower needs! -

Melissa was an absolute joy to work with! What drew me to her was during our first meeting she was straight forward and honest, which was something I hadn’t experienced talking with other florists. Wedding Flowers
Melissa was our wedding florist and she was great!! She captured my vision 100% and I couldn't have been happier!! Besides creating a bridal bouquet, Melissa also designed nine posy-bouquets for my bridesmaids which were beautiful. I wanted simple eucalyptus greenery and votives for my farm tables and she nailed it. I started working with Melissa after my original florist was unavailable for my COVID-rescheduled wedding date. I had a very specific vision in mind for my wedding; I wanted bright, fun, and colorful flowers to be the main design element, so a florist was a very important vendor for me. I trusted Melissa and what she delivered on my wedding day was above and beyond what I could have imagined! As soon as I saw my bridal bouquet I was amazed at how well she nailed my vision based on a few inspiration photos. She also provided a cedar arch with matching florals and it was the perfect backdrop to our ceremony. We had a beautiful, vibrant floral runner on the dinner table for our micro-wedding and pulled the entire room together. Melissa was great to work with! She was so nice, clearly knew her stuff, and brought my vision to life! She talked through my thoughts and gave great ideas and recommendations. My bouquet was so beautiful and she wrapped it with a piece of lace from my late mother's wedding dress, making it that much more special! I even dropped off my own jars with her that I wanted to use with the centerpieces and she put them together beautifully. She knew what she was doing and we only had to speak a couple of times, she ran with everything and I wouldn't have changed a thing! I would definitely recommend her! -

I used Melissa for my wedding and she was amazing!! So easy to work with, extremely accommodating and very sweet! When I look back on my wedding pictures my eyes are drawn to the flowers. Melissa exceeded all of my expectations in finding a florist for our wedding. I didn't really have a clear vision on what I wanted for our flowers before meeting with her. However, Melissa knew exactly the right questions to ask to get me thinking more clearly about what kind of bouquets I wanted for myself as well as the rest of my bridal party. Which then made it simple to make decisions on the other flowers/arrangements we needed as well. She was able to show me ideas and pictures at our first meeting and I could instantly tell she had a better idea of what I was looking for than I even did myself. The end result was beyond my expectations, I couldn't have asked for flower arrangements that were more beautiful! Melissa is the best! She understood my vision from the very start and executed it to perfection. Two things really stood out to me: she gave me realistic expectations regarding my requests (i.e. what would and would not look good) and sat down at her computer with me to show me pictures of options she thought would be best and pulled everything up in a collage so I could get the full picture in my head. It really made all the difference, and there is no better value for the money out there. I did not make it easy on her having to deliver flowers to 3 locations the morning of my wedding and she pulled it all off flawlessly. Melissa is awesome and I would recommend her to any bride! -

I had a florist that I was originally using for my elopement ceremony due to Covid and she ended up last minute increasing the price two days before the ceremony. My photographer had this florist as a contact and asked her if she could make a bouquet and boutonnière for me (that was all I needed) that day for my wedding in two days. She was more than happy to and can I say did the most beautiful job. I was beyond blessed to have her make my bouquet and boutonnière and for it to have come out and perfect as it did.
