Perfect Rainy Day Wedding!
This venue was not only adorable and intimate, but it was extremely accommodating for our hectic, rainy day NYE wedding. The staff was so nice and helpful; they were easy to contact and worked to make sure every detail was set in place. Best Place to Get Married
We absolutely loved getting married at Farmer's Branch Historical Park. We were married in the historic church by our pastor, and had an outdoor reception in the meadow. The Dodson house worked perfectly for getting ready and for our cocktail hour. They even offered touring two buildings during cocktail hour for guests who wanted to see more of the park. Kim, the manager, is very responsive and accommodating and help to make our wedding planning process a million times easier. There's an industrial kitchen that we use for flowers and for the cake before the wedding which came in really handy. Another convenient thing is because the historic church is not affiliated with a larger church you can play any music you want. Anyone looking for either a garden or church ceremony with an intimate reception indoors or larger tented reception should absolutely consider Farmers Branch Historical Park! I can't imagine getting married anywhere else.
Update: I found out later from family why we were being rushed out before our time was up. The person working that day had the wrong time we were supposed to leave by an hour. My family didn't tell me that day because I was the bride. Just double check with them and your family/planner the end time. It caused a ton of stress and we were rushed out and still had to pay for that 30 min after we left. I would have never changed where we got married, but I would have given my family the contract to be able to push back when we were being rushed out incorrectly. We absolutely loved getting married at Farmer's Branch Historical Park. A Wonderful Hidden Gem
This venue had everything we hoped for. Beautiful outdoors grounds, a lovely chapel and reception hall on site. It was quaint and lovely, perfect for our small wedding. The venue coordinator answered all my questions, even a few last minute ones the week of. Lovely place, so glad we found it.This venue had everything we hoped for. Perfect wedding venue for a perfect wedding ❤️
Kim was amazing to work with. The intimate wedding was beautiful (at the 1890's church). They were very accommodating and helpful, the venue(s) and park were clean, beautiful, and very picturesque. Everything our bride needed and wanted for her special day. Would highly recommend!Kim was amazing to work with. The intimate wedding was beautiful (at the 1890's church). Best Little Wedding Chapel in DFW
If you’re looking to get married in a chapel, then Farmers Branch Historical Park is the place! My daughter got married in the 1890’s church with a reception in the Dodson House. Everything was beautiful and Kim was a pleasure to work with. She was so helpful during the pandemic to make sure my daughter got the wedding she dreamed of. If you want an outdoor wedding the park has several beautiful locations that would work including a gazebo, rose garden, large trees. And best of all, it was very affordable. If you’re looking to get married in a chapel, then Farmers Branch Historical Park is the place! The Easiest Part of the Wedding!
Finding a venue could not have been easier! Kim was responsive and helpful from the get go. It is a small venue but it perfectly accommodated the size of our wedding. If you're looking to be cost efficient without sacrificing the magic I would highly recommend this place!Finding a venue could not have been easier! Kim was responsive and helpful from the get go. Storybook Wedding
I just had my wedding in the branch and it felt like a fairytale to me. The venue itself is gorgeous and is blooming with flowers and greenery. It is also a huge venue that gives you many opportunities to take fun or romantic wedding pictures. The bathrooms have just been remodeled and it looks amazing! We had our wedding in the Old Church within the venue and the church felt intimate and beautiful. It is teeming with so much history and character. It feels amazing getting married in a structure that so many other couples have been united in. The church has a piano one can use during the ceremony, and it is traditional for the bride and groom to pull the rope at the entrance of the church and ring the church bells at the end of the ceremony! Originally our plan was to have our reception in the beautiful gazebo area, but a storm the night before my wedding made that impossible. Although I was devastated by the storm, the team at the venue did everything in their power to make sure that my wedding remain just as special. Luckily the venue offers a backup plan for the gazebo area which is the Dodson House. The house is beautiful and cozy but pretty spacious for a small wedding. It is also air-conditioned which is ideal for wedding in the summers. Kim Chapman who is in charge of the area is an amazingly kind and patient woman. She walked me and my husband through the entire process, made recommendations for a wedding block at a hotel, and got us our sound permit at no additional costs. Multiple times she and the staff have given us tours of the venue so that we could show our parent and in-laws our vision for the wedding. At the wedding Kim Chapman, gave us a beautiful gift from the venue's gift shop to always remember our special day. Also, the venue gives you the options to buy and engrave a brick to be installed onto the venue so that you could leave your mark for only $50. The cost of the venue was affordable especially with the significant discount they give you if you do a room block in one of their listed hotels in Farmers Branch. My wedding did not go exactly as plan, but it was even better than I thought it could be, and in a place radiating with such beauty and history, you can't go wrong. Perfect for a small second wedding, or any wedding for that matter!
We had a small ceremony and wanted a quiet, intimate spot. It was perfect! The staff was accommodating and kind. Having the handicap ramp was a huge help for my Mom. We wanted a vintage & fun place...and the park was perfect! We knew we were going to have a small gathering and the church and Dodson House were just what we had in mind. The weather was also perfect that day! I couldn't have asked for anything for me. Kim Chapman was always available when I had a question. And when we were on property, Rich was there for any of our needs. Awesome people! We wanted a vintage & fun place...and the park was perfect! I love the staff at Farmers Branch Historical Park! They have been so nice and so sweet!
Willing to work with us about not having all of the documents ready to go the day we signed the contract.
This is a public park that is open most of the year. They have really cool Historical events and a killer Christmas display. So if you are wanting to take a look around you can. Just ask someone before going in the home.

We had a wonderful wedding at the Historical Park though that was not our first plan. Our first view of both their wedding spots we really wanted out entire wedding at the Rose Garden but with the extreme, drought ending rains in Texas we went to our back up plan at the Historical Park. Kim and Niery are great to work with though they are not there on weekends even for weddings on their property- we only had one issue, the one person there locked the church and was no where to be found to unlock it so we could do our send off.We had a wonderful wedding at the Historical Park though that was not our first plan. Pandemic Wedding post February Deep freeze
If you’re looking for a beautiful, unique outdoor wedding venue, look no further than the Farmers Branch Historical Park. From the old church to the different settings around the park, you’ll have many great places to have your wedding ceremony and/or reception setting. The flowers (if the wedding didn’t come after the deep freeze) will give your wedding pictures nice coloring. The staff is courteous and helpful. The only caveat is you’ll have to pay for extra furniture rentals as well as decorations if you choose to have outdoor setting for reception. The park doesn’t allow access to their furnitures for outdoor use so budget for that. We did not get that clarification until later in the confirmation process, so we had unexpected last minute extra costs from having to rent furnitures for our outdoor reception from an outside vendor. If you’re looking for a beautiful, unique outdoor wedding venue, look no further than the Farmers Branch Historical Park.
