    We could not have been happier with Adam from the moment we booked him he was organized, responsive, detail oriented, etc. He made our planning process that much easier by asking us detailed questions that allowed for an extremely smooth night. From our ceremony music all the way until the end of the night Adam kept the mood we wished for. Our guests said they could have danced all night because the music was so on point. We could not have asked for a better DJ. I highly recommend Adam for your next event!

    Exceptional Occasions and specifically, DJ Evan were great! It was an outdoor wedding and we had really bad weather. Even though it was under a pavilion, he was still getting wet because he was on the edge of it. He was a good sport about the whole thing and he kept the party going! Keeping the party going is saying a lot because of the bad weather. If he wasn't a good DJ, people would have left much earlier and I really wouldn't have had a wedding reception. But for the people who stuck it out, we had a great time dancing to some great music!

    Adam was outstanding. It was important to Adam that he got to know us, so that he could do the best job for us and to pick out just the right music for our wedding reception. It was incredible to both of us just how well he "got us." I would recommend him to anyone who demands quality, value, and professionalism.

    Exceptional Occasion DJ's responded promptly and professionally. Followed up and confirmed the bid quickly and cost effectively. Their performance was excellent and I would highly recommend them.

    We had Adam as our DJ and he did a pretty good job. We gave him a lot of songs/groups that we wanted to play so that may have thrown him off a little. Some songs got cut off early (I think to try to fit a lot more in the time frame) and the transitions were a little bit shaky. Some of the music wasn't what we asked for and I think he could have been a little more involved with announcing the garter toss/flower toss and toasts for our BM and MOH. He also missed the cue when my first bridesmaid came out and quickly tried to start the music. Other than these small technicalities, he was pretty nice and accomodating. The value was definitely good too.

    I'm rating this s low because on several occasions I felt rushed and pushed when dealing with this dj. I knew what I wanted and was straightforward. Once all the details were hashed out it was great. Then the night before my wedding I get an email saying the dj I asked for can come due to a family emergency and that I would get a replacement. The replacement dj was TERRIBLE. He messed up names, titles of my wedding party and songs that were requested for certain parts of the evening. He didn't have good energy and seemed bored. Adam is who was supposed to DJ but we got his friend Evan... I was very disappointed the entire evening.

    Updated: Adam decided that on the day of my wedding, he'd show up AFTER the ceremony was supposed to start. He did not answer a single phone call or email from either myself or my now-husband when we were frantically trying to figure out where he was. When Adam finally answered my call, he was apologetic. We ended up running the ceremony music off of a cell phone. However, after coming and setting up, he did not say a single word to either me or my husband. During the reception, Adam was very attentive to requests, kept to our genre requests, and was generally very good. We signed him early into our planning and was very attentive and communicative.

    Adam still hasn't offered my husband an apology and hasn't explained his tardiness. It is because of this that I am unable to give him higher than two stars.

    We hired Adam to DJ our wedding last month.It was incredibly easy to work with him prior to the event,we met up twice to discuss logistics.
    On the day of the event, he was on-time and dressed nicely.He had some trouble getting set-up because the venue made him wait a bit (until it was closer to the ceremony--they were still open for business); I could tell that this frustrated Adam a lot.
    Issues:
    1) The song transitions were not smooth. We gave him a playlist which had quite a few differing genres of music, but I did trust that he would play the songs in an order that made sense and flow with ease. Two songs with completely different tempos would play simultaneously. In retrospect, I wish I would have made the playlist in the exact order I wanted, because this was a complaint I heard from many people.
    2) Song requests--We noted to Adam before the event "no latin music" because he seemed to think that, because my husband's last name is Spanish/Hispanic sounding, that we would only want Latin music. When my friends requested this song, he was incredibly rude to them and said that he "wasn't allowed" to play Latin music. I think the professional way to handle this would be to say "thanks for the request" then ask my husband or I.
    3) End of wedding announcement--Instead of a smooth "hey everyone, this will be the last song" announcement, he abruptly cut off the music and said "I HAVE BEEN TOLD THE EVENT IS OVER AND THE VANS ARE HERE. IT IS TIME TO EXIT". What a way to end a party! This really upset a lot of people.
    All in all, I think Adam was ok to work with on the front end of the coordination. However, the execution was poor. I am sure there were communication issues with the venue/other vendors, but when you are serving a special event, you need to be able to just roll with things and make it work. I am sorry if he just had a bad day. However, it is disappointing when your "bad day" falls on one of the most important days of my life.

    My entire wedding was just how I had pictured it, EXCEPT for our DJ. Our first meeting with Adam went great. He seemed like he was going to be great to work with, took notes, and seemed very accommodating. At some point we were contacted by Adam and advised that he now had another wedding for the same day as ours so we were going to now have his back up DJ. This concerned me and I felt like we were just pushed to the back burner, but I tried to remain optimistic after Adam assured us that his back up DJ was just as great and we would be pleased with him. As the wedding got closer, I requested a conference call between me and the back up DJ and Adam (if he wanted to attend) to go over the music for our wedding. A date and time was set up, however, on that date we received no phone call from either party. I reached out to Adam and he apologized and we set up another date and time for the phone call. On the second date, again we received no phone call from either party. I reached out to Adam again and explained to him that this was not acceptable and that if he was not interested in doing our wedding I needed to know immediately so that I could find a replacement DJ and that I wanted my money back ASAP. He apologized again and advised me at this time that he was now going to be the one to DJ my wedding, not his back up. In short, on the day of our wedding, he acted like he didn't want to be there, he had NO enthusiasm at all, did not engage the crowd at all, he shut down prior to doing our last dance. It was awful. I will NEVER recommend him to anyone. The ONLY thing I would change about our entire wedding day was my choice in DJ's, I would have selected someone that actually enjoyed their job and wanted to make someone's wedding perfect and fun.

    Was doing fine, until we had to cancel

    Hired them for our wedding last year. Unfortunately the wedding fell through. It has been IMPOSSIBLE to contact them to get a refund, making a difficult situation even worse.
