DJ Ed Geer came recommended by our venue, and he was one of the first vendors we hired when we began planning our Big Island wedding. From the moment we started working with Ed, up until our wedding reception in April 2025, he was nothing short of consistent, professional, and a joy to communicate with. It's immediately clear that Ed has years of experience in the industry, having worked at countless weddings — he truly knows his craft. Ed was the heartbeat of our wedding reception. His passion for what he does is undeniable, and it shows in every interaction. He’s a true professional who wants nothing but perfection for your special day.
Throughout the planning process, he was quick to respond to every email and phone call, and each conversation felt more like chatting with a close friend than a vendor. In the months leading up to our wedding, we had several calls where Ed took the time to really get to know us — our love story, backgrounds, the vibe we wanted to create at our reception, and of course, our musical tastes. He even recommended adding special songs to specific moments in our timeline, and let me tell you, it made a huge impact! Some of our calls lasted almost two hours, which just goes to show how invested he is in making your day exactly what you envision. And, as a lovely surprise, Ed threw in extra lighting at no charge because he’s that passionate about creating the perfect atmosphere for you.
When we finally met Ed at our wedding reception, it truly felt like a family embrace. His warm, positive, and friendly personality made us feel like we’d known him for years. He really looks out for you and ensures you have the best time, which we absolutely did. Ed played all the songs from our curated playlist, and the dance floor was packed all night. He’s also a naturally gifted emcee, and everything he said over the microphone flowed effortlessly.

The music, the man, DJ Ed Geer. I nicknamed him, “The Voice,” as soon as I heard him over the PA system. Found out later that he used to be on the radio.
My niece’s destination wedding was held at the Kona Salt Farm in February 2026. I was a guest but also assisted with the planning and coordination as none of us were from Kona. Initially, the plan was to have recorded music with a friend serving as the emcee. Having worked for an entertainment company (not as a performer) I was very happy when the couple decided on hiring a professional DJ instead. Timing is critical on a show, and I got spoiled expecting that in every type of performance/event.
Ed provided the sound system and mic’d the groom and officiant for the ceremony while the main set up was in the reception area of the oceanfront sandstone. The bridal couple worked with Ed on the playlist for the ceremony, pupu/hors d’oeuvre reception, dinner and dancing. Not until sunset, did I notice the lighting focused on Ed’s set up as well as the “stage/dancing” area. The soft uplighting at the foot of the speakers’ stands added such a beautiful ambience to an already incredible setting.
Ed is easy to work with and very accommodating. He kept the entire event in smooth harmony from ceremony, reception, to the couple’s sparklers send-off. Everything flowed perfectly, thanks to Ed. Nothing comes to mind when everything’s running smoothly. It’s only noticeable when there are glitches or uncomfortable pauses. We had none. From the flower girl & boy to the ring bearer, young adults and even seniors, he had the place hopping. It was great seeing everyone having so much fun and enjoying themselves. I can’t imagine we would have had the same excitement or expended energy with taped music.

We are so grateful we had Ed as our DJ for our wedding! From the very beginning, he was friendly, professional, and easy to work with. On the big day, he brought such an amazing energy and kept the flow of the evening running perfectly. He read the crowd so well, kept the dance floor packed all night, and also took care of all our lighting and set up the dance floor! The night wouldn’t have been the same without it all!
Not only is he incredibly talented, but he’s also so kind and generous. He truly went above and beyond for us, and we’ll always remember how special he made our celebration feel. We would recommend Ed to anyone looking for a DJ who genuinely cares about making your day perfect. Thank you, Ed, for being such an important part of our special day! -

Ed was absolutely amazing to work with start to finish! He genuinely cares about you as a person and couple and will do anything to make sure your day is executing perfectly! It was so hard planning a wedding from a distance and he made the process so smooth! I could not recommend Ed enough! He did everything from our dance floor, lights, DJ, and Emcee!! He had every single guest up dancing!!!! Truly made our wedding night spectacular! -

If this aspect of your special day is important to you, I highly recommend seeking out his services sooner rather than later. My husband in particular was worried about music and wanted very specific songs played, but from the first planning call with Ed I knew he was going to execute our vision perfectly. SO GLAD we hired Ed! We had a very small wedding and I was worried it would be too small to hire a DJ, but Ed got everyone up and dancing, and the dance floor was one of the best parts of the wedding. He made our small wedding feel like a huge party. 100% Recommend. -

DJ Ed Geer came highly recommended to us by our wedding coordinator and what a GREAT recommendation it was. Once Ed was confirmed, he immediately reached out and started to coordinate with us for our wedding. He spent time on the phone getting to know us and what we expected from him during our special day. At no point did he try to hijack our music choices, but instead made it all about us and what made us happy. He took the time to establish a timeline for the entire wedding event and what music would be played accordingly. Also, he ensured that he had the correct pronunciations for all names. He requested we compile a list of music to be played during our cocktail hour/reception. Once we provided him with the music, he painted a picture with music as he would say.
DJ Ed Geer took the time to meet us for our rehearsal and go over the wedding day details. On our wedding day, he maintained a constant coordination with our coordinator to ensure that we stuck to our timeline. He did a great job making sure our guests stayed engaged throughout the wedding with our selection of music. Overall, DJ Ed was amazing, and we are so happy he was able to DJ our wedding. Mahalo Ed for being a part of our special day!

Ed did my wedding on the Big Island of Hawaii in September, and did an amazing job!
My wedding was postponed 3 times due to Covid19 and Ed was so easy to work with and communicate with throughout the crazy circumstances- he was always very responsive, followed up, and and he was so fun to work with. We hosted a welcome reception at a local restaurant for all the guests and he did karaoke which everyone loved. He also did our lighting for the wedding reception, so he truly is full-service. I would highly recommend Ed to any bride getting married in Hawaii who wants to have an amazing time! Thank you Ed, mahalo!

Best DJ in Kona
Ed was exactly what we wanted in a DJ for our wedding! Planning a destination wedding had it's tough moments, but Ed was not one of them. He was very thorough details and made sure he followed exactly what we wanted from announcements to song choices. I really wanted a "party" during the reception and Ed made sure of that with the song choices and keeping the dance floor alive. For us, Ed quite simply transcended what it means to be a wedding Deejay! He became a brutha!!
Besides making our wedding immeasurably fun and memorable, he added a lot of special touches that wouldn’t immediately spring to the flustered mind, moments away from wedding!
Needles to impress at this point how amazing he made our special day but suffice it to say that you could never be disappointed by hiring him!

Ed was the perfect match to our boutique style wedding. We were looking for professional quality and demeanor. Ed is beyond professional and able to blend quality with the comfort you expect while enjoying Hawaii. Our family was more than happy with the song choices and we were extremely pleased with how he had the whole night planned out. Our wedding day was stressful, but Ed sat us down the day before and reviewed everything, putting us at peace, knowing he had it covered. If you are looking for the BEST on the Big Island you have found it. We are very secluded and he was able to keep our privacy which was and is a BIG concern for most of the guests. Ed helped us with our May wedding in so many ways! I havent organized a wedding previously and Ed helped me out with keeping the flow of the event and ceremony and had great ideas for both timing of the different parts of the wedding and the music, of course.
The whole evening went so well. I felt like it was perfect and once it got started I didnt have to worry about anything (except to "go over here for pictures", then "go over there for pictures" haha).
With Ed you will get his personal time and experience, his dedication to detail and flexibility AND a wonderful Aloha spirit. We appreciate all the work he put into getting our day right and making it fun and happy. -
