CJ was awesome from start to finish! ALL of our guests made comments to us that we had the best DJ at our wedding that they have ever been to which meant everything to us because we wanted everyone on the dance floor and to have a good time which everyone did! CJ mixed music seamlessly song after song and used his mic to get the guests excited. He truly made our reception better than what we could have ever asked for. We didn't leave the floor all night!
From the very start CJ was amazing to work with! He is very easy to communicate with and super responsive to any questions. He has a worksheet to fill out with any specific songs for certain parts of the evening or for the reception dance floor, and by the end of the night he had gotten to every requested song. He was even able to throw in the Eagles fight song for the groom! There were a few moments in the night that we let CJ decide the music for and he chose the perfect songs to fit the vibe. He was great at reading the dance floor and adjusting to the crowd, and he had some fun mixes of well known songs to switch things up. On more than one occasion our guests raved about CJ through the night, and we couldn't have been happier with his work.

We Danced All Night Long
CJ was wonderful to work with for our wedding! He was very communicative and easy to talk to, and was happy to chat whenever we had questions about putting the day together in the months leading up to our wedding. I had a particular music cue that I wanted for my entrance, and CJ worked with us and our coordinator to make sure it happened perfectly.
He made sure the evening flowed well between all the events, so there was no dead time or confusion among the guests. And kept the music at a good level during cocktail hour and dinner--perfect background sound that still allowed for conversation.
He did a fantastic job of keeping the energy high during the reception! We danced all night, and each song was timed perfectly for the crowd's energy. We couldn't have been more pleased, and would certainly recommend him for anyone looking for a DJ!

Entertainment Excellence - emphasis on the EXCELLENCE
DJ CJ is professional and responsive. He actually mixes music and doesn’t just play off a playlist. He has great energy, and when we were unsure if all our music tastes and genres would mesh well together, CJ assured us and created a great dance set that had all the music we liked and more. Many of our friends told us that our DJ was great and that they can hear how he mixed the music to transition well or be more suitable to dancing. Our only regret was that we were so busy during the wedding that we could not spend the whole time on the dancefloor because CJ was playing banger after banger.

We booked Jason for our wedding and he went above and beyond! He was incredibly responsive anytime we had a question, was super helpful on our planning calls, and made the wedding fun for everyone. From our initial intro call to the wedding day, CJ was extremely organized, professional, and personable. He made an effort to get to know my fiancé and I, checked in multiple times before the wedding day, and implemented a seamless process to capture the important songs and details of the day. On the wedding day, CJ arrived early to the venue and was ready to go with high quality equipment with plenty of time to spare. He nailed every cue, introduction, transition, and song we requested. He did an amazing job incorporating the songs we picked ahead of time with other similar songs that fit the vibe perfectly and maintained a high energy dance floor the entire time! It was such a relief not having to remind him of any details or stress about anything on the wedding day - he was on top of everything. I would definitely recommend him to anyone hiring a DJ!

CJ saved our Wedding!
CJ was a life saver for our wedding! Starting with meeting him for the first time, he was super understanding and helped guide us with what our ideal wedding sounded like. He was super approachable and responsive to our questions. When we sent him our playlists for what we wanted him to play he went over each song and made sure he had the correct song by the correct artist which was super helpful. Now for where he saved our wedding! Our venue made a mistake of using our props for a wedding the night before but when CJ found out, he offered to use his cold sparks for us which was absolutely amazing! He kept the party alive and the fun flowing! We had so many guests come up to us during and after asking us if where we found CJ and loved his work. CJ made the soundtrack of our best day ever amazing.

We booked CJ for our Wedding in March. CJ was very responsive throughout the whole process, has a detailed guidebook and will customize your experience (ie you can select a lot of the song you want or give him a general idea of what you are looking for and he will create the playlist). Additionally, CJ was fantastic on the mic as an MC which is very important at a wedding. He double checked names, was very clear in his speaking/pronunciation and in general has a great vibe for a wedding. I would highly recommend booking CJ for your wedding or other event.

We hired CJ after having two completely unrelated people recommend him and now that my wedding is over, I can understand why!
CJ is quick to respond which is key when you're making last minute changes to things only a few days before the wedding. He is also super organized and provided us with a Google Doc to list out what songs we wanted for certain events and what songs we definitely didn't want played. He is also great at hyping up the crowd and keeping people on the dance floor.
We were also able to add a photo booth to our contract which allowed us to to limit the number of vendors we had!

CJ and his team were truly phenomenal and the best people to have for our wedding day! We LOVED DJ CJ. He’s the reason you go with a DJ instead of a band for a wedding. He was communicative and collaborative the entire time. We made him a Spotify playlist to give him an idea of the songs we would like and told him to feel free to put a spin on it/do remixes and live mixing and he did NOT disappoint. Never once was the dance floor dead and he mixed songs together that you would’ve never expected but caused so much excitement. Can’t recommend him more!

The BEST wedding DJ!
CJ was our wedding DJ and he exceeded our expectations! He was very prompt in responding to any questions we had prior to our pre-consult phone call, extremely organized in providing a worksheet to fill in all music logistics, and was thorough in ensuring the music was precisely played for our religious ceremony. I had a more special request for CJ during my mother-daughter dance to honor my dad who had passed away, and CJ knew exactly how to mix two songs and offered a suggestion that made the moment just perfect. As a musician myself, CJ was the best choice!
As a wedding vendor and musician myself, I can say that CJ is the best DJ I've encountered--and at such a reasonable price, too! After meeting with 10 different DJ vendors, I booked him back in late 2022 for our September 1 2023 waterfront wedding on the Chesapeake, and he has since stayed communicative, and also sent us promotions and deals we could take advantage of for add-ons such as uplighting, cold sparks, party lights, etc. Not only was Entertainment Excellence the best bang for our buck, but now that our wedding is over, we cannot stop talking about how incredible CJ was.
He mixes songs incredibly well so that there's no mismatch in beats/rhythms - this was the biggest deal for me. There's been a lot of DJs I've encountered where they'll have clunky transitions, or they'll play the beginning parts of songs where there's no beat, which makes people leave the dance floor because of the 'downtime.' CJ made sure that did not happen!
In the early stages of planning, he will send you a spreadsheet template that has everything he needs from you. I gave him Spotify playlists that I had compiled myself for cocktail hour, for dinner, and for the reception dancing. (Note: he does use non-explicit versions of songs, so if you happen to have explicit versions, he'll find the clean version for you, or do the mixing well enough that expletives are not heard!).
I did not hire a wedding planner and did all the planning myself, and CJ was actually instrumental in helping me with the event flow. He made the effort to track me down to make sure my husband and I were ready for the next thing in the event before he announced them, from party entrances to special dances (e.g. father/daughter or mother/son dances) to speeches.
Our wedding was 5:30pm-10pm, and though we only booked him for cocktail hour (6-7pm) and reception (7-10:30pm), he let us use his mics for the ceremony beforehand. His mics were high quality - NO feedback, static, or poor volume balance, which was critical during our vows and the speeches. Our cocktail hour was outdoors on a rooftop, and the reception was indoors, and he was able to set up for both areas for a seamless transition.
The two vendors we could not stop raving about were our photographer/videographer and our DJ. They will make or break your wedding experience, in my opinion. Hire CJ & Entertainment Excellence for your DJ/emcee services! Everyone was impressed with how smoothly our wedding went, and although I'd like to take credit for having planned the wedding myself, I know that a lot of it had to do with CJ and his event pacing. I'm extremely happy with Entertainment Excellence and CJ's services.

Amazing wedding DJ!
DJ CJ did our ceremony and reception and our guests were raving about him! He was very responsive leading up to the wedding and was excited to get an idea of our "vision." So many of our guests commented on how great of a job he did. I would definitely recommend CJ to a friend!

We hired CJ for our big wedding day, great decision. CJ created a space to feel inviting and warm with his uplighting and the music he curated made our guests stay on the dance floor! We cannot recommend Entertainment Excellence enough! CJ was professional, communicative, organized, and fun throughout the whole process. DJ CJ is the best! Very professional and helpful leading up to the wedding. We had some family members who could not attend in person, and CJ was more than willing to FaceTime them from his personal phone so they could watch our ceremony and toasts.

CJ was incredible to work with! Far and away our most responsive vendor, his attentiveness to detail, flexibility, and general professionalism made a stressful event significantly better. He was very thorough in the meetings prior to our wedding and really took the time to get to know us. It felt as though he was more our friend then vendor on the day of. We had lots of guest comment to us after the wedding how much fun they had and how much they enjoyed DJ Kenny and his song picks. I was very nervous when choosing the DJ for our wedding as the dancing is my favorite part of a reception. DJ Kenny was very easy going, understood my vision and was easy to collaborate with. CJ was amazing & very flexible to add the prefect selection for our wedding. He was step up and ready welcome our guest. He even started playing music prior to our actual contracted time as guest arrived early. He kept the night flowing and our guests danced the entire length of our reception. I met CJ working at my old job and when it was my turn to pick a dj he was the first one I reached out to. Everything leading up to our wedding was seamless. He was quick to get back to us if we had any questions and very helpful with any music suggestions. The day of the wedding from the ceremony to cocktail hour and dinner was amazing. After dinner was dancing time and we still have friends talking about the HITS THAT CJ THE DJ played. We gave CJ music request and then he had some of his own, and everything about it was perfect. We had our friends dancing all night long.

Highly recommend DJ CJ! Hired him for our 10-28-22 wedding. He was always responsive, professional, and friendly. He provided a worksheet that was very helpful for planning, and was always open to chat to ensure we were on track. CJ is open to running with some of your favorite genres, or playing a curated list of your favorites. We went the curated route and he incorporated all of our requests, with an impeccable flair for mixing and mashing songs. CJ also was not at all intrusive- he made event-related announcements, but was not constantly chatting/promoting. We got so many compliments about how it was the best, most constant dance party ever, which is exactly what we wanted. Thank you, CJ!

Hire this guy! Seriously, CJ the DJ is the best and made our 10/15/22 wedding so much fun. We got lots of compliments from friends and family on how good of a time they had, and a lot of that is credit to CJ. He’s very communicative and helpful with timeline and was happy to offer suggestions. You can be super specific and provide him with a list of songs or keep it vague and just tell him genres and he will do his thing! We only had a few specific song requests otherwise we let CJ work his magic. He even let my husband karaoke. We can’t recommend CJ enough if you want your wedding to be an awesome time.

I received DJ CJs name from another wedding I had attended and knew from that day whenever I got married I would go with him. When the time came I reached out to him while I was in a different time zone and he quickly responded despite how late it was. Throughout the whole process he was very professional- setting aside time to call, answer all questions, and was very accommodating with the acoustic music performer I had for cocktail hour offering him equipment and whatever else he may need. When the day of comes he is dressed very professionally. He knows when to change the music over to keep everyone on the dance floor and helps keep the night moving at the perfect pace. Along with is awesome DJ skills, I had always wanted to rent cold sparks for our grand entrance but could not find anyone with them until I book DJ CJ. His entertainment add-ons were the perfect touch for our fairy tail wedding.

DJ CJ was just the BEST choice for our wedding. From our first conversation I felt like I was in good hands and could tell he was experienced in his craft. CJ really took the time to get to know us and our style to curate the best experience for us on our big day. The ceremony ran so smoothly (even with last minute weather related ceremony changes), his MC skills were perfect, and the dance floor stayed packed and lively. There is little, if nothing, more that we could have asked of our DJ for our wedding. CJ was communicative throughout the entire process, working with us in the time leading up to the wedding and adjusting things to our schedule. He was prepared, professional, and helpful in making sure everything was ready for the big day. Perfect DJ!
CJ was wonderful to work with. He was able to seamlessly address all of our requests (mic/amp for a family friend playing the bridal processional; a variety of mics for the ceremony; music across multiple spaces). He built perfectly on all the playlists we sent to both accomodate our tastes and incorporate his expertise. He was a timely and thorough communicator, and even surprised us with video to capture moments when our photographers were busy. He is personable and relaxed and we would work with him again in a heartbeat.

Absolutely amazing!
We had CJ for our wedding this past weekend. He went out of his way to make sure everything was how we wanted. He asked all the right questions and I’ve had nothing but compliments from my friends and family about him and his work. He is very personable, very prompt and he put on an absolutely amazing show. Absolutely amazing!
CJ was a fantastic DJ and emcee for our wedding! He came to us as a recommendation from someone else, and we could not have been happier with his services. CJ met with us at our venue when we hired him, which to me was going the extra mile. He struck me as very professional, kind, and serious about his work. He happily fielded our countless questions, mostly regarding the reception. We had a traditional Korean paebaek ceremony, followed by a cocktail hour and reception, and CJ did a great job organizing the music for each (we mostly had him choose the music and were very satisfied with his choices) and even played our rather specific Korean ceremony music from mp3's shared with him before our event. We highly recommend CJ to anyone looking for a great DJ for their event!

Totally Awesome!!
CJ of Entertainmet Excellence was our DJ this weekend for a beautiful wedding ceremony and fabulously fun reception. He was responsive to all our requests right from the start. He called us back, let is make tons of changes to our selections, knew every song we asked for, made great recommendations for where to cut songs for our ceremony, our wedding party introductions, and our first dance to make everything flow seamlessly. He learned all of our family members names and did fun introductions all the while somehow managing to let us be the center of attention and never upstaging us. He had all the right equipment and set up multiple mics for different parts of the event. Our highest compliments to him and we will recommend him again and again!

2022 USNA Commissioning party
CJ was amazing. He really got our party going. During dinner he served appropriate music for all to enjoy even some older folks. When it was time for dancing he kicked it up and we all really had an amazing time. I would highly recommend him and his business. I even put a recommendation on the usna parents page. Lastly.. You need DJ CJ!!!
CJ was phenomenal! He was highly recommended by the venue, along with several other local brides so I knew that I would be in good hands. From our very first phone call it was clear that CJ was a professional and that our special day would run smoothly and our guests would absolutely be out on the dance floor! CJ allowed us to share our music taste, what we were looking for, and any absolute musts or no go’s. What I loved most about CJ was how well he read the crowd and mixed up our favorite dance songs to keep everyone excited and on the dance floor! He even got my dad and all of our grandparents on the dance floor at one point or another which simply does not happen, lol. I can’t wait to see the video for our wedding, I know we have some pretty amazing photos that show just how much fun everyone had singing and dancing all night long! This is one vendor you do not want to mess up, I would highly recommend CJ for any event!

CJ the DJ is the one for you if you want a party!
CJ the DJ was awesome! We chose him based off of our photographer’s recommendation and do not regret it. We wanted a party and we had everyone on the dance floor until the venue closed us down. CJ took into account that we loved what you could call “dive bar dance playlist” and ran with it. Everyone has a blast and hasn’t stopped talking about how much fun our dance floor was.
In addition. CJ surveyed the venue layout and suggested some changes the day of. We really appreciated him taking into account the logistics of the venue and how to make it work best for is regardless of our original plan.
CJ is a true expert and we really are thinking of ways we could hire him again.

CJ was the best DJ we could have ever asked for. Never been to a wedding where the crowd was chanting the DJ's name at the end of the night, but that's what happened at ours!! Dressed to the nines, incredibly professional, met our every desire, and was incredibly flexible with our date changes due to covid! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

CJ was by the far the most easy vendor I dealt with for our wedding. His communication is on point! He is very professional and went above and beyond to accommodate me. He allowed me to have a song for each person in the wedding party. Helped with all my off the wall dance combinations. And most importantly, kept the dance floor packed. I still get asked today, 9 months later, who my DJ was. Totally recommend CJ!

Where to begin- DJ CJ was absolutely amazing! I was a little nervous about the general crowd that we invited to our wedding and if they would even get out on the dance floor... We gave CJ a list of song requests and he played a little of everything plus some of his own choices and everyone was on the dance floor!! He was very attentive to detail and organized throughout the planning process. We had several phone conversations to go over everything from song choices to name pronunciation of the bridal party for introductions- which made me feel at ease and I knew he had everything under control. Wedding planning can be stressful and honestly I was over making decisions so I am so thankful for CJ’s recommendations and suggestions!
We added the dance floor lights onto our contract last minute and I am so glad we did!! We had a bucket of glow sticks and with the lights- it was soooo much fun!! The last song was bittersweet, I think everyone was ready to dance all night long!!

Get ready to dance!
I will be 100% honest that wanted a band for my wedding but couldn't fit it into my budget since were pretty picky with music (fiancé wanted a DJ). After speaking with Dj CJ we thought he would be a great fit. He was not only flexible with our COVID delayed wedding, it was the best DJ I have ever heard. DJ - CJ Curtis doesn't just play songs, he mixed it up with great remixes, not just a set play list, kept every age group on the dance floor for the entire night. CJ is not your traditional DJ- he was there to make it a dance party. Best decision we made for the weekend - 10/10 recommend

AMAZING to work with!
CJ was implemental in making sure our wedding day went as smoothly as possible. We set up planning calls prior to our big day—so everything was communicated weeks prior to our wedding. I even texted him the night before to have him change a few of our selections and he had no problem being flexible with us at all. He made sure to go over everything with us thoroughly so we were all on the same page. He was professional, but absolutely knew how to get the party started and keep it going until the end of our reception. We let CJ choose what to play for the dancing portion of our reception and he impressed us with his modern and upbeat selections. Everyone could not stop saying good things about the music and MCing! We received numerous recommendations to have CJ Curtis be our DJ and we were so happy we did! CJ was very responsive and knowledgeable with guiding us through the planning leading up to the wedding and had great input on different options that we hadn't thought of. The day of, he did a great job in setting up, especially because we weren't sure if we would be indoors or outdoors for our reception due to a last minute rain storm. We were running behind at the start of the night because of the rain and CJ was instrumental in helping us adjust our timeline and entertaining our guests with lively music. MADE the Party!!
We absolutely LOVED CJ. He was recommended to us by a friend who had been at a wedding he djed. She said he was so fun and kept the party going-which was exactly what we were looking for. He did not disappoint! We had 3 different locations at our venue that we needed music and he was able to accommodate all of them. We had someone singing and he was able to help with that as well. You are absolutely doing yourself a disservice if you don't book CJ!!

DJ CJ was the perfect fit for our wedding - from the planning stages to the actual day-of, we felt confident that DJ CJ would help make our wedding a blast. I’ve Never Danced So Much!
CJ was wonderful! He was always quick to respond and very organized in his paperwork and getting information to us! At the wedding, he knew what was going on better than we did! Lol. He kept great track of timing of different events and ran over to remind us when our cake cutting song began to play, and we had missed the signal! All our guests were on that dance floor breaking a sweat the whole night, including my now husband, who NEVER dances lol. CJ was recommended to us by a friend whose daughter had used him 7 years before for her wedding. My friend said it was a while ago but she remembered being on the dance floor ALOT. 7 years later, snd we had the same experience! We highly recommend CJ! Thanks, CJ, for a wonderful wedding! :-)
