Highly recommend!
We absolutely cannot recommend them enough! Theyve done our engagement photos, wedding photos and now maternity pictures. They are so timely and professional but most importantly they are creative and incredibly passionate about their work and the details. They make you feel so comfortable and beautiful. We look at our wedding pics everyday nearly 9 months later and our every time we watch the wedding video it brings tears to our eyes. They are seriously the best in Columbus. -

Rick and Liz photographed and filmed my wedding in September, and they were phenomenal. They were incredibly easy to work with from start to finish, which made the entire day feel effortless. I’ve received countless compliments on both my photos and my video. They captured every aspect of the day beautifully and even provided raw footage of everything. We especially loved how many photos they took of our guests—it was such a great addition to see everyone’s reactions throughout the night. Beautiful work!
My husband and I used Rick and Liz on our wedding day and all I can say is how blown away we were by the photos and video we received. The quality of work left us speechless.
One thing that I really enjoyed was the guidance for poses throughout the process. It’s hard sometimes to think of poses beyond a normal couple’s pose and Rick was full of suggestions and beautiful shots. One thing that was awesome was the mini firework they had brought to capture some really fun shots with the firework going off behind us.
The turn around time on the photos was amazing and took only about a week. The highlight video provided by Liz took our breath away. So much thought and care went into the compilation of our day and is something we will cherish forever.
It was so difficult to select only a couple of handfuls of photos from our big day when they all were so beautiful! I also included two photos from our engagement session, also done by Rick. Will definitely use Feelstory again in the future and recommend to anyone looking for a photographer. -

I was worried about feeling awkward taking so many photos, but Rick was giving us direction and calling out poses that made our photo sessions very easy, and consistently checked in on us to ensure we were comfortable. We hired Rick from Feel Story Creative for our June 7th wedding, and I truly can't recommend him enough! From the start, Rick was timely, professional, and incredibly easy to work with. He had such a flexible and positive attitude—even when our groomsmen showed up with swords and had very specific (and slightly chaotic!) ideas for photos. Rick rolled with it all and brought those ideas to life perfectly.
One of the things I asked for specifically was lots of candids of our guests, and he delivered. So many beautiful, emotional, joy-filled moments were captured—and looking through the photos feels like reliving the entire day. He truly has an eye for capturing the feeling of each moment, and we’re so in love with how everything turned out.
To top it all off, Rick turned around the edited photos incredibly quickly, which was such a gift. We’re so grateful we found him. If you’re considering Feel Story Creative—do it. You won’t regret it. -

Hiring Rick with feelstorycreative was hands-down one of the best choices we made for our wedding day. From the moment we met him, we knew we were in good hands. He is not only incredibly talented, but also kind, calm, and so easy to work with — exactly what you want on such a special (and sometimes chaotic) day.
He captured every moment beautifully — the big ones, the in-betweens, and the ones we didn’t even realize were happening. Looking through our photos feels like reliving the day all over again. The lighting, the emotion, the attention to detail — it’s all there. Our families and friends haven’t stopped raving about the pictures either!
How Rick captured our wedding surpassed what I could’ve imagined or asked for - the way he catered his talent to our personalities was above and beyond. We couldn’t be happier with our photos! Rick and Liz are an amazing team to work with. Our wedding day was captured beautifully. They went along with our idea to take pictures outside in the freezing cold and the pictures were absolutely worth it. The turnaround time for our photos was incredible. We received our photos 3 days after our wedding. We can’t wait to see the video! Prior to our wedding, we did engagement photos with Rick. We initially hired Rick (Feel Story) for our engagement photos to get a feel for how we worked together and to see his editing style. After receiving the photos, we were blown away and knew without a doubt we wanted him to capture our wedding day. We also decided to hire his wife, Liz, as our videographer, and it was the best decision!
Rick and Liz are an incredible team—efficient, professional, and a joy to work with. Having a winter wedding comes with the challenge of limited daylight, but they handled it seamlessly, ensuring we got all the shots we envisioned. And the turnaround time? Absolutely unbelievable. We received our wedding photos in just three days!

Cannot recommend Rick & Liz more! Two of the most talented and generous people. They shot my sister’s wedding in Columbus in 2024 and we loved their pictures so much we asked them to come to Philly to shoot our wedding- and they said yes! The pictures truly speak for themselves; some of the pictures we received left us speechless (specifically our golden hour shots). Romantic, sultry, fairytale, playful….a few words that come to mind after viewing our album (which we had in less than a week after the wedding- insane turnaround). We are BEYOND excited to see the video! If you are getting married, you need to reach out to Rick & Liz, they are worth every single cent and then some. Where do I even begin!? I booked Rick & Liz to capture our day almost 2 years before our wedding, and I could not have made a better decision! My wife and I got married on 12/12/24 in Pennsylvania. We originally knew of Feelstory because they shot my sister-in-law's wedding in October 2023. The quality of the photos and the videos really stood out to us when we saw their wedding photos & video. I reached out to Rick & Liz last December 2023 to inquire about them coming out to PA to shoot our wedding and they graciously accepted the invitation. They are responsive, communicate very well, and a pleasure to work with. They captured the "feel" of our wedding perfectly and our pictures came out stunning. They were organized with the timeline of the day and had creative & unique ideas for pictures that came out incredible. We were stunned by the beautiful photos Feelstory provided of our special day. Not only were the photos amazing, but we received them very shortly after our wedding day. I don’t even know where to begin.. We had the honor of meeting Rick a year before our wedding for our engagement shoot and my husband and I can feel very shy/goofy when it comes to us getting pictures taken but Rick made us feel so comfortable and calm! And the cherry on top was how OBSESSED we were with the photos! Fast forward to our wedding, knowing we didn’t have a single worry and then we met Liz!!! WHAT A DUO!!! We cannot say enough great things about Rick & Liz!! I found Rick on Instagram summer 2022, I knew we were getting engaged sometime in the fall and had reached out about an October 2023 wedding. Rick & Liz didn't have any October dates left sooo, we booked our wedding for October 2024 around a date they did have and it was the BEST decision we made!! The 2 year wait was more than worth it! I'm biased but I have never seen better wedding photos than what Rick captures. There are moments from the day I don't even remember happening / remember him being away from us to get but he got it ALL!! Rick & Liz are truly a power duo - THE dream team when it comes to wedding day. Rick is creative and like a tornado to get every shot and angle, Liz is the calm to reel everyone back in. They are perfect together. We got over 1300 photos back IN 4 DAYS, which is unbelievable! Not to mention, they're all fantastic - I need a new house to hang them all in(; When it comes to a wedding, you can plan every detail and spend whatever cost, but in the end, all you have left are the photos / videos. Invest in your photo/video team. Rick and Liz are worth every. single. penny. And more. Fairytale like photos!
Rick & Liz were so amazingly talented and very professional. Our experience with him was amazing. The day of the wedding they were on top of everything, very friendly and professional. Their work is breathtaking, our photos look like they came out of a fairytale book and they came within days after our wedding!! I couldn’t recommend them more. Rick and Liz were amazing! I’m so glad we went with Feelstory for our wedding. They did a great job keeping us on time which was very important to me. They got incredible shots throughout the day, we continue to get compliments on all our photos! They worked great on their feet working with the light and architecture around us. You can see their passion and skills while they work. I was very impressed with their creativity. Highly recommend for any occasion!
Another note, they got the photos back less than a week later… we got to look at all the photos while still on our honeymoon! -

Perfect Wedding Photography
Rick and Liz did a phenomenal job at our August wedding. They photographed our engagement photos prior to the wedding and spent nearly a full day with us finding the perfect locations for shots. They were highly communicative leading up to the wedding answering all of my questions. Rick even helped me work through my day of timeline in advance over the phone to ensure there would be enough time for the pictures I wanted without sacrificing being present at the wedding. The photographs we received from our wedding are above and beyond our expectations. Rick and Liz showed up early for the wedding to allow for detail pictures. During the wedding, Rick and Liz were creative and open to ideas. Our edited pictures were returned within the week which is unheard of in wedding photography! Book with the best!
Let me just start off by saying Rick is AMAZING! We booked him for both our engagement photos and our wedding photos and were literally blown away each time! He was awesome at suggesting poses, locations, etc. that delivered amazing photos. Our wedding album was filled with posed pictures as well as a ton of great candids of friends and family members. He captured some of the most memorable and small details. In addition, it was extremely meaningful the he was so flexible and patient with all of the hiccups of our wedding day and still delivered amazing photos that we will cherish forever. The pictures and video we received from our wedding day are better than we could have ever imagined! Rick and Liz captured the day perfectly. I was so impressed with how fast the pictures came back, and the video not long after. We got our pictures back in less than a week. Something that Liz suggested for our wedding video was to get footage of us rock climbing since it is a big part of our story. She drove an hour on a Sunday evening to capture the most incredible footage. Our video wouldn’t be the same without it. They truly captured who we are perfectly. -

Rick and Liz did our photography and videography for our engagement photos and wedding, and they were amazing! They didn't miss a moment all day with the thousands of photos taken and every video angle imaginable! They accommodated any pose or area we wanted without hesitation. I wish I could give Rick and Liz an infinite amount of stars. Rick did our engagement and wedding photos and Liz did videography for our wedding; we truly could not be happier with our experience. They so perfectly captured our day, the spirit of the event, the emotions throughout, the pure joy, everything. They got all of the details, angles, light, and we all had fun doing it! Rick gave us a collection of polaroid photos at the end of the night too, and it was so special to be able to have something tangible that immediately. Rick also delivered our album within 48 hours of the wedding - which is absolutely MIND BLOWING given the exceptional quality AND quantity of photos we received. Our jaws were on the floor the entire time we looked at the album. We absolutely LOVE every single photo. Everyone we've shown photos to has said they look like the belong in a wedding magazine, and we could not agree more! Their work is gorgeous, timeless, and powerful. Looking at the photos, you can feel the joy, excitement, happy tears, laughter. Feelstory was one of the first vendors we booked and, aside from marrying my husband, was the best decision we made throughout the planning process. We are so, so grateful we found Rick and Liz; they truly captured the essence of our day, our love, and our family. Honestly. I would recommend them to anyone 100 times over if you want an incredible experience, an incredible team, and an incredible result. -

We found Samos Photography online and immediately fell in love with their photography style. We had Rick and Liz do our engagement photos as well as our wedding photos and video and could not have been more pleased with how everything turned out! Rick is insanely fast at returning the edited photos to you and also provides you with the raw footage as well (not all photographers do this!) All-in-all everything from the quality of the photos/video themselves, the level of service Rick and Liz provide, and the price of it all cannot be beat. Love Samos Photography!!
We did our engagement and wedding photos with Samos Photography, and I can't say enough how wonderful they turned out. Rick is very creative when guiding you through different photos. He is incredibly responsive, which eased my wedding planning nerves. Their turnaround time on pictures is faster than anyone I've heard of, and they are also very affordable compared to other photographers/videographers. One thing I love is that Rick always captures moments, not just posed positions. You can feel the joy and love in every photo, and it takes me right back to my wedding day.
We also did videography for the wedding - Liz was wonderful to work with (they are a husband & wife duo!). We can't wait to see the finished product, as all their other videos are amazing. -

Everything we wanted
Rick and Liz were amazing to work with. They captured our day perfectly. We loved working with them. They guide you in how to pose and what to do, they give you ideas, but also go with your own ideas as well. They arrived early, sent our edited wedding photos back very fast (2 days), they have reasonable pricing, and they work well as a team. I honestly do not know why anyone would use two different companies for photography and videography when you can get it all in one place. Alone, photography is amazing and alone, videography is amazing. We were fortunate to be able to book both with them and both end results were astonishing. We couldn’t ask for a better duo to work with for 11 straight hours on our wedding day. They are so fun, passoniate at what they do, and excited! The positive vibes are important during a photo shoot and Rick brings it. You can always hear his excitement in his voice. I highly highly recommend using Samos Photography. We wouldn’t want to use anyone else and we looked around for photographers; we didn’t just pick the first ones we found. Samos Photography has amazing pricing for all the best quality photos you get, and his photography style and lighting is exactly what we wanted. We were incredibly happy with our 900 edited photos, access to all the raw photos, and the amazing video. The video is 100% worth it as you can re-live your wedding day over and over. Booking Samos Photography was the best choice for our wedding day. -

My husband and I got married in quite possibly the most unpredictable year (Nov. 7, 2020) -- and speaking as a "Covid Bride," who is also a perfectionist ~let's be real~ I was OCD about every little detail~ ;) One thing that was for 110% certain was our experience working with the Samos Team. Because when it comes down to every other little wedding detail, you want your photographer and videographer to be the best -- and Rick and his lovely wife Liz were exactly that!
Not only are they EXTREMELY talented, they are so warm and genuine to be around. My husband and I felt completely relaxed and comfortable during our engagement shoot and wedding day working with their team.

Rick is very responsive and has such a creative eye. We loved the photos from our engagement and wedding! I got my photos so fast, about 2-3 days! My only regret was not making enough time for the park photos for a beautiful background, I allotted about 2 hours of photography and who knew with weddings that still isn't enough time! I wish I could've put this as a priority rather than worry about other stuff because photos are your memories!! -

I can't put into words how much I love his work. I found Samos Photography on Instagram. When I saw Rick's page, I knew he was the one. At first he wasn't available for my date, but luckily (for me), he had a cancellation and fit me in!! My husband and I unfortunately didn't get our engagement pictures done with him, but once we booked him for the wedding day he was very communicative and we put together a timeline beforehand. I was a little nervous since we hadn't worked together before that day, but Rick made everyone feel so comfortable and gave us the direction we needed (our group was not used to professional photography/never had pics done). Our pictures turned out FANTASTIC as I knew they would. I love the pictures before and during the wedding. I am incredibly happy we got to book him! I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone looking. Kiara Sent on 09/25/2020Summary: We’ve shot with Rick four times (dating shoot, engagement shoot, dress shopping and wedding pictures) and we highly recommend his services.
So we first met Rick back when he was just getting started. He contacted us that he was building his portfolio and starting his photography business. We did a shoot with him at Goodale park in spring and the pictures were beautiful! So much so that people thought we had gotten engaged! Fast forward to a few years later when we actually got engaged. We quickly booked our photoshoot with Rick, who was easy to work with and very responsive during the scheduling process. We were extremely happy with our engagement pictures. A few months later I was searching for my wedding dress and he had the idea to take pictures of this process. I highly recommend this to brides. Seeing pictures of your face when you first see yourself in a wedding dress brings back great memories. I took my mom, my aunt and my MOH/sister and I love the pictures of their reactions to seeing me in a wedding dress. This is something fun for brides to do to capture those special moments. Finally, the big day! So overall we were very happy with our pictures! A few things I want to recommend to brides. First, I wasn’t sure I needed pictures of us getting ready with our bridal party, I’m so happy Rick recommended taking pictures of this process. These pictures are so much fun. Second, I recommend getting a second shooter. Having a second shooter allowed for plenty of pictures of the bridal party getting ready, even though we were at two separate houses. A second shooter also allows for different angles when walking down the isle and throughout your photoshoot. Lastly, I recommend booking Liz for videography. This is a very special day and having the raw footage and the summary video (check out his Instagram and website for samples) is great to share with family and capture the happiness of that day. The photos are of beautiful quality, good quality editing (you are not airbrushed beyond recognition and the lighting was very well edited my venue had dim lights for dancing), the summary video was great and lastly, you get all pictures and video back from Rick quickly. Overall, we’ve had a great experience with Samos Photography and recommend his services. 🙂 -

I would like to share my experience with Samos photography. I do recommend him big time. We hired Rick for our wedding. He did an amazing job with our pictures. Even tho it was his first Lebanese traditional wedding which is something new to him, everything turned out absolutley gorgeous. Rick was incredible to work with, and our pictures were absolutely beautiful!!!! We ended up getting married during COVID on our original date and had a super small ceremony/reception. Planning during this time was kinda stressful, however working with Rick was nothing but stress free, easy, and positive! Rick was super responsive, energetic, and worked ALL DAY to get every single photo we wanted and more! He returned our photos quickly, and they were stunning! We stumbled upon Rick when beginning our wedding planning journey (pre covid) and I couldn’t imagine having anyone else capture our perfect day and being apart of this crazy process to get married. Rick and Liz were an absolute pleasure to work with. They traveled to Cincinnati for our wedding and despite never visiting the area they beautifully captured the essence of the city in our photos and videos. The moment we got to the photo location, Rick immediately knew where and how to place us and the wedding party for amazing shots. We were nervous about our timeline because we had to drive to our reveal location and didn't think we would have time for photos at the ceremony location before guests arrived but Rick and Liz were so prompt and moved with perfect precision that we actually finished our reveal and wedding party photos quick enough to get the photos at our ceremony location along with an additional outdoor courtyard location that we never anticipated having enough time for! Our wedding party commented multiple times how impressed they were with the energy that Rick and Liz brought to the group.
It's a terrifying experience to pay many strangers for wedding services with the hope that they show up and help to stay on your schedule. That was probably my largest wedding stress/fear but I was never nervous with Rick because he stayed in touch with us often and was extremely quick to reply any time we had questions and overall left us feeling comfortable and confident from the first moment we spoke with him.
We could not be more happy with the elegant highlight videos and the hundreds of artistic, beautifully edited photos along with thousands of raw photos that have some fantastic and hilarious candid shots of everyone having a great time! We were shocked with how quickly we got our photos back. Rick and Liz left for vacation the morning after our wedding and STILL had our photos to us before we even got home from the honeymoon! Incredible! And the wedding video followed by just a couple of weeks. I've never heard of anyone getting their wedding photos and/or videos back so quickly. While engaged we kept hearing again and again from other married couples to invest in our photos that we will look back for years to come. So when we came across Rick’s page after looking for months we were in awe of his work. My husband and I got married in September and we decided to look for photographers that weren’t local being a lot of the local photographers were very pricey and a lot of the pictures looked very similar in styles. We decided If we were gonna spend a decent amount of money that it was work that was different and very romantic looking. Rick made sure to ask us what photos we wanted to replicate that we had seen on Pinterest etc and mapped out what the wedding schedule would look like. On the wedding day he helped keep me calm with staying on time with everything and was so friendly to all my friends and family. We received our photos about 4 days after the wedding and we cried when we got the photos they were beautiful. Rick continued the week after wedding to ask if we wanted any differently edited, throughout the entire process he was so friendly and willing to go above and beyond. I would totally recommend Rick and I hope to be able to have him capture us again in the future. -

Amazing Photos!
Have you ever looked at a Photograph and immediately felt something? Then Samos photography is for you! Rick captured how I feel about my husband in a photograph. I wanted photos that showed the undeniable love we have and I was blown away by how many touch my soul! He made us feel natural and comfortable. I can’t say enough how much I love my photos and it’s an unbelievable deal to receive ALL the photos that we’re taken. I got them back WITH EDITS included in LESS than 48 hours after my wedding which is unreal. You won’t find photos this amazing at such a good price anywhere else. It’s not just photography, these are my forever memories. Impressive Work
Rick was awesome to work with and we loved his vision and style for our wedding photos! His background in model photography definitely shows in his work. We both love the way we look in our photos. His unique eye for place and perspective made for some fantastic shots. He made quick work of our family photos and was always ready to roll with the punches. Amazing energy! What's his secret? Also collaborated well with our videographers (Nathan from Prodigy Cinema). Make sure you plan enough time to get all the shots. Rick and Liz Najjar are absolute professionals and talented artists. Hiring Samos Photography and Videography was the best choice we made for our wedding. They wanted excellent pictures and video just as much as we did for our day, which is a real rarity. We knew when we booked Rick for our wedding that he could easily charge 3-4 times as much based on the quality of his photos. We also immediately took to his enthusiastic and friendly personality. Communication was always quick and clear. Later on in the process, Rick contacted us asking if we needed a videographer, since his wife, Liz, was available. Little did he know, our videographer had suddenly cancelled on us. We watched one of Liz’s videos and cried because it was so thoughtfully crafted. We were so happy we got the chance to hire her as well! The day of the wedding, they arrived promptly and got straight to work. At this point, Liz was very close to her due date. We couldn’t believe the amount of energy and drive she kept up the whole day! The guests and wedding party loved them. They guided us through different poses, making sure we looked natural and beautiful. They also made us feel like a million bucks, always saying how amazing everything was looking. When I said goodbye to Rick after the wedding around 10 pm, he said he was going to go home and start editing. I mean, WOW. He sent us the edits the next day. Liz sent the video a couple days later. I’ve never heard of that quick a turn around for either photography or videography edits. Many friends and acquaintances said they were the best wedding photos they had ever seen. We agree! We will cherish these for the rest of our lives! And we hope we get to stay in touch with Rick and Liz because they are truly wonderful people! What a power couple! -

Wow, there is so much we could say about choosing Rick and his wife Liz to capture our day. Filled with so much passion for what they do, they kept the focus on us and from beginning to end I had no doubt they were capturing moments we would look back on forever.
When choosing a photographer we were hesitant because we weren’t sure if there was a perfect fit for us. My husband is shy in front of a camera and having shot weddings myself, I wanted to make sure whoever we chose was flexible and fun. Extremely happy to say Rick and Liz were our perfect match. Incredibly warm to our friends and family, everything was smooth beginning to end.
Our photos are beyond what I ever imagined, crisp and creative but showcased who we TRULY are. Incredibly fast turn around and I love how we are able to choose our favorite raw files to be edited, keeps the process very personal! Rick even surprised us with smoke bombs for our Bride/Groom shots! Never thought we would get to do that and so glad we did.

Rick did such an amazing job! I couldn't ask for any better. I did my wedding and my reception on two separate days, he was so nice to be able to go to both places. Jaw Dropping Photos
We met Rick a few years ago prior to getting engaged and then married. From the start, he made us comfortable. Which was big for my now husband, as he was super nervous for his first shoot ever. And of course, the photos turned out great!
Since that first shoot, Rick has always been informative, with great communication (esp when I had questions) and open to new ideas. I felt heard with my ideas as well as being open to Rick’s suggestions as we worked together.
Next was our engagement shoot - gorgeous photos. Couldn’t have asked for anything more. I was so excited to use them for our save the dates!!
After that, I did a bridal boudoir shoot. I have done these before, but for those who haven’t - Rick was so professional and lets you take the reins on comfortability. At this point in time, I was also not physically where I wanted to be and I felt GORGEOUS during the shoot and was blown away by the pictures. They are now something timeless that I can look back on as my body changes and ages. It’s an eternal value!
On our wedding day, it was rainy. Which as a bride-to-be really bummed me out. But with Rick’s experience, he gave us the best indoor location and it honestly could not have worked out any better for everyone. He also suggested to me early on to get our bridal party clear umbrellas in case it would rain - and they were so cute to see everyone walk around with!
I could go on, but all-in-all, Rick does amazing work and is a great person. I constantly get compliments on our photos and people asking who did them.
Next up: maternity shoot??? -

My fiance and I had the pleasure of working with both Rick and Liz for our engagement/wedding photos. We LOVED what we got back. They were both so gracious in the midst of COVID and helped us figure out pricing, patiently waited as our ceremony plans were in constant change and were EXCELLENT at communicating. Rick got our photos back to us so fast, and generous let us pick many more to have edited later! My husband and I are a little camera shy so if you are similar, I suggest asking for as much direction as possible - Rick brings tons of energy and I was impressed with how many great candid shots he was still able to capture dispite our rigidity - ha! -

Wonderful quality + a turnaround you won’t believe!
The quality of our wedding photos + video are incredible, beyond what we had ever imagined! Not only do they look amazing, but we were able to view everything only 2 days after our wedding (what!?)!

We chose Samos Photography for our wedding based on the creative vision we saw in the photos, and Rick did not disappoint in producing visually stunning photos of our wedding day. Rick seems to be a creative type, and though we had to reach out to him a few times to arrange the final planning meeting, on the actual wedding day he was flexible and unobtrusive while also suggesting great ideas for photos and use of the lighting. He helped come up with a plan to try for sunset photos in a field of sunflowers, which turned out amazing. I would definitely recommend Samos Photography for the quality of the photos you'll end up with. -

I DO NOT recommend Samos Photography.
We didn’t have a good experience with their customer service provided through the COVID-19 pandemic.
We made the unfortunate decision to reschedule our wedding due to family concerns with the virus, and large gatherings. Through the process, we expressed our concerns to Rick and those concerns were met with financial up-charges. After leaving a review out of emotion and displeasure, we’ve removed the review at the request and respect of Samos Photography, we aren’t here to push any business away from Rick and his wife. This review, however, will be factual and in good heart.
Rick admitted through the process that he should’ve handled the situation with a more professional attitude, and more of a customer service mindset. He did not. Instead, he emailed my fiancé and threatened her. He threatened action to post negative reviews (from him and his friends) on my fiancé’s employers website, which he has no connections to and is not involved with. Rick is threatening legal action for defamation. Through the first amendment of the United States constitution, we have every right to post a negative review of our experience. He immediately followed up with another threatening email about legal action and demanded we remove our first review, and we had 24 hours to do so. We definitely did not expect to receive threatening emails, but we did. After reading other negative reviews, we’ve seen criticism and displeasure turned into questionable behavior from Samos Photography as a defense mechanism.
We wish the best for Samos photography and the future of their work together, but we DO NOT recommend their services. I do recommend reading through all of the reviews, both positive and negative. Samos photography is claiming we’ve tried to extort a refund, and demand a refund of our retainer. This is all untrue, we actually advised in our email correspondence that we understood we wouldn’t receive that back, and didn’t even ask for it. -

We booked Samos for our photography and videography at our April wedding. Unfortunately COVID lockdown hit one month prior, and we had to postpone the full 125 guest wedding but were determined to have a tiny ceremony with 8 people. We asked Rick to be there to take photos and he agreed, but in finalizing details he was negative and pessimistic, telling us we should postpone and that it would be “so sad” etc. We were already so upset by the situation and that my parents couldn’t be there (due to living in the UK) and I didn’t want any further negativity at my ceremony to ruin that day, so we agreed with him that he would do the full wedding as planned whenever we were able to reschedule. We went ahead with the small ceremony and had a close friend take a few photos. When Rick saw these photos on Instagram he bombarded me with messages, seemingly shocked that we had gone ahead, despite me telling him all along that we would have the ceremony on that weekend as planned. These made me very uncomfortable and I did not like his accusatory tone. His first message began "Ah geez Amy..." - not exactly the level of professionalism I want from someone I am paying nearly $3000 for a service. I had had reservations when we first met him because we showed up to our appointment at his house and he was asleep in bed, and after waking up didn't seem to know our names, or venue or date...but I had put it down to a simple mistake. I told him I think it is best that we do not keep him as our future wedding photographer as we no longer feel comfortable or trust him with our wedding day. He bombarded me with message after message on Instagram all night. I sent him a polite and firm email the next day explaining my position and asking for a refund of our $800 deposit (saying he could keep a few hundred to cover the “free” hour long engagement session). He apologized and accepted responsibility and even asked for forgiveness, but refused to refund us and now we are down $800 on top of all the stress of having to replan our wedding. I am sure his photos would have been wonderful as he has a lot of happy customers clearly, but for us we would rather lose the $800 than pay him thousands more to eventually cover our wedding.
edit: in response to Rick's response below, I want to clarify because he is either confused or lying. I did not ever expect any service for free, and the only reason we did not use him for the small ceremony was his negativity surrounding go ahead with it. I wanted to spend the entire day feeling happy and positive and he continually pushed me to postpone. He later said "I would have done it for free" to which I responded "Then why were you charging us $900?" We would have essentially paid $900 for the small ceremony, plus the $3000 later on for the full wedding. Which was totally fine with us, until he started being so negative. He has a way of twisting your words and only hearing half the conversation. I highly recommend only dealing with him via email and message so that he cannot claim you told him something that you did not.
