User2428019 Sent on 11/16/2015Saturday I went dress shopping for the first time. I was so nervous as to what I was going to walk into. Dawnelle greeted my group and I as we walked in. I had an appointment and she knew exactly who I was and what we were doing. She asked my opinions and I gave her a list of what dresses I found on their online sample inventory. She pulled all of those and pulled some of her own, thank goodness she did, one of her choices was MY DRESS! So helpful, so nice, and really tried to make this day all about me. She gave suggestions, but really took to my opinions and was looking out for me. You could tell by the way she was talking about the dresses and pulling ones to try on that she had been in this business a long time. I had an idea in mind and was dead set on getting a particular style dress, however Dawnelle suggested we try some things and she was right. My dress is not at all what I was describing to her, but it was exactly what I had invisioned. I am so happy that I decided to go with someone local and not with a box store, that's only looking for the purchase. Dawnelle looked at the big picture and was not pressuring me to buy from her. AWESOME EXPERIENCE, AWESOME TIME. I will definitely be back to get my bridesmaid dresses.

Elegant Brides also does a wonderful job in advising any attire situation you may have come up for your big day (we had a groom woman). I would recommend Elegant Brides to anyone wanting a personal experience from a staff that truly cares. -

She spent many hours working with me to get everything exactly how I wanted and to make sure I felt comfortable in the dress before ordering it. The seamstress, Nicole, was great to work with. When I went for my final fitting I decided I didn't like the way the top of the dress was laying after the latest alterations so the owner took some stitching out and worked with me herself. She stayed an hour late doing alterations on my mom's dress one night as well. The staff is absolutely amazing and remembered us every time we came in and always had nice things to say and a hug. -

They were amazingly accommodating from special ordering a dress for me just to try on (that I eventually ordered), to forming a personal relationship with me by the time it was my wedding day. My bridesmaids ordered their dresses from Elegant Brides, and every single staff member we dealt with made sure we all looked perfect. I hope I have another formal occasion again someday so I can go back to Elegant Brides. -

Sarah Sent on 10/26/2010I live in Louisville, KY and I happened to find the perfect wedding dress while visiting family in the St. Louis area. I called all the bridal shops around my home to see if any of them carried this particular dress I wanted to order.
The attendants at Elegant Brides assured me it would be no problem to order the dress from their shop, even though I lived hundreds of miles away.
My dress came in and I set up a fitting time when I would be in town again. They normally don't do fittings on Saturdays, but said they would make an exception for me.
When we got there, I was put into my dress and the seamstress started marking alterations on my dress. I told her since I live far away and my wedding was just 6 weeks away that I was going to have to pick up my dress today and have someone closer do alterations. She was visibly irritated and told me that I could not bring the dress back if I took it today and that I would have to press it myself. She was very rude.
I apologized to the clerk that rang us up, and she assured me again that it was no problem. I guess they didn't tell the seamstress (who likely works on commission) that I would not be doing alterations there, but that was no reason to be rude to me on the day I'm trying on and picking up my wedding dress!
Other than that, the dress was beautiful and all the sales people were wonderful. Thank you, Elegant Bride! -
User900078 Sent on 08/15/2012They did a much better job with the dress than they did with the tux and men's formal wear. They had some trouble getting us the trial tux in to try on, and never got the correct size of tux for my fiance to try on, so we had to go with just basing it off of his measurements. It did show up and fit, but I would have liked it to be a little less loose, which we would have been able to tell them if they would have given us the chance to try it on.
