Wow, Eve is the total package! Her photographs are beautiful, she is well organized, and so so good at working with different personalities (and difficult family members!). As an LGBTQ+ wedding, she made us feel totally at ease, included, and best of all - special! We booked Eve for our June 2024 wedding after meeting her at a friends' wedding and from the jump we connected with each other and I knew she was going to be perfect for our wedding. Eve is a great communicator and was fun to work with. We organized an incredible engagement shoot and it was delightful to see Eve's creativity at work. The shots turned out amazingly too, and we received rave reviews from family and friends! For the wedding itself, Eve sent an easy worksheet for us to complete of all family / friend photos, along with some helpful tips for how to stay hydrated and prepared the day-of. At the wedding, Eve made us feel at easy and never asked for too much. We also had plenty of time to actually enjoy the evening! And to top if off, the photographs perfectly capture the energy and mood of the event! Thank you Eve! -

Best Decision We Made
Eve truly goes above and beyond in everything she does. Her work as a photographer is unmatched; she brings beauty into everything she captures. You can absolutely tell that photography is her calling and she loves what she does. My husband and I are both camera shy and Eve managed to create a fun and freeing atmosphere and brought us both out of our shell. I was married in 2020 and often look back on our photos in awe. My family was so impressed by Eve’s work that my sister hired her for her wedding this past year. I was so happy to see Eve again because she excels at creating relationships with her couples! She makes every shoot so fun and truly becomes a friend. Her knowledge of the wedding industry and network of vendors was crucial as we planned our wedding and pivoted our plans due to covid. Eve was with us through it all and she was a standout star of all of our vendors. You will not regret hiring her as part of your once in a lifetime celebration!

Thank you Eve!
Eve was a stand out amongst our wedding vendor team. After our initial photographer indicated there would be a high chance she couldn't show, we moved quick to secure a new photographer just a month before the wedding. It was important to us to find a quality photographer with an eye for some of the artsy/moody photos we were hoping for. Enter Eve who really did come and save the day. From the moment we met, she was so kind and showed a true interest in getting to know us as a couple.
She was an absolute rock star during our wedding. We had a larger wedding (150 ppl) and she handled it with grace; always staying patient but giving direction confidently when need be. One of our favorite things Eve did was our private vows. We were considering scrapping it as it might be too complicated logistically, but Eve knew how important that time would later be and moved quick to find a quiet spot to make it happen. That really set the tone for my now wife and I, and was one of our most cherished moments on our wedding day.
And the photos! We just received our full gallery and they're so beautiful! We feel so lucky to have worked with Eve. I would absolutely recommend her and hope to work with her again some day. Thank you Eve! -

Eve is so amazing not only as a photographer, but as a human being. I wish we could have taken photos for like 10 hours straight lol. There are a million wedding photographers out there but thank god for instagram hashtags because they led us to this Long Beach, CA local, queer, Latina photographer!! Eve brought so much energy and excitement about our love and wedding vision right from the first email exchanges. We quickly set up a video meeting to further discuss our wedding vision and photography needs. I’m pretty sure we laughed for the entire hour. Eve is very experienced and professional when it comes to wedding photography. Months before the wedding day, she had a suggested timeline ready to make sure we got all the photos we wanted. Eve worked so well with our coordinator blending their timelines together to make everything fit. On our wedding day, Eve and her second shooter, Amanda, showed up on time and ready to go. They kept the day moving and even made sure we both had sunscreen to keep us from getting a desert sunburn! The post-ceremony couple photos were my favorite part of the day. As a couple, our top priority was getting beautiful, scenic desert photos together and Eve delivered!!! And had us laughing the whole time lol. We have only received “sneak peak” photos so far (that Eve was up at 3am editing for us haha), but we are happy to wait to see all the photos. This gal is in HIGH demand this busy, semi-post-COVID wedding season! I would HIGHLY recommend Evelyn Avila as your wedding day photographer if you want a true professional to capture the magic of your day, keep you laughing, and be as is excited as you, if not more, about your love. -

Eve from EveRox Photography was out of this world, she was so good at making us feel at ease in front of a camera. Let us start off by saying, everyone thinks it’s cute to be quirky or awkward in pictures, but when you, as a couple, are truly awkward about PDA and Pictures well its spells disaster for a photographer. Well this is not the case with Eve. We found Eve through our Wedding planner Megan from Sweet Peach Planning. She sent us a link to her portfolio and we fell in love with her color palate. Our first meeting was a little rocky, in the sense that we didn’t know what we wanted and we all were trying to figure each other out. After speaking with Megan we decided to go with an engagement session so we can all work together and feel each other out, this was honestly the best thing ever because the second Eve started snapping photos of us, she knew exactly what she needed from us. Of course we were awkward at times but Eve would ease us into it and just let the camera take pictures of true outburst of laughter we thought we were secretly sharing. This led us to hire Eve for our Elopement since we had to reschedule our Ceremony to the summer but did not want to lose out on our 10th anniversary as a couple being the day we tied the knot. Eve makes Lemon drops out of Lemons because it was POURING down that day and she still managed to take some of the best pictures of the special day we shared with my mother, her father and our officiant. This is why the day of the ceremony in the high 90’s Eve found a way to get the best out of us. I mean, she would just give us a couple of words on how she wanted us posed and we already knew what she needed. Although it can feel overwhelming with everything going on, Eve’s mind is only thinking of that perfect shot and when she finds it she makes sure she runs over to steal you for a few seconds to get that shot. My favorite shot of ours is where I am holding my wife up with the sun behind us in front of a cactus garden, it reminds me of all the rom-com movie posters we grew up seeing in the 90’s. One last thing we wanted to touch on was how fast and eager Eve is to get you a sneak peek of your photos. Our wedding was packed and over with by 11 pm, we got our first 30 photos at 1 am. Eve had left our wedding around 7pm this means by the time she beat traffic to her home about 45 mins away, ate dinner and took time to relax a little, she had knocked out some of the best pictures our special day. Eve is a pleasure to work with and an all-around amazing person.

When we were originally searching around for a wedding photographer in 2019, we stumbled across Eve’s portfolio and fell in love with her work. We love her style, and she has an incredible talent for perfectly capturing a time and place with all the emotions wrapped up in that moment. Her photos are impressive works of art, and she is able to capitalize on locations and very specific lighting, yielding crisp, clean, colorful shots. Some photographers may just take a bunch of pictures—but when you look at Eve’s photos, it’s like they tell a story—like you’re reliving an experience.
Eve is very passionate about the work she does. We really enjoyed her sneak peeks from our shoots, and it was genuinely fun to work with her. She comes with years of experience, and is knowledgeable about the Long Beach area. She was already familiar with all the shoot locations beforehand and knew where and how to get the best shots. She also works well with fussy subjects, such as our dog, Yukihiro (who gets constantly distracted by just about everything) and our young nephew, Rowan (who just turned 2 and also gets constantly distracted by everything). Her website is also quite convenient for purchasing prints.
Prior to our wedding, we went on an engagement shoot in downtown Long Beach at the Promenade, which was really great for getting us comfortable around the camera. We absolutely treasure the photos from that shoot and had a great time that day! Unfortunately, COVID disrupted our original wedding date and caused us to reschedule 3 different times. Of all the vendors we’d booked, we were most adamant that we retain Eve, since we knew that she’d be instrumental to our wedding day. Fortunately, Eve was incredibly accommodating to our circumstances—and not only was she still able to shoot our wedding, but we ended up also doing a followup engagement shoot to once again get us comfortable in front of the camera prior to our wedding.
Eve is a calming presence and a joy to be around. After working with her through the photo shoots, it felt like working with a friend. We are so fortunate to have her incredible talents on our wedding day, and will enjoy these photos forever! We highly recommend Eve to anyone looking for an amazing photographer!

Eve is an extremely talented photographer. When I looked at photos from past weddings she photographed on her website, I didn’t just see photos, I saw stories of love. Stories of people I didn’t even know. I was getting emotional about other people’s weddings through her photos. When we had our initial Skype meeting with Eve, she was so chill. We obviously met to discuss booking her as our photographer, but she also wanted to get to know my now husband and I. I even remember talking about remedies to stay healthy as one of our questions for her was how does she handle staying healthy when she is constantly shooting weddings. We have worked with Eve close to 18 months now. After our venue she was the very first vendor we booked. We were originally supposed to get married June 2020, but ultimately postponed to October 2020 after several changes in plans. She stuck with us through all of it and we are so grateful for all her support.
As a couple who does not consider ourselves photogenic and at times camera shy, we were stressed like many other couples are about having to touch and hug and kiss in front of a stranger. When we did our engagement session in November 2019, it rained and I was already stressed about that because it never rains in Southern California. Despite getting a little wet that day, our engagement session with Eve was a lot of fun. She came up with so many cool photo ideas just walking a couple blocks around the city. We were definitely a bit awkward at first, but as the session went on we realized this really isn’t so bad and Eve made us feel completely comfortable. Our engagement photos turned out awesome.
Wedding day finally came for us and we already had our sneak peek photos very early the next morning. WOW is all I can say. We are so excited for the rest to come. We’ve already selected a photo for our Christmas card because the sneak peek photos are that good. Thank you so much Eve for beautifully capturing our story. We are so grateful we had you as our engagement and wedding photographer.

We are from Australia and eloped in LA, Eve made us feel at ease and took the most beautiful photos. We had lots of fun and laughed all day. I would recommend Eve for any occasion, she is very intuitive, sensitive and a delight to be around. -

We were adamant about two things, incredible food and photography, and our vendors being vegan along side us. Eve fit the bill as a vegan photographer for us. When my husband and I met Eve, we went to a vegan bar in downtown LA, and bonded over vegan food and wine (both very important things in my life). We were lucky to call eve our photographer during our wedding and are lucky to continue calling her a friend. She helped us feel comfortable during our engagement and wedding photos, and did not mind that we wanted photos in all the gorgeous Santa Barbara areas.
We absolutely adore our wedding album! She beautifully captured everything we loved about our day, veganism, small businesses, Santa Barbra, our family, and of course my husband and I. We get to relive that day over and over again because of her, and I find a new favorite every time I look through it! -

I cannot recommend Eve (and Edith) enough. Working with Eve was the first wedding decision we made after picking our venue, and it was the only decision that was absolutely stress-free and that we didn’t second-guess. For real. I was excited about Eve’s work because each wedding in her portfolio looked different and unique to each couple, and it was clear she is attentive and present with each couple for who they are in that moment. This was true just from looking at her portfolio, and even more so after having met with her a few times. No forced poses, none of our pictures look like another couples, they just look like us and our people because Eve took the time to get to know us, learn what we had in mind and who were are, and helped us be *that* in front of the camera on that day. She was transparent throughout about her process, and helped us feel natural and like ourselves in front of a camera.
Eve and her second shooter Edith Hogan both are kind, supportive, very present people who find beauty and humor in any situation—this energy spread to us, throughout the whole wedding, and it is evident in the photographs. Ours was a homemade wedding without a professional coordinator, and although our friends came together to make the thing happen, there were still little gaps that Eve and Edith identified and fixed before they became catastrophes, IE we started to cut the cake and there was no plate; Edith ran into the house and found one, handed it to us like it was no big thing, smiling the whole time (which made us smile). They didn’t have do these things—they were our photographers—but they did, and did so with a great spirit of warmth and generosity. They are experts not just in aesthetics but in all things wedding, and although it would be unfair to think of them as helping making your wedding run, know that you are in really good hands and they seem to enjoy taking the edge off a stressful day. And they do all this while taking really gorgeous photographs that feel authentic to the moment, environment, and people in the frame.
A few weeks before the wedding, my very loved sister(-in-law)—who was a major part of the wedding party and our family—died unexpectedly. I told Eve a few days before the wedding (when I could finally talk about it), explaining that although we intend for our wedding to be a happy occasion, we were very much grieving and the day would take necessarily take on a much different tone than we’d planned. Eve and Edith both understood the complexity of our feelings. I never felt judged for not seeming ‘happy’ enough; they were engaged, respectful, and very sweet about how we chose to honor my SIL; they were warm and accepting of the range of our emotions that day—all while also helping us as the bride and groom be in the moment on our wedding day. I am forever grateful to them for this, since they were a major part of me feeling calm and as happy as I could be on that day.
She is an amazing artist, and I am so glad that she shares her perspective of the world through her photography. My only regret is that we couldn’t afford to extend Eve and Edith’s time because I wish I had them capture more of that day (but Eve was very accommodating of our budget!).

Honestly, I don’t have the words to describe to you just how incredible Evelyn was as our wedding photographer. Her photos have absolutely blown me away! As my husband and I were getting ready for bed just after the wedding was over, we got an email with a handful of incredible selects! I started crying all over again. She helped us feel comfortable posing and gave us just the right direction to make the photos exceptional. Her kindness and enthusiasm were more than I could have asked for. She had such a great energy. I can’t recommend her enough! -

Eve captured every special moment, even those that we missed ourselves, and has such a good eye. You can tell she loves her work in the way she lights up while taking photos and finds cool shots in unexpected places. We look at our pictures all the time and I’m so grateful to have found her!

We are also appreciative of her professionalism and attention to detail. She was attentive to our needs and wants throughout the entire photo shoot. We were super nervous but Eve made us feel comfortable from the very beginning. She is a beautiful soul with an amazing talent of capturing the romance and love between two people. Nikki Sent on 06/17/2018My partner and I initially found Eve’s photos on Instagram. We emailed her, along with a few other photographers, to inquire about pricing and availability. Even from the first email encounter, working with Eve was incredible easy and stress-free. We felt confident in choosing her as our wedding photographer.
A couple months after signing the contract (with about 6 months to go before the wedding), I received an email from Eve out of the blue. She was going to be in the Bay Area shooting other events, and wanted to offer a free engagement session for us in her downtime. We initially had not wanted to take engagement photos — my partner and I don’t like having our picture taken! — but we are so glad we did. Those photos, like the photos on the day of our wedding, turned out gorgeously.
I would recommend Eve to any couple for their wedding day. She is so easy to work with, has a great sense of humor, and makes you feel very comfortable in front of the camera — even if you are like us and usually hate it. You can’t go wrong with Eve! -

Zia Sent on 05/21/2018There aren’t enough words to effectively convey the gratitude my husband and I have for Eve. I found her on Instagram a year before our wedding and there was something simple but extremely unique about her photos, not overdone but still magnifying every single natural detail about the couples she shot and the elements around them. I reached out (nervous about the thought of using someone I found on social media, I’m still an old school girl at heart) and she was so open and made me feel like she wanted to get to know us and our story even more so than just wanting our business.
My (then) fiancé and I met her for dinner and he’s always skeptical and reserved about most everything, but midway through our conversation it was clear, he wanted Eve to be our photographer just as much as I did.
From our engagement photos at Venice Beach to everything leading up to our wedding day, Eve was there for and with us. Connecting with our planner, giving us suggestions we’d never have thought of, and helping us start to cultivate the vision for our special day. Even down to the venue selection (Carondelet House in DTLA), Eve was the first to suggest it to us and she knew that it was the perfect space for our “interesting” personalities.
When I look back on the day and everything leading up to it, I have to include Eve in the picture. She’s an INCREDIBLE photographer, with an unbelievable eye for detail, she’s also patient, kind and compassionate and that comes across in how she engages with you but also how she illustrates your story on camera. People are mesmerized by our photos and are constantly saying “whoever you had as a photographer brought their A game!” And it’s true, Eve is a rare creative talent, I’m so grateful to have had her as part of our wedding experience, but even more so grateful to have had the opportunity to begin to cultivate a friendship with her. If you want uniquely beautiful photos with someone amazing to work with, look no further, Eve Rox! -
