Elysian catering did an incredible job with our wedding. The food was, of course, delicious and beautifully presented but beyond that, they were so easy to work with. Jen was responsive to all our questions and helped us figure out things that worked for our budget. Her whole team is so experienced, I did not have to worry one bit during our wedding or welcome party (Elysian catered both) - everything ran so smoothly and our guests raved about the food AND the drinks. The quality of their bartenders cannot be over stated - highly highly recommend!Elysian Events Catering's reply:

Elysian Events provided the food for the cocktail hour and dinner at our wedding. They were extremely easy to work with. After our first venue closed and canceled on us, Elysian simply ported over the contract to the new venue (even offering us the option to cancel altogether if we weren’t able to secure a new venue, despite having already executed a contract for their services). Their prices were super reasonable and service inclusive. All of the food was delicious and we received so many compliments from our guests about it, and they accommodated guests with dietary restrictions by modifying menu items. The oyster bar during cocktail hour was a huge hit! Super professional and easy to recommend for any wedding or other event!Elysian Events Catering's reply:

We got married in May and our guests are STILL raving about the food (I’m writing this at the end of September)! Elysian Catering was very pleasant to work with, and incredibly attentive to all our dietary needs, helping us make sure there was something everyone could eat for our passed h’ors d’ouvres and buffet. They were even willing to make adjustments to their menu for our preferences and needs, like swapping dressings, or putting elements on the side instead of mixed in. Perfect Catering!
Elysian Catering was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! We consider ourselves foodies and our menu was a large focus for the wedding. We've eaten at some truly great restaurants but Elysian is up there with the best for flavor and presentation. Their ability to turn out food with so much detail and flavor for a wedding of 80+ was incredible.
From our very first conversation with Amelia we felt completely at ease. Her communication was warm, clear, and attentive—she truly listened to our vision and made the entire process feel effortless.
The tasting was an experience in itself—we were blown away by the creativity and flavor in each dish. Amelia worked closely with us to create a special off-menu appetizer that was meaningful to us, and seeing it come to life on the big day was unforgettable.
On the wedding day, everything ran so smoothly. The flow of service was seamless, the staff was incredibly professional and kind, and the food… wow. Guests are still talking about it months later! Every dish was bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and left a lasting impression.
Elysian didn’t just cater our wedding—they elevated the entire experience. We’re so grateful to Amelia, Jen, Chef Brandon and the whole team for going above and beyond to make our day so special. If you want food that people will remember forever, this is the team.Elysian Events Catering's reply:

From the first time we met, Carrie Ann and the team at Elysian Events and Catering has been helpful, professional and accommodating. They have wonderful food and beverage package options. The food and beverage service delighted our bride and groom and all of our guests. We were having a destination wedding and were able to give everyone a real taste of New Orleans. In addition, the team made my daughter's vision for the beignet dessert bar come to life beautifully! We love Elysian! We got married in March 2023 (but are extremely slow at writing reviews) at the venue at New Orleans Athletic Club (NOAC) with a wedding for ~150 people (call it medium fanciness for comparative purposes - cocktail attire-type). Working with Jenn, Brandon, Amelia, and the whole team was perfect.
We loved all the menu options and getting a chance to sample a few of them was a great experience. Everything we sampled was great, but we wound up completely pivoting to some options we didn't try at the tasting because we thought it would work better for our guests. Loved it - I think anything we picked would have been great, but the items we picked were just right - I can't remember which package we selected specifically, but the hors d’oeuvres were excellent (crawfish pies and alligator sausage were very memorable) and the poboy station was perfect for our event (especially the cochon de lait). We considered doing plated service, but wound up doing buffet style. I think they can accommodate any setup that you would be looking for (family style, etc.)
We also ordered the raw bar package and thought it was amazing. We didn't do a lot of add ons (just oysters and all the fixings for those) and it was a HUGE hit for our guests - many of which were coming from outside of New Orleans and had never had big gulf oysters like that before. That said, I have had the pleasure of trying some of the other options like oysters from elsewhere in the country, crab claws, char broiled oysters, etc. from when Jenn and Brandon used to do a booth at Elysian Seafood at the St. Roch market and those options are also fire. You can't go wrong!
Amelia does the desserts and they are AWESOME. We wound up doing a bunch of little pies and mini-cakes (like cheesecake, not traditional cake) and those were also a hit. Every one of the desserts was great. My favorites were the cheesecake, key lime pie, and bourbon pecan pie, but you can't go wrong.
The service was absolutely perfect. We were obviously busy on the day, but they were great about doing everything we needed exactly at the right time, with very little need for direction from us or, I believe, the wedding planner. The planning process was easy, seamless, and the only hard part was deciding between great options. They are a great option if you want someone who's been there before at almost any venue around New Orleans, worked with almost every other vendor, dealt with almost every configuration, and is a steady hand for this kind of thing. Also, the staff was friendly and so kind to all of our guests (including the drunk annoying ones that you're allowed to be mean to).
As far as pricing, they are absolutely fair (if not a steal). I think we got away with spending a little bit less than some of the catering groups in the comparable reputational tier. I would put them a tier above - they actually did a few of my friends' weddings in recent years and, to a couple, we've all had such a great experience and thought it was more than worth the price.
Hope you pick them! We will absolutely hire them for our next event and really look forward to seeing them at future weddings in and around NOLA! -

Great experience with Elysian Events Catering! They were the all stars of the event! From charbroiled oysters to delicious beignets - they brought delicious items to the guests with a friendly vibe.
Huge shout out to Jen - she was so easy to work with and followed the timeline/details to a T. As a wedding planner of 10+ years, I highly recommend working with this team! You will not be sorry!Elysian Events Catering's reply:

This past weekend, my wife and I had our destination wedding in New Orleans, and we had to travel over 14 hours to get there.
The entire experience with the catering company we hired was an absolute nightmare. When we told them a month in advance of when we had to come get the wedding dress to schedule a tasting and they was told they only do tasting on Monday Tuesday and Wednesdays and refused to even work with us on tasting anything!!.
They made us rent a oven and tables for them, which was even more baffling this is a catering company build your business to meet every venue.
We had our ceremony and came straight into the dining hall the food was out for our guests we stepped outside for photos and came inside and at 830pm all the food was gone!!
the wedding was scheduled untill 10pm!! Our wedding party had to run outside and demand our food back, even had to beg for the utensils that they picked up. We were highly upset with our experience with this company and very surprised to see a 5 star rating
To make things better after this review was put on Google they called my wifes sister complaining about our review, dont complain to her you earned your review!
