Seamless!

If we could, we would give Emily 10 stars. She was energetic, trustworthy, reliable. She directed our group in a way that was efficient and allowed for all the pictures we wanted done timely so we could enjoy our day. She was 100% there for us as the bride and groom, and didn't hesitate to do anything she could to make the day exactly what we wanted. I would work with Emily 100 times over. We left wanting to be best friends with Emily. Cannot recommend enough. You'll be in good hands with this one!

Amazing and so talented!

We LOVED working with Emily! She is so talented! And just awesome to work with. We are both kind of camera shy and she made it feel so easy to be in front of the camera. She worked awesome with our timeframe and our families/bridal party.

Simple the best!

I found Emily after being referred from another photographer. I was a bride who had no idea what I was doing. Emily walked me through the process and timeline. She gave me honest feedback on making sure I had enough time for family photos. I am so grateful I took her advice as those photos will be cherished for a lifetime. She made me feel confident in my choices and made the process stress free. My husband and I wanted more candied moments and boy did Emily deliver! She captured the moments in between the poses, and it was absolutely us! Emily worked well with all of our family and friends, and fit right in. I may have found Emily by chance, but I will choose her again to capture more of our life moments as they happen.

So amazing! Worth every freaking penny.

I think that we found Emily on here while we were searching for a photographer for our wedding. Emily photographed our engagement session, wedding, and a holiday mini session. Every session was so much fun and laid, and she really made my wife feel comfortable. It was never awkward and we never felt posed. She is very engaging and relaxed, which made it feel like we were all just hanging out. I have recommended Emily to many people and would gladly go to her for any photography needs in the future!

Emily made our day absolutely perfect & to this day we’re able to feel all the emotions from the best day!!!

Emily was the best decision we could have made for our wedding!!! She captured every emotion possible from putting on my dress to our first looks to our sunset pictures. To do this day, I still get compliments about our gorgeous photos & because of Emily we’re able to relive the best day of our lives!!!

Emily is accommodating, organized, selfless & willing to do anything to make your day special. Another HUGE plus, she kept our day on schedule & made sure to coordinate with all of our vendors!!!

Emily did an awesome job with our engagement and wedding photos. She was flexible and adapted to a few last minute issues that we had for the day of. We really appreciated how she found a way to make everything work for us. Also, if you want a photographer who is great at organizing and keeping a huge wedding party and family on schedule, she's your gal! We had very little time to do pics before the ceremony, and that along with a large and rowdy group could have been disastrous for someone who didn't feel confident in what they were doing. Thanks Emily!

Emily is soooo talented!

Emily is a DREAM!!! She is organized, well prepared and stunning in person. She got my 12 year old nephew to actually smile for a photo. Emily's vibe is spectacular both in prep and execution. Emily was a dream to work with!
We were going to go with a different photographer, but when I met Emily, I know that I had to go with her.
She is helpful from the very start with ideas for engagement photos to helping with talking about good places to go for flowers and DJs. Emily went above and beyond for her craft. She captured the personalities of my husband and I in every photo. All the guests and bridal party have nothing but kind words to say about my photographer.
If you want someone who will go above and beyond for your wedding, Emily Theisen Photography is the place to go!

Amazing Wedding Photographer!

Emily Theisen was our photographer for our September wedding. The search for your perfect photographer can be such a daunting task, but I am so incredibly happy I came across Emily Theisen Photography! She was very easy and fun to talk and work with. She was very professional and clearly takes pride in her skills and what she is able to capture as a photographer. Her photos are beautiful and of high quality. She is also very willing to help with bouncing ideas around for your wedding (she has been to plenty to know what is a good idea and what is a not so good idea). I highly recommend Emily to be your wedding photographer (or any other event really)

Where do we even begin... Emily did a fantastic job for both our engagement photos as well as on our on our wedding day! My wife and I cannot thank her enough for capturing our wedding day and all who were there. She did an amazing job and we would absolutely recommend her to anyone who is in need of someone who is not only professional, but truly enjoys her job and has fun doing it! Emily is AMAZING! She is extremely organized and prompt! She made our wedding enjoyable with her fun and upbeat personality! She makes you feel comfortable and has creative ways to capture genuine moments! We had a large wedding party and huge wedding and she was able to coordinate everyone in a respectful way! She hands down is the best photographer and I’m excited to have her take our family photos going forward!

Emily was the best! She was so flexible and accommodating, and made me feel at at ease during planning and on the wedding day- a must have for a busy bride!
She traveled an hour to our engagement session so we could take pictures at our college where we met and fell in love.
On our wedding day, she was so easy to work with. The day goes by so fast, but she captured all the details, expressions, and emotions. Our family and friends adored her. I loved that Emily kept everyone on schedule, and always checked in with me to see how I was feeling or if I needed anything.
We will definitely be recommending Emily to everyone we know for all occasions, and we can't wait to work with her again!

Emily did a wonderful job at my daughter's wedding. She was very professional, respectful, creative and fun! She was able to take photos that matched the bride and grooms personalities and interests. And, she can even work with those pesky family members who try to take charge :-)

Emily is great to work with. I have previously worked with her through my friend for my MBA graduation photos. I manage to get her one week before my courthouse wedding and she was very accommodating to my schedule. Even though we only had like a short period of time to get to work on some shots - but everything was great. She gave wonderful suggestions on how to pose. And a lot of my friends back home love the photos. Would definitely recommend working with her.

Emily Theisen is truly a find! We were truly blessed to have her as our wedding photographer.

We knew we wanted a photographer that not only took beautiful photos, but one that could handle the diverse group of personalities that would be part of our wedding. After meeting her we knew that she would be the perfect fit. Her personality is wonderful, and we knew she would not only be able to win everyone over, but also keep them in line if needed, and we were not disappointed.

Working with her was a dream. She responds very quickly to calls, emails and texts, which was very important to us.

Our friends and family all loved her, and have told us repeatedly how much they liked her. We were very lucky to have her as part of our big day.

Here is the other thing – She went above and beyond as a photographer. Her wealth of knowledge was invaluable on our wedding day. She had a lot of great tips and advice, and she literally bustled my dress for me when no one else was able to do it. That is service.

We just received our photos and they are gorgeous. We are so excited to share them with all of our friends and family.

If you are looking for a photographer who takes gorgeous photos, has very competitive pricing, will respond to your questions and requests quickly, that everyone will love working with on your wedding day, and who goes above and beyond Emily is the photographer for you.

Emily is a great photographer. The pictures for our fall session were beautiful!! First time we did a family photo session,...but plan to make this an annual event. I also love her "mini-session" concept. Half hour is more than enough with 2 little ones :-)

Emily was very professional and knew the type of photos I was looking for to use in my job search and on linked in. She gave valuable advice on what to wear, make up tips and how to bring out a genuine smile. She was recommended to me by a friend that had portraits done several years ago. His (more pensive, in sepia and very artful) were a very different type than mine (head shots of a professional, approachable sales person) and she demonstrated great skill in both varieties. I plan to pass her name to people in my circles as I take joy in sharing what and who I find to be the best.

Emily is fantastic to work with! She is very professional and responsive and the quality of her photos are outstanding. In addition she is wonderful with family members of all ages (from 8 to 93 in our family). I highly recommend hiring her as the photographer for your event - you won't be disappointed! We love our photos!

We hired Emily to photograph our wedding in May 2015. Emily was wonderful. We are so lucky to have found her. She was reliable and easy to get a hold of. She asked lots of questions about what we wanted and was easy to communicate with. She got wonderful impromptu shots as well as staged photos with family members. (I still can't believe she managed to wrangle my extended family of thirty into a photo where everyone looked good!) She was also great with the details- making sure ties were straight and nobody was holding beers in the staged photos. She got all the special photos we asked for, including mouthwatering photos of the food, and she had some great creative ideas of her own that really captured the feel of the space. She also was upfront about prices and worked with us to find a package that would fit in our budget. In short, a total pro. A pleasure to work with, and we couldn't be happier with our our photos.

I was so excited to look through my brother's wedding photos. They all turned out great! I loved all the candid shots and my 3 year old was just as excited to look through them all as was I. You were very professional, yet down to earth and fun!

Emily did our engagement pics on very short notice so that we could have them in time for the central MN brides magazine. She was very helpful, with an infectious bubbly demeanor =) we probably can't afford in our budget to have her do our wedding unfortunately...although I wish our photography budget was as gargantuan as Keith and I's love for each other! Emily was still going into our engagement photo session as if she was catering to royalty, and she definitely made us feel high class and did a great job! If I could do my budget over for my wedding, I would save more spending room on the photography portion for sure! And Emily deserves every penny and then some!!! Her work is worth it's weight in gold, thanks for helping us out Emily! I look forward to seeing her in the future for family portraits, hunting portraits, and recommending her to anyone looking for a memorable experience like never before...

Emily Theisen should be the first person you turn to capture the most authentic images of you and your loved ones. Her attention to detail is unbelieveable. She made us feel so at ease that it enhanced the entire experience of our wedding day. The results were PHENOMENAL. We plan on using Emily for family photos in the future not only because of her unique point of view, but because she has always felt like part of the family since our first meeting.

I would tell anyone to go to Emily for a photographer. She was very nice, polite, professional, and affordable. She made our wedding pictures fun and beautiful. She was also amazing and very patient with my grandmother that has Alzheimer's. I loved the pictures she took and will go back to her for family pictures in the future. You could not go wrong with her as your photographer!

Emily did an amaaazing job at our wedding!!! We had such a difficult group, but Emily made it work. We've obviously never been married before and didn't really know what to expect/what to really do... Emily made sure all of our basis were covered. Words can't describe how wonderful Emily was -- not just on our wedding day, but also for our engagement session!!! All of our guests loved her!!!

We couldn't wait to see the photos. They turned out amazing!!! We'll be definitely using Emily for future sessions and will be recommending Emily to family and friends, and now to you!!!

Emily was very flexable and had great ideas. She did both our wedding and engagment photos and provided the look we were going for at a great value, I would recommend her to anyone and I cannot wait to set up future sessions with her!

Emily was our photographer for our wedding in June 2016. She was so great to work with leading up to our day. Our engagement session was included in our package and through our time with her we were impressed by how she incorporated our style and likes along with her ability to capture shots we didn't expect. We met with Emily again a few weeks before our wedding to walk through the day and schedule. This helped keep us organized the day of and I could relax knowing she was aligned with our vision for the day. Emily was perfect to work with on our wedding day and did a fantastic job of capturing the candid-style shots we were looking for while keeping our wedding party energized to get the best photos. To top it all off, she hosted a viewing/reveal party at her studio where we invited our family and friends to see our photos for the first time - so fun! I'm now in love with our pictures - they are more beautiful than I could have imagined and they captured our day perfectly. Thanks Emily for a wonderful experience!

It was amazing to work with Emily from engagement photos through our wedding Day. She captured so many beautiful moments and we are so thankful to be able to look back at them forever. Emily was so helpful with any questions we had throughout the process and flexible to our needs on the big day. Stunning photos and an amazing experience!

Emily is FANTASTIC and her work is even better! The first time we met her we chatted for hours like we were old friends. She asked us questions about ourselves and about each other, and clearly wanted to get to know us as a couple so she could capture our love through her pictures. We started with engagement photos which we wanted done at the spot we got engaged. Emily had never been to this location before, but assured us that she would do her research and the pictures would be amazing — and they were! She makes her sessions feel so relaxed and knows how to get you to connect as a couple so your love shows in the photos. Emily was amazing on our wedding day and did everything she could to ease my stress level and remind me to smile and enjoy every moment. After our ceremony we wanted to stop at our favorite town bar and get photos of us and our wedding party. We got married on December 1st, 2018, which turned out to be the first snow storm of the year. Instead of skipping the pictures at the bar and beating the snow to our reception hall, Emily stayed with us and took the most amazing pictures of us celebrating with our friends! She made sure to get photos of many different guests as well as every part of our reception hall. She captured each touching moment during the toasts, and each smile on our faces. She brought props with her and used them as a filter around her camera to give the photos a very unique and beautiful glow. Emily truly does offer the complete package and she is an overall amazing person. We could not have imagined our wedding day without her and are so thankful for the moments she captured. We are able to relive our wonderful day each time we look through our album. THANK YOU, Emily ♥️

My husband, Mike, and I are extremely happy with our wedding photos! Hiring Emily to capture our special day was one of the smartest decisions we made in regard to our wedding. We chose Emily for our photography because of her amazing portfolio - we particularly liked the amounts of candid shots she was able to get, and how beautiful the colors were in her shots. She did an amazing job on our wedding - some cute candid moments, some really awesomely set-up shots, really fun group shots. To us, she was worth every penny. We also got a second shooter - also, totally worth it.

Emily was listed as one of the "Preferred Vendors" for our reception venue. After working with her for our Engagement and Wedding Photos, we can see why! She was very easy to work with and the end results were just what we wanted! She made sure she knew exactly what the plan was for our wedding day before she arrived and helped us (and the wedding party) stay on track the whole day! She delivered the pictures in a timely manner, and there were so many to chose from! We are very glad we worked with Emily and would recommend her to others looking for a great photographer, with reasonable prices as well!

Engagement & Wedding Photography Experience

Emily is a passionate, experienced, and affordable photographer. Her upbeat, vivacious personality, along with a recommendation of a friend is what led to checking out her services! She was willing to work with us during the pandemic, kept us hyped up, and was down for the challenge of juggling complex family photos on our day!

Initially, my conversations and collaboration with Emily were outstanding. However, there were a few bumps throughout our 9 month process in hiring her as our engagement and wedding photographer. Overall, we really loved our engagement photos and did like many of our wedding photos.

Communication: Emily is great over the phone, she is willing to text back just about any time of day. However, reading and responding to emails were frequently inconsistent, ignored, or lost. Needing to follow up 2-3 times with reminders/updates was not uncommon. In light of all things covid, I know vendors are slammed, but it was very frustrating when this was needed to hear back on previews, engagement photos, wedding photos, as well as photo edits. Ultimately, our wedding photos were delivered AFTER our contractual promise.

Logistics: Our pre wedding call was rushed and she was very distracted, missing some of requests for the day. Additionally, our full list of photos we gave to our wedding coordinator/MOH were not completely followed. This was slightly off putting to some guests and other vendors.

Second shooter: We felt this was a very important thing to add into our package, especially encouraged by Emily. However, the person that was contracted/hired was not professional, didn't seem invested in the task, and I am not sure she necessarily rendered many high quality, final photos. Out of Emily's control, but this was disappointing.

Style: Her editing style is extremely unique and what I would deem as "moody/filter-y." Just keep this in mind as it can accentuate blemishes, wrinkles, and not always bring out the best BEFORE edits. Emily is very responsive and willing to clean photos up, when requested, in a timely manner.

Emily is VERY busy and does not exclusively shoot weddings. I think she'd have 4-5 stars from us with a few changes, particularly if she had an intern or assistant to communicate out with clients so that she can exclusively focus on her art and craft of photography.

Overall friendly and works well with all guests no matter what their personality. Felt lost on how to stand during photos which showed up in the photos as we all looked awkward. If you like someone who takes lots of candids she's good for you. Spends a lot of time of editing photos, but the lighting was still off in a lot of them with dark face or washed out backgrounds. She also took photos from odd angles or very far away so we were miniature in the photo. Didnt end up with a single photo of me and my husband we liked but we had tons from friends we loved.. Felt like we got only candids which our friends could have taken for us. She would try to be helpful but would over promise, for example she said photos would take 2-3 weeks and they took 6. Waiting 6 weeks was not a problem but we were upset since she was so insistent they would take No longer than 3. If she has said they'd take 8 and we got them in 6 we would have been fine.
