    I had a very pleasant experience with elegant events florist.

    Sheila, handle a very difficult time in my family lives with professionalism and poise. My family and I didn't have to worry about what type of flowers
    arraignment for my father funeral. We talk to sheila and she knew exactly was needed. My family was very please with her services.

    gorgeous flowers and bouquets!

    I had a great experience, and it was extremely professional and thought-out to fit the type of florals I wanted for my wedding. Sheila was the best to work with, and made the wedding day look amazing!

    Beautiful Flowers

    My husband and I hired Elegant Events as the florists for our May 2019 wedding and we were so pleased with the service we received. The flowers were gorgeous and fresh and matched what I had in mind. Sheila was great to work with. She really listened to me and what I wanted. She also had really great suggestions and ideas. Sheila and her team were very professional and punctual. They had the ceremony set up on time. Then, they quickly reset the ballroom and the arrangements for the reception. Elegant Events was such a big part of our wedding day and we're so grateful of their service.

    Sheila was terrific to work with. I went into it not knowing much about what I wanted but she helped steer me into some beautiful flowers for my bridal party and parents. She was super responsive even on the day of the wedding, when she had to make a second trip out to me. The flowers were so beautiful and I can't stop loving on the colors! Pictures may not do it justice but the bottom corner photo best shows how beautiful the colors were even after a few days! Thanks so much again.

    This was the same company I used for my wedding planner and it was great. There was a small issue a few days before the wedding and they completely fixed it and went above and beyond to make the bride happy!! Would recommend.

    We used Elegant Events for our wedding flowers and to order invitations. The flowers were absolutely beautiful and fresh. Every step of ordering through Elegant Events was professional and we received excellent care. Sheila as very accommodating and knowledgeable and able to carry out my vision for our day. Every suggestions offered was wrapped in a piece of my vision that I initially shared with her. I would strongly recommend Elegant Events to anyone planning a wedding or event.

    If you are looking for a planner that knows their stuff Elegant Events is the place your looking for. The flower expert Sheila is amazing. She put beautiful bouquets together for my wedding party. My bouquet was so much better than I envisioned.

    Reasonably Priced and Thoughtful Florist

    Sheila at Elegant Events Florist was a pleasure to work with. She really took the time to understand our vision. We had numerous phone conversations and in person meetings this way she could make sure she knew exactly what we were hoping for. She was also extremely flexible and willing to make some tweaks when I found a new inspo picture and wanted to change the tables and flowers for some of our center pieces. She was more than willingly to work with our budget and gave us a great price! Thank you Sheila!

    Horrible, Low integrity

    I came upon Elegant Events Florist/Sheila and saw okay reviews, so I figured this was an okay business to work with… BOY WAS I WRONG! My first encounter with Elegant Events Florist/ Sheila initially seemed pleasant but something was off! She sort of spoke in circles and had a suspicion about her. She boasted about the huge weddings she does and how booked she would be in the upcoming year. It lacked humility, but I didn’t think too much of it. On our first call she informed me that she only requires a $500 non-refundable deposit to secure the date and that I could pay the rest of the total at my leisure up to 30days out from the wedding date. However, on our first zoom meeting, two weeks after the deposit was given, she informed me that a $2000 first payment would be due (RED FLAG). This obviously confused me because just a few weeks before she said that the $500 deposit would suffice. Honestly, I should have walked away right there!! My instincts told me that this was not correct. I even had a conversation with my fiancé about it but at the time we didn’t want to lose our $500 non-refundable deposit. Next, we had an in-person meeting with Shelia and after some discussion I began to realize that she wasn’t truly involved with all the floral design. When I asked about specific designs, she would tell me that she needed to inquire with someone else to get a quote (RED FLAG). From what I gathered she operates like a middleman. A little less than one year before my wedding I ran into some challenges and needed to cancel my services with Elegant Events Florist/Sheila. I reached out to Elegant Events Florist/Sheila explaining my situation and I politely asked for a refund on my first payment of $2000. I felt comfortable asking for this refund because the wedding date was so far in advance that it would allow Elegant Events Florist/Sheila ample time to replace me with another client for the highly desirable spring wedding season. Also, the design was not yet finalized so in all actuality nothing yet was done on my behalf. Even with this knowledge Shelia denied a full refund and would only give a 50% refund if I gave proof of cancellation such as written notification from my wedding venue(s). This SHOCKED me because she confirmed that no floral and/or staff had been purchased and/or scheduled for my wedding nearly one year out. Of course, I looked back at the contract and here is where I saw the biggest RED FLAG ever. She has no obligation/policy to return any monies paid no matter the timing or possibility of replacing the client. Even though, the $500 deposit is the only payment that explicitly says non-refundable. It is up to Sheila’s sole discretion to give a refund despite any timing or circumstance (RED FLAG). This type of cancellation policy leaves room for inequality and extreme biases. I never want to hurt or harm a Black Women Owned Business but this business is not run with honor. Some may say contract this ... contract that but overall, Elegant Events Florist/Sheila did not complete any services and still retained my $2000, that is fact. I am writing this review as a lesson to myself to thoroughly question every contract line and follow my god given instincts by walking away when things just don’t feel right. I am also writing this review to YOU. Elegant Events Florist/Sheila doesn’t operate on integrity or basic kindness. Overall Elegant Events Florist/Sheila kept my money without doing anything to earn it. Its shameful. I would assume that most people, especially during a sentimental time like wedding planning would want to work with a business rooted in decency and righteousness. Also, if you’re still not convinced look at other reviews on all other platforms. I am not the first to call the integrity of Elegant Events Florist into question. Thank you

    Our process is as follows:
    1. In response to an inquiry a document outlining our process in detail with payment policies is sent to potential client along with a questionnaire
    2. Upon completion of the questionnaire by the client receipt of the questionnaire by our team a complimentary consultation is conducted
    3. At the conclusion of the consultation it is explained that if the client desires to work with us a $500 retainer is required along with a signed contract. Once this is done an inperson design session is conducted. At the conclusion of the inperson design session a detailed invoice is produced and 1/3 of the total is required. The $500 retainer is applied to this first payment.
    4. Final payment is due 30 days prior to the wedding once the client has submitted their final wedding party and table count and the final invoice is updated accordingly.

    To ensure the client is fully aware of the terms All of this is outlined in the document sent prior to the free consultation and discussed with the client during the free consultation prior to the signing of the contract and prior to the submission of the retainer.


    The cancellation clause in the contract which you received prior to deciding to work with us states there is no refund. As a courtesy I offered a 50% refund because the wedding was more than 9 months away and there was a good chance that I could rebook the date. I also stated if I rebooked the date I would refund the remaining 50%. I requested that you provide written notification from the venue of the cancellation to process the refund. You refuse to provide this documentation therefore no refund has been issued

    Disappointing and Unsatisfactory in Every Way

    The biggest mistake of my wedding planning experience was hiring Sheila Corbett and trusting her with the floral vision of our wedding. Despite many conversations and sharing our feedback with her multiple times, many elements that we said we did not like or wanted to see changed ended up in the floral arrangements on our wedding day. I was so disappointed when I saw all of the arrangements her team created, except my bouquet and the bridesmaids bouquets. She contracted with Nisha from LAX States to create the Mandap for our Indian wedding and we were incredibly disappointed with the final product. The Mandap swayed dangerously during the ceremony and the furniture that we rented through them sunk during the ceremony. We never had the opportunity to speak with the Mandap designer directly, and Sheila never shared her information with us. Sheila did not take our feedback throughout the planning process into account, did not clearly communicate with us throughout the experience working with her and did not share critical limitations of our design and budget until AFTER our wedding when we did a review that took nearly a month after our wedding day to schedule. In that review, it was clear that she didn't listen or retain the feedback that we provided her throughout the design process, and was not receptive to our feedback or took sincere accountability for her mistakes. Her confidence was incredibly misleading. I've connected with recent brides of Sheila's upon sharing my experience in other forums and they have unfortunately shared similar experiences. Sheila was the most difficult vendor to work with out of my vendor team and I hope that sharing these thoughts prevents other couples from going through the same (expensive) disappointment that we did.
