Kelly at Face the Occasion was amazing!

Kelly was very professional and so helpful. The trial went perfect and she really worked with me to obtain the best look. She is super friendly and easy to talk to and made me feel comfortable right away. My bridesman also was there for the trial asking if she could help with oily skin on the day and she included him in the trial run to show what she could do for the day.

For the wedding she was absolutely patient and wonderful when we last minute added a couple more people who wanted makeup at the last minute. Everyone looked beautiful and I felt so happy and beautiful on my special day. My only regret is I will never look so good again!!! 😂. Thank you, Kelly!!! 💗

Kelly from Face the Occasion was fantastic and I'm so happy with my decision to work with her for my wedding day! She did a trial for my mom and I, and she incorporated all of our feedback and made us feel 100% comfortable about wedding day. She did such a beautiful job creating a natural, elevated look for myself and my girls on my wedding day and the makeup lasted the whole night (and into the next morning because I had too much fun to take it off). She is the sweetest and makes you feel at ease in her chair. I highly recommend!

Wedding makeup

We had the pleasure of working with Jill. This woman is AMAZING! She not only did an amazing job on 3 bridesmaids and the bride (I was a bridesmaid)..but also saved the day! 6 days before the wedding our original hair and makeup people canceled and also the brides dress was ruined by the alterations crew. Jill responded within 12 hours of me reaching out and she was so flexible and helpful! She even helped by giving options for other dress shops and alterations. The day of she was prompt and so wonderful. She fit right in with everyone and made sure to ask questions and listen to what we wanted. If I could give her 10 stars I would! Hire this woman and I promise you you will look and feel beautiful and feel like you've known her your whole life! Thank you again Jill!

Face the Occasion, and Kelly specifically, was one of the best decisions I made during wedding planning. For whatever reason, choosing a make-up artist was one of the hardest things for me, and I ended up doing three trials. I really wanted to look and feel like myself, just a special version, and with other artists, I didn't feel like myself afterwards, and I didn't feel as if they were communicative enough to help me figure out what I was looking for. Kelly was so incredibly kind, patient, and talented. She spent so much time with me at my trial and made me feel instantly comfortable. I felt flawless on my wedding day, and my bridesmaids that had their make-up done kept coming up to me and saying, "Your make-up artist is seriously GOOD." Everyone's make-up still looked great over 10 hours after it was done, and I am so appreciative of Kelly for being so open, so talented, and so kind. Kelly was amazing !!! Makeup is so tricky for a bride and one of the most important things to go right for the day. I was so afraid of not looking like myself but Kelly nailed it. Makeup stayed all the way until brunch the next morning. I was so happy with the results of Kelly's work.

Face the Occasion did the make-up for 10 girls on the day of my wedding and we all looked beautiful. My wedding was October 2016 and we worked with Jill from this company.
We used this company for my sisters wedding in 2011 and their prices have stayed very similar to then and are very reasonable.
Jill met me a few months before the wedding for a trial and then did great work on our wedding day. She was on-time, friendly, really knew her color palette and really tried to see what each client preferred for her day of wedding look.
I highly recommend giving Face the Occasion a call!

Kelly was amazing! She addressed every concern my bridesmaids had about their makeup and did touch ups at the end to make sure everyone looked fresh. She arrived early to set everything up and was perfectly on time (even ahead of schedule). My makeup, bridesmaids and mothers makeup were flawless and lasted all night! Even with the heat on our wedding day the makeup still held. Even traveled for trial and to our hotel the day of the wedding so we didn't have to worry about traveling at all! Such a great choice! Would recommend for anyone!

Kelly was far and away the best possible choice for my wedding makeup! She is not only a true professional, but she is incredibly talented. It doesn't hurt that she may be the sweetest person you'll ever meet. She responded to my request for information and questions regarding the timeline almost immediately. She listened to every crazy concern (please make me look natural, but not like I don't have makeup on!!! & what happens if I break out the morning of the wedding?!) with genuine interest and put my mind at ease. I just knew she would make me look amazing. And she definitely didn't disappoint! I felt so beautiful the day of my wedding - thanks to Kelly. Darien and Kelly, who are makeup artists for Face the Occasion, were my stylists for my wedding for me and my bridesmaids. They were awesome! I mainly worked with Darien and she brought in Kelly when I asked to hire two artists for the wedding. Darien is so talented and does a really great job with makeup. She can make you look like Kim kardashian or as if you hardly have any makeup on-- she does it all. I went for a more natural look for my wedding, and it was perfect. I received so many compliments on how beautiful I looked and natural. Darien was so sweet and very easy to get in touch with. She came to my apartment for my trial! Her partner on the wedding day, Kelly, was also super nice and talented. My bridal party looked stunning. I will definitely be going to Darien again!! You can't go wrong with these ladies.

Kelly was fantastic. She came to my parents' house to do a trial on the week I happened to be in town, and knew exactly what I needed to look flawless and natural at the same time. My makeup lasted for the whole wedding (including pictures outside and crazy dancing), I got tons of compliments, and I love the way I looked in the pictures I've seen so far =)

Kelly did my makeup for my wedding and was incredible to work with. I credit her with helping to make me feel the most beautiful I have ever felt! She came to my house for a 1.5 hour trial and during this time she truly listened to what I had to say in order to create my perfect look and play up my features in a natural way. On the day of the wedding, she was attentive, flexible and efficient with her time. She was also extremely calm and patient, and brought a wonderful energy to the bridal suite. I hired Darien from Face the Occasion for the make up service for my May 2015 wedding. She was extremely professional, and very fun and easy to work with. Darien came out to our home to perform the make up trials and then to the hotel on the day of the wedding. She did an amazing job of applying make up to my wedding party, who do not typically wear much make up. We all looked natural, just a better version of ourselves. I've already seen photos from the wedding and our make up was perfect - not too much or too little. I would highly recommend working with Darien and Face the Occasion for you wedding make up.

I was so relieved to find Kelly.... she did a beautiful job while keeping us all true to ourselves. I had several disastrous trials with caked on make up etc. Not only did Kelly do a beautiful job, she is lovely to work with and is quick without making you feel rushed. Kelly is absolutely amazing! As soon as I finished my trial appointment with her, I knew I made the right decision booking her. Since I had never had my makeup done professionally before, I was really nervous about having it done for my wedding day. Fortunately Kelly was really attentive and took the time to listen to all of my concerns. She was really responsive to all of my emails and always was prompt in responding.

On the day of my wedding, I absolutely loved my makeup! My skin looked flawless and I felt beautiful. I didn't look like I was wearing a ton of makeup either--it just looked natural and was exactly what I wanted. It also stayed put all night through all of the tears and dancing! Kelly also did my sister's makeup which looked amazing.

I wouldn't hesitate to use Kelly again and have already recommended her to my friend who is planning her wedding!

Jill was an incredible makeup artist with patience, skill, and an amazing ability to take one picture and create a work of art! Jill completed various makeup trials from her home for my mom, my sister, and for me. She was incredibly patient as we changed our minds and worried about covering up blemishes. On the day of, she matched the energy of our day and was able to complete just the looks all the girls were looking for. Face the Occasion provided makeup services for my June 2014 wedding. From the beginning, Kelly was wonderful to work with. She was quick in her response time, and was very helpful in answering my many questions! She was extremely professional, and very fun and easy to work with. Everyone in the bridal party loved their makeup! For me personally, I was worried that my makeup would look overdone or out of place on me, since I don't typically wear a lot. Kelly did my makeup and the makeup of my two bridesmaids and mom. I was SO happy with the results all around! At the trial, she listened to what kind of look I wanted (I'm a makeup fiend, so I had some ideas, haha) and she created something that was SO beyond what I could have done myself, at that moment I was grateful that I hired a professional. It was glamorous without being overdone. Kelly flawlessly contoured my eyelids using some warm khaki shades (she even showed me her technique), applied a strip of black liner, and added some false lashes, and I loved the result. In terms of foundation, blush, and lips, she recommended some great products and shades that I ended up purchasing and am still using on myself on a near daily basis. On the day of my wedding, my makeup lasted all day long, and though I brought stuff to touch up, I hardly needed to touch my face, except to redo my lips. The other ladies in my party reported the same. Getting ready for my wedding there was a bit of a time crunch when it came time to do my makeup, but Kelly worked quickly and it still came out exactly like it had in my trial. She is an absolute pleasure to be around, and I would use her again in a heartbeat! I can't wait to get my wedding pictures to see how it looks!

No running makeup!

I danced and sweated for several hours in a warm ballroom and still looked as crisp as I did when I got my makeup on that morning. Jill did a wonderful job on me and my wedding party. She was warm and friendly with my makeup-shy mama, and worked quickly to make sure we were done with plenty of time to spare.

I was told I shouldnt skimp on my hair and makeup, and so I searched for makeup artists that were rated 5 stars. Face the Occasion (FTO), rated five stars and let me tell you, they deserved this and more!

I was fortunate to have Kelly (one of the founders) as my artist for my day of services. She was absolutely talented, but reasonable with prices. She did makeup for myself, 2 bridesmaids, my junior bridesmaid, my aunt and my mom and it was all just under $400. Everyone loved how they looked.

Being the bride, I had a trial with her. Our wedding was held in the Philly area, but I lived in Central Jersey. We corresponded via email on where the best place for me is to have the trial. She was so flexible that she even asked her mother-in-law for us to have the trial at their house! Thanks Kelly!

On the day of the wedding, Kelly brought her notes on what we did on the trial. I originally wanted a very natural look, but when one of my bridesmaids suggested for the photographer to take a picture of me with makeup on, I decided that I wanted more color. Kelly was totally ok with that, and she was happy enough to cater to the changes I had requested. I am very happy with the results, everyone kept telling me how great I looked, haha!

Kelly lives up to FTO's Five star rating. I absolutely recommend, and if you can, ask for Kelly :)

I had talked with a few make-up artists who had an additional fee for just booking the appointment (not a deposit to be applied to the balance, but an additional fee). I found this to be highly unethical, so I was very picky about my choices. I was very happy with Face the Occasion. I originally spoke with Kelly, who was very nice and flexible. She then told me that Jill was going to be available on my date. Jill was fantastic! She was very accommodating with my maid of honor who wanted a specific look. She made us both look beautiful! :-) Even friends from work who saw pictures noted how amazing my make-up looked. And it was fun talking about our Bay Area connections.

Darien and Kelly were our make-up artists for our wedding. They were fantastic! Prompt, professional and so much fun to be with! A few bridal party members were worried about looking too "overdone", but Darien and Kelly made us all look like better versions of ourselves! Jill from Face the Occasion did my makeup as well as that of my bridal party, my mom, and my grandmom for a total of 9 people. She was amazing! She highlighted everyone's best features without making anyone look over made-up. I even had a bridesmaid decide to get hers done after adamantly being against it once she saw how everyone else looked. My makeup looked fantastic the entire day (a good 14 hours), and didn't smudge at all during any of the several times I cried (happy tears!) during the day. I highly recommend Jill and Face the Occasion!

Kelly did makeup for myself and all of my bridesmaids. Kelly came all the way out to Cairnwood on the day of the wedding to do our makeup and was actually there before I even arrived!

Between dealing with time constraints, last minute "ooh actually can I get my makeup done too?"s and the full brunt of our bridal crazy, Kelly somehow managed to make each one of us look beautiful, unique, and magazine quality pretty. I was BEYOND thrilled with my Bobbi Brown makeup (which did not smudge or budge all night!) and moreso with kelly's friendly, upbeat, and professional attitude and easiness to work with. Kelly (and Face the Occasion in general!) was one vendor I knew I never needed to worry about. If I ever need my makeup done in the future I know exactly who to call.

Bottom Line: Face the Occasion uses Bobbi Brown makeup (my favorite!), comes to wherever you are (which takes A TON of the guesswork out of how your bridesmaids will look!), and respond promptly and professionally to any and all questions you may have (at least in my experience). They are very affordable, but well worth every penny.

Janet Indorf did the makeup for me, my bridesmaids, and the mothers on my wedding day, and we all had such a good time! It was a great way to spend time with the girls, and the makeup came out great and looked so good in the photos. A couple of my bridesmaids aren't big makeup wearers, so I wasn't sure how they would handle it, but Janet does a great job of keeping everyone in their comfort zone. She also arrived early, and was able to work in my mother-in-law even though she wasn't initially on the itinerary. It was a great experience!

I was also looking for artists with convenient locations for a trial, since going outside the city would have been difficult for me. I ultimately chose Face the Occasion on their value and their online portfolio. They suggested for me to work with Janet Indorf, and she was FANTASTIC. My mother in law even said to me that if she ever wins the lottery she wants to hire Janet to do her makeup every day! She was really great. At the trial, she was good at giving some suggestions and opinions, but also really listened. On the day of, she did my makeup, three of my maids, and two moms. Everyone was extremely happy, and she made everyone so comfortable. A HUGE thanks to Janet for making us gorgeous!!

It it time to stop looking for a makeup artist and book Face the Occasion! I am SO glad I did! I saw Kelly's work in an issue of Wedding in Style magazine and knew I had to have her do my makeup. Kelly has been a pleasure communicating with during the wedding planning process. She always provides a detailed and quick response which I loved.

My mom and I recently had a trial for my wedding with Kelly. She was fabulous! Kelly is a skilled professional who is passionate about what she does. Kelly did an amazing job on my bridal makeup as well as on a few of my bridesmaids and my Mom. Everyone looked fabuloous - glowing without looking overdone. Kelly really listened to what everyone wanted and delivered on their visions.

I was introduced to Kelly by a friend of mine who had Face the Occasion do her make up for her wedding. She kept telling me about her wonderful experience, so I booked a trial. I highly recommend Face the Occasion. JIll did the make up for my wedding along with my mother, grand mother, and bridesmaid. I don't usually wear makeup and was extremely pleased with the job she did and my make up was still perfect by the time I got to bed!
I don't live in the area so I was nervous about finding someone but after I had my trial at her house I felt very confident about the actual day. I was running a bit behind the day of my wedding and when I got to the hotel she was set up and super patient with me!

Kelly is an amazing professional and I am so glad she did my makeup. And talk about patient! I am from out of town (live in San Diego) and when I was unable t meet with her during the holidays, she went out of her way to make sure I had a trial prior to the wedding, And then on the day of the wedding, we ended p adding TWO people for makeup and she jumped right in without complaint. And they all looked wonderful. Loved the eyelashes!

As fr as my makeup—WOW. M skin looked flawless. My eyes were huge. And I think she managed to take ten years off—no idea how. Lol And the makeup stayed on all night ad still looked good even after the dancing.

I recently had my makeup trial with Kelly for my July wedding. Kelly was so prompt returning messages, even from the beginning. She did a fantastic job on my makeup and even let me change my mind on my eye-shadow color, only to change it back again after deciding I liked the original better. She gave me plenty of tips on what to look for in my makeup as I wore it the rest of the evening, so that we can make adjustments if needed for the big day. I am looking forward to having Kelly working with my bridesmaids and I on my big day!

Kelly Quinlan is an expert at making you look natural and beautiful for your special day. She takes your suggestions into account and doesn't do anything that puts you outside your comfort zone. My wedding photos were fabulous and my makeup didn't budge the entire day.

When I met Janet Indorf of Face the Occasion, my first thought was “I can trust this person!” Not only does Janet have years of experience, but she knows exactly what bridal make up is supposed to look like. You will never leave her chair looking like a clown, which I did when I had trials with other make up artists. Janet responded to my emails quickly and looked at all the pictures and ideas I sent her and she made me feel ok about being a paranoid bride. She showed up on time, worked efficiently, was even able to squeeze in a few last minute people and had me ready in time for pictures. Not only is she a nice person, but her work is truly beautiful. I had people in my wedding party who never looked better!

I don't typically wear much more than eyeliner and mascara, so having my makeup done made me nervous. Kelly at Face the Occasion provided makeup services for my 10/9/11 wedding. She came to our house and did makeup for me, my mom and MIL, and my five bridesmaids. I swear, it seemed like she worked on me for 15 minutes and suddenly I was the most beautiful I've ever been. She completely understood how to bring out my natural beauty and play up my eyes, as requested. And the makeup lasted the whole day, through pictures, the heat of the outdoor ceremony (84 degrees in October!), and my sweaty, sweaty dancing. I haven't gotten most of my pictures back yet, but from the few I've seen, my makeup photographed really well too. Kelly is also a doll to work with; very friendly and easygoing. As I said above, Kelly also provided makeup for my bridesmaids and the mothers. While I had a trial run beforehand, Kelly had to do makeup on the spot for the rest of them, and she knew just what to do with all their different skin tones and requests. They all looked so wonderful; I was in awe of how amazing the bridal party looked and so happy to see them so beautiful. Kelly is truly a genius.

I worked with Jill from Face the Occasion for my wedding day makeup. She also did the makeup on the Mother of the Bride and two bridesmaids. It was very easy to work with Jill. After putting down a deposit, we met for one makeup trial. She was so personable, warm, and friendly…she really put me at ease. The trial was easy and we worked together to tweak some things here and there. She uses the best makeup products and I was impressed with her ability to recommend colors.

On the day of the wedding Jill was ontime (actually she was EARLY, and waiting for us when we arrived). She started makeup and I actually enjoyed having her in the bridal suite. Conversation flowed with all of the ladies and she helped to put nerves at bay. Her work was beautiful – I cannot imagine my wedding day without the makeup artistry she provided. She was easy going and helpful.

I would absolutely recommend Jill and Face the Occasion. It was worth every penny and I’m so glad to have had her help with our wedding day!

Jill did the makeup for 2 of my bridesmaids and myself. She did such a great job and was so patient with all of us. The price did give me a start when I first heard it, but my one bridesmaid had used them and recommended them. The price was well worth it. My make-up turned out beautifully and it lasted throughout the day and night. Face the Occasion will travel to you on your wedding day, depending on how far they have to go and parking there may be costs associated with it but I think that is still worth it with them coming to you.

I'm so happy with the services provided by Face the Occasion! Our stylist was Kelly. She came to our apartment for the trial (so convenient) and spent nearly 2 hours with me - figuring out the right shades, etc. She quickly responded to any emails I sent leading up to the wedding. Day of, she showed up on time with her complete makeup kit and a beauty chair to sit in while being beautified. Everyone looked gorgeous! Kelly listened careful to feedback in real time, so she could adjust the makeup look as she was doing it. She is so receptive to feedback - it's clear that her main goal is to please her clients. I wanted to make some changes to my look from that at the trial, and she executed them flawlessly. She stuck around after everyone was done for touchups/ adjustments, too. Not to mention, her services are very affordable compared to the rest of the market for onsite wedding makeup. Kelly has a gift for making you look flawless and formal yet still natural and not overdone. My makeup lasted all night, through dancing, sweating, and hugging - and only required a couple applications of blotting paper to control my shine (I admittedly have very oily skin). Kelly from FTO was a pleasure to work with. She was very flexible in booking the trial and the makeup for the day of the event. She came to our home completely prepared (makeup chair and all). Kelly listened to what I was looking for and delivered. I was married early in the day and then had a black tie at 7pm that lasted until 5am. I never had to touch my makeup the entire day. The pictures were perfect. I looked like myself only better! Thank you Kelly.

I had my trial and make-up done by Kelly and she was fantastic! She made sure to ask after each phase to see if I wanted less or more or anything. She was very receptive and personable. She came to my house for the trial and my moms house for the wedding day. She was on time and brought all of her own supplies. She made sure the bridesmaids were happy with their make-up and provided touch ups before she left. She was great to work with!

If you are the type of bride that can sit back and go with the flow and trust that everything will be fine with minimal supervision, then I would recommend Face the Occasion whole-heartedly 100%. If you are a bride that like myself, places an emphasis on quick/easy communication, having a vendor that puts you at ease and instills you with confidence, and gets stressed out when that doesn’t happen, I might recommend choosing another vendor for beauty services.

I will begin by saying that I looked amazing on my wedding day and could not have been happier with my makeup. I looked great, felt great, had amazing photos and got many compliments on the look. However, everything leading up to that point had been a struggle with this vendor.

The bad:

- Any time I attempted to communicate with her via email, it took a significant (anywhere from 1-2 weeks) to receive a response.

- After initially confirming in April/May that there was no contract or any deposit needed to hold my October wedding date, Jill contacted me in July to ask if “I was definitely going to use her on my wedding day.” And to tell me me that now I should be sending her a deposit.

- Two weeks prior to my wedding, I sent her a detailed email that contained contact info for myself and bridal party, location and phone number for my hotel, and times that we needed to start/end by. I received no response after a week. I attempted to call her, but her cell phone is not set up to receive voicemail. She called my number later that day when she saw she had a missed call. I asked if she received my email, she said that she had. I asked if she was comfortable with all the information I provided and if she had any questions. She said she was all set. At 3 PM on the day before my wedding, Jill called and asked “Which hotel are you staying at again?”

- At my trial, she had instructed me to buy two products – a blotting powder and a certain shade of lip GLOSS (let’s say “dusty rose”) that she had used on me that day. As I got into the chair the day of my wedding, she informed me that she “knows she wrote down what we did at our trial, but she can’t find it” and asked “I told you to get “Ruby red lipstick” right?” (Basically the trial was a complete waste of money as my look at the trial and day of was completely different.)

The good:

- I LOVED my makeup look on the day of and liked it significantly more than my trial.

- She showed up promptly and finished myself and the bridesmaids makeup in the agreed upon time.

- Jill is a friendly, talented artist who has been in the business for many years.

- Convenience of having the makeup artist come to you.

Again, I could not be more happy with how I looked on the day of my wedding, but it was very frustrating and at times, stressful, dealing with Jill to discuss details leading up to the wedding. I do not consider myself to be a very high touch customer, but I do like to be reassured that my vendor is aware of all the details. I am also disappointed that I spent $75 on a makeup trial and that she did not even bring along the sheet of the colors/look she created on my wedding day and instructed me to purchase a lipgloss in one shade, but ended up using a lipstick in a completely different shade.

I would recommend FTO to a friend, but with all the disclaimers mentioned above.
