I cannot say enough amazing words about Evan. He was truly exceptional. From our first meeting with him, we knew he would be a calming and confident presence walking us through everything. On the day of the wedding, he navigated last-minute changes and everything so seamlessly and effortlessly. He was so calm and sure and creative with an incredible artistic eye to make our wedding feel unique and more "us" than just any other wedding. He is also wicked fast. Less than 5 days after the wedding did we had over 50+ photos of the sneak peek! And then the full gallery of photos ,less than two weeks after the wedding. He is remarkably fast and talented. Evan was the photographer for our wedding. He is an awesome guy to work with and on top of that, an AMAZING photographer and artist! He has such great visions for photos and how to capture the moments and emotions of such a special day. He made the whole process so smooth and natural we didn't feel like our wedding day was a photo shoot, but still ended up with more stunning pictures than we know what to do with!! We also never felt like he was in the way of the event, and really didnt notice when he was capturing his masterpieces. His assistant Alyssa was also so wonderful. It was clead they both knew what they were doing which was so evident in the photos they produced. We absolutely recommend Evan as a wedding photographer :)Evan Robold Photography's reply:

Amazing Wedding Photographer
Evan was incredible and absolutely the right choice for our wedding photographer. He is very kind and comforting. Even when we didn't know what to do next or how to pose, he didn't miss a beat helping and instructing us. We got so many photos back from him and every single one was incredible. While our portraits alone and with family turned out amazing, his artistic touch in the others was absolutely exceptional. Great Photographer and Great Guy
I cannot speak highly enough about our experience with Evan! Besides being an AMAZING photographer, he is a kind and down-to-earth guy and sincerely cares about making sure his customers are happy with his work. We hired Evan for both engagement photos and wedding photos, and were beyond pleased with both!
I really felt like he wanted to go the extra mile to make sure every special moment, every facial expression, every scene, was captured. And he was seemingly everywhere at once the day-of – I couldn’t believe the variety of scenes and people he was able to capture by himself – and in such a beautiful way (angles, lighting, etc.), not to mention!
He made my husband and I (and the wedding party, family) feel welcomed and comfortable while taking photos, which can sometimes be an awkward experience (but not with Evan)! He was also very patient with my chaotic, ADHD self and friends and family, which was appreciated.

Evan was absolutely amazing. His artistic talent went above and beyond my expectations. I had the pleasure of having him for our family pictures and then for our wedding. He scouted out the locations within the wedding venue before hand and had special places and idea already planned out. The colors were vibrant yet soft and romantic. He was able to place the shadows and light perfectly through the photoshoot while also being able to give directions and feedback while shooting. I could write a novel on why Evan was the best. First, he met with us a couple times before the wedding to make sure he knew what vision we were looking for, and answered messages quickly and sent us updates often. Second, though he easily worked with any details we gave, we had no clue how weddings worked and weren’t quite sure what we wanted to do. He came up with so many suggestions, ideas and thoughts for the wedding day and created a solid timeline. Day of, he came to say hello, scoped the venue, and started his magic. Through the whole night, Evan was kind, thoughtful, creative, funny, polite, the list could go on! Family though he was the greatest, they loved his personable and friendly demeanor. They were impressed with the way he was flexible and excited with our ideas and jumped into directing photos to make some amazing shots. It felt so easygoing and natural with how he led, but also so organized!
We didn’t feel like just another photo session, we could see his care and though put into the whole event. We got a little sneak peak the next day, and we couldn’t believe the crisp, clear pictures. When we got the rest of the photos, they were incredible, it felt like we were reliving the wedding night! There were so many details captured that we missed day of and I’m grateful to have those pictures. We laughed, cried happy tears and are blown away by the beauty of the locations he chose and how clean and gorgeous the photos turned out. I can’t pick a favorite! Do yourself a favor and book Evan for your wedding or event. Thank you so much Evan!

Evan was the perfect photographer for our wedding. He provided a beautiful engagement photo session months before the wedding and let us be as creative as we wanted (including hiking up a mountain!), and had a pre-wedding meeting where we reviewed the day's events and timeline. Evan was attentive to all aspects of our wedding the little details we wanted captured.
During the actual wedding, Evan was not intrusive, photographed sweet candid moments, and documented the day wonderfully. Evan lets the day, the people, and the vibe speak for itself, never forcing a "photo-op" to happen. He documented every moment in the background and truly let the day revolve around our joy with our friends and family naturally.
Not only is Evan a kind and easy person to work with, he produces quality photos. He is careful and thoughtful with his shots, and has a special eye for working with the light and the scenery around you. He turned our dreary, cloudy ceremony and after ceremony shots into something magical. We very much appreciated Evan's skills and presence at our wedding. Worth his weight in gold!
For an event that took a year to plan, the day of the wedding was an absolute blur - it goes so quickly! Thankfully, we have a treasure trove of amazing photos to help us remember the day for a lifetime, thanks to Evan. Evan was an absolute delight to work with! He was everything you could ask for from a photographer and more: friendly, thoughtful, professional, reliable (which is a massive relief during a pandemic wedding), and exceptionally talented! He’s an expert on using natural light and capturing great candids so all our photos look effortlessly natural and realistic - and we have photos with every guest! He also completed the edits and had our photos ready to review really quickly. Incredible experience, and one of the best vendors of our wedding. It is 10000% worth it to invest in a great photographer to capture your day, especially since you’ll work so closely with them on the day of! 1000/10 would work with again, would absolutely recommend to everyone for any and all photography needs. Evan was always on time, responsive and flexible to our requests and offered advice when we had no idea what to do for our photos. Evan is a talented photographer and has a real eye for detail. After our wedding, like all newlyweds, we had to return to the reality of work and life and the daily grind. However, the moment we received our wedding pictures from Evan, we felt like we had been transported back to that magical weekend. His photos captured every emotion of that day - the nerves, the excitement, the tenderness in the fleeting moments, and the love between us. The photos were an amazing gift that we knew was coming, yet they exceeded our expectations in every way. Looking through the photos reminds us of the magical moments that pass by way too quickly! Evan has a true gift, and we feel so lucky that we will be able to treasure the photographs for a lifetime! There are many amazing things we can say about Evan, namely, his willingness to adventure and travel to our destination wedding, his ability to work with all different personalities, and his uncanny talent to photograph emotion and beauty and the moments, all within the square of a picture. Evan did our elopement shoot in 2021 (that we used as our save the dates last year) and for our wedding this year. We cannot thank Evan enough for the experience we had with him. Evan was great, we are so glad he was our photographer. He did our engagement shoot and our wedding day pictures. And both came out so great, he definitely considered what we asked for and delivered.
We found Evan through recommendation from our friend’s wedding, we looked him up and liked what we saw. For our engagement shoot we had some specific asks, and Evan stepped up to the challenge and made it happen. Once he knew what we wanted, he figured out how and when to make sure that we got the shot we wanted. We got so many compliments for our engagement shoot, in particular our save-the-dates precisely because he made our vision come true.
For our wedding day, we had Evan and a videographer, and they worked so well together to make sure the final product was amazing. Evan was such a help during our wedding day, making sure we were not running behind schedule, and even helped reorganize our First Look to make sure that the moment was picture perfect! And it was!! Some of the images he got, we don’t even know how he got them! So good!! Evan’s style is laid back and candid shots.
My husband really liked that Evan provides all photos of the wedding day, he researched and this was something that he did not like that other photographers limited. Evan provides a digital album, a USB, and print allowance based on package.
I really liked that he was there for me, he took in all I said and followed my lead and did what was needed to get as close to what I imagined.
Some general bridal advice, always be direct to your vendors about what you want, what poses, what you like most, what you want to capture, what theme you want to go with, and such. Your photographer, Evan here, will do what you ask, he is there to get your wedding pictures, not theirs. Without direction you never know what you are going to get, so help them to help you.Evan Robold Photography's reply:

Evan was such an amazing, accomodating, talented, and kind photographer. Evan was in contact with is throughout the tumultuous attempts at setting up a wedding in 2020. Despite setbacks and rescheduling Evan continued to provide amazing service. Evan showed up early to our event and was able to communicate clearly with ourselves and our guests to get great intimate shots. The pictures are so beautiful and captured the fun and connection we had at our wedding. We got a link to high quality images of the pictures soon after our wedding in an easy to access and shareable format. During all of this Evan was always excited for our wedding and helpful. Beautiful, creative, and timeless photography
Evan was our wedding photographer last April at the Stillwell House in downtown Tucson. We were so happy with our experience with Evan. He made the whole process very easy especially since we planned or wedding while living out of state. He was very responsive and easy to make plans with when we knew we would be in town. Setting up an engagement photoshoot was easy and a fun way to practice and get to know him and his art a little more. He captured the feelings and beauty of our wedding day and I love reliving the day just by looking through the stunning photos. He is a true artist and professional and you can tell he loves what he does and truly cares for his clients. Evan was amazing! He was so comfortable to talk with, and I felt like he just understood what we wanted for our engagement and wedding photos. He’s taken family photos for my sister and she loved them as well. I can't recommend Evan enough. Not only does he have an incredible eye and is highly skilled at capturing natural shots, but I think his secret sauce is the positive energy he carries with him. I think that energy truly brings out the best in people, so that he is able to capture some amazing shots. Evan has photographed our family twice; once with our greater extended family and once with just our family of four. If you are looking for a wedding photographer, Evan is who you want-- and need to hire! He perfectly understood what we were imagining for our photos capturing the big day. He was flexible, incredibly easy to communicate with from a different state, and was a perfect addition to our plans. We can't wait to hire Evan again for photos as our family grows! -

The perfect photographer for my wedding at Saguaro Buttes
Evan was everything I was looking for in a wedding photographer. His portfolio is elegant yet accessible, like you can see yourself in his frames, but it’s an elevated version of yourself just by virtue of his composition and lighting. I could barely recognize myself in the mirror after having my makeup done for my wedding, but I see my best self smiling out of the pictures that he took that day.
I selected him as part of an inclusive package at Saguaro Buttes, so I’m not sure what his normal pricing is, however, whatever his cut of the package pricing was probably charity work that he can write off for taxes compared to what his caliber of performance and delivery should charge. (Side note, if you are getting married at Saguaro Buttes with one of their packages, PICK EVAN, don’t even bother looking through the portfolios of the other photographers, just trust me). All that to say, his services were well worth twice what I probably ended up paying for them.
Evan was very responsive and flexible, even meeting my husband and I last minute between Christmas and New Years to go over options and meet/greet. Like, 13/10 customer care people.
I would place Evan right in the middle of the Bossypants/laissez faire spectrum of wedding photographers that I’ve witnessed (also as a bridesmaid). He was gently directive during family shots and didn’t fuss posing people forever. I barely noticed him during the ceremony or the rest of the evening, but when you look at the pictures, he was obviously *everywhere at once*… like a photo ninja. He did a great job candidly photographing people throughout the reception as well, and it was fun to look back and see aspects of the party/wedding that we weren’t directing witnessing. And, somehow, he pulled off a miracle and got really cute pictures of the 7 plus sugar crazed nieces and nephews and got them all looking at the camera and smiling? Wow, this man either had extra cupcakes up his sleeve, or is a child herding genius.
I had told Evan that the scenery around SB was very important to me, and wow, he made us look like desert fawns and fairies getting married in our natural settings. It also helped that we had a monsoon roll through super dramatically, he captured every billowing cloud, saguaro, ocotillo, and HOLY COW YA’LL, THE SUNSET PICTURES. I can’t describe them, so I’ll just post. Evan is a natural setting photographer savant. Also, since he photographs a lot at SB, he is very comfortable and knows the exact angles and setups for everything, there’s no fussing around setting up a shot. He has everything down to a science.
…. If it sounds like I’m raving, it’s because I am. He is that good…. If you’ve read this far and aren’t convinced yet, just meet with him.

Evan's calming presence made the entire wedding party feel at ease during the photo session. He was able to help us set priority to our photos and get everything we wanted in a short amount of time. The moments he captured during the ceremony and reception will allow us to relive such a magical day for the rest of our lives.

Linda Sent on 06/13/2012I would highly recommend Evan Robold Photography not only to any brides out there looking for a wonderful photographer, but also for anyone looking for portraits in general. I stumbled upon Evan's website through weddingwire and I instantly fell in love with his pictures and style of photography.
My new husband and I don't share your traditional love story of meeting and falling in love and living happily ever after... our love story took a more practical approach, full of almost two years of bad timing (i.e. when I wanted to date him , he had a girlfriend...when he wanted to date me, I wasn't ready), but cemented in something real, a foundation that allowed us to see eachother for who the person really was from the beginning and being able to fall in love despite everything else. Because of this, we've never been too cheesy or taken eachother too seriously, we joke around a lot, and we're not afraid to be brutally 100% honest with eachother at all times.
We wanted a photographer who understood our unique relationship as a couple, and who would listen to us and work with us , as opposed to taking control of our pictures and making us pose for him, or putting us in cookie-cutter clothes and snapping our picture away! And we found that in Evan.
We were able to tailor and guide our own engagement shoot, and he was more than happy to let us pick our poses, locations, and yet somehow managed to capture some of the most beautiful, candid moments between us that truly captured who we are as a couple. Our wedding pictures are no different. In fact, i can honestly say that I don't remember seeing him taking pictures! He was always so professional and discreet at the church, never in anybody's way and photographing us in little quiet moments we knew we had (and loved), but never imagined we could remember them forever through his images.
With our marriage, my husband and I joined two cultures together, and Evan was so sensitive to that, everyone loved him! There was not one picture request denied, and it was so important to me that my family felt comfortable enough with him to ask him for this picture, or "can you take one of us please?". You never realize how important that is to you until you're living it on your wedding day, trust me!
I highly recommend Evan for your wedding day - you will not find a better overall experience anywhere else! -

Michelle Sent on 05/31/2012I am really happy to share our experience with Evan as our wedding photographer with all couples listening, to let them know what is possible for them in capturing their special day. With Evan, they can have their most precious moments caught in the most beautiful, intimate and unexpected ways and have those memories at their fingertips, and all the emotions those memories evoke for the rest of their lives. I am so incredibly grateful to Evan. He has blown us all away.
In searching for a photographer, I looked at the websites and photobooks of somewhere between 30-40 photographers before finding and choosing Evan. Evan's were the only photos that moved me to the point of tears and mind you, I was looking at people I didn't know!
Because my husband and I come from opposite sides of the country and I have family and friends overseas, we decided to have a very intimate wedding of immediate family and a couple of dear friends only. Because of this, I had it in my mind that the photography was so important because I wanted the photos to capture as much as possible, the essence of who my husband and I are to each other, who are family is to us, not just for our sake but also for our family and friends who weren't there with us. The resounding comment I have gotten from everyone is they see the joy and the love present and that "they felt like they were there" looking at the photos. That connected all of us in a way that is very special and important to me.
In addition to having seen his impressive work beforehand, from our first interaction and since, Evan's professionalism, his listening and clear communication, his true caring and commitment to what he does, left me totally confident everything would be great. What an understatement. He and his work surpassed all my expectations.
On that day, his calm, warm, kind, happy and fun demeanor and his high level of professionalism and skill were so wonderful and reassuring. We had FUN and it was all so peaceful and flowed! My husband and I could just BE and be in the moment with each other and fully enjoy our wedding day and the people we love most. All the joy, love and happiness we felt, and everything that was beautiful, was captured. Evan is a true artist with an eye for love.
I could go on and on but one final thing I want to share is that because of the cold weather the night of our wedding, we had to leave our beautiful outdoor reception to go indoors sooner than I had anticipated. I wanted so much for us to enjoy our reception outdoors. At that moment, I had to just let it all go and stay focused on what was most important. When we got the photos, my heart just overflowed at what I saw. Every single precious moment was there, and the beautiful reception with the candlelit table underneath lanterns hanging from the trees was captured in all its beauty in a way that looked magical. Nothing was missed. These were the best photos of our lives.
We consider Evan a friend and will ask him to take our family portraits going forward. I am so thankful we found him and that he is out there doing what he is meant to be doing in the world – capturing in the most beautiful way the love and happiness of family and friends. He can do the same for you. He and his work are priceless and more than worth the investment. You will be so happy and grateful you chose him.

Christina Sent on 04/06/2012Evan was very flexible and available which is what I needed since I was planning my wedding in only 8 weeks. He was the only photographer who responded to me promptly and was very flexible with a meeting place and time. I was limited since I was a full time college student, was working, and planning all the wedding arrangements! He was very professional from the beginning and easy going. A woman kept interrupting our meeting in a Starbucks and Evan rolled with it. He was not pushy and did not pressure us into buying a larger more expensive package, which we ended up purchasing on our own. His packages are inclusive and a great price for the quality of work.
On the day of the wedding he was prompt and began shooting immediately. He managed to capture the choreographed family shots and many "in the moment" shots beautifully. He was so good at capturing every detail of the wedding without us even noticing he was there. He takes his job very seriously and wouldn't even break to eat even when I insisted. If it wasn't for his amazing pictures I wouldn't know how the center pieces looked, the cake, anything without his help. He really was persistent in getting pictures of everything and even sneaked us out of our reception to capture a few last minute nighttime photos. My husband and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome of his work!
Evan was a blessing on our wedding day! And most of all his pictures are amazing! I have scrap booked them, frame them and even made his pictures into gifts for my family. I have some many favorite shots that you can't pick just one! He also was very patient and understanding with my guests and crazy family, which is hard to find in the wedding industry.
End of story, we strongly recommend Evan Robold Photography if you want gorgeous pictures and every moment of your wedding captured beautifully without a hitch.
