Amazing Experience
We used Cranks for our wedding catering and they did a fantastic job! They were super communicative and friendly leading up to and on the day of our wedding. Cindi was always available to answer questions and make sure everything was just right, even when It was something as small as water goblets, lol. They did a great job listening to my husband and I's preferences for food and how we wanted everything to go. We did the plated dinner option at our backyard wedding, and It really added that extra touch to our special day. The grill on site was also really cool, and everything tasted delicious! The bartenders and wait staff were super friendly as well. Highly recommend. -

Amazing Food
This group was super easy to work with on our menu for our special day. The food was amazing! The saft was even better. Worked like a well oiled machine!! Hands down would use their food catering services for other events!! -

Very professional and kind/ friendly
We had to move our daughters wedding to our back yard a week ago Sunday 3 weeks before the date ....due to covid.
Cranks was amazing and took care of us with an amazing staff that were friendly and kind. This caterer Took extra care to setup the buffet table and decorate with extra greenery- just beautiful! The food was amazing. We had chicken and beef kabobs- grilled fresh on our driveway! All the sides were delicious!
I can’t thank Cranks enough for making this wedding elegant and fun - assisting with linens and and even scalloped the lace overlay on the head table . Excellence is a word for this company- you won’t be sorry! -

Bridal Shower
They catered my recent bridal shower, the food was amazing the service was perfect. Everyone absolutely loved their catering, Really happy we went with them they took into account my food allergies. It was the perfect bridal shower brunch. -

Great community-based catering service! This was the first event I've hosted in which the food received such high praise. The Baked Herb Chicken, Red Skin Parsley Potatoes, Pasta Primavera, Green Bean Amandine.... all excellent! Also, the boxed-lunches are an outstanding deal (gluten free options too), and the deliverable Hot Buffets are not only rich in choices, but very delicious. Thank you Cindi and the team at Crank's! -

We hired Crank's Catering for our 4/8/17 wedding and could not be happier! We attended a tasting two weeks before our wedding to solidify our menu choices and we were so impressed with the quality of the food and service!
We chose the herb chicken, sausage and peppers, lasagna, red skin parsley potatoes and mixed veggies for our buffet dinner. The staff at Crank's was more than happy to customize our menu to our taste.
The buffet was gorgeous at the wedding and the food was delicious - we got tons of compliments!
The serving staff during our reception was phenomenal! They checked in with us before moving the cake or the cake table, let our guests know when it was time to get food and even helped clean up our personal table items.
We could not be happier with Crank's! -

Michael Crank is a wonderful person to work with. Cranks is very accommodating and flexible. They have a beautiful banquet facility as well as off site catering capabilities. Food presentation is beautiful and taste great. -

Crank's goes above and beyond when it comes to anything really. Michael is an amazing person inside and out and will take his time with you. He goes through details and makes sure you get exactly what you're looking for. We highly recommend going to a food tasting where they provide a number of different options if you're unsure about what to order.
The food arrived on time and everyone LOVED it. Along with your catering order, they provide salad, rolls, fruit. There was so much food leftover! What's incredible is they always donate their cold food items and the hot food can be boxed for anyone to take home.
Everything about Crank's is fantastic. I would absolutely go with them again. We are so grateful! -

I had my ceremony and reception here! It was absolutely perfect and the staff is awesome! Don't be discouraged because of its location. Not only is the inside gorgeous but they also have a private pavilion area that is very spacious and beautiful! The dance floor was also something I made sure was good to accommodate my large guest list. I had 250 people at my wedding and this venue was great! -

Cranks Catering was FANTASTIC! They were great when we were booking, making sure that we knew we had time to choose the menu and give them a head count. When we went to hand in our final payment the rep we worked with was very friendly and helped us do what we needed to.
THE FOOD WAS AMAZING!! We had many guests tell us later that it was the best wedding food they've ever had. I almost wish I wasn't the one getting married so I could have spent more time eating! Unfortunately I do not remember the servers names but they were very helpful and very professional.
I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Cranks to anyone for any event!! -

Our wedding was on the holiday weekend. Cranks provided great food and service. They worked with me to specialize a brunch menu that was delicious and perfect for a wedding brunch. Highly recommended!! -

I can not say enough about this place! Everyone was so nice! The food was great! The venue was elegant I loved it! I didn't hire a wedding planner so I thought that may complicate things ,but Michael made sure everything was spectacular! Ladies check out this place! I actually had my reception at a cranks catering banquet center -- Enchantment in Shelby Township. One might not think it from the outside since it's a strip mall, but the banquet center is BEAUTIFUL. I had so many compliments on my wedding day. It is bright, lined with windows, nice outdoor patio with a gazboo, huge beautiful bar....just a gorgerous venue,definitely not your standard boring dark banquet room. Not only is the venue pretty but the food was fabulous. I had people coming up to me all night long to tell me how wonderful everything was. It was so good i'd crash someone's wedding for more! LOL jk The staff is very friendly and helpful. It was perfect and the price was affordable. I'd definitely reccommend Enchantment by Cranks Catering to any and everyone! I will definitely use them in the future for any catering needs. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. -

We had Crank's cater offsite and they provided everything we needed. Linens, dishes, silverware, service staff, and absolutely delicious food! I may be biased because it was my wedding day, but truly, it was the best wedding food I have ever had. Absolutely amazing. They set it up buffet style but served myself and the groom, then when everyone was done, they cleaned up quickly so the dancing could begin. I would highly recommend Crank's Catering to everyone. -

We had Crank's prepare the food for our reception.We loved how inexpensive everything turned out to be and how the flavor was consistent in all the different food types.Everything worked out smoothly we picked everything up and started the meal when everything was still warm. -

Everyone is raving about the food at our wedding.
This is the caterer where people actually get up and go have seconds.
They were very easy to work with, flexible, and available for questions.
If booking with this caterer, or even considering it, they offer a sample dinner, where you and your intended can go and try it out.
The day of the wedding, they were very professional, dressed sharply, nice to the guests.
Cranks catering made the reception start and end without any problems.
The food is excelent! We splurged on one option, and it was well worth it!!
Cranks Catering works solely with Michigan Metro Parks, the quality of service they bring to the event is amazing. -

The quality of Crank's service is incredible. I can't say enough good things about the food, the staff, and the service. I was so appreciative of their flexibility when I had asked for a few last minute changes to the alcohol package. They also easily accommodated my vegetarian and GF guests and they flawlessly executed our milk and cookies dessert with a milk fountain. A MILK FOUNTAIN, I mean, how cool is that?! Everyone loved it, including our band, and it perfectly fit our wintery festive theme! -

Amazing food and service! My guests had nothing but compliments on the food to the point where some went back for 3rd helpings!! Only complaint I have is that normally the bride and groom have a server that walks with them to get the food and this was the first time I had never seen one provided. Other then that I also highly recommend requesting Jeff as your bartender. He was out of this world in terms of his service. -

The best banquet food ever
I can’t stress how delicious Crank’s food is. We got more compliments on how good the food at our wedding was than we got congratulations on our marriage. Every item was perfectly crafted. We strongly recommend the Ultimate Night Buffet Package, as you will receive appetizers, dessert station, and a fantastic late night snack. Your guests will be thrilled.
Communication with the Crank’s team was always great, and when things needed to be addressed or changed they were always responsive. The only slight negative I could possibly say was the serving and bussing staff were not particularly enthusiastic, and started to tear down the linens that we rented from there much earlier than expected (and almost swiped up a few personal belongings within the linens on accident.)
Again, I strongly recommend Crank’s. It is some of the best food you’ll ever have, full stop. (Just make sure you communicate your timing of the event clearly. 😉 )

There is nothing more disappointing at a wedding than boring food; same old chicken picatta, roast beef, mostaccioli. Yuck. Growing up, my family practically lived at the park or beach having picnics...we even had the annual Watermelon Picnic at a park across from my aunt's house, and I knew when I got married I wanted to pay homage to this. So, when looking for caterers, once I landed on Crank's website, I knew it was just perfect. BBQ Ribs and Chicken, corn on the cob, baked beans, so many different salads! Not your typical wedding fare, but that's what I loved about it. I wanted my wedding to stand out as not fancy and stiff, or boring and typical, but as a summer bbq, a real party. (And ribs are my very fav food!). The catering coordinator was very flexible in designing my menu, and I don't think its easy to find a wedding meal for less than $20 a person. The food was delicious, and it was really cool to have the big grills set up outside, so our guests could see the food being prepared, and the smell of bbq had everyone drooling.
As I said in a previous review of our dj, my family still talks about how much fun our wedding was, 2 1/2 years later. -

Don't be turned away by the name like I was. This place is beautiful. It's an odd location - end of a strip mall. But it's definitely worth it. The price is great! Only had a few problems. They were kinda slow to respond, we paid for premium liquor but had house liquor half the time, and a couple tables weren't set up correctly. But they were quick to respond. We got half the liquor money back and the tables were fixed right away, They day of, there's someone there constantly asking if you need anything and he was always there to help. That was really nice. I definitely recommend them. -

The food here is wonderful. My guest could not stop raving about how good it was. My wedding reception was perfect and I would not change anything. However, Crank's do not require any detailed planning info until 10 days before your event, which made me a little nervous, but dont fret future bride's they are wonderful :-) -

They were awesome. They got there in plenty of time to set up. They were very professional. The food was a little cold. They supplied all table linens at my reception site, including tableclothes, table skirting, napkins, chair covers and sashes. It looked beautiful! -

Food was amazing. It was a little difficult trying to figure out what was included in our cost. Overall, good service and good food. -

I was personally disappointed when we were working with the office staff before the actual day. They were difficult to get in touch with and could not always answer our questions. We did not have our taste test until about two months before our wedding and it was horrible. We had no choice of caterer due to our venue selection.
However, the staff on the day of our wedding was AMAZING. They literally could not have been better. They took care of everything and went above and beyond what we expected. The food was PERFECT the day of the wedding. People still tell us it was the best food that they have ever had at a wedding.
Despite the fact that the office staff was difficult to deal with, I would still recommend Cranks's because their day of service is better than I could have imagined. -

We had the reception at Stony Creek Metropark. The location is beautiful and everyone complemented the food. The one thing that we were very disappointed about were the bathrooms. We had been to a wedding at this location a couple of years ago and the bathrooms were in a nice trailer with regular toilets and sinks. For some reason they now have porta-johns on the premises. This was very much a surprise to me and my husband. We knew they had made changes, but we thought the changes were suppose to be for the better. This is one area that they need to do a better job at. -

I had my wedding at "Cranks by the Lake" and apparently not many of the office workers have ever been out there or know much about it, therefore were not very helpful with questions. Once I talked with my site coordinator it was much better. The food was fantasic! Everyone raved about how good the food was and not just for a wedding! It was right next to Lake Stoney so it was beautiful scenery. I didn't stress about much when I finally got there, but planning it was a little stressful. -

Pros: The food here is spectacular, my guests were raving about it for days afterwards! - I love that you get the entire hall to yourself when you book both rooms. - Also the reception room was beautifully set up for our wedding! & the manager Gwen was more then attentive to my husband and my needs the entire night. Cons: Whenever someone tells you something here, make sure you get it updated in writing on your contract. I was told we would be able to have the chairs moved from the ceremony into the reception to save on costs of chair covers, which was completely untrue, and when I brought it to their attention they said that would be horribly difficult to do, we would never allow that. - I agree it would be a difficult task which is why I had her REPEAT IT TWICE to me. Needless to say our ceremony wasn’t as beautiful as I would have hoped for…. If I would have known in advance I would have at least had the chance to pay for the chair covers. - Communication here is horrible, it seems like nobody communicates with each other. - I was told numerous times that we could come in the day before and set up and when we got there, NONE of the tables were ready for us to decorate. - Nothing was complete. - Yes, in the end it looked beautiful but it put a lot of stress on myself and my husband. All in all I would give the place about 3.2 stars, it needs some updating, (peeling carpeting, scuffed up dance floor, etc.) and the staff needs to learn a little bit better communication, but I did have a great time at my wedding. -

Cranks refuses to refund deposit for Shower cancelled due to Covid
Cranks will not refund my $600 deposit for a wedding shower that was cancelled because of Michigan shutdown during Covid during spring 2020. We are on limited retirement income and they don't care. -
