Having Joe Nagan as our wedding DJ was nothing short of amazing. As huge music people, this was one of the most important parts of our day and he easily 10/10 nailed it. From day one, Joe was so easy to work with. He responded quickly, hopped on calls with us, and really got the vibe we were going for. He asked the best questions, gave us ideas we didn't even think of, and made sure every detail was covered. He also provided timeline recommendations to ensure a smooth flow between events of the night and was more than happy to provide recs that didn't always pertain to DJing (like helping us find the perfect afterparty spot since we weren't familiar with the area).
Come our wedding day, Joe exceeded all expectations and multiple guests shared that it was the best wedding DJ they've experienced. The timing, the energy, the way he kept everyone on the floor for every second of our reception. It felt like he truly got us and knew exactly what to play next. You could feel the room's energy build with every song and it was simply SO much fun. Every song felt perfectly placed, every transition hit, and the flow of the night was seamless. He also had such a clean & modern setup that can easily compliment and look good with any wedding day aesthetic.
We've been to enough weddings to know that the DJ's energy can make or break the night as guests totally feed off it. Joe looked like he was having the time of his life at ours. He never once let the energy dip and definitely didn't let our guests down. You could tell that he genuinely loves what he does and we couldn't be happier with having Joe & the Exceptional Entertainment team as our DJ. If you want your guests to dance until the lights come on, this is your guy 🤌 -

Amazing!!!
We were recommended them by a friend who had Exceptional entertainment DJ their wedding. They played great music that suited the many personalities/age ranges at our wedding. There were people dancing on the dance floor until the very end, in fact of all the weddings I have attended we had the longest lasting party in the dance floor. They were extremely good with communication and assisting me in the right direction when planning songs for various parts of the day. 12/10 would recommend! -

I’ve worked with Joe for many years in my role as a wedding planner and have referred him to countless couples, but experiencing him as my own wedding DJ completely blew me away. From start to finish, Joe was phenomenal. His planning app made it so easy for us to add our must-play songs, and he turned that list into the most seamless, high-energy mix that kept the dance floor packed all night long. Every transition was flawless, the vibe was spot-on, and he somehow knew exactly how to read the crowd and keep the momentum going. Our guests are still talking are how much fun they had! Joe is professional, personable, and an absolute master of his craft. I couldn’t imagine our wedding without him and would recommend him a thousand times over. Our DJ was absolutely phenomenal—hands down one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day! From the ceremony music to cocktail hour to the last song of the night, he was spot on with every moment. The energy he brought was incredible, and he read the room perfectly—our dance floor was packed all night long!
He kept the vibe fun, seamless, and completely “us.” So many of our guests raved about how amazing the music was and how much fun they had dancing. Joe was extremely helpful with my timeline. He was so easy to work with and very organized. The day of our wedding, the sunset came a little earlier and he easily pivoted. He was so kind, and the party on the dance floor never stopped. His lights were amazing and he knew how to keep people of all ages dancing. He also had amazing cold spark fireworks that were awesome for our exit! I highly suggest! -

We used Exceptional Entertainment for our wedding and highly recommend! Joe made everything seamless the entire day including the ceremony, cocktail hour/dinner & speeches, and the dance floor. He even helped find a solution to move our dance floor to a different part of our venue to make the overall flow of the venue work better! From the beginning process of wedding planning, through our ceremony, to the best part (THE PARTY) Joe absolutely nailed it. If you’re looking for a DJ that does so much more than play music, look no further.
After our first couple meetings with Joe we felt much more at ease, there’s so much to think about when you’re planning a wedding and he kept us right on track every step of the way.
As far as our reception his set up and equipment is stunning!! He kept a constant flow of people out on the dance floor - even my 85 year old GG was out shaking her groove thang!

Best. DJ. Ever.
This is your DJ. Without a doubt one of the best decisions my husband and I made when planning our wedding was hiring Exceptional Entertainment. We worked with Joe, and he was very communicative. He was the vendor we met with the most, and even though that may sound excessive for a DJ, it really isn't. The DJ is the life of the party for a wedding, so it's 100% worth it to invest the time & money into it if you and your guests want to have a great night. Joe did a phenomenal job with the transitions and kept people out on the dance floor. We also had their Photo Booth services and it was a hit with the guests. The picture quality was great and guests could get a copy sent to their phones immediately after. Another cool add-on they offer are their cold spark machines. If you're looking for an alternative to the sparkler exit, these have the same affect in wedding photos but less of the chaos of having to organize and manage all of your guests with sparklers. They were beautiful and definitely added a "wow factor" to the night. Overall, it truly was the best night of my life and I have Joe to thank for playing such a vital part to that.
(P.S. if this wasn't enough to help convince you, three of my wedding guests actually booked with Exceptional Entertainment soon after for their own weddings because of how much fun they had!) -

I wish I could leave a 10 star review. Joe with Exceptional Entertainment was hands down the best DJ. He was there helping us plan every single step of the way. He scheduled video chats to get to know us as a couple and really took the time to plan the night perfectly and personably. The dance floor was packed the whole night. Joe knows how to throw a party! Our wedding was unforgettable and exactly what we wanted and huge part of that is thanks to Joe. We wanted to throw a dance party for our wedding so we needed a DJ who could play the hits and keep people on the dance floor all night long. We also wanted to ensure that our musical tastes were reflected in the music selected. We wanted this gay wedding to have a gay dance party! That’s exactly what Joe did for us.
During the planning process Joe was very hands on and collaborative. He helped us plan the evening and identify different moments we wanted to have. There were a few songs that we wanted to play and he ensured that he had them all for the night. He even made custom edits to a few songs for us like for our entrances or dances.
The night of he was extremely attentive and got the party started immediately once the dance floor opened. People were dancing the whole night long. One moment that stood out was when he played a Portuguese song “Bate of Pé” which got everyone doing this Portuguese line dance. That was of course a requested song by us for the night, but then he transitioned out of it seamlessly into “Dança Kuduro” which was not a song we ever discussed but one I love to dance to that just worked perfectly right after. I was in shock at how perfect that was. Transitions were something we were really particular about and Joe nailed ALL OF THEM!
His lighting also helped set the mood and vibe on the dance floor. It synced up perfectly to the music. During a really special moment of “Let It Go”, the lights were all set to blue which really elevated that whole song and experience. The videos we have with that blue lighting is truly magical.
He recorded our ceremony and speeches so that we have clear audio of those special moments. These will be great keepsakes!
Joe did an exceptional job, more than we could have ever asked for. He understood the assignment and delivered! -

I'm beyond grateful to Joe and the Exceptional Entertainment team for all of their hard work. Joe is organized, on top of things, and thorough. During our pre-wedding calls, he brought up details that I had never even thought of, and I was so appreciative to have him help me navigate our wedding reception by keeping us on schedule with our speeches, first dances, etc. Our dance floor was packed the entire night and Joe did a fantastic job gauging the crowd and playing what they wanted. We also utilized Exceptional Entertainment's photo booth and guest book phone, which were special additions that our guests really loved. He had foam light-up sticks for the dance floor that were a HUGE hit with all of our guests! Joe was having a great time behind the DJ booth and I think that really was a game-changer with my guests matching his energy. I 100% will be recommending Joe to all of my friends and family for their events! -

Joe was wonderful! I knew right away we were in good hands with the organization of the music/timeline website. It really helped us envision what we wanted for our day. Joe was absolutely amazing! His organization leading up to the wedding was phenomenal. He had great communication and responsiveness with us and had check in video meetings. Travis and I couldn’t be more impressed with Exceptional Entertainment services. Everything was smooth, they provided so much guidance, and they truly were the life of the party! We were so lucky to have Exceptional Entertainment for our 8/6 wedding. Joe was incredibly professional, well-organized, and took care of everything we could have asked. The dance floor was packed all night & we had numerous friends come up and tell us how great the music was. My parents surprised us with the Badger Band and he was so smooth with it, I have no idea what was going on. Made for an incredibly special moment and it wouldn't have happened as well without Joe!

My husband and I were so lucky to have Exceptional Entertainment for our wedding. From the start, Joe was so helpful and fun to work with. Start by choosing them as your DJ because there are so many wedding planning tools they give you to start your wedding planning journey. We felt so much at ease on our big day because we knew Joe had everything taken care of and was so flexible to changes. Also- their responsiveness is stellar!! The perfect DJ for your wedding
Our original DJs had to back out due to the pandemic. A friend of ours recommended Joe from Exceptional Entertainment since they had worked with him at their wedding. We called Joe thinking that he might not be able to take us on due to the short notice but had a wedding reschedule for 2021 that was supposed to be that same weekend. Joe was amazing to work with, picked out amazing music and was extremely professional. Joe also thought of everything we hadn’t for speeches, the grand march and so on. I would recommend Exceptional Entertainment to anyone looking for the perfect DJ for your day! -

I worked with Joe prior to my wedding where he DJed at the bar I worked at. I knew way back then that he'd be my wedding DJ, because he NEVER failed to get the party going. My wedding was no exception, and he did a great job of working the crowd throughout the night. I've never had more fun on the dance floor! In addition to this, he was wonderful to work with. He was organized, responsive, and he took care of things on his own. For instance, he initiated conversation with my venue and pianist to make sure all the technical details were worked out rather than making me a middle man for these conversations. His gear set up looks elegant, and his lights really add to the experience. I can honestly say I've never been more impressed with a DJ! I'd recommend him to anyone who's looking for peace of mind in planning their wedding and a great party at their wedding! -

They aren’t only amazing at what they do, they also are all around good people with your best interests in mind. Joe was able to reschedule with us due to coronavirus and made sure we were taken care of throughout all the planning. Joe and his team have exceptional communication and fair cost, and went above and beyond to make sure to connect with our other venders so that everyone was on the same page and the day ran smoothly. Their portal you’ll become apart of is so organized and user friendly, and even gives you reminders of information he needs from you to make your event perfect.

Joe and his team were amazing on our big day!! Before our big day he took lots of time to meet with us to go over key details. We were also able to meet with him during times that were after our work day, so we didn't have to leave work early! In addition, his team are really great at adjusting the timing of things if they aren't going as planned and made our day run so smoothly! Lastly, his team did awesome with reading the room and tailoring the music to the crowd! Highly recommend!
