Weddings at Asbury- highly recommend!

I am SO SO glad I chose to have my reception here! My husband and I (fiancé at the time) looked at alot of venues and this one had the most friendly and helpful staff! They were so accommodating the many times I wanted to have meetings because I had questions and concerns, and when my out of town family (on multiple occasions!) came to visit and wanted to see the reception hall. I truly enjoyed working with Grace, Aubrey, Dan, Jeff, and Keturah. The day went super smoothly and we are so thankful we found Weddings at Asbury!!

Absolutely Perfection

Memorable experience. The weekend was perfect. From the booking and planning with Grace, the catering and food, absolutely yummy, staying on site at the Asbury Inn and Suits, to the day of coordinator…. She was absolutely the best and helped with the anxiety of the day. She was able to make our day seamless. She is absolutely talented in what she does. I would highly recommend this venue!!!! We looked at a lot of venues and this BY FAR was the best. We are so happy!!!!

Estes is such a beautiful place to have a wedding. The reception area is nearby and has plenty of stuff to use for centerpieces at no charge. Christine and Susan were excellent helping with the planning and day of the wedding.

I could not have asked for a better experience. Christine and Keturah and all of the staff were AMAZING! Estes Chapel was beautiful as was the bridal suite and the hotel. The dining hall for the reception was perfect as well. All of my guests are still talking about how good the food was. All of the staff went out of their way to ensure that our day was perfect. And our photographer was in love with the lighting. We would recommend this location to anyone. PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT!

Aside from simply being a beautiful venue, our wedding director was fantastic. She was prepared, professional, and willing to work with us. We are very grateful we chose this venue for our ceremony and rehearsal dinner.

We had our wedding ceremony at Estes Chapel and our reception in the student center on Asbury's campus. I cannot say enough how wonderful it was to work with the staff at Asbury. They were always very kind, helpful, and encouraging during our wedding planning process. They made themselves available to answer questions, meet with us to give us tours and send us photos and suggestions from past weddings when we asked for advice. On the day of our wedding our assigned wedding director was a gem. She was there to answer every question, to make sure people and things were in there right places and to speak calming and encouraging words. The reception space was set up beautifully and the kitchen and serving staff did a wonderful job. I have no regrets about choosing Asbury for our wedding!

Weddings at Asbury blessed my husband and I so much with their friendliness, helpfulness, and guidance through the whole wedding planning process. Christine Endicott was there for us from the day we chose to have our wedding at Estes Chapel. She answered questions related to the facilities and also about wedding planning in general. Everyone we worked with from our amazing coordinator, to the catering staff was there to make our day easy and just what we wanted! Our wedding coordinator went above and beyond to make our wedding run smoothly from start to finish! If you are looking for a gorgeous, affordable venue with supportive staff, go with Weddings at Asbury and you will find that and more!

The folks at Asbury were wonderful to work with in planning and coordinating our wedding ceremony and reception. We have heard a number of comments from our guests about how beautiful the chapel was, how much they enjoyed the food and how great the meal service was at the reception. Several members of our bridal party also mentioned how attentive the wedding coordinator was to every detail on the day of the event. Christine, Morgan and Doug were easy to work with and made sure everything went smoothly from start to finish. I am very glad we chose Asbury for our wedding.

Wow - where to begin! Our January wedding and reception at Asbury was beyond anything we could have ever hoped or dreamed! We owe a lot of the success of our day to Asbury's phenomenal staff! They were easy to work with throughout the entire planning process but they were especially helpful the day before and the day-of our wedding. First off, the wedding coordinator took care of decorating the entire reception hall, modeling it after one table we set up as a prototype. Everything looked spectacular after she worked her magic! Second, our wedding day went off without a hitch thanks to our day-of wedding director. She was truly a life savor - she took a lot of stress off of me as the bride! Lastly, our reception food was delicious - and surprisingly inexpensive compared to other vendors! Our guests had lots of compliments on the food. All and all - we would definitely recommend Weddings at Asbury. Great price. Great service. Great people.

Asbury was so sweet in working to provide what we needed and helped to make our wedding day so special. Each time we met, all of our questions were answered and the coordinator we had was so quick to do whatever we needed, keeping each aspect on time and moving. Estes Chapel is absolutely beautiful and a "simple" wedding like ours looked so much more opulent. Thanks, Asbury!

Wedding coordinator was awesome. The church looked exactly the way I expected. The sound guy was perfect. The only thing I would suggest is better air conditioning in the chapel. But I couldn't be happier with our decision to get married at Estes Chapel.

We absolutely loved our wedding in Estes Chapel! The chapel was so beautiful that we needed very few decorations, the audio CD was an added bonus, and our wedding coordinator Keturah was fantastic! We seriously could not have done it without her. She made my wedding day virtually stress-free and the most perfect day of my life.

My experience with Asbury was wonderful. The church was gorgeous, everything was ready as promised, and the wedding coordinator at the church, Morgan, was a pleasure to work with. Everything ran smoothly and I have had many guests compliment me on the gorgeous venue and ceremony.

Our wedding was a huge success. Everyone at Asbury was very professional and they had great ideas and suggestions. They even thought to ask questions that we had never even thought about. It made our day run so smoothly. Estes chapel is such a beautiful historic chapel and all of my guests loved the church. Our wedding coordinator that was given to us through Estes was amazing. She was so helpful and stayed in touch with me the last month before our wedding. I was able to get in touch with the ones I needed to speak with right away and had questions answered very quickly. Estes was very affordable and had several things that we were able to use for our ceremony. My husband and I originally wanted an outdoor wedding but we couldn't of been more happier with our choice at Estes. The grounds were still very green even after our drought this summer. For my bridesmaids and family we were treated with the upmost respect and had all the admenities to keep a hungry group eating throughout the day. The bridal suite was large and spacious for all of our "stuff" we were able to sit on couches and relax to take in the moments that meant so much to us. Thanks to everyone at Asbury for your commitment and everything you provided us on such a special occasion. It has truly was everything I imagined and more.

Our wedding went very smoothly in large part due to the planning and assistance on the part of the Asbury staff! Everyone in our families and wedding party were able to relax and enjoy the day because Asbury took care of all the details!

The Asbury Seminary was just OUTSTANDING! We couldn't be happier with how beautiful it is there, how helpful the staff was, how relaxed the atmosphere was, and how yummy the food was. They made the process so easy even for a bride planning from far away. I can't tell you enough good things about our experience.

My daughter's wedding and reception at Asbury were fabulous! The contact person at Asbury, Kari Watts, was extremely helpful and easy to work with. They also provided a wedding coordinator, Christine Endicott, to help with rehearsal and the day of the wedding. She was very professional and organized, and worked well with the other wedding coordinator I had hired. I would definitely recommend this venue for a wedding and reception!

Everything was thought out thoroughly with wisdom. The day layout is put together by the wedding director provided by Asbury, it took off such a load. Every meeting was professional and down to the point. Tips and advice were wisely provided, it allowed us to enjoy every bit of the day. Couldn't say enough good things about this place, my only question is how they do it for such a reasonable price.

Estes was a beautiful place to hold the wedding, and the Steve Pike dining room was a perfect venue for the reception. The service was wonderful; everyone who helped with the wedding was attentive and thoughtful. On the day of my wedding, I felt worry-free. I knew everything was taken care of.

We had our rehearsal dinner and ceremony at Asbury/Estes Chapel and can't say enough positive things about our wedding experience there. Not only is the church absolutely beautiful to begin with (which made it very easy to decorate), our wedding coordinator, Keturah was amazing and made our day so stress-free as well (even when stressful situations arose). From the very beginning Christine Endicott kept in contact with us throughout our entire wedding process, answering any and all questions we had and when it came to our wedding weekend, everything that needed to be handled on their part, was (although our sound tech never showed up, BUT all was figured out and show went on). The food was great, the set-up was great, and the staff were very professional and kind! The only thing we'd suggest is cooling down the church a little more and allowing brides to be able to set-up/decorate earlier (especially brides who are getting married earlier in the day). Other then that, we'd recommend Estes to any bride and groom :)

They really helped bring down the stress level for my entire family, especially since we only had three and a half months to plan. Asbury were the only caterers who could give me the exact mix of food that I wanted, Turkish and Southern, to represent myself and my groom. Our guests loved the food. Asbury also loaned us linens and some of the table decorations which saved us hundreds of dollars.

Asbury Seminary is a wonderful place to get married AND celebrate. Estes Chapel is beautiful and requires very little decoration. The dining hall is also a wonderful choice for a large reception. They do almost EVERYTHING to setup for you AND they clean, which is HUGE. The staff are exremely friendly and helpful. The food was great and one of the best prices we found. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

We had just the ceremony at Asbury, not the reception. Estes Chapel is a gorgeous chapel, with great acoustics for music. We received compliments from the musicians as well as the guests.

Overall very pleased. The sound tech did not do a good job with the music, it would have been nice if the same tech was there for rehersal and actual ceremony so there would not be problems. The coordinator was excellent and the location was beautiful.

We had our ceremony at Estes Chapel, which is a beautiful venue for a traditional wedding. Perfect for couples who want to keep it simple yet elegant. We were incredibly pleased with the service offered by our wedding-day coordinator, Keturah! She was well organized and knew exactly what needed to be done without even asking.

The only issues we found had to do with the time blocks offered and the bridal suite. In terms of the time blocks, couples who choose this venue are offered either the afternoon block or the evening block. We had to pay an extra $100 to come in an hour earlier, because we needed more time to take pictures before our 5:30 wedding. This would not have been possible if another couple had blocked the afternoon slot. In a nutshell, we just found that the times offered were not good for couples who want to get married in the early evening. You will end up feeling rushed and, if the time is available, will have to pay extra for it, even though you will be vacating the venue hours before your allotted time ends.

In terms of the bridal suite, many of the outlets weren't working on the day I got married, there is no bathroom in or near the suite and the curtain did not shut all the way. None of these bothered me too much, since I did my hair and makeup at the salon beforehand, but I know they would other women.

The good far outweighed the bad, though. I definitely recommend Weddings at Asbury for your ceremony venue!

Our day went off very well although I was expecting more help for ceremony set up by the way things were presented when we contracted with Asbury. As it turned out, there was no "we" will help with those pew hooks, only one very hard working wedding planner by herself.

During the reception, we asked for the overhead lights to be dimmed and for the lights on the trees to be lit. That didn't happen and the reception coordinator was no where around. We also asked that the bride and groom be annouced when the entered the room. That also didn't happen. The wedding planner stepped in and assisted with the cake cutting.

Overall we are happy we chose Weddings at Asbury. They provide a ton of extras that most other venues do not. They provided a wedding director, who I can't imagine going without. They provide napkins, tablecloths, plateware and utensils. They take care of the cleanup as well, which is awesome. I don't remember seeing any other vendor that was so inclusive. It was a huge blessing for my family to have less to worry about after the wedding. One big reason we chose Asbury was because the ceremony and reception location are walking distance; guests do not have to worry about directions or getting lost or waiting forever for the bride and groom. As a whole, definitely a memorable day!

My advice would be to be very thorough and detailed in explaining what you want. We were told we would have a guest book table at the ceremony, and that day a guest book podium was what was given to us to use...which didn't lend well for the book we had chosen, and by that point was too late to change. I would also be very clear in dealing with timelines. The staff was usually very friendly and organized, but we felt rushed alot. When pre-ceremony pictures ran late, we were rushed out because "guests were arriving," and we didn't get all of the shots we wanted. A good solution would have been to move to an outdoor or other location to finish getting family photos... but again we were rushed to our dressing rooms. Always have a backup plan and plan things way earlier than you think you need; even earlier than you are advised. Extra time is better than not enough.
We were told that rehearsal would take 45 min but we were given a 1.5 hr time slot. It took the whole 1.5 hrs. We were told we wouldn't need signs to direct guests to each location or parking. I thought the campus was kind of confusing for most people but trusted the director that we wouldn't need any signs. In actuality, we had a multitude of friends and family calling us on our wedding day asking where to park, where the building was, and where the specific chapel was; and had people going to the wrong chapel, parking far away, and getting lost.
Another big thing is be aware of things going on. On your wedding day, things are moving very quickly and it can be a stressful time. When our friends toasted to us, we were never told where our complimentary sparkling juice was...there was so much going on that we didn't see it and never raised our glasses to toast...as soon as our last toast speech was made, our director guided us to the cake to cut it (no one ever raised their glasses for the 'cheers' part). It was fine, it flowed, but when we got our wedding photos back, there was a picture of the champagne bottle in a cute bucket; that was when we realized we never even used that...didn't even know where it was. They would not allow my mom to take it with her after it was over, when she realized we hadn't even used it.
Also, there weren't many drink refills. There was a ton of dancing, which means thirsty guests, but we had several people tell us they could never get a drink. Several times I went to get a drink and there wasn't even any water. Our cheese and cracker tray was never made or set out, BUT they did refund us for that.

I know that things happen, and the director can't be superwoman. Just be thorough with any detail you want, no matter how small. And be generous with allowing time for things.
I wouldn't change our venue at all...we had a wonderful wedding. We are grateful for everything that everyone at Asbury did for us. They went above and beyond every other place I had seen. I'm sure way more things would have gone wrong without the help of all the staff at Asbury. And I know that there was a lot of work done for us behind the scenes that we can never know the extent of it. AND very affordable with all they include.

The provision of a wedding coordinator was absolutely wonderful. Susan did an amazing job and I was completely stress free during the rehearsal and the ceremony. The cost of just the chapel is pretty high for the small amount of time that it is actually used, but overall a wonderful experience

The room was set up beautifully. We were disappointed in that one of the items that we had selected for the buffet was not furnished because the reception was having the same item. We don't understand why that was an issue but the rest of the food was good.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the rehearsal dinner.

Phenomenal place to get married. My personal opinion is that a wedding should be a sacred, religious bond between two people and the Lord. Asbury made sure that Christ was always the center focus throughout the entire experience!

It was the cheapest place we found that can deal with big groups in Lexington! The event staff were amazing and very well coordinated. We did a breakfast buffet and it was the hit of the wedding. Only down side what some of the provided supplies were old and we had a few miscommunications during the planning process, but nothing major.

The price is a bit steep for the venue, and there are few other options for building rentals.

Beautiful chapel, campus makes for great pictures. Difficult parking if expecting lots of people

A wonderful experience in many ways, but not so much in other ways

Our experience at Estes Chapel with Weddings at Asbury was wonderful in many ways, but not so much in other ways. Our coordinator Susan was less than satisfactory unfortunately. She rushed every moment of the wedding and it seemed like she was more concerned about watching the clock than making sure we felt relaxed and comfortable.

Susan told our videographer that he had to get his extra equipment from the chapel or else they would lock it up. Since he was rushed to get the equipment, he didn't have an opportunity to record the first part of our reception, which is an extreme disappointment considering those are important moments that would've been captured if he wasn't rushed. She could've communicated this to him in a better way in order to avoid those missed moments.

I was also informed that right before our flower girl (who's barely a year old) was supposed to walk down the aisle, Susan picked her up without the mother's consent and she immediately starting crying and couldn't be calmed down so quickly, therefore, she wasn't able to walk down the aisle.

Additionally, my mother was so busy with the wedding that she wasn't able to get anything to eat during the reception. Towards the end of the reception, she went to get some leftover food and was turned away, which is disappointing after how much we paid for the catering.

Also about a month before the wedding, we were told that we weren't allowed to use birdseed for our sendoff after it was already prepared and taken care of. They claimed that the guidelines had been changed some time ago, but why weren't we made aware of this well before we already made the purchases? We were already told that birdseed was fine to use for the reception, and it was confusing to be told something different so last minute after money had been wasted.

Overall we enjoyed our wedding day and had some truly beautiful and memorable moments at Estes Chapel. However, we weren't happy with the management and service. We wish Susan would've been more considerate instead of focusing mainly on the timeline. Despite this, Estes Chapel was a beautiful venue for our wedding and we're happy with how the photos and video that we did get turned out on camera.

We hope this honest review will help you all make some needed changes for future weddings.

The reception hall was beautiful and tables were set up as wanted but nothing was on time, workers were difficult, we were not guided in events at all, we were rushed and we did not get the full time that we payed for. The workers and event staff were not pleasant and we were not able to enjoy the reception as we were continuously rushed to end it and leave before it was suppose to be over.

Not good at all.

It was all smooth sailing until the week of the wedding when they informed us they double booked the rehearsal time. In result, this made us switch our catered dinner and the rest of the plans for the night. The actually wedding day was very rushed, and the wedding coordinator really just told us what time it was. The bridesmaids who did not have their bouquets were sent in at the wrong song (some even had to walk in silence) skipping an entire song and confusing the string trio. You would’ve thought after paying $999 the wedding coordinator and director would’ve made sure they knew the song selections( or just paid attention at the rehearsal) and said to the bridesmaids “ hey where are your flowers?” Other than that, it was a beautiful venue thanks to all my family members who decorated it.
