Photography at its best

Dwight was the most wonderful, personable, and professional photographer ever! He was punctual, comedic, helpful, and incognito; most of the time we didn’t even realize he was there, but when we received our pictures back he captured everything perfectly. He also was very well priced and worked quickly to get our photos to us after the wedding! I would definitely recommend him to capture one of the most important days of your life, as he did mine!

Dwight and his partner Debbie did an amazing job photographing my wedding in the high country earlier this fall. Both are very professional and they make the process very comfortable and easy. I would recommend Dwight to do any special occasion, my photos turned out PERFECT!

Dwight Smith photographed our daughter's wedding and we couldn't have been happier. We got great pictures that were excellent not only with the posed shots but with the action photos during the reception. He's so positive and bubbly, that all the posed family and wedding party shots had everyone smiling. We're delighted with everything he provided. I'd highly recommend him for his professionalism and outstanding work!

Dwight took beautiful pictures!! I loved all of them :) He captured the lighting beautifully. He was very reasonable financially. He got all the pictures that I wanted. Nothing was left out! I highly recommend the quality of the pictures!!

We had a very small and intimate wedding. Dwight Smith was very professional and gave us very beautiful photos in keeping with our theme.

Dwight was recommended to us by DJ Jeff Marcus. We procrastinated on finding a photographer and met with Dwight maybe 3 weeks before our wedding. He was amazing. He was speedy with the pictures and got both posed and action shots. His pictures came out exactly how we had hoped. His prices were extremely reasonable. I regret not writing this review sooner for anyone that has been looking for a photographer. He is laid back while being efficient. I know we made the right choice with Dwight.

Dwight was a joy to work with every step of the way. His website provided all the information we needed as well as a look at what beautiful work he does. He had great ideas for photos and we are thoroughly delighted with the results. He was professional and was able to get us the photos quickly.

We had a non-traditional wedding. It was a church service followed by a luau lunch. It was casual and fun and he just went along with it. If I could use only one word to describe our whole experience with Dwight it would be AWESOME!

Dwight and Debbie were the absolute best photographers any bride/groom could ever ask for! Dwight always gave me quick responses to any questions that arose prior to the wedding as well as the day of and after. Professional?....absolutely! Personable?....they are now family! I will definatley choose Dwight as my photographer for all my future photographs! He didn't take away from my wedding day. He captured every moment with nothing missed, without me even knowing he was there. And the pictures.....AMAZING! Everyone loves them!

Dwight was excellent. He always responded to our emails and phone calls quickly and with the information we needed. He was also very accommodating when we needed to adjust the photography coverage time. Best of all, his photographs were excellent and caught all the moments we wanted.

Dwight gave us a great product for an excellent value. He delivered on everything that was agreed upon. He was professional, fun, and easy to work with which made everyone feel comfortable and natural for the pictures. We received our photos very quickly after our wedding and they are absolutely beautiful. My husband and I will recommend Dwight to anyone looking for a photographer for any event.

Dwight and his assistant were great. His images are breathtaking. I paid more for him because of his quality of work. He was professional and courteous to everyone. He arrived on time and had great communication, both during that day and before and after.

Dwight Smith is a wonderful photographer. He takes amazing pictures and is able to really capture so many emotions in his pictures. Dwight makes you feel really comfortable when taking those awkward all-by-yourself portraits. Usually whenever I have to take those kinds of photos, I tend to look really posed and fake. Dwight made it so easy and the pictures looked so nautural and absolutely beautiful. When taking family photos after the ceremony, Dwight is able to do this in no time, leaving you with a chance to say hello to some of your guests during cocktail hour. He is very flexible and will take photos of whatever and who ever you ask him to. He and his wife Debbie are so friendly and easy to work with. During the reception, Dwight seemed to be everywhere and his pictures reflected that. I can honestly say that he got a photo of everyone that was in attendance at our wedding and seeing all of our guests with big smiles on thier faces, made our planning and hard work worth it. Dwight has such a great eye and has truly mastered photography that will help you remember the most special day of any bride and groom!! I highly recommend calling Dwight today for your wedding!!

Dwight & Debbie were great. They were very professional and flexible to work with. Our photos were AMAZING! Everyone who sees our wedding album comments on how artistic and unique it is. I am extremely picky and I was not disappointed. I would highly recommend Dwight for anyone's wedding photography needs.

We had a great experience with Dwight and his fiance & photo assistant, Debbie. We had them shoot our wedding ceremony & reception, and we also included a photobooth which Debbie ran. The pricing was very, very reasonable for both services and the photobooth was a blast--we used that as a "guestbook" instead of having people just sign a page. I just wish I'd had more time to get in there more myself! Both Dwight and Debbie are very nice and personable, they were great at making our guests and wedding party feel at ease, including the kids. And I agree with other reviewers that they manage to get photos of every important moment but you hardly notice they are there! We chose to get the photo disc and it was completed within the time promised, and the pictures came out great! We have lots of great shots to choose from :)

Dwight and Debbie provided excellent quality service for photographing our daughter's wedding. Dwight and Debbie displayed unique prospectives on photoing and lighting of the before, during and after wedding moments. The quality of his work was amazing. Reviewing the parents book brought back many wonderful memories of our daughter's special day. The uniqueness of some of the photos could only be taken by someone with an eye for excellence. Those special moments during the wedding were captured with excellent quality and will forever be treasured. Time to get the product was not too excessive, given the quality of the product produced. The end result is worth the wait. Dwight provided excellent service and we would recommend him for other weddings.

Dwight and Debbie are wonderful to work with! They are such a friendly pair and really deliver fabulous photos. We hardly noticed Dwight during the event, but he managed to catch every moment. During our posed photographs, Dwight makes it easy to relax and is very funny- which helps achieve those natural smiles in photos. His work is incredible and he is a top professional. He is very fast at returning calls and answering questions. I would definitely recommend Dwight!!!

We used Dwight for our wedding. He was great before and at the actual wedding, took great pictures, stayed out of the way yet captured the moments and kept people interested during the photo shoots. He gave us lots of examples up front for us to see and discuss what picture styles we were looking for. The pictures ended up being beautiful and with the retouches he did they look natural and definitely add to them.

Dwight does good work on the day of, but if you order a package from him you may never get it fulfilled. My husband and I ordered a wedding album from Dwight last April and were told that it would take 16 weeks to get the proofs for the book before it could even be ordered. While that is a lot of time to wait, we were patient. After 16 weeks, we did not hear from Dwight. After 18 weeks, we still had not heard from him. Over the past year, we have tried calling and emailing and we either get an excuse or promises for services that never come. Most of the time, there is no response at all. He has never reached out to us to explain the situation and try to make it right; we have always been the ones to initiate contact. We spent almost three thousand dollars with him and over a year later still do no have the services that we paid for.

First off, my wedding was on 2/08/2014 and it is now 6/10/2015 and I have yet to receive my wedding album along with the parent albums that were supposed to be provided within 8 weeks from the time I submitted my form to him. 5/07/2014 would have been the day my husband and I should have received our photos. I proceeded to follow up with him every 30 days after that and I was blatantly ignored. He gave me excuse beyond excuse on why he didn't have them. I understand everyone goes through personal obstacles, but when you pay someone $2000.00 to complete a job and they do not fulfill their end of the contract, that is simply wrong and it seems like I am not the only one this happened to. The instances where he did return my emails, never my calls, he consistently gave me excuses onto why he didn't have my photos done. He even got personal with what he was going through, which I thought was extremely unprofessional. I would never want this for any bride-to-be so my suggestion is to go elsewhere and to never do business with this man. I also have seen my photos online and what a disappointment! They were terrible shots with smudges on the lens! There was not a single photo that was captured in the moment. I got married at Val Vista Lakes, which is a gorgeous venue, and the pictures didn't capture any of it. The photos of me and my bridesmaids were taken in front of the buffet table with part of the trays in the pictures. He didn't even bother cropping them out. I would hate for any couple to go through this with their wedding. I truly hope he goes out of business as he is a terrible photographer and impossible to work with, and I will be surprised if I ever even get my photos! I don't see how this man can be on any vendor list as he is just awful!

WARNING!! If I could give a 0 I would. Dwight did my first wedding in june of 2013 and was impossible to get a hold of and then later claimed and filed for bankruptcy. We got the most premium package and he took all $5000 of our payment and never produced a single album or portrait. He is a crook and thief and never tried to make right by anything. DO NOT HIRE THIS THIEF!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT HIRE DWIGHT AS YOUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER!

Our wedding was over 8 months ago and I have not received, yet alone heard back from Dwight about my photo album or duplicate parent books. He is VERY hard to get a hold of, and just as the review below me stated, when you are actually able to speak to him, he does give every excuse in the book.

I am extremely disappointed in his services. At one point (after we had already paid him our deposit), I considered cancelling our contract and just walking away from the deposit amount we had paid him, and even met with a few other photographers. However, I decided that I had gone with Dwight for a reason, and I decided to stick with him for the "most important day of my life". I can't tell you how badly I wish that I could go back in time in order to choose a professional photographer to capture my wedding day.

I unfortunately will probably never receive the wedding albums that I was promised, but am hoping that this post will discourage any bride from considering hiring this man. Your bank account, stress level, and of course wedding day will thank you for going with any other company.

Dwight was a great photographer to work with. He was never pushy and seemed to enjoy what he does. One of the best things about Dwight was when we first met I wasn't looking for one of the predetermined packages my needs were a little different and Dwight proactively listened and designed me a package that fit what I wanted where no other photographer did. My family loved Dwight and he was efficient which was important to us. We didn't want to spend hours away from our guests. We already received are pics back and they are everything I wanted.

UPDATE 9/5/13: We are still waiting for package products ordered from Dwight. He is not nearly as accessible and responsive after the event as he was prior. Sent an email looking for an update on when we should expect our proofs by. Nothing. Called last week and he said he would get us the proofs by end of the week. Nothing. Called and left a message today. Hopefully I will get a repsonse. Don't think he had any issues with cashing the check. Maybe dropping the review induces some of that spirit he had prior to our event. Will be checking the contract for any legal ramifications possible due to services unfulfilled. I guess on the bright side this means I have something other than my pregnancy to concern myself with. (Where is the sarcasm font!?!) Baby first or our wedding photo package? Your guess is as good as mine. Will update when something happens.

I hesitated to review, but feel obligated to be socially responsible to future couples. Our wedding was in 2008. It is now 12/2012, and we just received our Wedding Album included in a $3400.00 package ($2500.00 plus $900.00). This comes after numerous UNANSWERED emails and phone calls by my husband, and a mountain of voicemails and emails by myself, which escalated to threatening a lawsuit. ONLY THEN did we recieve a response. This was accompanied by a zillion of excuses and "woe is me" tales of a shoddy businessman, who accepts large sums of money and does not deliver on contractual promises till threatened. Thankfully, we noted his packages are now cut to half-price on website. Still, no value and an extraordinary amount of stress for the unsuspecting consumer.

I would have put all this behind me, if we recieved a professional wedding album after the 4-year wait. Instead, we recieved a 'Do-it-Yourself' album with photo pages attached at the spine and already unglued at the page's edges. Definitely not the professional Leather Craftsman albums he had on display four years ago! Again, I just opened the box, and the pages are unglued -- they do not stick -- are not fully assembled. This was not crafted by a professional Lab, nor a Printer. I could not even show this to anyone. Do I buy a glue stick, or attempt taping for a temporary fix -- or paper clip each photo insert to the thick pages???

$2500.00 + $900.00 (high-resolution images on disc) for this experience. There's more, but it's so disturbing that I don't care to share.

I wished I never picked Dwight as our wedding photographer. As I review other websites after our wedding or even friends wedding photos, I say to myself "I wish I had a photo like that!" I was overall very dissatisfied with the end result. Dwight says it only takes him 16 weeks to complete your album for you, after a number of reminders and 4 months later he ceased all communication. I had already spoke with 3 lawyers and put down a retainer and he appeared out of woodwork with a finished product, a year after my wedding. Unless you want the fustrations of the no communication and so many excuses of not feeling well go ahead waste your money. From what I heard he has sold his good equipment.

Also, he asked me to do his work for him, asking me to talk to the videographer because he did want to talk to him. Didn't get all the photos I requested, especially the flower girl down the aisle. He had his fiance Debbie with him... I personally feel Debbie took nicer pictures than he did! He made a stressful day worse... and then tried to guilt me later on for making a stop on the way to the reception. Even thou he sat at a empty church for 1 hour prior to service, knowing things were delayed 1 hour.
