I highly recommend El Velo!! I was looking for a photographer to surprise my daughter with engagement pictures while they were in Costa Rica. I was concerned as I was doing this via Internet from California. El Velo team was very responsive and professional from the start. Andrea connected with me within 48hrs of me reaching out. She help calm my concerns regarding scams. We were able to set up communication via Whstsup along with emails. The process was seamless from contract to payment, to appointment place and time. Lucho the photographer was amazing and timely. My daughter shared how they enjoyed working with Lucho and how professional and kind he was. He listened to their needs and exceeded their expectation! They were able to also get some family photos in! Lucho was able to capture the love and beauty in his photos! I am so grateful for the extraordinary care and kindness provided! We wanted to do pictures for our 10th anniversary at a waterfall then back at our resort on the beach. Luis was our photographer and he met us at the waterfall. He had great ideas for poses for pictures and great angles. He was attentive to anything we asked him to take a picture of. There is not one picture I don't absolutely love. Our phones did not have good service in Costa Rica so I emailed the company to let them know and get set everything up letting me know who would be our photographer and send a picture of who to look for. Everything was outstanding from start to finish. I can't recommend this company highly enough! Luis's attention to detail in the pictures was amazing. Planning a wedding from a different country can be stressful and difficult. We found El Velo Photography via WeddingWire and after looking at the portfolios and the great price points, we decided to go with them. And what a GREAT choice. Our photographer, Luis, was on time and very personable. We mentioned this was our first time being professionally photographed, so we were a bit nervous and he was awesome. He guided us to different poses and made us all feel very comfortable. We were racing against the sunset to get some shots on the beach and he completely took over the situation and the results were absolutely beautiful. Communication via email with El Velo was clear, concise and as mentioned above, the price point is much smaller than competitors for more time. We would 100% recommend El Velo and especially Luis to handle your wedding or other special moments with ease and professionalism.

Photography and Videography at it's BEST!!
This company is amazing, I had a destination wedding in Costa Rica, it was new to me and trying to figure everything out, I forgot a couple things. Two weeks before flying out, we forgot about booking the photography!! The resort were we staying at provided photography but not videography and I really wanted to capture family on video. Luckily my sister in-law did some searching and found El Velo! Their work is amazing, responded in a timely manner and prices were awesome but the experience was more than I could ever imagine!!
Danny and Luis are the dream team, we had other wedding issues happen through out the day but they made everything better!!
Danny and Luis personalities were so welcoming and made the family feel at home.
A huge, Thank you to the guys and the wonderful lady behind it all, Andrea!
We received our sneak- peaks and lets just say it brought tears to my eyes that they captured the beautiful moments on our special day!!
The over all experience was amazing and this team has great communication, beautiful work and top notch customer service!!
I HIGHLY recommend El Velo Photography and Videography, you will not be disappointed!!

If you are planning your wedding you know how difficult it is to make a decision about almost everything. We chose El Velo and it was the best decision ever, Luis was great throughout the whole experience, super friendly and professional. Luis did a wonderful job capturing our wedding in beautiful professional photos. We couldn’t be more happy with the results. He was creative, energetic, and went over and above to make sure he captured the best photos. The golf cart that we were suppose to use on the resort broke down which lead us to have to walk 25 minutes down to the beach and then back up again in the pouring rain. Luis didn’t even hesitate to start lugging all his equipment down to the beach by hand, in the rain to get the beach photo we wanted. We would highly recommend Luis!El Velo Photography's reply:

We loved our photos!!!
Amazing customer service. We booked for July 2020 and had to reschedule twice before we were finally able to make it to Costa Rica and they were so understanding and easy to work with. On our special day, it thunder-stormed like crazy and we were worried about the pictures but they turned out amazing anyways. We highly recommend them, you will not be disappointed. -

Fairy Tale Elopement
We eloped to Costa Rica in May and everything was arranged through our travel agent (shout out to Elope Costa Rica and Catalina and James). I did not meet Luis, our photographer until the event arrived- but by the end we were all friends drinking champagne together! I am older (50) and had gained weight during quarantine. In all honesty I was not excited to take picture but he made me look beautiful! The pictures are spectacular. He even noticed our dorky love of Star Wars and edited some pictures so it seemed like a lightsaber battle. He really went above and beyond. We originally planned our Costa Rican wedding over a year ago and it got postponed twice due to Covid. El Velo photography was so accommodating and flexible. They changed dates for me twice. The night before our wedding we had to postpone the ceremony for an hour and they didn’t mind at all. Luis came out and did a fantastic job. We have so many gorgeous pictures. It started pouring rain in the middle of our photo session and he continued to provide us with the best ideas for different shots. I am speechless at the beauty of these photos. Amazing photography and videography!

Danny and Luis of Velo Photography absolutely nailed our wedding photos and video. The most important aspect is quality of the product, I expected a few good pictures to be buried amidst hundreds but it was dozens and dozens of good ones, which made it a real challenge to figure out which ones to print and share! Secondarily but also important, they were fun and understanding before, during, and after the ceremony. They struck a good balance of letting us live in the moment of our big day but keeping us conscious of the sunset and it's effect on lighting. When it inevitably got dark, they were prepared with the necessary equipment. I'm not sure if they scouted the location beforehand or if they had been to the venue before, but they knew exactly where to stage our photos for absolutely epic shots. It's not like we got to practice posing for our wedding, but they positioned us such that we looked comfortable. Members of our wedding party let us know they were grateful to the mindfulness paid by Luis and Danny to snap shots of them with their dates, as they had been in many weddings in which there were only group photos. A few weeks after the photos we got their edited video and it was breathtaking. All those poses that didn't photograph well really shined in the video! They captured the wonder of the landscape and somehow made us look amazing in the process. Legitimately, I am glad we went with Velo Photography to capture one of our happiest days, because they really made the day better for everyone there, and now we have a lot of epic documentation of our wedding.El Velo Photography's reply:

Everything was perfect!
From start to finish everything was Great! Luis was super easy to work with and nailed every photo! My original hair and makeup person cancelled on me so we had to change times a little and he was super relaxed about it! My fiance isn't a lover of taking lots of photos and he even got him to smile and enjoy it lol! Our engagement photos turned out picture perfect! Can not wait for the wedding! great experience!
my husband i eloped to costa rica and wanted professional pictures to capture the event and share with friends and family. el velo was the only company that was flexible with their rates and time, and modified what they offer in order to allow us to have one hour of photography. Luis was great to work with- it was clear how passionate he is about photography, and was so excited after each picture he took! my husband hates getting his picture taken and he lasted the full hour without any complaints, and thats in part to how fun and personable Luis was! the pictures came out fantastic and I couldnt have asked for a better experience! thank you!El Velo Photography's reply:

Everything was great. I wish I could remember the photographers name that worked with us but he was on time, even ran over to save the train of my dress from getting wet by a wave at one point during taking photos which I thought was awesome. He helped instruct us for poses and overall captured everything I wanted. Amazing photos of our elopement!
I can not recommend them enough! Our elopement planner booked El Velo for us, so we had no idea what to expect. The photos are AMAZING! Sincerely beautiful images of our rainforest wedding at La Paz Waterfall Gardens. We had a link to a sneak peak website within two weeks and then all our photos about a month later.
In addition to the quality of the photos, because we were eloping, our photographer was also our witness and one of the few people we spent time with at our wedding. He was really great and so happy for us, it added to our special day. We had so much fun scouting locations, and even got some really great shots with toucans :)El Velo Photography's reply:

Chelsea Sent on 09/06/2018Our wedding was in Costa Rica and it was extremely hot that day. The photographer, Juan, was absolutely amazing! He knew the venue very well and he had great tips and pointers. The pictures were beautiful. He was kind, courtesy, and professional. Great work!

Nicole Sent on 08/14/2018I used El Velo for photography and videography for my destination wedding in Costa Rica on July 28 2018. The resort I got married at (Flamingo Beach Resort) suggested El Velo, but I already had my heart set on El Velo anyway after reading the incredible reviews. Since I relied heavily on the reviews, I feel it is only right I share my experience as well to ensure others will have a good idea as to why El Velo is the right company to use. I emailed Andrea more than a year out and locked in my date. She was so sweet and very responsive. Originally, we were doing about 6 hours of photography and 3 hours of video. About a month out, we decided we wanted to max out the time for both. I emailed Andrea asking if this was something that could be done and she was very accommodating and ensured that the photographer and videographer would be available for additional time as requested. I specifically requested Juan Carlos and could not have been happier with my decision! Not only is he incredibly talented, but he's a genuinely kind and interesting person. I really enjoyed working with him. I have only received the sneak peak to date but OH MY GOODNESS - I am in love with every picture he took!! The turn around time for this "sneak peak album" was so fast - about 6 business days and there are a TON of photos included (close to 100). I have friends and family reaching out to me saying how beautiful the pictures came out and specifically complimenting the photography work. I forgot the videographer's name (I feel terrible about that) but he was absolutely incredible also! I haven't received the video yet but he always seemed to be close by to capture the moment without being too intrusive. I can not wait to get the rest of the pictures and the video! I wish this company worked out of NY also because I would use them over and over again any time I needed a photography/videography! Thank you El Velo for capturing the most magical day of our lives <3 Pura Vida!

From the moment we met the photographer he made sure to do a phenomenal job in capturing all different angles and people from our wedding and of course the spotlight was on my husband and I. He made us feel at ease and you can tel in how great he captured each moment. I would highly recommend him as my expectations were exceeded! Alicia Sent on 04/12/2017I was very happy with the sneak peek at my wedding photo's they turned out amazing and can't wait to get the rest. EL Velo shot my sister's wedding 5 years prior and it was amazing to be able to have them photograph my wedding. They were very flexible as my husband hates photo's and didn't want to be stuck getting photo's for hours they made sure they took amazing in a time that made my husband happy.
