I cannot say enough good things about Emily. Our photos were truly breathtaking - just beyond stunning. She has been so easy to work with and flexible. She totally understood everything we were looking for in our photos. We've recommended her to all our friends! Worth every penny!!!I cannot say enough good things about Emily. Emily is an amazing choice for your big day. We used her for engagement photos, rehearsal dinner, and wedding day. She was easy to work with and was great at communication. She really captured to spirit of our wedding day. It shines through the photos. I had my heart set on candid photos (the shot before the shot). Emily provided a great balance of posed couple photos with fun candid shots. Cannot recommend Emily enough, she was our favorite vendor!Emily is an amazing choice for your big day. Emily is so incredibly talented and we were lucky enough to work with her for our wedding in Santa Barbara and also our engagement photos. We absolutely love how our pictures turned out and she did such an amazing job capturing the magic. She is also such a warm and wonderful person and we loved having her with us on our big day. Her second photographer was also so lovey and talented. Emily shot our Tulum, Mexico wedding and we are so happy with our photos. They were beautiful and we felt so comfortable taking photos with her (even though I am not the most comfortable person in front of a camera). When it came to planning our wedding, my husband and I agreed that photography was one of our non-negotiables. We wanted to come away from that day with photos that captured all the emotions and memories we so cherished. I am so glad we chose Emily Blake as our photographer.
I constantly have people exclaim about our wedding pictures: “These are so beautiful! WHO was your photographer?!” Emily has this amazing ability to capture emotion in the moment and produces photos of undeniable quality. Not only that, but she was accommodating to our budget, so professional and friendly, and made it so easy to be ourselves in front of her.
I was definitely a Type-A kind of bride and it was such a relief to be able to trust Emily with our photos. I gave her a list of a few specific shots I’d like and she delivered on all of them. I asked her work within an almost unrealistic time frame to take all the family/bridal party shots and she handled it professionally and efficiently (NOT that I recommend doing that to your photographer…but just saying she handled it well). I was pleased with the time frame in which I received our final pictures. They were beautifully edited and there were more than I knew what to do with!
All that to say, my husband and I are so pleased with our pictures and the overall experience of having Emily Blake as our photographer. I highly recommend choosing her as your photographer. You won’t regret it!

Like many of us Brides, I was (still am?!) a frequent Pinterest PINner. From the time I knew the propsal was approaching, I was loading up my wedding board with ideas and beautiful images galore
When a friend in NY recommended Emily Blake as a wedding photographer, You can imagine my complete joy at the realization that SO many of my pins had been Emily's work (unbeknownst to me!)
My fiancé and I were ecstatic to find that Emily was available and was even willing to travel up to Nothern California for our March wedding. Unfortunately, family issues arose and we had to postpone our wedding (with super short notice) When we contacted Emily, she wasn't angry that we didn't give her notice, but instead was genuinely concerned about my Nana (much more than I can say for many of my other vendors) and rescheduled for April.
This genuine and personal service continued, from the very first email to the reception (when I asked Emily last-minute for specific shots of out of the country friends who surprised us last minute)
I can't speak enough to Emily's talent and overall incredible demeanor. My fiancé and I were tired of standard wedding photos, so we chose emily because of her creative eye and beautiful portfolio. We loved our engagement photos and when our wedding photos arrived, we couldn't believe the artistry and individuality of each photo- no cookie cutter shots here!
We are more than happy- and can't recommend Emily enough! Emily photographed our intimate backyard wedding in Monterey this summer and I am so happy and pleased with the photos!! She was professional, kind, and a wonderful person to be around. The photos were so beautiful and my husband Dave and I are so thankful that she was there to capture our wedding day!! She captured so many precious moments and we really treasure the photographs. I found Emily through a wedding blog, I was attracted to her style of photography. She was warm and personable and made my fiance and I comfortable during our engagement photo shoot in Malibu, Ca. We worked up a contract that included engagement photos, and her shooting our entire wedding weekend with a 2nd shooter Angie Welsch. Our engagement photos were beautiful and we can't wait to see our wedding photos. She drove from LA to Boulder Creek, Ca to spend the weekend with us. I really enjoyed working with Emily. The photos were amazing and delivered to us in a timely manner. I also like that her website allows you to purchase high-quality prints on the spot. My only wish is that we had some more detail shots, but that is minimal compared to the quality and beautiful photos we received of our big day. As one bride to another, I cannot stress enough that this review is to make you aware of what you are getting with choosing Emily Blake as your photographer. Photos were really important to me and so I stretched the budget so that I could ‘guarantee’ that I would get nice photos…
She did both the engagement and wedding photos. The engagement photos were fine. The wedding photos on the other hand were a huge disappointment.
After we took the engagement photos, I sat down with Emily in person and went over everything that I did and didn't want and/or like. I trusted her when she said she understood and would do what I was asking. I gave specific examples and she said I'd get the standard shots - a lot of which I felt weren't included and I did specify.
The worst part is really that I did everything I could to try to work with her to come to an agreement…
1. I asked to meet with her after the wedding, because I was unhappy with what she sent – I was very kind (emails to prove it!) and I was accommodating to HER schedule. Which she had refused and ignored.
2. I asked her to provide me with additional photos. I got eight. Apparently, she had already given her best.. her words not mine.
3. I mentioned light exposure and asked for some without or to fix them, she did nothing. (which I'm told by other photographers, can be done pretty easily).
4. Finally, when I realized she wouldn’t work with me, I asked for a 50% refund for the misrepresentation of her portfolio verses what she gave me. She makes you pay before you get the photos… She refused because – she was happy with the photos. It didn’t matter how I felt or what I had laid out that I wanted prior to the wedding that she did not do. She’s totally nice when you meet her and you think that she won’t screw you over… but she will and she did.
I hope that you will consider these things - you can get better for your money.
