Absolutely Gorgeous Makeup
I hired Erick for my October 2022 wedding. He did makeup for me and 6 other ladies. Everyone’s makeup looked flawless- in person and in photos. I didn’t have to do ANY touch ups the entire day or thru the evening even thru all my happy tears. Erick is so talented and everyone felt so beautiful that day. Wow! Amazing work, and great conversation
Erick was so amazing as a make-up artist, and really blew me away with his skill, and also his easygoing personality and how fun he made the getting ready process! He really made it so effortless to discuss potential looks for makeup, and kept up a fun conversation for the entire morning! The vibe was immaculate, and his work was AMAZING! I wanted a natural but glowy look, with a lot of sparkle and highlight, and he hit it out of the park! My girls and I all looked amazing, and felt incredible. Our makeup stayed put all night long (and it was a warm and rainy day!) He got to the venue for setup early, and due to my schedule being messed up (I was planning the wedding from a distance) we weren't able to do a trial, but I wasn't even stressed about that since I had seen his previous work and knew it was just what I was looking for! Overall, I couldn't recommend him enough, book now!!

Quick disclaimer that due to covid, our big wedding got cancelled so I only got to work with Erick for my makeup trial. However, my experience with my trial was so good I wanted to leave a review of Erick’s amazing work. Erick was very friendly and professional during the trial, helping me turn my vague description of elegant and elevated but still myself into my dream makeup. I have never had better, more beautiful makeup applied than at my trial and I imagine that had our wedding happened as planned, Erick would have been just as professional and awesome as he was during the trial. GIRLLL look no further. Erick is not only a total sweetheart, but he’s also an amazing makeup artist. I had a traditional Indian wedding that had several ceremonies. I booked Erick for a pre-wedding ceremony the evening before my wedding and he made me LITERALLY GLOW like a goddess. My outfit was a traditional Indian lengha with a green top and gold skirt. He found the perfect colors to match my outfit and make me pop. I can’t even tell you how many people were obsessed with the look he created. Erick came highly recommended to me by a few of my friends. I started following his work and realized that he is a big name out there in the makeup industry in GR! Not only could I not believe that he was available on our wedding day, I couldn’t believe that I was going to be lucky enough to have my makeup done by him.
My husband was nervous about me having my makeup done professionally as he likes the all-natural look and knows that professional makeup can be over the top sometimes. However, I mentioned this to Erick when I fit sat down and told him I’d like natural as possible and he just went to work. I took a chance not having a test trial and not meeting Erick before our wedding and let me tell you, I am so glad I trusted those friends because Erick is the real deal! He is personable, values his work (which his work is fabulous so how couldn’t he?) and he made me feel absolutely flawless on the biggest day!

I must write about my experience with Eric Gerson.
It was fabulous! I had my makeup done by Eric for my son's wedding June 29, 2018. I am 60 years old, and have been wearing makeup for what, 40 plus years?! lol I am an international flight attendant, only mentioning that because we love to sit on the jump seat and discuss what hair/makeup salon we will be visiting on our next layover, and we have the market cornered on the best places all over the world believe me. Eric is superb...he was my best experience ever. He is very knowledgeable...I have no doubt he was formally trained, however, he just "has it", I think it is in his DNA. He just knows what to do to make you look the best YOU can be. He has his own signature tricks of the trade and techniques that add depth here, highlights there, evens out/hides skin problems. His talents were above and beyond my expectations. Seriously, I felt like I looked at least 10 years younger by the time he finished.....great news if you're having tons of family photos ahead!!! The bride and bridesmaids looked like runway models.
OK one last note. Eric is kind. It is so nice to have a nice, sweet person working with you on what YOU want. He is patient, talented, and ok, if alll that isn't enough, he is sooooo handsome! My daughter, and new daughter in law, and I are going to take a class from him when we are all in Grand Rapids at the same time. Looking forward to it Eric. Thank you.

I can not say enough positive things about Erick. He made me feel like a princess for my day and was so very accommodating day of the wedding. I started out with 5 girls who were supposed to get their make up done and in the end ended up with 7 total. Erick was able to accommodate us and get all the ladies beautified in time for all the festivities. His makeup skills are simply amazing and really works hard to create a look that fits each person. Erick is the best make up artist in the state of Michigan. Hands down. He was such a pleasure to work with- he is fun, personable, easy going. He arrived early on the day of my wedding. Everyone's makeup was flawless. I reviewed the work of all the makeup artists in the GR area before choosing him. Where to start?! Erick does beautiful work! We originally met in February for a consultation and again the day before our wedding date, only because I had changed my look. I had a bit of "wedding brain" and missed our original time to meet. But being the amazing Erick, he rearranged his schedule to meet with me before our rehearsal dinner. I was SO thankful for this and sitting in his chair he has a way of putting you at ease. I honestly felt like I had known Erick for years and we were just good friends getting together.
The day of the wedding he showed up in my suite with all of his equipment. Again, worked his magic and made me not only look great but made me feel amazing! He left me with a little card and lip gloss for touch ups throughout the day. My make up never felt heavy and lasted until the early morning the next day. He is great at listening to what you want and gives you exactly what you request. Next time I am in Grand Rapids for an event of wedding I will be reaching out to him!

Erick did my makeup for my engagement photoshoot as well as my wedding day. He is simply amazing. He's so professional yet down to earth and he really brings your best features to life. Booking him was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I will forever be grateful to him for fitting me in his tight schedule and making me look my best on the most important day of my life. My makeup was simply flawless. It wore through the heat (engagement shoot) and tears (wedding day). What I take away most from my experience was how Erick understood my vulnerability of being bare faced and how he made me feel comfortable and at ease. Erick truly made me feel the best I have ever felt; he listens to you and your wishes, whether they are specific or broad. I had 8 people getting their makeup done that day and the last person looked just as amazing as the first. I would recommend him to anyone wanting to look their best on the most important day; the makeup never came off or creased and I felt like a true "bride" that day. He traveled to my wedding and did an amazing job with my make-up. He also did make-up for my mom, my flower girl, and my bridemaids. I knew I wanted someone to do my makeup for my wedding but I didn't know who. We were getting ready at a hotel so I thought it just makes sense to have their salon do the hair and makeup, right? Boy was I wrong. I left feeling very disappointed and clueless as to how to proceed.
I was fortunate that I was referred to Erick by my florist. My Mom and I met Erick for my trial and I have never felt more beautiful in my life. Also, he is just the sweetest person and is a true artist of his craft.
The day of he did my makeup, my Mom, my Mother in law, & all of my bridesmaids right in our hotel room. He came t us and made everything so easy the day of.
Erick is the real deal and with his skill it wouldn't surprise me if he moves to Hollywood or something so while he is in our area make sure to use Erick as your makeup artist for your special occasion.
When you look your best you feel your best and Erick is the person that can make that happen.

I got Erick's number from a local retailer. I called him the night before my cousin's wedding reception hoping he could fit me in somewhere for hair and makeup. I wanted to go with a 40's era theme to match my dress. With it being so last minute, I wasn't expecting it to be easy to get an appointment. Erick got back to me that same night and even though he had a bridal party of 11 that next day, he was willing to fit me in. I met with him on Saturday and he worked his magic. In little more than an hour, I was transformed into a 40's era pinup girl. Make makeup has NEVER looked so good. A week later, I am still blown away.
What he did with so little time and with such short notice was nothing short of amazing. The fact that he did it after a full day of appointments just shows what he is capable of. I am already thinking of several more occasions in the near future that I can book him for. I had a lot of fun with him, he gave me a lot of great pointers and tips, and I felt beautiful when I left. I would absolutely recommend him for any brides looking for a very talented, professional hair and makeup artist.

When I was looking for makeup artists for my wedding I thought everyone was just mediocre, until I came across Erick and when I saw pictures of his clients, I knew I HAD to have him do my makeup! He responded to me right away and we set up the first makeup trial. Since my makeup trial I have been back to him 6 times, and will have many more visits to come! He will make you feel so comfortable and relaxed asking you specifically what you want and if you want more or less he will gladly do so. I always just give him a general idea of what I'm looking for because whatever he comes up with always blows me away! You will also love his fashion, he looks like he just walked out of a magazine! When he asks you if you want lashes always say YES! I was skeptical at first but it just completes your makeover! I ever double up on them now just for the wow factor!:) Erick will make you feel like you're the most beautiful girl in the world, he has time and time again for me. So much so that when my sister in law announced her engagement the first thing it thought was "OMG we have to book Erick"!! So thats just what we did! While setting up and getting ready for a very good friends wedding this past weekend, I realized that I had pretty much sweated off all of my make-up. Erick was in attendance to do the make-up for CJ and others for this special wedding. I've heard wonders about Erick, because well, as a model-he does all of CJ's make-up, and she just had to have him there for her wedding! I wasn't even scheduled to have my make-up done. While the bride and wedding party were out getting their pics taken, I asked Erick if he'd help me out. With just a few questions, he proceeded to give me a fresh look for the wedding. Erick Gerson exceeded every expectation I had in terms of what I had "envisioned" for my look, and the look of the wedding party the day of our wedding. I had done a makeup trial with him prior to the wedding day. He showed up with a palette of all of the colors he had worked with during the trial,as well as a bag full of "sample sizes" for day of touch-ups! Who does this?!? I mean, how thoughtful:).

Erick was awesome from planning the practice run to the day of! I showed him some looks that I Iiked and he knew what i wanted for my big day. He kept in contact before the wedding to make we were in track . He showed up on time and ready to go and even did a final touch ip before I walked out to make sure that I was confident. He also did my mothers makeup and three of my girls, all with beautiful taste. Every one of my girls and I felt beautiful with our makeup. I would recommend him to anyone!

Erick is such a talented artist. I wasn't planning on having my make up done for my wedding, but after he did my makeup for a boudoir session (package through the photographer), I decided I couldn't not have him do my wedding make up. He does such an amazing job and is so easy going, professional and fun to be around. I am so glad that I had my makeup professionally done- it was definitely worth it. My pictures never would have looked as good as they did without having my makeup done (both boudoir and wedding). After my wedding trial, 4 of my bridesmaids decided they wanted him to also do theirs, and two others wanted their lashes done for the big day. Everything was perfect- we each received so many compliments! My mom even got hers done- she's never had it done before and was a bit nervous, but felt very comfortable with what Erick did for her. She looked so natural and beautiful, and never wanted to take the fake lashes off! Thank you Erick for helping to make my wedding day so great!

He listens to what you want and he was able to give really great makeup for all of my bridesmaids who had all different ethnicity and skin tones. I was part of a wedding party that Erick did makeup for recently. I was blown away by how talented and professional his work was. He is a true artist and one-of-a-kind! I highly recommend him! I don't usually wear much makeup, but I didn't feel over-done at all. I just felt like his beautiful work was what tied all the bridesmaids looks together and polished it off. I can't say enough about this gentleman. He was AMAZING!

I have never had a make up artist before but I couldn't imagine one being any better than Erick!! Kind hearted, great to work with, talented and extremely professional! He did all of my bridesmaids makeup and my mom's. We all got compliments on how wonderful we looked and from my husband...who does not notice things like makeup said thank you to Erick for making me look "absolutely beautiful!" The greatest part was when we woke up for family breakfast the next day we still looked as amazing as the night before!!! I can't thank him enough for making my perfect day even more perfect!! He already has the business of my bridesmaids that are not married yet :)

Erick did mine and my bridal parties make up for my wedding and I could not have asked for a better person. I am not from the area and his promtness and helpfulness through emails, texts, etc. helped ease my stress. He came out to my hotel room which also made my wedding day a lot less stressful. Erick is great at what he does and listens to what type of look you are wanting. He was even able to squeeze in one of my friends who was jealous of how our make up looked and wanted hers done too! I highly recommend Erick as you will not be disappointed. He has an awesome personality and was easy to get along with.

Erick was phenomenal. He is extremely talented and I will definitely refer him to my friends and be using him for any special events. The aibrush makeup was essential, I looked so natural and not caked on like some airbrushed brides can look. He also used a no sweat kind and since it was an 85 and humid day I was worried I would look sweaty and gross, but my bridesmaids kept saying "You aren't sweating at all!" He also was very professional and timely, him and his assistant were able to come to the hair salon, do 7 bridesmaids and the mother of the groom between 9-11 am and then came to my house to do my makeup and my mom's. I can't say enough about how good my bridal party looked. One comment I would make is to be careful on the size of the fake lashes, some can look a little big.

Erick is the best makeup artist I ever meet! He treats you with respect, always puts his brides first, he would work with you from the makeup trials to the wedding day. He is always alert to what you want. No matter how busy he is, he still picks up his phone and return the calls for anything you want. As a bride, I will recommend Erick to anybody. He does such great makeup for you. As a picky bride I didn't need to redo any of his work! He is super great! If I had to choose again, I would pick Erick in a heart beat.

Erick is amazing!!!! He was professional, personable, and paid attention to every detail that went into creating the desired look for my wedding day. Our trial was over two hours long, not because the makeup application necessarily takes that amount I time, but because Erick took the time to get to know both me and my vision and take my trough the application process step by step to make sure I was completely satisfied. On the actual day day of the wedding, I was running late from my hair appointment, but Erick was there waiting patiently for me even after a full day of work with a smile. He perfectly replicated our trial look, with some last minute adjustments I asked him about (it was no problem for him, of course), and it turned out beautiful and lasted the entire night. Erick is worth every penny!!!!

I had 2 wedding ceremonies Church wedding and Indian wedding. Erick did my make up for both. He is such a charming, friendly person to work with. He made me look stunning on both days :)
My eyes were red from not enough sleep the night prior to my wedding. Erick was so sweet that he gave me eye drops to clear my eyes.
He is so talented and knows exactly what he is doing. He used MAC makeup on me and it felt great!
I had a trial session prior to my wedding at Erick's place and he made me feel so comfortable. He took my mom's suggestion for my Indian wedding and made me look exactly like she wanted me to be. That was the first time that I have ever used help from a makeup artist. Usually, I do makeup myself and did not realize what a HUGE difference it will be to actually have makeup done by a professional, especially like Erich! I LOVED Erick from the moment I met him. He is so fun, easy going, and really makes you feel comfortable. When we did my makeup trial I didn't want to leave I could have him do different make up on my all day. He spent a lot of time with me when we first met going over my skin type, any allergies, and looks that I was envisioning for my big day. When it got closer to my wedding I decided to do another make up trial the same day as my hair trial. I know Erick is busy, but he squeezed me right in and really made me feel important. The day of the wedding he did an AMAZING job. My makeup lasted all day and even through crying stayed perfect. The morning of the wedding he was on time, professional, and fit right in with our group. I look forward to using Erick's services again in the future for events! XO

I used Erick as my makeup artist for my wedding day. Unlike most MUA's, Erick traveled from Grand Rapids down to Kalamazoo even though it was only me getting my makeup done. He was extremely quick to reply to my e-mails and messages, and was super flexible with the date and time. He showed up right on time (even early!) He even had asked me to send him a picture of the look I wanted to go for so he already had a good idea.
He was an absolutely joy to work with. We had such a great time. He made me feel like the most beautiful girl in the world. The makeup was not overdone whatsoever. He definitely listened to what I wanted, but also gave me some great advice on makeup. He was easy to talk to, and made me feel like we were best friends by the time it all got done. In fact, during the makeup application, Erick got me laughing so hard we had to stop doing makeup and regain composure :)
I was beyond pleased with the makeup Erick did for my wedding. I will definitely be using him again in the future. Thanks, Erick :)
