  Betsy is very detail orientated yet is still very kind and relaxed while photographing your biggest day! She adds her own touches and style along with getting exactly what the bride and groom want. She is honest, professional and very talented. My pictures were amazing and I felt like the most beautiful person in my special day. My favorite picture, one I didn't even know she had taken, was of my father walking me down the aisle! It still brings tears to my eyes years later. I would recommend Betsy with Easence Photography to all!!! Simply put...her work is AMAZING!

  When it came to photography for our wedding, I knew what I was looking for and that is because I am a professional wedding photographer as well. It took me a while to find Essence Photography but as soon as I saw one of her pictures I knew they were perfect for our wedding! From the moment I signed the contract, I had no regrets or hesitations. I trusted Betsy and her husband fully and I think that is the most important thing when hiring vendors for your wedding. The day of, they were there on time and really laid back but most importantly they were there to capture every little detail that I was too busy to even notice. They are both beyond awesome and I look up to both of them personally and professionally. Overall they are just amazing people and amazing photographers. I would highly recommend them!

  Hands down THE MOST AMAZING photographer team out there! Having Betsy and Justin photograph our big day was definitely the best decision we made. They exceeded all expectations and I would recommend them over and over again. They are such fun loving people and made everything so easy! Our family and bridal party loved them! They were incredibly organized and professional and also worked so well with the little children in our bridal party. If you are looking for a wedding/engagement photographer, look no further and BOOK THEM NOW! We are so happy with the experience and will cherish our beautiful photos for years to come!   Betsy and Justin are the most incredible photographers! They have such fun and positive energy and they were always there whenever we needed advice. They are exactly the type of people you want at your wedding. They are very supportive and always considerate of your needs on your big day. They roll with changes and provide great suggestions on how to capture the best moments. My husband and I were also happy that we did our engagement session with Betsy and Justin because it made us feel comfortable with them before the big day. Betsy was also a huge part of helping us figure out our day-of timeline, which made every detail fall into place. I have been recommending them to everyone I know and we can't wait to have them capture more special moments in the future. Thank you so much, Betsy and Justin!!

  Betsy and Justin could not have picked a better name for their business " essence photography" perfectly describes their style, its not about posing for a photo, they capture the real moments, and do so beautifully, the kind of moments that bring a tear to your eye when you look back at the photograph. I could not have dreamed for a better photography team to capture our wedding and will absolutely be calling them in the future, they did the perfect job of capturing all the emotion in such a special day, 5 stars!   When deciding on a photographer, consider different aspects of a vendor outside of the pricing. I chose Essence Photography after my interactions with Betsy over the phone. She was personable and willing to set up a basic template of how long each wedding event would last, before even being hired. She was fabulous and I would highly recommend her to others.

  It's hard to describe how amazing these two are. It's not just how great everyone looks in the photos, it's about how they captured the important moments with so much authenticity. They captured how much fun we all had, how amazing my wife looks and actually got our dog to look at the camera. Justin helped me put on my cufflinks because I had them on backward. Betsy took the time to capture a moment between my wife and her father when they bumped into each other on the way out of the hotel. We had a less than ideal spot picked out for our first look, but they still got the lighting perfect.
  Working with them is comfortable, professional and highly, highly recommended. Thanks guys!

  PICK THEM! Seriously it was like having a day of coordinator, an additional bridesmaid/groomsmen working with Betsy and Justin. They are timely, kind, funny/personal and brilliantly skilled. One of the best parts of my wedding was having them both there. They drove to Incline Village at Lake Tahoe to photograph my wedding. You won't be disappointed.

Despite a tight wedding day schedule, they never made our photo sessions seem rushed, but rather really peaceful and fun. One of my favorite things about them is that they are SO encouraging! They were positive about everything. Even when I forgot to mention that I wanted an extended family shot...including over 50 people, they were fazed by it, but made it happen. Our wedding day was in 114 degree weather outside, but they never complained and had smiles on their faces to the very end. I am more than satisfied with their services and product and would recommend them to anyone!

  Essence photography is the best company to hire for your wedding day. They are beyond amazing! Essence photography is a husband and wife team. Betsy, goes out of her way to make you happy and comfortable. I asked her to do a boudoir shoot before my wedding and she said "absolutely!" They are extremely professional and outgoing. They captured the little things, and all of the special moments that took place during and after our wedding, and we will cherish their work for years to come! I will never use anyone else.

  Betsy and Justin were amazing! We could not have asked for a better couple to photograph our love story. They were both vey friendly and made my husband and I feel very comfortable. All of our guests loved them and kept commenting on how awesome they were. I got all my pictures back by the time I got back from my honeymoon and I LOVE them all. Hands down, the best vendor I chose. I am so happy with this choice. If you are looking for 2 awesome photographers, PICK BESTY AND JUSTIN! YOU WONT REGRET IT!!!!

  There are not enough nice things I could say about our experience having Justin and Betsy as our wedding photographers. I met with Betsy a couple of times to discuss what my wants and goals were for the wedding day. She put together an entire timeline for me so I could have an idea of how things would flow on the day of. Justin was with the guys while Betsy was with me prior to the first look. Hair and make up ran about an hour over than it was supposed to, but instead of panicking, Betsy remained calm the ENTIRE time. This was a life saver to me because if she had been nervous, I would have had a breakdown!! Justin and Betsy stayed for 8 hours and captured all the most important moments of the day. Betsy made sure to show me a few photos throughout the day to make sure I was happy with what she was photographing, which I thought was really awesome. It showed how much they cared about giving us what we wanted. I also heard that Justin helped the guys with their pocket squares, which they were clueless about, so they were more than just great photographers!! I got my photos back within a month and I am so in love with them all. Seriously, they are both masters at what they do. I cannot thank them both enough for capturing our Love Story in the most beautiful way. It means more than we could ever express. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  I recently got married in June and I can't say enough nice things about having my photos taken by Betsy and Justin Erickson of Essence Photography. Being that these two are married, they made a fantastic team. I had a friend recommend Essence Photography, who sometimes shoots for our local Northstate magazine. Since I am so recently married, we've only gotten to see a few photos from our wedding. Betsy is open to trying any photo ideas you may have, but still tries to stay true to herself as a photographer and takes some really incredible shots.My husband's idea was to have us all dolled up and on his motorcycle. Betsy loved the idea and ran with it, and I can honestly say that I was absolutely THRILLED with the turn-out. The night of the wedding, she promptly uploaded her three favorite photos from the evening unedited, sneak-previews. Untouched, these photos were fantastic! With Betsy's keen eye we are anxiously waiting on the edge of our seats to see the rest of the photos. Especially the ones she pulled out all the stops on! We also paid for a photo booth which was a huge hit and was a great to entertain the young ones, or guests of any age! We took the photos from the booth and are having our guestbook made from these as a more fun memento of our wedding. Betsy came with a box full of props and urged us to bring anything else we thought would be fun props. Included in our package was a full eight hours of two photographers, a CD of all photo negatives, a photo album, and three hours of photo booth photographer and free digital copies of any photo booth pictures available for download via Essence Photography blog for any guests. Incredible. I would recommend this company to any of my friends who may be getting married, or even for family/maternity shoots which she also does at a very reasonable price.

  The most incredible photographers you will ever find!

  Betsy and Justin are truly the most wonderful couple and such a joy to work with. Starting with our engagement photos, we had a great time building a relationship with them. They made us so comfortable and we had so much fun shooting with them! Not to mention that their photographs are stunning...they make us look incredible. I’m still in awe over our engagement photos and the first wedding photos we’ve received! They are thoughtful, fun and talented and worth every cent we spent to have them document the best day of our lives. We love Betsy and Justin and cannot recommend them enough!
