Fantastic Venue!
The Evergreen Lake House is a great venue for a wedding in Evergreen. The team who manage it are very professional, good communicators and made sure all went to plan. Would definitely recommend for an iconic wedding location. -

A most wonderful wedding day!
The drizzle and impending thunder clouds put our outdoor ceremony in serious doubt. Steve, the on site caretaker for our day, was the most pleasant, patient and accommodating as any nervous mother of the bride could expect. I believe he and his team reset the space twice, before the sun ultimately won the day and my daughters wedding went forward without a hitch. Oh, and he helped the father of the groom build the arch. The process, starting with Krista for the initial meetings and walk through, was professional and direct. I always felt that I was in capable hands.
Evergreen is also perfect for out of state folks who may feel intimidated driving over steep mountain passes. Evergreen is close enough, and just far enough to give those folks a really great mountain experience! We even had a herd of elk come down for pictures!
We were thrilled, and still are, many thanks to Evergreen Lakehouse!

Beautiful Venue
We got married here 5 years ago this March and could not have been happier with our choice! The venue is beautiful and just the right size for a medium wedding. We had 50 guests but I think double that would have still been comfortable. We decided to use the octagon room for the bar and loved it. 100% reccomend! -

Beautiful Venue
The Evergreen Lake house is the prefect venue. Inside and out is stunning. No decoration needed. Its easy to find for out of town guests. Easy accommodation nearby. The lake house staff was very easy to get in touch with and were responsive prior to and day of the venue. I have no complaints and wish I could do it all again. My wedding was took place at the lake house in May. Everything was perfect!-

Beautiful and close to town
This lake house is a beautiful log structure with a deck right on the lake and beautiful mountains in the background. It’s a stunning spot for the ceremony. The pictures turned out great! The lake house is beautiful in the inside with chandeliers and logs. Such a rustic and classy setting. You can choose your own caterer from a big list, and any other vendor is your choice as well! I love how close it is to the city too so Colorado guests don’t have to pay for a hotel. -

We are so so so SO happy we chose the Lake House for our wedding! We live in Evergreen so it's a treat to be able to drive by it all the time.
I know people say they aren't huge fans of Lorna but I disagree--you just have to get that she's not a "cheerleader" personality and has a dry sense of humor. I think she is great to work with! We changed our date twice, by no more than a couple weeks each time, and had no problem doing so--Lorna was extremely accommodating for this and during every other step in the process.
We also really enjoyed working with Christine, with whom we met for the final walkthrough and who was sweet and funny. She was SUPER on top of things when the forecast brought us SNOW on our April 30th wedding. She exchanged e-mails with us and our day-of coordinator the week before about some great ideas and really helped us adapt to the change in plans for our outdoor wedding (which now included market umbrellas and lots of quilts to keep our guests warm so we could still have the ceremony outside).
As for the physical venue itself, you can't really beat the Lake House. It's naturally just so beautiful that you hardly need any decorations to make it really stunning for your wedding. The fireplace inside is also awesome and has a mantle you can decorate to make it look super romantic. The fee is pretty expensive but does include high-quality, white, wooden chairs for the ceremony, as well as all your tables for your reception.
Be warned, though, that if you have a summer wedding there you may have kayakers and fishermen in the background of your ceremony photos, since the lake is owned by Parks & Rec and it's a really popular spot for fun on the water in Evergreen. (Lucky for us, there wasn't anyone out on the lake on our wedding day because it was too chilly!) -

This venue is absolutely amazing! So beautiful and they make everything about planning a wedding so easy. Flexible on catering and alcohol makes all the difference so you can make the evening truly yours! We had 150 guests at our wedding the the outdoor ceremony space and indoor reception area worked perfect for us. -

We got married here last week and words just don't do justice the the beauty of this venue. It is the absolute perfect location. SO SO SO beautiful inside and out. Our pictures look like they are straight out of a wedding magazine. We loved the deck for the ceremony, but were also thrilled they had an easy plan B in case of rain that is just as beautiful inside the Lake House. The wood walls, stone fireplace and chandeliers are just so tastefully done you barely have to worry about decorations. We didn't do anything for our ceremony on the deck. It was really great to be able to utilize the deck, the patio, inside and the grounds for photos and the whole evening. Lorna was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was always available via email or phone when I had questions. So much flexibility with vendors. There really weren't any restrictions. No sparklers, bubbles, confetti, rice or bird seeds for send off... this was one thing I was little bummed about, but our coordinator problem solved with glow sticks. They do a raffle for picking dates. They open the first of the month 12 months in advanced. I.e. if you wanted to get married August 15, 2016... you have to physically be there on Aug 1, 2015 and you draw numbers to chose your date. We really weren't picky about a date and got married on a Thursday, so this wasn't earth shattering for us at all, but I can imagine this would be a gamble if you had your heart set on a specific date. It's really just too beautiful to even be upset about a date though. -

I got married at Evergreen Lake House this summer, and it was everything I wanted. The venue is so gorgeous that the decorations for the reception and ceremony are so minimal which makes planning a wedding so easy! The views are breathtaking and the condition of the reception hall are flawless. I loved the rustic wood with the glamour of the chandeliers and large windows. My guests are still talking about how beautiful it is. In addition, your guests are not all stuck in one room. They are free to move about the deck, look at the lake, or keep dancing! While it was difficult to reach people by phone, the venue is still very responsive and I just used email. They were flexible with my caterers needs and with my needs. I enjoyed everyone I worked with here, there were no hidden fees, and the staff was incredibly helpful and supportive the night of my wedding. If booking this venue fits in with your budget and the date of the wedding, and you want a laid back staff and wedding planning experience, you should definitely get married here! I would not change a single thing. -

With both of our families coming from out of state, we wanted a venue that would take their breath away...we knew the minute we drove up to the Evergreen Lake House that we'd found a venue that would more than accomplish what we were looking for. Lorna and her team at the Lake House were wonderful. They helped us through the process, and made sure our day went off without a hitch. If you're looking for a venue that's sure to impress, make sure to visit the Evergreen Lake House! -

The Evergreen Lake House could not have been a better choice for our wedding. The venue is beautiful and the staff was so great to work with. I live out of state but planing the wedding was not difficult because calls and emails were always returned and questions were always answered. Lorna was always to the point and direct which was appreciated due to weather always being on the fritz. With the recent flooding she encouraged me that it was all going to be fine which is was and more. The price point is amazing for a mountain rustic wedding close to denver. I LOVE the Evergreen Lake House and everything it had to offer. -

We loved having our wedding at the Evergreen Lake House. It was the perfect venue for our event--close to Denver, beautiful surroundings, and an amazing building. We loved working with Lorna, the event coordinator. She was really easy to communicate with--got right to the point and had a great sense of humor. The rest of the staff was also great--super accommodating and friendly. You really can't beat the place--it's so beautiful. When we had to move our event indoors because of weather (torrential rain, hail, and snow in September--oh Colorado!) and I knew it would be fine because it was just as beautiful indoors as it was outdoors. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone for any event! -

The Evergreen Lake House has beautiful picturesque views of the lake and is nestled in the foothills of Denver. The location is perfect and the venue is maintained beautifully. The tables and chairs are all brand new and the floor glistens, almost reflecting the lake itself. Our caterer used the upscale, spacious kitchen allowing a perfect dining experience for our guests. Lorna was very professional, knowledgeable and a huge help with recommendations and ideas!! She was always available and efficient in answering our questions and friendly! The tables were set perfectly and the fireplace is an added touch! Brad and Kim were most delightful to work with as well! The entire experience from start to finish was perfect thanks to a wonderful staff and gorgeous venue!! An awesome venue and good value!!! Memories are priceless! Thank you to all of you for making it so very special!! -

The location is exquisite! In addition to a beautiful lake, mountains, blue skies, and the impressive lodge, the elk came down into the lake to wade as the ceremony took place on the deck! Out-of-towners couldn't believe the setting. The staff at the Lakehouse were kind and supportive. Though there was just 90 minutes to set up, the time was adequate, as the beauty of the setting didn't need elaborate work to enhance. Parking for guests was adequate and convenient. -

The Evergreen Lake House is such a beautiful place. Everything was ready when we arrived for setup. The tables were very nice and brand new. They have a brand new projection screen which was convenient and inexpensive to rent. It was a terrific value for a non-profit event. It is a special place. -

The Lake House was an extraordinary setting-especially for what turned out to be a 'snow-globe wedding' (April in the Rockies is always a surprise weather situation). The Octagon Room was set up per our specifications with surround seating for the ceremony with ample room in the middle for a beautiful arch to frame the couple as they exchanged their vows. The views through the windows with the snowfall helped coin the phrase "snow globe" setting!
Lorna was most helpful with arranging the tables and chairs for both the ceremony in the Octagon Room and in the main area for the reception. I found the best communication to be via email and she was always very prompt in responding, answering questions and providing information/clarification. About 2 weeks prior we asked for a slight change in the times and she was very accommodating to make it work for us.
Kim was assigned to support our event and stayed on the premises throughout and even helped us during final clean up.
Our caterers were pleased with the set up, as were our bartenders-ice machine was well-stocked.
When we booked this venue I read other comments and just want to remind future clients that especially in a wedding situation where drama and emotions can be elevated, the women that we dealt with were calm and professional. -

The Evergreen Lakehouse is nestled in the foothills 40 minutes west of Denver, Colorado. The grand login cabin sits on the shores of Evergreen Lake and is next to the Evergreen Golf Course. Couples looking for a casual mountain setting for their wedding day will appreciate the beautiful scenery and quaint log cabin feel of the Lakehouse.
We recommend that the majority of hair and make up be done before getting to the Lakehouse due to its limitations for getting ready. The facilities for the wedding party to get ready in can be difficult for most bridal parties. The room where the ladies get ready in is narrow and has low light and is generally used for storage of tables and chairs. Not the most ideal backdrop for your photos. If necessary, the men generally use the Lakehouse bathroom to get ready... cont'd READ THE REST OF THIS PHOTOGRAPHER'S REVIEW ON OUR BLOG HERE http://tiny.cc/yqu30 -

The Lake House is a beautiful structure situated in a scene of natural beauty: wooded foothills, wildlife, and the gorgeous lake itself. Because it is owned by Denver Parks, the regulations are stricter than your typical venue to ensure it remains beautiful and safe for the community. For our ceremony and reception, the building afforded a weather back-up plan (which we ended up using) and comfortably housed all of our guests inside. The combination of architecture and the scenic view was impressive and cozy enough for us to feel confident in asking the majority of our guests to cross the country to witness our ceremony. The staff was competent and responsive, even in the midst of a change in management. Overall, we couldn't be happier with the venue. We will be back to visit for our first anniversary... if not sooner! -

I absolutely loved the Lake House. I grew up in Evergreen so it was really special to have the wedding there. It is a beautiful location and their staff was great to work with. The venue was on the expensive side but it more than made up for it by being able to bring in our own alcohol and caterer of choice. Would recommend to anyone! -

Evergreen Lake House is a beautiful wedding venue...reasonably priced, gorgeous, and the staff is great! Lorna is a wonderful facility manager. She is direct, clear, responsive, and supportive. Our wedding went off without a hitch...from booking the venue, to working with vendors, to completion...I cannot tell you how wonderful our experience was. In fact, a herd of cow elk strolled by during dinner just so our guests could ooh and ahh and take pictures. (does the Lake House have them on retainer?) Thank you Lorna and Evergreen Lake House. Our event was not only perfect, but the stuff dreams are made of! -

Karen and I held our wedding outdoors next to the lake and then hosted 125 guests for a reception in the lake house. Everything went perfectly and we built memories for a lifetime. What a fantastic venue. Special thanks to Lorna for helping us plan, for giving us ideas and just being a good person to work with as we worked up to our wedding day. Thank you very much.

Simply perfect location! The elk came out to play in the lake during our ceremony and a beaver seam by. Such a beautiful mountain venue, inside and out. The only tricky part is the timing for set up. I recommend having a well organized plan to get all vendors in and set up within one hour. Our set up took a small army because I had a significant amount of decor to be placed. But it all got done exactly to plan and it was the wedding of our dreams! -

The Evergreen Lake House was an AMAZING venue for our ceremony and reception. It was gorgeous! Minimal decorations were needed since it's already so pretty. Lorna is very easy to deal with and is very prompt about returning emails and phone calls. The only problem we had is that we wanted to have our dance floor outside (I had spoken to Lorna about this several times and she said there would be no problems) and on the day of the wedding, the woman who was in charge (who I had never spoken to before) informed us that we would have to shut down the music at 10pm if our dance floor was outside. Lorna never mentioned that to me. It wasn't a huge deal - we just ended up having the dance inside. Other than that, it was a WONDERFUL place for both the ceremony and reception! -

The facility is beautiful; however, everything has to be brought in save tables and chairs. The provided 1 hour of set-up time is great, but not nearly long enough for total set-up for a DIY wedding. We paid for an extra hour of set-up and still finished just in time for the wedding.
The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant, plus quick to return phone calls and e-mails.
The facility and grounds are just amazing! -

This is the most beautiful outdoor wedding location close to Denver, and among the greatest values anywhere! Assets: stunning outdoor view + possibility of doing the ceremony indoors, grassy play area adjacent for children, cheaper & more flexible due to finding your own caterer and liquor. Drawbacks: limited set-up and take-down time, seating for only 80 outside, hot Bride's Room--this is a public facility. YOU MUST SIGN UP FOR THIS GREAT PLACE A YEAR IN ADVANCE FOLLOWING RIGID RULES! It is VERY popular, with up to 3 weddings a day. Please try to get it--the BEST! -

We had our March wedding here and they normally don't have weddings during this timeframe due to the weather but they made sure everything was ready and beautiful for our big day. I had been concerned that it would be cold in thehouse Lake but that was not the case. It was cozy and the setting was stunning! We wouldn't have changed a thing! I hope YOUR day is WONDERFUL! -

We looked at a LOT of properties before we finally signed on with the Lake House in Evergreen, CO. Most of them had limited capacity and restraining (expensive) requirements .
-- The location of this venue is perfect ! ! -- IN the mountains on a beautiful lake and less than hour away from the big city (Denver).
-- The charm of the big log building stands alone (minimal decoration is required!). It has an open vaulted ceiling with big log beams & huge attractive light fixtures. + Awesome decks overlooking the lake and beautiful grounds for your guests to wander (and take beautiful pictures!)
-- AND we found it to be the very best value (tables & chairs are included in the price!) We especially liked this because we are a family of "do-it-yourselfers" (artists, florists, bakers & gourmet chefs)
THIS is why we chose this venue so that we could do it ourselves -- you hire your own vendors (or do it yourself) There IS no staff at this venue (no added expense) The staff is supplied by your caterer (or yourself)
The manager at this property was VERY helpful to us with referrals. She has a book full of local vendors to fill in the gaps and she answered all of questions and made suggestions on our setup (she knows what works and what doesn't)
Overall OUR event was a 10 ! ! Hope yours is too!
**parking could be an issue --
in the summer/on weekends as this is a public park

We used the Evergreen Lake house for our ceremony and reception venue. It is o beautiful. For us it was the prefect compromise. I wanted to get married outside and my husband said anything but a barn. The lake house next to a golf course, so on one side there are manicured lawns (we made the short walk and took some pictures on one of the fairways). Some people said the woman in charge was hard to work with but that was not our experience at all. It was actually nice to only talk to one person. She returned all our phone calls and was at every meeting and there the day of the wedding. We got married on a Monday in May and she was very flexible with the time slot. The Value of the Lake house was its original selling point for us (tables are included). The biggest surprise was that the value did not come with fine print. The experience was perfect. -

Beautiful Venue
A perfect venue for an intimate wedding nestled in the mountains. Great guidance throughout our wedding process. Krista and her staff did a great job of everything from supplying information on venders to the final touches on our wedding day. They were always responsive and helpful when it came to our questions and your staff was always welcoming and professional. -

Beautiful reception!
The Evergreen Lake House was a great venue for us. We were thrilled by the affordability of such a picturesque location. Adam was a great contact to work with, especially considering he took over in the middle of the process. The building has limited kitchen facilities, and they have a lengthy cleanup checklist, but this was no problem for one of the caterers from their preferred list (we went with Fresh Tracks, and they were great!). They are also strict about their venue reservation times, but they were very helpful in getting the room prepped with tables and chairs before our time started. I definitely recommend this venue for anyone looking for somewhere beautiful and affordable! -

The Evergreen Lake House was the perfect place for our wedding. Being from the east coast and now living in Colorado, one of the things that I miss the most is the ocean and so when I was looking for a venue, I wanted, no decided, I must have a venue that has water views.
When I started looking at my options it was clear that the only place for us was the Evergreen Lake House. It was in our budget, has an absolutely beautiful view and is just the perfect venue in the most quaint town. It was very easy for me to find local vendors to help out with additional needs such as a bartender and rental store and because everyone knows each other, I felt good about giving the town our business.
The venue itself is just breathtaking with its very rustic, log cabin look, very large open space and wrap around decks. The lake itself is not very large but the venue is set up so you can get married right at the edge of the lake. We even had a beaver swim by during our ceremony!
The staff at the Lake House are all very professional and helpful and on the day of my wedding, Jennifer was there to help us make sure everything went smoothly and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. When I first walked in, I had a moment of being completely overwhelmed by the whole event and Jennifer was there to assure me everything would be ok, and it was!
I highly recommend this venue for anyone who wants the most picturesque, rustic, waterfront venue in Colorado, that won't break your budget! -

My husband and I really wanted to get married in the mountains and share our love for Colorado with our guests from around the country. The Lake House was the perfect spot for us to have our reception...it sits on a beautiful lake and has the feel of a mountain lodge, it is in a great location for your out of town guests to enjoy the mountains and your in town guests to save on a hotel room, and even has a cool boardwalk to take some neat pictures.
The Lake House has a few negatives. The first, is that it has a really small kitchen and they only provide the tables and chairs. I completely underestimated the amount it would cost to rent linens, glasses, plates, silverware, napkins, hire waitstaff, and set up a bar. When I first made my budget, I called two catering companies to get pricing for a bar, food, and linens. I made my budget based on the average price of the two companies. However, the actual prices ended up being much higher. Both companies hid a lot of 'fees' in the bid that they ended up charging when I called for a final estimate. You should also budget three of your seven hours for set-up and tear-down. Every caterer asked for two hours to prepare the room.
The second problem is that the caterers told me that the Lake House is now charging a fee to all the catering companies on the back-end. This is an indirect cost increase that the catering companies pass on to the customer. It would be better to just raise the price up front so that customers can make a proper budget.
The third, is that it is heavily regulated. Unfortunately, this will make you jump through some hoops before the wedding. Fortunately, this also helps you get your security deposit back quickly. At least the staff tries to help you out as much as they can, with the rules they have to deal with.
Overall the Lake House was a breathtaking and stunning mountain venue, and I would definitely get married there again. Just make sure to budget (for time and money) accordingly. -

The lakehouse is a beautiful venue. I don't think the renter should be responsible for setting up and taking down the chairs. The lakehouse employees were extremely helpful and actually took care of our setup and takedown. The parking was a bit of a problem. I understand it is a public facility, but if you advertise and promote yourself as a wedding venue, maybe the parking needs a second look. -

Evergreen Lake House was the most fantastic place to have our wedding. In all regards, the venue was very professional in handling our event and for the most part was very responsive. The value was good, considering it was the place where we held our ceremony and reception - providing convenience for our guests and vendors.
If you can lock down this venue for your date and have the budget to afford it, I would recommend this quaint venue! -

Beautiful location and a great space!
Overall, we were very happy with Evergreen Lake House. The setting is stunning, and the space worked very well for our ~100 guest event, with plenty of room for dining, a buffet (we also rented the Octagon Room), and dancing. We had contra dancing at our wedding, so having adequate space and a good dance floor was key for us! The venue also works well for either outdoor or indoor weddings - having grown up in Colorado I was WELL familiar with the state's quixotic weather tendencies, so having a convenient indoor backup was key.
The staff were very helpful with the final walkthrough, and although you do have to use one of their preferred caterers (or else pay $1000 extra+have the caterer work with Evergreen to make sure they know how to use the space), the list they had had enough options that we were able to find a caterer (Taco Mojo!) that fit our tastes and budget. I think for the price we paid (our ceremony was on a Sunday, which was slightly less) the venue was good value.
The only thing I didn't like was how hard it could sometimes be to get in contact with the venue more than a month out from the wedding. It was difficult to get general questions answered, often emails would go unanswered for weeks, and getting in contact by phone could be difficult. Thankfully that changed closer to our date!
Other big thing to keep in mind with this venue is the lottery system they use for making reservations if you want a specific date. We had a whole strategy worked out for our preferred dates in late September/early October, and then found out the week before the lottery was to happen that the venue wouldn't be available for that time! So, suddenly our wedding was 3 months earlier than initially anticipated... Could have done without that stress, having it more clearly posted in advance, on the website, that the venue wouldn't be available for those dates would have been nice.
Those two issues aside, though, we were very happy with how our wedding went - everything worked out splendidly, and it was a gorgeous occasion! If you're hoping for a Colorado mountain wedding that you do YOUR way (not a wedding factory!) I highly recommend Evergreen Lake House! -

I loved this venue as this is the place I grew up ice skating as a child. I don't think I've ever been to a wedding venue with more beautiful views!
There are pluses and minuses to this venue. First of all, this is really affordable. However, if you plan on having an evening wedding and only rent the place for a half day, the earliest you can get in is 5 pm... which doesn't give vendors a lot of time to get ready or to decorate anything. Our vendors were awesome and I had a team of wonder women who helped decorate the place with our DIY centerpieces and table numbers and all our flowers, but it was tight. If you are going to rehearse your wedding here, you only get a half hour, which worked for us, but if you need more time ask before you sign the contract.
The Lake House is also pretty picky about cleanup and setup. As our vendors were leaving for the night, one of them drove through the grass and the coordinator at the venue came out and yelled at everyone. And as she walked away, we heard her say some very unprofessional things. Another minus is that you won't be able to control who or what is on the lake that day, we had a group of paddle boats come right up and listen to our ceremony and our photographer will have to get creative to edit them out of our photos. You can also only have 80 chairs at the ceremony, the rest of your guests will have to stand in the back.
I loved this place, but there are some things you have to give up if you want to have your wedding here. I think that the views are all worth it, and having the lovely indoor/outdoor spaces are perfect for a summer wedding. Our guests loved it as well! For us, this place had a really special meaning, and does even more so now! We even had some elk come down to watch as we danced later that night! So if you are looking at this place, make sure that their policies won't eliminate something that you really think is important for your night. They don't allow sparklers due to fire concerns... -

Absolutely gorgeous venue, the pictures we took were fantastic. I have to laugh at all of the other reviews for this venue because I know the "unhelpful woman who runs the lake house' personally. Yes, she is pretty brusque, but I have always taken that as a no-nonsense attitude, meant mostly to assure that things get done instead of talking uselessly for hours. I looked for several months at other venues before settling on this one, and I am surprised that other reviewers found it to be expensive. There were only two venues in the mountain/foothills area I found that were cheaper than this (yes, I did need it to be on a Saturday): the first required you to use their caterer who was ungodly expensive and had bad food, and the second was nice but was located next to a campground. My wedding was Labor Day weekend, so we chose not to hear the campers during our ceremony.
The Lake House can be difficult to book, as they use a lottery system to book their weddings since it is a state-run facility. The year prior to your chosen wedding month, you must go to the venue on the first of the month, pick a lottery ticket, and wait for your number to be called. If the first person picked chooses your preferred date and time slot, they get it, not you. If you choose this venue, you should be flexible in your wedding date and/or time.
Lastly, I wholeheartedly agree with Elevate Photography's review: Get ready elsewhere. There is not much room to do so, and the room they do have is not well-lit. I wouldn't even suggest considering getting dressed there unless you only have one attendant because a poofy dress could easily take up the whole room.
Overall, beautiful and clean! Loved it. -

The Lake House is a beautiful venue and was perfect for a wedding party of 120 guests. Restrictions were not too burdensome, though the occasional EPRD staff person appeared overworked and less than enthusiastic. Our greatest disappointment was the state of the grounds - trash that was present when we walked through 6 days prior to the event was still there the morning of the event. And the grass had not been trimmed in weeks nor the dandelions pulled. Though not perfect, still a marvelous location. -

I loved the location the area the views everything seemed perfect even the price was decent. Then we talked about their availability and you can't reserve a day until 1 year before and you have go to a drawing with everyone who wants a day in that month and have to have your name drawn in this raffel in order to pick a date. And if someone gets drawn before you and picks the day you wanted your out of luck even if you had visited long before them. -

Beautiful venue for wedding but…
Beautiful venue for wedding but last minute they decided to change our timeline and cut us short of our scheduled time which was very disappointing. There was an older lady that worked at the lake house there that helped significantly when it was raining just prior to our outdoor ceremony and she rushed to dry the seats. However, this older lady shut down our bar very early and actually yelled at our guests and bartenders. It was never communicated, even to our our bartenders, about last call/ shutting down the bar at an early time so no one, including the bride and groom, had any idea about this. While it is a beautiful venue, my husband and I were very disappointed by these changes, the lack of communication, and this older lady making our guests and the people we hired uncomfortable. -

Evergreen Lake House is the most beautiful place to get married in Colorado. The venue is extremely well maintained and the atmosphere is unbeatable.
The only problem with the lake house is Lorna, the lady who runs it. She is very rude, inflexible, and unpleasant. If it weren't for her. The lake house would have 5 stars from me. -

The Evergreen Lake House is an absolutely gorgeous place to have a wedding. As a destination wedding, our guests were in awe of the location and beauty of the venue. It perfectly fit our 'adventure' vibe and looked so beautiful with minimal decoration. I absolutely loved getting married here.
My only complaint is the manager, Lorna. She's incredibly difficult to work with, rude, and was short with us at every single encounter. She fought with our vendors via emails we were CC'd on, she claimed we were 'burdening our family' by having a few of them take care of clean up at the end of the night, and the worst was when she ruined a moment between my mother and I on the wedding day. We were sitting out on the deck, I was writing my vows and my mom and I were just talking about the wedding and the future. Then Lorna came out and repeatedly told us we shouldn't be sitting on the deck and blahblahblah. It was just ridiculous, but honestly that's Lorna.
So, if you can handle a difficult person who constantly takes all of the fun and joy out of wedding planning, then I highly recommend the Lake House.-

This is where we had our reception and it is a beautiful venue! It is ungodly expensive if you don't get married during the week. The woman who "runs" the place is the rudest most unhelpful person I've ever dealt with. She was rude even the first day we were looking at it, if it wasn't as beautiful as it is I never would've had my reception there. She is not flexible on anything and goes out of her way to be unhelpful. Loved the location and wouldn't have changed it but hated dealing with her. -

This is an absolutely beautiful venue and we were super happy with it for our wedding and reception. The only trouble with the whole place was the woman who runs it...grumpy, rude, not helpful and just really unpleasant. We did have a brief encounter with Brad and he was fantastic...just the opposite of the experience that we had with his collegue. We didn't have too much to do with the woman running it, however, and the venue was definitely unbeatable for us. -
