There are a few negative reviews of them online that I have issues believing because the ENTIRE team was above and beyond fantastic. We considered a couple of other caterers but Tom immediately captured our hearts (and stomachs).
I will not pretend they are cheap- we were extremely apprehensive about the cost and how much more they were than other caterers who seemed great as well. But you cannot compare Fire Roasted with other "catering" companies. They do so much more than cater! Their whole aesthetic is elegant, understated, and like nothing you'll see at another wedding. It worked perfectly for our modern, rustic venue: The BARN at Liberty Farms (also great).
Tom and his team take a lot of pride in presentation and service. Not to mention the food itself is OBSCENE. I wish I could eat the menu that Tom created for us every. single. day. I had avid foodies, who eat in Michelin star restaurants regularly, coming up to me gushing about the freshness of the mussels, the perfect preparation of the scallops, and the fact we had DUCK CONFIT for 135 people. I mean, come on!! They are on their own level.
All of our guests were blown away by not only the food but Tom's team. Fire Roasted's way of doing things stood out but never overshadowed the event. I hesitate to call it a "performance" because that makes it sound a bit gauche. It is a seamless spectacle that manages to blend in but will also have your guests in awe.
And TOM!! My fiance and I can't say enough good things about that man. We had so much fun planning this day with him- he was always responsive regarding any questions we had, worked great with our planner, and was on-site the entire day of. Really just so integral to our day running smoothly.
Perhaps their style of food/service isn't for everyone but if you are nearby, and they're within 10K of your food budget, consider them.
We spent that extra money and cut back elsewhere, and it was the single best decision we made for our day! -

FRC provides a unique, nutritious and delicious local farm-to-table catering experience.
Their on-site cooking is spectacular.
The presentation is relaxed and elegant and their service is fantastic.
We and our guests LOVED them!!
They are expensive, but for good reason. If your budget allows, book them. You'll thank me.

FRC's values were in line with ours when it comes to food, so it was an easy choice to have them cater our wedding. They were everything we expected and more. Our guests couldn't stop talking about it, and even our photographer said it was the best food he's had at a wedding! The food, presentation, and service are all top-notch. Can't wait until the next time we're in Great Barrington to stop by the Meat Market. -

Fire Roasted catered our wedding last weekend and it was perfect. The food was so delicious and beautifully arranged, and the servers and bartenders were complete pros. We had an incredible time and didn't worry for a second about the food, table setup or drinks. They just did it all and let us enjoy the party. Our guests came up to us all night raving about the food. Book them now! I would hire them again in a second. -

My partner and I got married in the Berkshires this past August and Fire Roasted was EXCELLENT. The food was delicious, and highly, highly unusual for wedding food: everything felt fresh and special, and our guests continued to rave about different aspects of meal for weeks afterward. The fish and beef were both out of this world, but it was also fantastic for vegetarians: mountains of vegetables. So very high marks on the food. But Tom was more like a wedding planner for us than a caterer: he made multiple site visits and prevented us from making tons of errors: errors in terms of what we thought we did and didn't need, where our tents were, etc. etc. etc. The staff who came and worked the event were a perfect balance of friendly and professional; we had 150 guests, and everyone felt well cared for but not fussed over in an uncomfortable way. And the vibe among the crew was also excellent: they all seemed to know one another and like working together, which made the event so much better for us. I had seen some negative reviews on line right before our wedding and thought, "Yipes!" I'm so glad we moved forward. I'm only planning on doing this once, and I' will always be grateful to Tom and his chef and their crew for helping to make it the wonderful night it was. -

I should start by saying that I am am event planner for a venue. I worked with Fire Roasted for a wedding last spring. During our visit we were sold on the promise of grand fires, beautiful food and their willingness to work with us to build a relationship for future work together.
Post visit they were nearly impossible to get in touch with, frustrating, but ok.
Day of they were over an hour late to show up. the staffing manager had turned into a diva. The food came together in the end.
Fire Roasted charges a premium price for their services - $200 per guest plus. The set up they had was not pleasing to the eye with lots of messes and loud music. This season some guests have expressed interest in working with them and I have deterred them nicely. It is my duty to protect the clients and help them make smart choices for their wedding. When you have some one that is charging such a premium and the quality of the service, food and experience is that of someone charging $140 per person, there is a problem there. I need to see the difference. Thankfully there are some other interesting caterers that will fit with our unique offering. -

We were very excited to book Fire Roasted 11 months before our September 2015 Cape Cod wedding after looking at caterers throughout the Cape/MA area. We initially were treated very well and with the upmost professional and flexible manner. About 6 months before our event things started to fall apart. We were bounced around from person to person in the company, rarely responded to and when we did get a response it was unprofessional and rude. After asking what speciality equipment we needed to book for them 6 months out they said they would not respond because we should be working with a wedding planner (we were) and then we did not hear back. Three weeks before the event they rudely gave us a list of specific rentals they needed (which at this point were sold out) and informed us we had to reserve, buy and transport $400 worth of wood to the venue. The wood was never mentioned up until the point in the contract or otherwise. At the actual event the food was fine, not great but ok. They were late, the meat for the appetizers was not what we agreed upon (a bologna instead of charcuterie) and we ran out of food during dinner!
To top it off while I was getting my hair done the catering manager asked what was in THEIR signature drink. I told them to make it up, since it was supposed to be part of the menu they created. The bartenders were terrible, the drinks were bad and they poured all of our top shelf liquor, instead of the Jim Beam, into their signature drink which was an alcoholic cider. They then proceeded to take my Father's homemade 15% alcoholic ginger beer and pour that in as well at the end of the night.
Horrible. A VERY disappointing, stressful and frustrating vendor. Come to find out, we did not have an isolated incident. They had an internal shakeup and lost their better employees. -

I join the other reviewers in saying that although i had high hopes i was sorely dissapointed. In fact, if they had even bothered to follow up with something more than lip service and a mea vulpa ( and coupon for their new restaurant) I wouldnt have written this at all. From running out of food to not delivering agreed upon vegan meals to not serving their "signature " drink to having zero leftovers including my alcohol, this caterer was a bad choice and i would warn others to not be swayed by slick talk or even a friendly tasting. -

Where to start...
I held back on writing this review because I know how negative reviews can affect people, and does this world need to more negativity?
At the beginning the of working together, we were treated very well, we had a sit down tasting and we felt as though we meshed well. In the approaching weeks, the caterer was impossible to get ahold of. When we did get a hold of Manager (Tom), he seemed uninterested and seemed to know little to no details and very rude in his comments. Very unprofessional.
The day of, the kitchen area looked sloppy and messy, not the polished presentation we were sold. obnoxious music was playing. the caterer was late with the food, the meat was over cooked and cold, (as was the rest of the food, with the exception of a corn and grain dish, through it was over cooked as well but still tasty). The desserts came next... The coffee was watered down and luke warm, the cast iron "cakes" were dry and burnt at the bottom. The next day there was trash strewn around the venue (gatorade bottles, a reusable water canteen, and plastic food wrappers) that we had to pick up. The food was a significant investment for us that we were very excited about at the beginning and untimely discouraged in the end. It felt like we got the B team.
After I did some internet research and reaching out, I spoke with other past clients to see if just for some reason they had a really off day before I posted anything, Sad to say, I was not the only one. Do you research and avoid and expensive lesson. -

If you are considering Fire Roasted to cater any event, especially your wedding, I HIGHLY recommend you chose another option. I never had a need to write a negative review for anything in my life, until now with Fire Roasted. Working with Fire Roasted in the months leading up to our wedding, we experienced deceit, dishonesty, lack of integrity, and an overall disrespectful demeanor.
1. Working with Fire Roasted, we picked specific rentals, including chairs, plates, silverware, tables. etc. Fire Roasted confirmed that everything we requested was ordered and ready to go. A month before the wedding, I called the rental company personally to double check and confirm the rentals. The rental company told me that Fire Roasted for my wedding ordered nothing that we requested, but in fact ordered all the cheapest rentals available that were not at all what we picked. When I called Fire Roasted to discuss, they admitted they were trying to cut cost and did not think we would notice.
2. After finding out the rentals were not done correctly, I checked on all the other details. When I realized that the staff of Fire Roasted were being dishonest at every opportunity, I called the owner to discuss and explain my deep disappointment. At that point, he said he is no longer willing to be our caterer since he quoted our pricing wrong and now can't make enough money on our wedding to make it worth his while. A month before our wedding he cancelled on us! We had to find a new caterer, which was a blessing in disguise since we found Heirloom Fire, who ended up throwing us a spectacular wedding at the last minute, with all of the elements we wanted with Fire Roasted, excepted done ten times nicer at the same price! -

We booked fire roasted last year and they were a tremendous disappointment. There was a transition at the time and the new manager changed my rental order after to the CHEAPEST tables and chairs after I had already met with them and booked higher end rentals, WITHOUT telling me, only after I checked with the rental company did I know before the wedding. 6 weeks before our wedding we broke our contract, got our money back and went with a much better company and were very please. Bait and switch, really horrible people. Beware! -
