The best of the best!!!

Exquisite events is just simply amazing. Scott and the team are true seasoned professionals who handled my wedding so beautifully and responsibly. From the first time we sat down with Scott, to the last final meeting and communication we were so happy and felt very well taken care of. When I walked into my wedding and saw all the work in full execution I was amazed. EE brought my vision to life. From the wine barrels and candles to the string of lights and chandeliers, we received compliments all night. Scott and the team are a JOY to work with and made planning so much easier. I can’t thank them enough. You need them to work your wedding!!!!

Happy bride and groom

My parents hired Exquisite Events to plan my wedding, and it was a wonderful decision. They did a fantastic job communicating between everyone-- their team, the vendors, my parents, my in-laws, and us-- and still letting the wedding be completely ours. They have so much experience and so many ideas for every detail, but still gave my fiance and me the time to make decisions for ourselves at every opportunity (and that's what we wanted!). The result was a beautiful wedding and party, filled with personal details and things we loved, and I had absolutely no stress on the day about how things would turn out. Everything went completely smoothly from my end and I know EE works hard to make that happen.

Fantastic Reception at Home in Newport

Exquisite Events (EE) helped us plan our daughter's wedding in Newport RI. Every detail was planned and executed perfectly. I don't see how anything could have been done better. We held the reception at our home, so every detail had to be arranged independently. EE guided us to outstanding vendors, and also worked extremely well with those vendors that we chose ourselves. EE provided an excellent and very accurate spreadsheet of all the expected expenses, and the price ranges for each. This was extremely helpful for planning and choosing different options. The entire EE staff was very responsive over the course of two years of planning for a post-Covid wedding. The other vendors clearly had tremendous respect for EE. One of our meetings with the caterer included our great wedding photographer, and she observed that she had never previously been to a meeting where that caterer had sent their lead event manager to someone's home. Another guest attended a different wedding where one of our vendors provided a lower level of service than what they had seen at our daughter's wedding, and when asked about that the vendor admitted that they always make sure to do their best work for EE because they rely on them for future business and EE demands excellence.
At the reception, the EE staff were everywhere. No detail was overlooked, and EE's owner was present, active and working hard the entire evening.
One of our friends described the reception as a party for the ages, and we could not have done it without EE.

Nancy and her team are the absolute A+ standard when it comes to wedding design and decor.
Her vision, professionalism, and communication are best in class. One of the highlights of our wedding was seeing all the decor come to life!! And EE did not fail!!! Highly recommend.

Truly the Best

Reflecting on our daughter's wedding in Newport in August 2019, I can't say enough good things about the hard work of the Exquisite Events team. Stephanie felt like a friend - who literally was there to patiently answer every question and get ahead of needs we didn't know we had. Stasia was so wonderful every step of the way - it's just too hard to summarize the perfection of our experience. Having had experience with planners in other cities, I can truly say that Exquisite Events is the best of the best. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our daughter's and her new husband's celebration so perfect - not one detail was overlooked and not one person's needs were missed.

Couldn't Do It Without Them!!!

We signed on with Exquisite about 9 months prior to our wedding. We had already done what felt like the bulk of the planning such as venue, transportation, room block, entertainment, photographer, etc so we hired them to assist us in the final month of the preparations.
We believed we were already on top of everything and pretty close to being done with the planning process but we learned pretty quickly that there was so much more that we had not yet considered. Exquisite helped us tie up our many loose ends and bring many more ideas and details to our big day. Exquisite is a small company with only a few members of the staff so they limit how many weddings they take on and are able to really focus on each individual event. Being small made it really easy for us to get in touch with Stasia, Nell and Stephanie whenever we had questions or ideas to incorporate into our day. We were going to have a hell of a wedding anyway but Exquisite addressed so many little details that brought our wedding beyond our wildest imaginations. This team is very experienced and they have planned many weddings and other events. They have seen just about every wedding idea out there and helped introduce new ideas for our wedding day and most importantly they knew how to bring the whole picture together.
Stasia, Nell and Stephanie stayed on top of us throughout the entire process. Their attention to detail helped catch anything from slipping through the cracks. Sometimes it was actually annoying sending emails back and forth daily but that constant contact prevented us from procrastinating so we were able to stay ahead of schedule and enjoy a mostly stress free engagement.
As for the actual wedding they went above and beyond to take care of us and our wedding party. We had the main Exquisite team on site as well as a few extra assistants who took care of every need. Their team basically waited on us hand and foot all weekend so that we could soak up every minute. Wedding weekend they became the jack of all trades steaming our clothing, picking up takeout food and snacks, personal uber drivers/designated drivers/chauffeurs, they stocked up and decked out the marital suite, solved multiple major wardrobe malfunctions, kept us fully fed and hydrated (mostly with wine) at our wedding and best of all they dealt with every single vendor all weekend so that all we had to do was party!

They know the best in Newport

We held our 25th Anniversary dinner dance for 140 people at our Newport home. Stasia and Stephanie brought in the best local professionals for planning, decor, food and music. Our property was transformed without losing its natural appeal. The food was delicious. We enjoyed the tastings and planning sessions and the results were superb. People are still talking about the party 6 months later.

AMAZING!!!!! Make your wedding planning process enjoyable with Exquisite Events

We worked with Exquisite Events for our August 2019 wedding. Their team was INCREDIBLY helpful in making sure every detail of our wedding was in place. They were SO organized, I never would have thought of half of the wedding related items they did. They also kept punchlists for us of what we had to take care of on certain weeks. I never would have been able to manage work and planning a wedding without Exquisite Events. Exquisite Events kept my entire family sane during the process, allowed me to really enjoy the process and ensured that I could still keep up at work. I look back on the entire wedding planning experience with such fondness, in large part because Exquisite Events made the experience so smooth!

Parents of the Bride

It’s hard to adequately express how wonderful it was to work with Stasia Anthony, Stephanie Noel and the entire Exquisite Events team for our daughters wedding. The task was quite complex with the bride and the venue located in two different places on the West Coast and parents living on the East Coast. Another wonderful experience with Exquisite Events!

We recently had the pleasure of working with Stasia and her team on our daughter's beautiful Rosecliff wedding. This was the 2nd time that we enlisted Exquisite Events, as we did so for our other daughter's wedding 5 years ago. Stasia was the first call we made once the engagement was announced.

We could not have imagined a more beautiful, fun or well orchestrated wedding weekend with every detail attended to. While we certainly had a vision for the wedding and the wedding weekend activities, Stasia counseled, advised and assisted with important decisions and choices, from catering and menu selections to the all important perfect band. Angela was an absolutely terrific 'detailer', leaving nothing undone. Darrell and our wedding day attendants were a pleasure to be with, keeping everyone on schedule and making sure there was not a wrinkle in sight. We were able to enjoy the beautiful day without worrying about any of the behind the scenes details.

Stasia is at all times creative, professional and calm, exceeding expectations always. It was a complete pleasure working with her and with her team.

Wedding experts!

I worked with Stasia and Angela to help plan our wedding weekend this past July in Newport. The team made the whole process a lot easier - especially since I was living in NY at the time. They were always available to answer any questions and met with me on various occasions, including at an inivation shop in Brooklyn . They’ve worked with so many vendors in the area and were able to help me find some of the great vendors we chose. They also had no problems working with those I chose that were new to them, including my photographer and videographer. You have to work with so many different people while planning a wedding, and Stasia and Angela helped keep everything organized and running smoothly through the whole process. The day of was comepetly stress free. They made sure EVERYTHING was taken care and that my husband and I were having the most perfect day. We seriously never worried about a thing! They are definitely experts in wedding planning, particularly in the Rhode Island area. I would recommend them to anyone!

Stasia and the entire Exquisite Events planning team were absolutely amazing and are impressively good at what they do. The planning process was fun and exciting with them, and they not only catered to every one of my ideas and visions for my wedding, but elevated my vision to make it something I could have never dreamed of myself. We loved working with the Exquisite Events team to plan and help with our wedding day of! We worked predominantly with Lauren, whose attention to detail and organization is unmatched. Stasia was also instrumental in helping us to think of new or different ideas than we had originally thought of with respect to seating, floral arrangements, table scape, and reception timing/logistics. Stasia and Lauren helped us select excellent vendors, such as a florist, cake, etc. They worked directly with the vendors (even those we selected separately) to really be the main point of contact and streamline communications. Throughout the planning process, Stasia and Lauren were extremely available - we met multiple times in person, they were present at our tasting and working with the venue, and they kept us on target timeline wise by creating monthly punch lists for us. Not only that, but we had SO much fun with them during the planning! They really made it enjoyable and helped in navigating some challenging dynamics like guest list and all of our various family priorities. During the wedding weekend, it felt like we had their undivided attention and support - there was a member of the Exquisite Events team available at every point helping with steaming clothes, organizing breakfast/lunch, making sure we had everything we needed and so did our family and bridal party. Daryl, the team member who was with me most of the morning getting ready, even steamed my dress after the car ride to the church and before the ceremony! Even our guests and bridal party commented on how incredible Stasia, Lauren and team were over the course of the weekend. I'm sure there were minor glitches, but they just resolved everything without my parents and I even knowing! The Exquisite Events team was supportive and helpful at every step of the process, and I can't imagine the weekend without their expertise - I wouldn't change a thing about our wedding day, and it is in very large part to their hard work.

Lauren was great to work with gave us options to choose from and important (for us) was we did not feel pressured to buy anything and other than meeting minimums there was not pressure to go above that. We had out lights and farm tables provided by Exquisite events and loved how they pulled everything together.

As every person planning a wedding knows, it's easy to blow past your budget when you see those things that you never knew existed, but you just gotta have. For me, it was having decoration in the big white tent where our outdoor wedding reception was taking place. The tent itself was beautiful, but the big support poles holding it up were not. That's where Megan and Exquisite Events came in. When my mom called EE, our wedding--which my husband and I tried to pay for by ourselves--was already way overbudget. Megan described what they could do and mentioned the price, which was not astronomical, but also out of the range of a public school teacher and a marine biologist, and my mom said as much. Normally, that's where the conversation ends. But Megan went above and beyond, and demonstrated possibly the most human kindness I have experienced while wedding planning: they decorated the tent poles for us, for FREE. I still don't quite understand how or why, but Megan and EE made the inside of our reception tent look lovely and didn't charge us a cent. For their generosity, experience, and professionalism, I urge you to book them for your own wedding immediately. They are seriously awesome people and awesome designers.

The name says it all. These women run the tightest ship I've ever seen in the wedding planning industry. Stacia and her staff are always on top of their game and no matter what arises, a "Plan B" is always ready for action. My guests were highly impressed and gave this company great accolades on the trolley rides back to the hotels.

They are wonderful. At first I was turned off by them not responding quickly, but 2 years out before the wedding I understand there are higher priorities. Fast forward to the year before the wedding they were on top of things and really did their best to accomadate my budget and vision.

Unfortunatly the day before my wedding we made the decision to move inside due to rain. I was very nervous because some things that I paid for and asked for could not be done inside. But, Lauren was great she improvised and added alot of things I would have never thought of and the room came out absolutly beautiful.

I never wanted to have our reception inside but because of the wonderful job Lauren and her team did I believe it actually turned out even better than if we had it outside like we had originally planned.

It doesn't get much better than this when it comes to wedding planners. I worked very closely with Kristina at EE who is phenomenal. I mean seriously, she is on point. She thinks of everything and is so quick to reply to all of my questions. She was so helpful with everything—for example when we I picked a photo book option but then learned it wasn’t exactly what I wanted, her immediate response was “We’ll make it exactly how you want it!” and she did.
About a week or so before the wedding, we were informed by the hotel where we were having the wedding that we had to end everything outside in the tent an hour early (scary!!) due to town regulations that were now in place. Kristina and Statia immediately reached out to make a plan (saying “let’s turn this into a positive”) and we ended up moving the wedding up an hour so the band could play the full amount of time outside and then we moved inside for a late night DJ scene afterwards and the DJ scene (Stasia & Kristina’s idea) was AMAZING! It was one of my favorite parts of the wedding. I’m telling you these wedding planners are unbelievable. I would recommend them to anyone. They are so detail oriented, on top of things, and most importantly, fun people to work with. I’m just sad the weddings over so I don’t have a good reason to reach out anymore!

How appropriately Exquisite Events is named. The lone thing that Stasia and her team couldn't take credit for was an exceptionally gorgeous day and because everything else was so perfect we wonder if they have weather connections. We highly recommend Stasia, Lauren and the Exquisite Events team! They were fantastic to work with on planning our wedding in Newport in August 2015! They worked with the parents of the bride locally and seamlessly handled long-distance communication with the bride and groom in Colorado by frequent emails and accommodating a few quick weekend trips we made to RI! They were organized, responsive, pleasant, creative and very capable! They provided excellent recommendations for vendors such as Paper Moss for our invitations and our band DeZyne (almost all of our guests were on the dance floor all night)! They handled the creative details that made our wedding so beautiful! We knew that all of the logistics of the weekend were in good hands so we could relax and enjoy the weekend with our family and friends! My husband and I were married this past October in Newport, RI. Stasia Anthony (wedding planner) and her team were absolutely incredible. Their attention to detail and commitment to making our wedding weekend spectacular was so appreciated during such an overwhelming time. Stasia completely took over the week of the wedding and managed EVERYTHING. It’s impossible to imagine our wedding planning process without Stasia Anthony and the Exquisite Events team. As a Marketing Manager with lots of experience curating events, the first thing I did on the wedding planning front was find an outstanding planner. This allowed us to focus on the fun part - brainstorming personal, unique details, knowing that big picture stuff like logistics were taken care of.

I cannot speak highly enough about Stasia and her expert team – including coordinator extraordinaire Lauren Heilman and decor visionary Kelli Dubeau. Managing our off-the-charts level of intricate detail was no easy task (everything from our illustrative local ingredient maps to wildflower ice cubes for the specialty cocktails, to personalized bocce sets). We wanted to do as much celebrating as possible, so our wedding weekend spanned the better part of four days, including a champagne sail, rehearsal dinner clambake, and newlywed brunch (so let's just say they had their work cut out for them).

They quite literally made magic happen. No inspiration or idea was out-of-bounds, and knowing they were having fun with it made the whole journey a blast. We cherished every step of the way with them (from diligently organized planning sessions over champagne in their gorgeous, cozy office to the big day itself!) and far from simply an excellent vendor, we see them as wonderful friends that we feel endlessly lucky to have worked with.

Lauren, please express to everyone at EE who was involved in Kelsey and Bob's wedding our sincere appreciation for all you did to make it the best time ever! What a team! It made it so easy for everyone attending to just sit back and enjoy themselves. If I thought I needed something you guys were already working on it. It was just unbelievable! From the detailed planning and support to final execution you guys never missed a beat! And if we needed to make an adjustment to the schedule you just made it happen. I would certainly recommend EE to anyone who is hosting an event and needs to make sure it goes off without a hitch!

Stasia and her team were absolutely incredible! They have unbelievable vision and our wedding was better than we ever could have dreamed of because of their services. Stasia knows everyone in the area as has exquisite taste. We always valued her opinion and it was very comforting to know she wouldn't let us mess anything up. They provided the lighting & draping at our Blithewold wedding reception. It really brought the tent decor to a whole new level. It was absolutely gorgeous. They were very easy to work with, nice & priced well.

The Exquisite Events team was absolutely incredible and Stasia, Lynell and the rest of the EE crew are amazingly talented at wedding and event planning. My big day was absolutely perfect and I cannot imagine it being so fabulous without the help of Exquisite Events. Their expertise is out of this world and they think of everything down to the smallest detail to ensure your wedding is a dream come true. I cannot say thank you enough for everything that Stasia, Kelli, Lynell and the entire Exquisite Events team did for us throughout the wedding planning process. Every detail of the rehearsal and wedding were exactly as I had dreamed they would be! When I stepped into the tent for the first time I really couldn't believe how truly beautifully it had turned out. Stasia took our vision for the whole weekend made it even more magical than I could have hoped for. Our guests are still talking about what an amazing wedding it was! Stasia and her team were incredibly organized, reliable and professional. But at the same time made us feel like they truly cared about us and about making our wedding day as special as it possibly could be.

The thing that really blew me away was the level of help and care that we were given by her and her staff during the wedding weekend itself. There was always someone there with us making sure every detail went smoothly and anticipating our needs before we even knew them ourselves! There was a moment at the reception that I still laugh about when I cut into my first bite of food and it ended up on my dress. Before I even knew it had happened, Stasia was at my side whipping out a tide pen. I hadn't even known she was there!

Thank you for making our wedding day the best day of our lives!!!

Stasia and her entire team are absolutely amazing! They are incredibly organized and handled everything efficiently, professionally, and with the highest level of taste. Our "day of" team was wonderful and were such a big help getting everyone organized, ready, and looking great. They were a huge part of making sure the wedding party and family (particularly my mother) were stress free on the big day and the days leading up to it. They were so easy to work with and were also fun to have around. Our wedding was absolutely perfect and amazing and I don't know what we would've done without them!

After the initial thrill of our engagement, my fiancée and I quickly realized that we would require more than a little help planning our "simple backyard wedding." We knew we wanted a very personal celebration with friends and family but had no idea where to begin. Our venue, while beautiful and sentimental, was also a seven hour drive away for us and required a lot of considerations beyond food, entertainment and decor...from tents and transportation to fire codes, electricity, parking and restrooms. As expert wedding-guests but novice wedding-planners, it was easy to get overwhelmed with ideas. I feel very fortunate that a trusted friend directed me to Exquisite Events (EE). We were assured that Stasia had the experience, expertise, creativity and organization that would eventually translate into what was for us, the Best Day Ever. As a busy professional and an out-of-state bride, it was very important and comforting for me to have such a competent and cheerful 'local' person organizing meetings with all the appropriate vendors in the very limited time I had available for visits (hats off to Lynell!!!!). I also found that the EE team had invaluable connections to the very best, most reliable vendors; it was through them we were able to find an incredible band (Catch 22 by Dezyne) and a terrific hair/makeup team when everyone else was booked. EE took special care to keep our event true and unique to us; and to make sure that all details (those I thought of, and those that would never enter into my inexperienced mind) were addressed. On the day of the wedding my family and I were able to enjoy the experience confident with the knowledge that we had a terrific team orchestrating every aspect of the event.

If you have any doubt about hiring an event coordinator, share your wedding / event vision with Stasia, over a latte, and your doubt will be swept away! My husband and I were married on 5.12.12 at Blithewold Mansion in Bristol, and neither of us can imagine the weekend without the professionalism, creativity, and care of the team at Exquisite Events. For the year and a half that we spent planning our wedding weekend, we were treated like family - the care and attention to detail our event received was impeccable. As the date got closer, Stasia and her wonderful assistant, Lynell, put our minds at ease, troubleshooting as necessary, and keeping us stress free so that we could enjoy everything without ever feeling stressed out. My husband and I got married last week at Castle Hill Inn in Newport. Stasia and her team went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding was a complete success. All the details were organized flawlessly with the perfect vendors, and with the ability to truly capture our personal style. Looking back on it now, without the help of Stasia and her fabulous team at Exquisite Events, there is no way we could have done it on our own. Stasia is experienced, professional, wonderful to work with, and made all the planning go by so seamlessly. We had the most amazing experience with the team at Exquisite Events Coordination. These ladies approached planning our wedding with an open mind, can do attitude. No matter what hour of the day, they were there to answer questions. We NEVER felt rushed to make a decision, forced to choose a certain vendor, or left to figure things out on our own. They made the planning process the most enjoyable time for everyone involved. On our wedding day, we all had every detail cared to without worry. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!!! They made our vision a reality. There is no possible way that our wedding would have come out as fabulous as it did without Stasia and her crew at Exquisite Events, especially since we were planning the wedding while residing out of state. Stasia and Lynell were responsive to all (and there were many) of our calls, emails, etc. They guided us through the process and helped us make the right choices for our dream wedding. They helped coordinate the activities for the entire weekend which made us feel at ease. So many of our guests commented about how wonderful our coordinator and her team were and how amazed they were that the day went off without a flaw. Our wedding planning would've been a completely different experience if it wasn't for Exquisite Events. Casey at Exquisite Events was everything you'd want someone helping with your wedding to be: extremely friendly, professional, organized, creative, fabulous sense of style and just a genuinely fun person to work with. They had great recommendations in terms of other vendors and I truly felt every idea I presented to them they either "made come true" or added something to it I never would've thought of. We cannot say enough amazing things about Stasia, Lynell and everyone at Exquisite Events. I had an image in my mind not only of what our wedding would look like but also how the wedding weekend would go and everything absolutely blew away my expectations. I was able to completely relax, enjoy every minute and know that EVERYTHING was being taken care of by their amazing team. Even my guests commented on how amazing our wedding planners were. Besides making the weekend such a fun, joyful time for us and our families, Stasia and Lynell made the planning process so much more fun (and less stressful) than we could have ever asked for. My family had two weddings within 3 months and they made what could have been a very stressful time so easy.

I honestly think a huge part of what made our wedding such a blast was Exquisite Events. From the best creative suggestions (Christmas hats on the dance floor) to making sure every little detail was taken care of, they were such a joy to work with. I cannot say enough good things about them. By far the best decision of our planning!!

Choosing Exquisite Events (Stasia, Lynell and the team) as our wedding planner was one of the BEST decisions that we made for our wedding. They made our wedding amazing, so much fun, and anxiety free. They are excellent at their jobs. They think of everything and give expert advice. I was anxious about the planning process (that it would be a pain, stressful, etc.), and once I was in their hands, it removed the majority of the anxiety. They guided me perfectly through the process, and I always felt like they had everything under control. My wedding weekend was unbelievable - I simply can't believe everything they did - AND they did it gracefully and unobtrusively - and they thought of everything. I had zero stress related to planning etc. throughout the entire wedding weekend because they handle everything and ensure it all goes smoothly. My wedding day/the entire weekend could not have been more perfect - thanks to their hard work, experience, perfect touches, planning. I never worried that I forgot or missed something, because Stasia/Lynell & co. had already thought of it, taken care of it, or come up with a better idea before I even got to it. They are amazing. They go above and beyond. I cannot give a glowing enough recommendation of Stasia/Lynell and their team. My wedding was amazing, and they made it that way!

Our wedding weekend was absolutely perfect. Every detail (even those I never would have thought of were taken care of by Stasia and her team). She goes above and beyond to make your event run smoothly. Her staff is friendly, caring and professional and makes everyone involved in the wedding and guests feel extra special. I feel very blessed that I was put into the hands of Stasia and her staff and didn’t think for one moment that my special day would not have meet my demanding expectations. So where do I begin to explain all the wonderful special attention I received, well it first starts with Stasia a charismatic woman herself, she pointed me into a direction of exploring the idea of renting a wonderful estate in Newport, named Wyndham for weekend long of celebration(s) to include: I DO BBQ, the featured ceremony reception, a Sunday Brunch for all my guests as well as incorporating the ability of my family members to room and board with me as I get ready for the BIG DAY! This concept she recommended exemplifies how she is well connected in Newport, RI and has ability surround herself with only the “best of the best” of Newport, RI has to offer from caterers, to florists, clergy and landscape professionals to lightening and décor services: not to mention her partner Exquisite Events Décor, partner Ms. Kelli DuBeau, with the collaboration of both entities these woman and their staff will bring that glamour to life for your special day or event. As an example I asked for a wonderful lighted labyrinth pathway down to the fun and games for my I DO BBQ evening and it was highlight of the grounds at this lovely property that evening.
Lauren Heilman, she is Stasia’s primary protégé in my eyes! Her attention to detail was above and beyond and I had some very small details that I had conveyed and everything was thoroughly executed per my instructions. But this could have not happened if the overall staff at Exquisite Events didn’t work together as team. I had many custom ideas and objects that were all addressed and brought to life in a beautiful manner by EE staff and the outsourced services that were recommended by Stasia and her team. Stacie Anthony and her team at Exquisite Events went far beyond our expectations to make our wedding vision a reality. We can't rave enough about their quality of work and how happy you will be with the end results. They were there for us every step of the way, whether it was choosing the right invitation to set the tone of the wedding to helping us select the perfect menu for the reception. 5 star service all across the board!! Exquisite Events was integral in making our wedding the success that it was. Even with the added logistics of our two wedding day ceremonies (Indian and Exchange of Vows) as well as our Thursday night Sangeet event, Exquisite Events helped to ensure everything went smoothly and that our wedding vision was achieved. Stasia and her team were always willing to help with new requests and accommodate the various needs of our family, and they helped take a lot of the stress out of planning our wedding. One of the most important contributions from Exquisite Events was their attention to detail as expert wedding planners. There were a lot of nuances and intricacies that we would otherwise have not even considered had they not been there to help us. Exquisite Events was excellent and did above and beyond what I was expecting they would do. They were a pleasure to work with, and the result was a fairy tale wedding that my daughter and her husband dreamed of. Beautiful decor, but expensive

We are so happy with how the tent at Blithewold turned out, but we wish we didn't have to spend so much to acheive that look. Exquisite Events offered a discount since the bride the previous night used some of the same decorations, so we really appreciated them working with us, but their baseline prices were pretty high to start. We enjoyed working with the ladies at Exquisite Events and they were kind and did as much as they could to accomodate our budget. We wish that we had the ability to shop around, but due to their exclusive contract with Blithewold Mansion, we had to make a few sacrifices in order to stay in budget.

A great disappointment

We had a disappointing and stressful experience with Exquisite Events of Newport, RI for the planning and giving of a wedding in September 2019.

The EE team, led by Stasia Anthony, was sloppy and disorganized. They were difficult to get ahold of and responsiveness was poor. Attention to detail was lacking and as a result constant mistakes were made, from the reply cards to catering numbers to wedding transportation

As the planning process continued, it became clear that EE was significantly understaffed and overcommitted. Beyond that, Stasia, who had been on our initial calls, became less and less involved as the planning process continued. Instead our main point person became someone who was far less experienced and who lacked both vision and a design esthetic. Of all our disappointments with EE, this and the way in which Stasia comported herself while on site at our home in advance of the wedding, were the greatest.

Here are some of the things that happened:

Stasia’s contract stated that she would need two hotel rooms for two nights for her staff. Instead, she rented a 6-bedroom house for a week and charged us almost 3 times the initial rate quoted. When we raised this issue, there was no response.

Just weeks before the wedding, the transportation vendor who was to shuttle all 200 of or guests pulled out because of their concerns about a lack of responsiveness on the part of Exquisite Events. The vendor told us that he’d made this decision because, based on the total lack of communication from EE, he didn’t trust that the event would actually happen. As a result, last minute shuttle busses had to be secured at a much higher cost.

EE was in charge of coordinating these new wedding shuttles. The shuttle that was to pick up the bridal party and take them to the church never materialized. The entire bridal party had to scramble at the last minute to drive themselves to the church, a half hour away. As a result, the bridal party was late to the ceremony.

The afternoon of the ceremony, per our instructions, a $600 custom aisle runner was installed in the church by the florist. Just prior to the ceremony, this runner was removed by one of the EE staff members (without ever consulting us). It was never returned to us and no explanation was ever provided.

During the florist’s set up in the church, no EE staff were present to assist, answer questions, etc. This was a real source of frustration for the florist and something that he described as “highly unusual”. He resorted to texting the EE team with his questions and the responses he got back were anything but helpful – “Do whatever you think is best.”

Six “transportation concierges” who were to travel on the shuttle busses to make sure “things ran smoothly” never showed up. We were charged for them, nonetheless.

A number of family members told us that members of the EE staff had been brusque and rude to guests in the church and at the reception. When we told Stasia about this, she accused our guests of having been overserved.

Two days before the wedding, when we complained to Stasia about the disappointing level of service, she told us we should have signed up for her “full service” planning instead of her “mid-level” planning. We followed up with her via email to clarify that we had signed up and paid for the “full service” planning. Shockingly, she never responded or acknowledged this egregious error on her part.

At this same meeting, Stasia demanded to be paid in full. We said we weren’t comfortable with that given all of the mistakes that had been made and the conditions of the contract that hadn’t been met. She said if we didn’t pay her in full, she would direct her team (who were en route to the wedding location) to turn around and not show up for the wedding. It was nothing short of extortion. From that moment on Stasia was cold and unfriendly, as were all but two members of her team, casting a negative vibe on what was otherwise the most joyful of times for our family. Amazingly, Stasia left without saying goodbye, nor wishing our daughter well. The lack of professionalism, and humanity, on her part was truly shocking.

When our daughter got engaged, and we made the decision to hire Exquisite Events, it was because we wanted to take at least some measure of stress out of the process. With EE, that never happened. In the weeks and days leading up to our daughter’s wedding, we were stressed and anxious and we never reached that point that so many of our friends had referenced of feeling chill and at peace knowing that everything that could be done had been done and that we could just ‘enjoy.’

Our experience with EE was hugely disappointing. We do not in any way recommend their services.
