    Jefferson wedding June 1st 2024

Everything turned out absolutely amazing despite a small language barrier. This resort went over and above to accommodate every detail in our vision. ERIDANIA my wedding coordinator stayed calm even with my anxiety. Top notch experience!!!! Their in house photography studio made special accommodation to fit our request for specific timeline. Junior and Alberto were the perfect team to get the most perfect images and the attention to every detail to get that perfection was obvious. The couples massage at the spa was just amazing, every night there were activities and shows that made us feel like we in another world. This Resort and everything we experienced was EXCELLENCE.

    everything we could ever want

We were married here in April of this year, and the entire experience was wonderful. This was the second time we have visited EPC, and we have not for one moment been disappointed.
The resort is beautiful and immaculate – so much work goes on behind the scenes to keep it this way – people who you rarely see or hear, but the work they do should not go unappreciated. The overall décor and atmosphere is a perfect balance of contemporary, colonial, tropical, and chic.
The staff have always been phenomenal. Cheerful, accommodating, and welcoming – literally everyone, from the bellhops (Abraham remembered us and said hello every day, remembered our departure date 10 days later and asked us in passing the day prior when we would like him to come gather our luggage), all the way up to management (Santa worked closely with our group for the entire week and, frankly, the greatest disappointment was that she couldn’t make it to our wedding because by that time she felt like family!). Jhon at the cascade pool is a WIZARD, the man instantly memorized all of our drink orders (for easily a dozen or more people!) AND instantly memorized which yeti cup belonged to each of us. Adan at Magna made us feel like royalty. Hector at Prelude, Coca Cola, Junior, Willy and Pedro at Blue Bar, Hendruix and Reynaldo at the beach… all phenomenal! It felt like much of the staff could read our minds, but even when they couldn’t, all we needed to do was ask once and it was immediately taken care of.
One of the primary reasons we picked this resort was the food, and it has never disappointed. Especially the seafood dishes! There’s such a huge variety of food to choose from here – definitely something for everyone. Even the mass buffet dinner at white night was delicious!
Another thing that made this resort perfect for us: the overall size and layout. Not too big that you felt like you could get lost or that you were exhausted by walking at the end of the day – and we were always bumping into people in our wedding group. But also not too small – expansive beachfront for walking, the ecological park, and always something to do for literally everyone. Both time’s we’ve visited, we’ve come home disappointed that we spent so much time relaxing that we didn’t try all of the other things there were available to do! But a lot of people in our wedding group participated in resort activities, and we heard nothing but rave reviews from all of them.
Finally, our wedding… perhaps I’m biased… but it was the best wedding I’ve ever been to ;^) But as the bride, and a type-A bride at that, I think it says a lot that I was blown away by the entire event. The décor, the food, the seamless coordination, the scenery… all of it was perfect. We had been emailing back and forth with Johanny, the wedding coordinator, for a year. She did an absolutely fabulous job. Sometimes it’s hard, from afar, to imagine how everything is going to pull together… but trust her, she has great taste and is a true professional. My husband and I walked into our reception and – honestly – we gasped. It was so beautiful – beyond what we could have imagined.
My husband and I have long planned to spend the rest of our lives travelling the world – we have so many places that we want to see that, realistically, once we visit a place, we are not likely to go back again. Excellence Punta Cana is an exception to that rule. When we know that we will be guaranteed such a phenomenal experience – why wouldn’t we go back! And we plan to – many, many times.
Tips for anyone planning to get married here:
    - ask to do a rehearsal walk with the wedding coordinator present. This wasn't something initially offered to us by our wedding coordinator so we did a quick rehearsal walk ourselves, only to realize on the day of the wedding that the plan seemed to be for the coordinator to direct us based on their plans. I wish we would have asked the coordinator to be there with us during our rehearsal walk so we were all on the same page with which direction we wanted to come from, where we wanted to stand in the large gazebo, etc. This is also a great time to review music/song plans with the coordinator.
    - I had two members of my bridal party do my hair and makeup, and the spa was kind enough to offer us the use of a bridal suite even though we weren’t using the spa’s services. Very accommodating… however, the room was very small, only had one plug so not very conducive to curling irons/lighting/phone charging/etc… was very poorly lit for doing makeup, and was VERY HOT. If you’re planning on doing your own hair and makeup, I’d probably recommend doing it at a different location – maybe in the rooms where the air conditioning is better.
    - when I went dress shopping, I was trying to keep the climate in mind… it was even hotter than I imagined. I loved the dress I picked and wouldn’t go back… but… VERY. HOT.

*side note* If you are considering this booking, since we had our wedding there, we can refer you and you will receive a free upgrade to the GOLD package! My email is michellereynolds@outlook.com and I am looking forward to hearing from you :) best wishes. I have been to the Excellence several times. After our first visit here at the Resort in Riviera Cancun (before we got engaged) I knew this was the place I wanted to get married and my boyfriend at the time agreed. From the service to the decor to the food and drinks, let me tell you this place is 5 star! I fell in love the minute I walked in and saw the martini bar which was at the bottom of a double wrap around stair case. The check in was super easy and every single staff member was so attentive. I will say the Excellence pays attention to every detail. After booking our wedding we flew back in to meet with our wedding coordinator, Ariana. She is one of my favorite people still to this day we have kept in touch. Ariana is so kind and quick to respond. Our wedding was everything we dreamed of and more. All of our guests gave us so many compliments I couldn't be happier. Destination weddings can be tough with guests canceling on you last minute, but if you are debating on whether to have one, or have it here, don't hesitate just book it! If you are considering this booking, since we had our wedding there, we can refer you and you will receive a free upgrade to the GOLD package! My email is michellereynolds@outlook.com looking forward to hearing from you :) best wishes.

    Wedding at Excellence!

We absolutely loved our wedding at Excellence Punta Cana. We had our ceremony at the stone gazebo, cocktail hour at Las Olas, and reception on the beach. Each of the locations looked amazing on our wedding day! The wedding coordinator, Yessica, did a great job making sure everything was perfect on our wedding day. We met with her twice once we arrived at the resort to go over details for that day. We also had a welcome party and rehearsal dinner for our guests that we also had a great time at. We had 60 guests and everyone had an amazing time, it was so fun! I would definitely recommend this location if you are interested in having a destination wedding!

Spent my honeymoon here and it was awesome. So much activities and the food was great. All inclusive 9 restaurants and 8 bars. I had the honeymoon package and got free horseback riding. We went zip lining which is extra money but so worth it. I absolutely loved this trip and will be going back.

We were married on December 19, 2015 and had 10 people at our wedding including us. Prior to the wedding our only contact was through email which I felt could have been better. However, once we got there we met with the coordinator who went through the details with us and was very helpful and the wedding went as planned. The resort was very nice. We upgraded to the Excellence club which was worth it because it included perks including horseback riding, private check in, beach access and hydro therapy. The staff was very accomidating and friendly. The food and drinks were great but the service could have been better at the restaurants. They were slow to bring our food when we went as a group for dinner. All and all we were happy we got married there and are looking forward to going back for our honeymoon.

    Nightmare wedding department

We hosted our daughter's wedding at the Finest Resort in Punta Cana in June 2024 for 60 guests. The positives of the experience were that the resort itself was clean, spacious, not crowded, and extremely beautiful. The staff was incredible and everyone we came in contact with during our stay was happy, nice and very accommodating. Planning for the wedding and working with the wedding department was a NIGHTMARE. We signed our contract in August 2023 and were told we would be contacted 3 months prior to the wedding date to start planning with our assigned wedding coordinator. We respected that guideline and waited patiently. Unfortunately, this planning timeline never happened. All planning for the entire wedding activities occurred 21 days before our wedding date! We did not get a final wedding planner with the cost of our wedding until 14 days before our wedding date. (YIKES!) Stress, upon stress, upon stress, upon STRESS!!! No bride deserves this type of experience.

At 3 months out, we were excited to start planning and reached out to our assigned coordinator - she told us it was "peak wedding season" and she would contact us soon. We waited patiently and continued to check in for the next month, but she continued to tell us it was "peak wedding season" and pushed us aside. We insisted on a call at the 7-week mark which she scheduled and then never called. Finally at 6 weeks out from our wedding day, we spoke with her on the phone. We discussed details and had already completed a wedding planner weeks before with our wishes and wants that included additional requests that needed pricing as well as questions. She did not seem familiar with anything in the wedding planner during our call and kept saying she would get back to us in a few days. WE NEVER HEARD FROM HER AGAIN. We continued to reach out to her via email and called the hotel several times a week for the next 3 weeks with no response. When we called, we were transferred to the wedding department voicemail which had a FULL MAILBOX - no messages could be left. We finally called and spoke with the Wedding Department Supervisor (Ive) on 6/19 about our wedding - this was 30 days before our wedding date and we had not completed any planning and had no details, no extra items were priced - we had NO IDEA WHAT THE WEDDING WAS GOING TO COST. She apologized and told us our wedding coordinator had left and assigned us a new one that day. The BIG Questions is when would they have contacted us (if at all) had we not been so persistent? We set up a call with our new wedding coordinator a few days later and went through all the details. A few days later she then provided us with floral and decor vendors that we had to contact directly and share our vision for any extras to get quotes. THIS WAS NOW 3 WEEKS FROM OUR WEDDING DATE. Needless to say, we hustled the next 3 weeks to get quotes and finalize details with vendors and our new wedding coordinator. Note that this was an extremely busy time for us with final fittings, bridal showers, hair appointments, packing, bridesmaid activities, etc. and it would have been nice to have this all completed 2 months prior. Vendors were amazing to work with - new wedding coordinator not so much. Standard communication was via email and average response time was 4-5 days and generally no responses on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. So stressful and definitely not what was advertised. One thing that was so frustrating was that there was no sense of urgency on anything. Two weeks out and we don't know what the cost of the wedding is????????

The rehearsal dinner and wedding itself was problematic and there were so many things we didn't know until we arrived on site. We believe this was primarily because everything was so rushed, and we scrambled 3 months of planning into 2-3 weeks - it was definitely thrown together. Questions were not answered, information was not shared. We complained about it all and never really felt like we were heard - they extended very small gestures to smooth things over; the reality was that it was a horrible stressful experience that we could not do over or ever get back at a very exciting and special time. Discounting the price of the engraved coconuts from $10 to $7 wasn't going to make us happy. I can't imagine any bride would be okay with this treatment. Had we known it would be such a nightmare, we would have definitely gone elsewhere. We also requested the name of someone higher up in the organization that was responsible for wedding department and were told there was no one else. Really?

This was a big deal for us and definitely tainted the experience; we still can't talk about it without getting upset and emotional. We spent over $20K for the wedding, hosted 60 guests, spent thousands of dollars in travel, booked 30+ rooms on property, and at the end of the day, WOULD GO ELSEWHERE after it was all said and done. So, if you are willing to take a chance on how your planning process will be and feeling very lucky, go with the Finest. I believe it would have been amazing had they done what they had promised from the beginning. Our wedding experience at the Finest DR was not unique to us and we met others while there that had the same frustrations. Good luck if you decide to take a chance - wishing you the best!

Wedding Planner made many errors. She was not pleasant and did not apologize for her shortcomings. Flowers wrong color, Room not ready after ceremony we had to wait outside while they placed rose petals and champagne in room, Marriage Certificate name was spelled incorrect, Champagne toast glasses and bottle were missing after we came back from photo's on the beach, Microphone during vows kept cutting in and out.

    Wedding planner blew us off.

My fiance and I live in DC. We are planning a DR wedding & decided to take a trip to visit places in advance. We made an appointment with Excellence & showed up at the scheduled date & time and the wedding planner completely blew us off. The resort wouldn't even let us up to the front to discuss the issue or see if there was someone available to show us the property. Super disappointing because we had such a tight schedule & also had to pay to take a taxi all the way to the resort, only to be turned away at the gate. Would not recommend!!
