I was referred by seamstress for cleaning my gown before the big day after I dirtied the train during my portraits. Service has been nothing but excellent! Marissa was so detailed and explained the process thoroughly which put my mind at ease. They handled my dress with such care from start to finish. You can truly tell how much the team cares about each client and their experience. I enjoyed my experience so much that I brought my veil and my fiancé brought his suit to be cleaned as well (next door). Thank you Five Star for taking care of me and my gown!! Will forever recommend and will be bringing my gown back after the wedding for preservation services!! -

I’m absolutely delighted with the results! I recently had a 35+ year old stuffed animal cleaned as a gift for my brother, and the outcome was fantastic. The team handled the stuffie with such care, restoring its original charm while making it look fresh and clean. It was clear they took great pride in their work, and the attention to detail was exceptional. My brother was over the moon to receive this sentimental gift in such great condition. Awesome and quick alterations!!
I came in with a few weeks to spare to completely alter my MOH bridesmaid dress. Marissa, the GM, was so sweet and quickly took me in to put my dress on and see what needed to be done. They were able to help open the back of my dress first and then I came back for a second fitting within the week to measure the hem I needed done. With my hectic and busy schedule as an ER physician I had to reschedule my pickup dates and the front desk staff were very understanding and accommodating every time. I got advice on adjusting my shoes, my dress, and had it nicely folded for me to pack (the wedding I’m going to is in another state). Overall would HIGHLY recommend coming here for all of your formal dress needs, and will definitely be back for any needs in the future. 100% full service! 22yr old Restoration!
I can not express how overwhelmed with gratitude I was when my 22yr old wedding dress was placed before me COMPLETELY restored! I was referred to Five Star Wedding Gown Cleaners and very thankful I took my wedding dress there to be cleaned and altered. The staff is extremely professional, organized and made sure the right look was achieved. My dress was off the rack and had some wear and tear to parts of it yet when I picked it up after cleaning there was no trace of any of that. Rest assured, they’re the best.
I cannot overstate what fantastic work they do here. I put my dress through the wringer on our wedding day, dragging it around outside through the dirt and oak pollen, spilling drinks on it, and the sweat…it is Texas after all. I brought them my dress with it being solid dark gray on the bottom and oak pollen embedded in multiple layers of tulle. I got my dress back today and it’s spotless. I have no idea how they do it, but I’m so glad I took it to them. They were upfront about cleaning costs and I felt like the value couldn’t be beat for the work that was done. I highly recommend them! -

I want to thank Marissa and her wonderful co-workers for helping me through this time to get our restoration done. Restoring my mom and dad's wedding ring pillow from a piece of my mother's wedding dress and working around the original flowers came out looking fantastic. Helped restore her vail to look as bright and beautiful as my mother wore on her wedding day. My daughter will be able to wear a part of her belated grandmother at her wedding this coming weekend. Thought I waited to long to get my wedding gown cleaned
I finally got around to looking at my gown this year and was shocked, It's been a few years since my wedding in 2019 and my gown had stains and discolored all over. I thought it was beyond help, to say I was upset was an understatement, My partner talked me in to calling around and finally the girls at Five Star gave me hope. Emergency Deodorizing/Cleaning of Weddings Dresses
My daughter and her fiance's bridal gowns were altered (beautifully) in a shop where an animal died in the ceiling or a wall. The smell permeated both dresses such that they were unwearable. I brought them to Five Star on the recommendations of two other dry cleaners in town -with the wedding less than two weeks away. They washed, deodorized and pressed both dresses, in time for us to have a smell test and do it all again if necessary before the wedding. The first time did the trick! BEST Bridal Alterations!!
The BEST for Bridal alterations! I live in Austin & found them online after researching alterations in both Austin and San Antonio. I had gone to several other top reviewed alteration places before coming here. I knew after the 1st consultation with Five Star Wedding Gown Specialists that they could get my dresses to look EXACTLY like I wanted and that the drive would be worth it.
I had 2 bridal dresses done with them and they both were completed perfectly! I wanted to use my mother’s dress for walking down the aisle of the church and my 1st dance and I had found a 2nd dress for a good bargain that I wanted to use for the reception party time. My mom’s dress was complex because it didn’t fit me (my mom was a size 4-6 and I’m a size 10), it was a bit discolored since it was about 35 years old, and I wanted a different neckline (the original neckline when all the way up like a turtleneck).
First, they restored my mom’s dress back to its original bright off-white color by using all organic ingredients. Then, they took the material from the original sleeves to make the back of the dress bigger so that it would zip. Finally, for the fun part! We reconstructed the neckline and sleeves with new tulle and her original applique peices to create the most beautiful and perfect wedding dress ever! They added a bustle and even added more tulle to my petticoat to make my dress even more full - just like a princess. I LOVE it!
They were even able to customize my veil by sewing my cathedral veil with my mom’s blusher. This came out perfect.
For the 2nd dress, they altered the cap sleeves to tank sleeves (about 2” wide) so that I would be able to fully move my arms around comfortably on the dance floor. They sewed a beautiful hemline that was perfect for dancing and I feel like a movie star when I have this dress on!
It’s amazing! The women that work here truly work magic!! The drive from Austin was completely worth it and they can schedule fittings far in advanced so you can plan your trips. They also try their best to minimize the number of fittings so that when you come in it’s focused and the time is productive. I am so blessed to have found them and will recommend them to all of my friends. -

Five Star Wedding Gown Specialists helped to turn my second-hand gown into the most dazzling gown I could ever imagine. They essentially made a new gown from the gown that I found for a great deal. Nearly all of my wedding party needed alterations for their gowns. I needed alterations as well and I was already planning on having it cleaned and pressed after my bridal portraits, since I took the photos outdoors in Gruene and knew it would be getting super dirty as a result. So my bridesmaids and I headed to Five Star Wedding Gown for Phase 1: alterations. The ladies there were so very helpful and made the entire process a breeze. Phase 1 was a success and we got our dresses back quickly and all were perfect. Phase 2: cleaning and pressing was definitely a necessity after getting my portraits done and took it in the very next day to have that done. I went to Five Star Wedding Gown Specialists to have my grandmother’s wedding gown restored and preserved. We didn’t even know that she still had it, but found it when we helped her move. It was in an old trunk and well-worn and a nice yellow-ish color. When I went to get my bridal portraits taken, I had no idea that my dress would get as dirty as it did. Instead of freaking out, I took it to Five Star Wedding Gown Specialists to get it cleaned and pressed before my wedding day. It didn’t take very long to get back to its beautiful original condition and it was back to being the most perfect gown for my big day. I will be back in the future! -

I went to Five Star Wedding Gown Specialists to have my gown preserved in the hopes of passing it on to future generations. It was seriously the best thing that I ever did for myself. Once it was completed, my dress was as stunning as the day that I tried it on and bought it. I have no idea how they do what they do, but they somehow made it perfect once again. I get it out every so often to just see it. Thank you for the wonderful work that you do! -

I go to Five Star Cleaners to get my clothes dry-cleaned and altered and I so I already knew about their gown services from that. I took my gown to Five Star Wedding Gown to get cleaned and pressed for my wedding and it turned out just beautifully! I am so grateful that they were able to do such a great job in such a short amount of time. -

I took my wedding dress to Five Star Wedding Gown Specialists to have it preserved. My dress was super dirty from all of the fun I had on my wedding day and I was not quite sure if they would be able to get all of the stains out. Marissa and Veronica were super friendly and made me feel comfortable. They were both very knowledgeable and I felt good knowing my gown was in great hands. A few weeks later and my gown is as good as new and perfectly preserved! I was absolutely THRILLED with the results and I love that they include a pair of white cotton gloves in the box so you can be sure your gown stays perfectly preserved. I would highly recommend them to anyone! -

I decided to use my mother’s gown from the 1970’s for my wedding gown. It had long sleeves, a long train, and actually needed to fit me and not look like I was 4 years old playing in my mother’s wedding gown. I had seen pictures of previous gown redesigns Five Star Wedding Gown had done before, so I thought they would be up for a good challenge. They basically used my mom’s gown as the base, and they “molded” and “sculpted” it much the same as an artist shapes a sculpture. The sleeves were removed. The train went bye-bye and the length was shortened. The stains were removed and it was cleaned and pressed. The dress was stunning and when I tried it on in front of my mom after it was done, we both cried! It was so awesome thinking that I had the best of both worlds: a gown that was my mother’s and an original, just for me! If you are even entertaining the thought of doing this, go see them! You will not be disappointed! -

My dream gown was an antique gown from the 1920’s that I found at an antique store. It was pretty yellow in color and was in desperate need of repair in order for me to wear it. I decided to go see if Five Star Wedding Gown could return this gown to its original condition so that I could wear it for my special day. They were very honest and up-front about everything and walked me through what all would happen. They even kept me informed along the way, which I really appreciated since I had put all of my eggs in one basket with this dress. They were able to perfectly restore it as well as alter it to fit my body. It definitely was a one-of-a-kind dress! Thank you ladies, for the best gown ever! -

I got married a while back (June 2009) and had been putting off getting my gown preserved. It had actually been sitting in my parent’s attic for many of those years and needed some serious TLC after spending so much time in such hot conditions. I brought it to Five Star Wedding Gown thinking it might be a lost cause. It was not a lost cause because that is what they specialize in! They showed me pictures of some seriously worse-off gowns that turned out beautifully. Many, I could not even believe were the same gown! After seeing many examples of the work they have done, I knew I went to the right place! Getting my dress preserved was the best thing I ever did for myself and I am so glad I finally got it done! -

The hubs and I decided to get married in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I was super worried about how to get my dress over there safely. Five Star Wedding Gown Specialists cleaned, pressed, boxed and shipped my gown directly to our hotel! It was waiting for me when I arrived. The dress was perfect. You can tell they put so much care into what they do there. They seemed to handle my gown as if it were their own. I really appreciated that. There is just no telling what I would have done without the ladies at Five Star Wedding Gown! They came to the rescue and actually hand-delivered my gown to my wedding location on my wedding day! It somehow got pretty dirty…in my closet! I still have no earthly idea how that happened (maybe my cat or dog is to blame?). But they were able to make it beautiful again and in the nick of time! I wanted to get my dress altered for my wedding day, since the dress I wanted to wear was actually a friend of mine’s. I took it to Five Star Wedding Gown and they not only altered it but made it into essentially a brand new gown! We pretty much redesigned the gown to make it my own. I went to Five Star Wedding Gown Specialists to have my mother’s wedding gown restored for a Mother’s Day surprise present. It had been stored in my parent’s attic for too many years and was pretty much a yellow color instead of the brilliant white my mother once described. Marissa made me feel so comfortable and walked me through the entire process. It is a big deal handing over a family heirloom, but I knew it was in great hands. I was able to see the dress before it was boxed up. It actually brought tears to my eyes, and it wasn’t even my dress! My mother’s reaction was priceless. She was moved to tears and could not believe it was her same dress! You can tell they take tremendous pride there in the work that they do. Thank you so much! -

My friend used Five Star Wedding Gown Specialists to have her gown preserved, so I knew about them from her. My dress was a wreck after my wedding though because of how epic a day it was. I seriously doubted anyone would be able to remove all of the makeup, spray tan, food, and beverages that had ended up on there. My doubts were quickly squashed when I went to check up on my gown before it was boxed up. Talk about miracle workers! I do not know how they did it, but my dress was good as gold and looked even better than when I bought it, if that is even possible! I loved working with this company in preparation for the big day. This was a destination wedding for us, so several weeks before I contacted Five Star and asked them a few questions via email. They were super responsive! When I came into the shop, they immediately attended to my needs/requests. I was shocked with how beautifully they presented the dress after pressing/steaming it for the wedding day. They ensured that I pick it up 1-2 days in advance, and they had the dress on a shaped hanger so that it wouldn't loose it shape at the bust, around the neck, etc. When I took the dress off the hanger the morning of my wedding day, it was evident that this company is truly professional with their work. So much time and care went into preparing my dress. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else for this service! I'm so luck I found them and highly recommend them!! -

Great value, great service, great gown care! If you are looking for anything that you need done to your gown, call or go by. I am certainly glad I did. Had I known they can even redesign gowns, I would have gone with my mother's wedding gown, and had them redesign it. They did have to do some repairs on the gown I did choose in a very short amount of time and they also pressed it as well. I was beyond pleased with the results and how I was treated there.
