If we could give more than 5 stars, we absolutely would! Hosting our son’s wedding reception at The Cohen House on March 14th was an unforgettable experience.
From the moment the evening began, everything was flawless. The wait staff was exceptional—warm, attentive, and consistently complimented by our guests. Their level of service truly elevated the entire event.
And the food… wow. After our tasting, we had a small concern about whether it would be just as good on the big day, but it exceeded every expectation. Every dish was absolutely delicious and a standout highlight of the night.
Most importantly, everything ran so smoothly that we were able to relax and fully soak in such a meaningful celebration. That peace of mind is priceless.
This wasn’t just an event—it was a once-in-a-lifetime memory. We are so grateful for the care, excellence, and attention to detail that made this night so incredibly special. -

Nicole and Parker’s wedding
Susy and her team at Cohen House did an exceptional job of creating a beautiful and memorable wedding for Nicole and Parker. The courtyard setting with the lit up oak tree and fountain was gorgeous and all the guests loved how the fountain started at just the right moment. It was such a nice touch.
The place settings were very elegant and the food and beverage service was excellent. Nicole and Parker enjoyed having their signature cocktails featured at the reception.
All the vendors from the photographer, to the florist, to the DJ that Susy has on her preferred vendor list went above and beyond, and knew exactly what to do. I highly recommend the Cohen House at Rice University for your wedding! It was exactly what we hoped for.

A Perfect 10/10 Experience!
We recently hosted the anniversary celebration for Vecor at Cohen House, and the experience was nothing short of flawless. A huge part of that success was thanks to Susy, who guided us through the entire process. She was incredibly professional and worked closely with us from the initial planning stages to ensure everything stayed within our budget without compromising on quality.
The venue itself is stunning, providing a beautiful backdrop for such a special occasion. What truly sets them apart is their flexibility; unlike many other venues we toured, they were very accommodating with our timeline, allowing us to extend the party past midnight for an additional fee. The entire staff is professional, attentive, and genuinely kind. We have absolutely no complaints and highly recommend Cohen House and especially working with Susy for any high-profile event! -

We are incredibly grateful to have hosted our wedding this past March at the Cohen House! It is a gorgeous, spacious, and bright building, staffed with excellent people, from food and hospitality to logistics. We had a traditional wedding ceremony outside under their beautiful live oak tree, and a Korean Paebaek ceremony inside their living room space, each space accommodating our 150 guests. They have many amenities that make wedding planning so much more stream lined (easy parking, linens and napkins, tables and settings, etc), and everyone who works there is top notch. We also did a mostly DIY wedding with no outside wedding planner, and everyone at the Cohen House was incredibly helpful, flexible, and responsive. We had the pleasure of working mostly with Susy, who was so enthusiastic, energetic and encouraging. She really helped us with our decision making and feeling confident about the whole process.
The food was excellent and everyone loved it (the little harissa lamb ribs at cocktail hour were a HIT!). The drinks were special (we had both a mocktail and cocktail). Everything is made in house, with a wide selection of choices and dietary needs met easily.
We truly enjoyed our wedding. So many people came up to us and told us it was the best wedding they’d ever been to. Our other vendors were also really impressed with the team at the Cohen House. They made our day truly perfect, thank you!!! -

Susy and her team are absolutely AMAZING! We were looking for a unique venue for our son’s rehearsal dinner, and Cohen House is it! It is in a lovely setting on the campus of Rice University. In addition to being beautiful, the food is absolutely delicious. Susy and her team are flexible and eager to exceed expectations. Highly recommend! -

A huge thank you to the House staff for making our wedding day so special! From the months leading up to the big day to the event itself, their premium service was exceptional. They took care of nearly every aspect, from the incredible food options to the table setup and the beautiful garden setting—everything was perfect! The entire process was seamless, and we've received amazing feedback from our friends and family, who called it one of the best venues they've attended. The Cohen House Team was really wonderful to work with for our wedding - very professional, kind, and thoughtful people. The venue was perfect for our wedding and we utilized both the building and the outdoor garden. The architecture was very timeless and classic, and we loved that we didn't need to "fill" the space with too much decor. All food, linens, tables, chairs, flatware, cups are part of the venue. I appreciated that many offerings were included for us. Some things to consider: (1) guest parking for wedding day is $10/car if paid for by the bride/groom. (2) full shots at the bar are not allowed due to it being a college campus, so we had mixed shots. Some guests felt they were very watered down. (3) Sparklers for a wedding exit are not allowed. (4) Staff had limited working hours during summer and winter breaks as they follow the school schedule. All in all, I wish I could have my wedding all over again at Cohen House! -

The Cohen house is an incredible venue located right in the heart of the Texas Medical Center. It was absolutely gorgeous, spacious, and very well decorated. The team was incredibly helpful and responsive throughout the entire planning process and helped to accommodate many of our requests. We had a gala for about 325 guests and there were still plenty of space to dance, take pictures, and talk with one another. Their food options were incredible and delicious and their dessert bar was stunning. The lights and fountain in the yard was a great place for people to take pictures and hang out by. Everyone had a great time and I am consistently receiving compliments about the venue selection. Not to mention, the venue cost was very reasonable. I would highly recommend your celebrations or weddings to be at the Cohen House. -

Cohen House is a beautiful venue for a wedding! The grounds and interior are laid out so well and the reception was wonderful with delicious food and decorations. In addition, Susana Rodriguez (Susy), the Sales and Events Manager, was amazing in every way -- she is organized, attentive, helpful, and an all-around asset to any wedding planning. She worked so well with all of our vendors, and her staff was fantastic and presented a lovely event that everyone enjoyed. I highly recommend Cohen House and am so glad we had our event there. -

The best company party!
We hosted our annual company Christmas party at The Cohen house and it was the best one yet! Susy and the entire team were so kind and helpful throughout the planning process, and the evening of our party couldn't have gone smoother. Luke & Lizzie Rehearsal Dinner and Post Toast
The staff at Cohen House, specifically Susy, were so helpful and professional from the very beginning of our working relationship. She had great suggestions, was flexible and executed flawlessly.
We used fabulous living room and cocktail are for cocktail hour. Dinner in main dining room, then Post Toast inside and on the patio. Susy and her staff had everything perfectly set up. All we had to do was to set up more candles, photos, registration table and

The entire faculty at the Cohen House made sure that our wedding was the perfect day! They met with us multiple times to ensure the food, drinks and timeline were what we envisioned and wanted. The staff the day of made sure that every drink was filled, all the guests enjoyed their meal and that everything was taken care of. I cannot thank Susie, Julie, all of the waitstaff and bartenders for all of their help making our special day worry free. -

Stunning venue with character
Would highly recommend the Cohen House as a wedding venue! This venue made all of the difference when it came to the overall success of our wedding. Not only is all food and beverage done through Cohen House, Susanna is the event coordinator and she is extremely helpful and is there every step of the planning process. The food was fantastic, our guests were all so impressed by the quality of both dinner and dessert options! The Cohen House itself is beautiful. The main event space has gorgeous floor to ceiling windows to view the courtyard that looks amazing both during the day and at night with a giant tree strung in twinkle lights. I felt like we didn’t have to worry too much about having a lot of decorations or huge flower installations because of how stunning the venue was. -

The Cohen House is a dream location to have your city wedding. We got married under the most beautiful oak tree and only had to walk about 30 feet to be at our cocktail hour and reception. Several guests commented that this was the best wedding food they'd ever had. The team was helpful and professional from start to finish. The space is large and there are many different rooms to be used throughout the event and they think of it all. Rice University if also a great place for pictures as there are many picture perfect places throughout campus. -

Quinceañera at Cohen House
We recently hosted my daughter's Quinceañera at Rice University Cohen House, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. The entire experience was truly remarkable, from the exceptional staff, to the delectable food, the enchanting atmosphere, and the stunning venue.
First and foremost, the food was a culinary delight. The Chef at Cohen House exceeded our expectations and left our guests raving. The dinners provided were a work of art and a burst of flavor. We had a chef in attendance and he said that in all of his years of work he had never had a dish so delicious as the one he had that evening. The attention to detail in the presentation was evident, and the quality of the cuisine surpassed all expectations. Our dinners arrived warm and ready to be enjoyed.
The atmosphere at Cohen House was simply magical. The historic and elegant setting added a touch of sophistication to the celebration. The beautifully landscaped gardens provided a picturesque backdrop for memorable photographs, and the well-designed interior spaces were perfect the reception. The combination of classic and modern elements created an ambiance that perfectly suited the occasion. Our DJ added ambience lighting that only enhanced the beauty of Cohen House even more when the lights dimmed for the father daughter dance.
The staff at Cohen House was exceptional. They were not only professional but also incredibly attentive to every detail. They ensured that everything ran smoothly, and their dedication to making our event special was evident in their every action. I can't thank them enough for their warm hospitality and outstanding service. From the moment we walked in Mary and her staff were ready to assist in anything that we needed. Susana was ready at a glance's notice. They read my mind before I could even speak!
Lastly, the venue itself was a gem. Cohen House's architecture and timeless beauty added a unique charm to the Quinceañera. It's not just a place; it's an experience, and I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful backdrop to celebrate this milestone in my daughter's life.
Rice University Cohen House exceeded all expectations and made my daughter's Quinceañera an unforgettable experience. The remarkable food, enchanting atmosphere, attentive staff, and stunning venue combined to create a night of joy and lasting memories. I wholeheartedly thank the staff at Cohen House for such an incredible evening and taking my vision and turning it into a reality. -

Wonderful experience! Terrific staff and food!
We decided to move our wedding up almost a whole year due to our little bundle deciding to make a surprise appearance right before our original planned date. This left us only 2 months to plan EVERYTHING. I am so glad we decided to have our wedding at Rice (my alma matter) because Crystal (and staff) were AMAZING. We ended up having both the ceremony and reception at Cohen House. The food was delicious and really a steal compared to what other venues were charging. The whole event turned our way better than I could’ve imagined and it really was thanks to Crystal. She was so sweet and very prompt/responsive. I was initially overwhelmed but Crystal was just the best and i have to say the day of was pretty stress free. -

From the day we contacted the Cohen hHouse until the day of our reception, we thoroughly enjoyed working with Crystal and her team. Crystal was detail oriented and really made our day "picture perfect".
We got so many compliments on the beautiful venue, welcoming staff, and delicious food.
Typically at weddings, the food is mediocre at best. This is NOT the case for the Cohen House. The food was incredible! It was cooked perfectly and so so SO good! -

Our favorite day!
Susy and the team at Cohen House gave us and our 180 guests an incredibly memorable and beautiful day this April! From the food, beverage, rain plan (which we did have to activate), we could not have asked for more. I would 100% recommend Cohen House to any couple considering getting married in Houston. We wanted a unique, intimate yet grand location within the loop, and this was the perfect place. -

Gorgeous venue inside the loop
If you want to get married inside the loop, the Cohen house is the best bang for your buck. The venue is gorgeous, classic, and has been standing for like 100 years. The outdoor garden is beautiful (with real grass, not turf), and the food is good because it's not from a mandatory outside caterer like other venues require. The ability to have the reception and ceremony in one place is invaluable!! Rice campus is beautiful for pictures. Would highly recommend! -
